Roughley Originals has become a part of my family! They have been there since the beginning while photographing my sisters and I for a gift for our parents, to my engagement, wedding, a rock the wedding dress photoshoot, when I was pregnant with my first baby (which I must say, even though I did not feel good about myself during this time, I look back at the photos and could not feel more beautiful), my daughters newborn photos (I rave about this experience with them, although I already considered them friends, watching them with my daughter and they love and tenderness they showed her brought tears to my eyes), an extended family session that I cherish so much after suddenly loosing my Dad this year, my daughters 6 month and 1 year shoots and little things in between for fun like Christmas & Valentine's Day minis. I already have them booked for our Christmas minis which include a family photo for our Christmas cards and now that we are excitedly expecting our 2nd child, I've booked them for the full year package for my new little bundle. Shauna and Gareth are an amazing pair, they are so fun to work with and make even the most shy person feel comfortable with them behind the camera. I value their work, I find their prices reasonable for the care, love and detail you receive and I appreciate the personal feeling you get while having them document those you love the most <3

The Roughley's have done our engagement, wedding, and newborn photos as well as mini sessions through Mommy Connections North (I make the treck out to the North Side from Mill Woods just to have these mini sessions taken by them!). Beautiful pictures, great afternoon! Shauna and Gareth did our sons newborn photographs and we couldn't be happier with the experience overall. Shauna and Gareth are so great to work with- professional and easy going. From setting things up months before the photoshoot to the day of, Shauna and Gareth took care of every detail and even took care of baby during the shoot so Mom and Dad could relax. The afternoon was so enjoyable.The pictures turned out far better than we ever expected and were sent to us just days after so we could review. I was so grateful for the way in which they were patient and creative with our toddler. We are fortunate to have had Roughley Originals photograph our wedding, my maternity and our newborn daughter, and our extended family photo. All occasions being momentous and joyful in our lives, and they couldn't have been better captured! Looking back at our wedding pictures, I remember and feel all the excitement we were feeling on that day. Shauna and Gareth captured us naturally as we were; sweet, romantic and in love. We had a blast taking my maternity photos; from trudging through knee-deep snow, to laughing until we cried . . . the photos were more than a session, they were an event! It was so beautiful to be in the mountains and take a moment to enjoy the anticipation of our little one. Watching Shauna and Gareth work with our daughter as she was toasty and sleeping so sweetly was so amazing. They were tender and quick and thoughtful. We loved seeing the photos of our newest addition through the eyes of someone else. The day of our family photos was brisk. It was that perfect blue sky, cold air Alberta winter's day. Gareth was a trouper and efficient with his directions so that we didn't freeze! He captured the most beautiful light and we have a lasting memory of sharing that time as a family. Would absolutely recommend them, and look forward to having them be a part of our family's future milestones.

As soon as I saw their work online I knew that I needed to contact them to do our maternity shoot... and I am so glad I did! Shauna was kind enough to bring us up to her family lake spot to do our shoot at sunset. As soon as we pulled up it took my breath away. She totally nailed the feel I wanted for your maternity shoot. The landscape was covered in lush woods, dirt roads and a completely stunning lake front. My partner is not a huge fan of having his photos taken but Shauna quickly put him at ease with her humour, warmth and genuinely caring personality. She was able to capture our raw, un-staged selves.
