I go every year to get kids christmas pictures done at this location since its the easiest for me to pickup when they are in. Is a small studio and is always packed with people waiting, so it can be very hectic especially if you have small children that bore easy. They take ok pictures during shoot and seem to take a bunch of photos, but the staff 1st gets them and only chooses what I believe is about 1/4 of the photos taken for you then they show you those pictures. Not sure why they don't show all of them and then you choose the ones that will go for prints, or even in this digital age they should all be available no matter how good or bad. Price I end up paying with coupons and Jcpenney portrait perk membership is what keeps me going back even though I don't really like the location otherwise and the way the do it at JcP.

Each year I take my son to get his photos done professionally for his birthday and I always go all out on buying decorations for the background. This year he turned 3 and the theme was mickey due to his present this year is a trip to disney world. My experience was not good. I always went to walmarts potrait studio but I was informed that was shut down so I had no choice but to try JC Penny's. The photographer was very good with my son however the pictures were HORRIBLE! I feel she felt rushed due to other people needing their photos taken so she did not get any good shots. I took 2 photos from the 10 she took and wasn't happy with either. I felt I had no choice but to limit down to at least one I somewhat liked because there was no way I was gonna set another date and do this all over again. Walmart has always done an outstanding job. These photos were just sloppy and only 1 showed the full background. I left in tears I was so upset because this is something I put alot of money into and something I get excited for each year and for it being my first time I had a horrible experience. Not to mention I was disgustingly overcharged for 6 8x10s and 8 wallets along with a digital. I asked for 2 photos only to send digitally and all of them were sent to me and I was charged for all of them. The total was 182 dollars with my coupon it came to 120. I had xmas photos that I needed done and already scheduled for and now I will happily cancel because I will never return here again. I'm also not happy about finding out I have to return a week from now to get the few simple photos I asked for. Walmart was same day within a half hour. This place is trash and I will not return ever again.

Katrina is SO great at capturing photos of my son! So far, we’ve gotten newborn, 3 month, and 6 month photos taken and I could not be happier with the shots, poses, edits, and deals. The digital album gets sent to my e-mail in less than 12 hours and the prints/canvases don’t take long at all. I highly recommend JCPenney Portrait Studio in Saginaw, MI.

The studio was running an hour behind schedule but didn’t communicate how far behind they were so we were constantly telling our kids “it’s almost our turn”. By the time we got in the studio, the session was hurried and we received far less photos then we typically get for a thirty minute photo session. Better communication and less tight scheduling would go far in improving the experience.

Best experience I have had in a long time when it comes to pictures. Katrina is amazing! She does a wonderful job and she is great with kids & parents to! ???? I have went in on different occacsions one with 11 people for a family photo and it was absolutley perfect! No complaints and if your looking to get indiviuals or group photos this is the place to go! Not to mention the great prices that they have plus their specials. I cant say enough GREAT things!!! Thank you Katrina and Jcpennys!

The place is wonderful. Not only do they take great pictures at a good price, the folks who work here are very friendly. The location inside JCPenney is convenient too. I just wish they weren't closed in Tuesday.

I do not typically leave negative reviews for places, but the experience we had at this photo studio last spring was absolutely awful. We waited for over an hour even with an appointment. (We did not want to be here in the first place; a relative forced us to go.) Then when the photographer finally did take pictures of our baby and her cousin, she spent practically no time on us compared to the family who went before us, AND she scared my baby and made her cry. She was not smiling in any of the pictures, and my child is a ham. We were highly unimpressed with all the pictures and take better pictures with our phones with our child actually smiling. Because of this experience, I do not ever want to get "professional" pictures taken at JCPenney or ANYWHERE ever again.

Firstly, I want to preserve my kids memories so I spare no expense and I get their photos taken religiously- all the time. Yesterday I went in to pick up my children's portraits at this Fort Smith, AR location. I was ignored and made to wait an hour by Haleigh (she was at the counter went I went up but decided to shoot photos before aknowledging my presence or asking what I needed) after an hour wait, she ignored me until I said, "I'm just here to pick up my kids pictures" then she had the nerve to try and upsale me a $20 photo package after waiting over an hr- again with attitude (she also ignored several phone calls to the studio that I took videos of while she was standing around ignoring customers bc i've never experienced such lack of professionalism!) Haleigh also forgot to give me my cards so I had to send my husband in today, April 20th on my BIRTHDAY and she did the same thing to him and another customer.. Ignored them for over 30 minutes at least. Yesterday the manager, Shanda, made excuses that it was her first day there alone when we asked for her to call us due to her behavior. Shanda has took our pictures at least a couple times and i've never had a problem with her but it was clear Haleigh wasnt reprimanded to spoke to about this due to her doing the exact same thing the next day. Shes costing them money due to not answering the phones and ignoring customers with attitude. I have a degree in business management and i've NEVER encountered someone who completely lacks in customer service being a photographer like her. Wow. Seems like jcpenny needs to look into their hiring policy again. We wont be going back and will take our money elsewhere, even if we have to travel farther. You can't put a price on memories. We travel a good distance from our home to go to this studio, I'd much rather travel farther to a studio with professionals.

Would rate a 0 but can't ????‍♀️ Stephanie the lady who was working was EXTREMELY RUDE! From the moment we got there she was rude and rushing us. She kept saying 5 more minutes we have to reschedule. Then when the newborn got there they had to get him dressed really fast and she said we was suppose to start 1 minute ago we will have to reschedule. I use to work here and we NEVER EVER rushed our customers!! Awful service!

The lady took maybe 10 photos noone was smiling or looking when we were done i asked if i could have a couple retaken she had an attitude with me said others were waiting id have to come back. Then said if i didnt like her photos someone else would do them in a week or 2. Advised her not a option i live over a hr away. Rushed me and my family through. The photographers were nice but the pictures turned out terrible. My kids weren't even looking at the camera. When I asked for my money back (The pictures were about $150 for just digital copies ONLY) they told me they could only give me about 20 bucks back and that was it. I feel completely ripped off. This was after the holidays had passed and there was nothing they could do. They offered me to bring my kids back to take them again but if they rushed me through once I wasnt coming back. Get a funsaver and do it yourself you'll have a better result than this place.

All of the older crew has left. This new crew is disappointing... And that's about the best that can be said. Don't bring small children, they won't even try to make them smile. I've gone 3 times a year for 6 years... I'll never go back again, I'm sorry to say. Not worth it.

I've been going to this place for many years. It's had its ups and downs. However the recent change of management has been wonderful! Photos that I has paid for were "lost" 8 years ago. I was recently contacted and told my photos were found. The lady I spoke with was such a delight. Since I've moved to Oregon from Arkansas she went ahead and mailed me these long lost photos...FOR FREE! I couldn't be more thrilled! Highly recommend. Thank you for going above and beyond jcp portraits!

Wasn't worth it at all. While the staff were nice enough, the photos of our baby are just.... not good. We had hoped to have nice photos of her at 6 months and were looking forward to having them done professionally. But after we received the prints in the mail, there's no way we'd send to our loved ones as we had intended. When they pulled the prints up on the computer, the screen was filthy and was hard to see the photos with all the gunk on the screen. That's such a basic thing- have a clean screen for customers to see the photos! We ordered 5x7 size which came as a pair. Except they weren't cut and they still had the bar code part on the print. If I cut it with scissors they'd be crooked. So... these photos will stay in the envelope they were mailed in and not be sent to family bc they're awful. I do not recommend.

I would recommend this place if you looking to get professional pictures done. We had to wait about half an hour past our appointment time but it wasn't bad. The pictures were taken pretty fast and the lady directed us very well. I kind of wish she could have re-taken some shots over but it's okay. After the shoot, she gave us some options and helped us choose what we wanted. She also gave us 40% off. Overall, the experience was great. I felt comfortable and would go back again. :)

The digital portrait studio is a rip off. The photographer was behind schedule and rushed. She physically blocked the screen and when I asked to see something closer she wouldn't stay on one photo long enough for me to look at it. She pressured me to make a selection when I couldn't see the image and I ended up with something I can't use, but I still had to pay $70. I won't go there again and I don't recommend anyone else waste their time.

I always get my pictures taken at Jcpenny and have since 2010 I’ve always been happy with pricing and the way they’re taken but this is the second time I’ve gone to this studio with a appointment made and been told I have to wait today I was told I had a 20 min wait came back and still had to wait I didn’t get my pictures done until a hour later it’s extremely rude and I wasn’t happy nor was I offered anything for my hour wait there’s no reason for anyone to wait when you have a appointment I will not be returning to this location again

Just cancelled and left with 2 crying kids after 45 minutes of waiting after our appointment time with no end to the waiting in sight. When a photographer is going to be over an hour behind schedule, there should be at least a phone call given to the customer. Our appointment last year was more than a half hour late, so we had one child crying before photos, but gave another chance this year because the Groupon price is so good. Big mistake!! We will be going with a professional photographer from now on.

Aweful experience! Didnt get our pictures taken until 1 hr 30mim past our appointment time. Do you think 3 small children were smiling after waiting that long. We only had one okay picture out of 20.
