Her small studio was very welcoming and she even personalized our visit with a little sign welcoming us with our newborn's name (I love the little details). She is truly a baby whisperer. After the family photos were done, she and her assistant completely took over and did all the photos of just my newborn without needing my help so I was able to sit back, be completely hands off and relax! Let me save you a lot of time Googling. Amanda Dams is the best photographer you’ll find in BC, period. She gets back to you way faster than any other photographer, even though she is just as busy. She has a large collection of backdrops and props to choose from for sessions with your children. She is patient and professional during the session and makes it fun. But most importantly, the quality of her images are top notch and worth every penny. We really debated whether it would be worthwhile to invest in professional photos for our son’s first birthday and I am SO glad we did. We are going to cherish these photos for the rest of our lives. This is the 3rd time we have used Amanda for our kids photoshoots. Amanda is extremely professional, very patient and handles your newborn with such care. Each time our photos have turned out absolutely amazing and she provides such a good variety of shots. The photoshoot experience is also amazing as the studio has a private room (good for nursing to help baby sleep for photos) along with toys to keep our older child occupied. When we stepped into Amanda's studio, Amanda and her helper were already prepared for our visit and right away we felt welcome and comfortable. They were particular great when working with our very active toddler during the family photos. In the end, we received amazing photos that I know we will cherish from years to come. In addition, we were very happy with the precautions the team took around COVID - it was a balance between making sure we felt safe but also comfortable.

I did my maternity session and then Noah’s newborn photos and grow with me package. It has always been an amazing experience working with Amanda as she’s always patient, detailed and accommodating my specific requests. She was super good at capturing the right moment and her setup was just beautiful. The grow with me package is also great to capture photos at different milestones as babies grow so fast! The 'Grow With Me' photography package is just a fabulous way to make sure tired & busy parents have those key growth moments captured in the first year! We looked at so many 'baby photographer' sites before discovering Amanda Dams and while so many had the props & poses they either lacked the artistry or that 'magic' ability to still seem natural and candid that Amanda's photos have! We've dealt with other photographers before and none have been more punctual or more importantly communicative as Amanda has been. We absolutely love the finished product! We came to Amanda with the idea of turning our daughter into a little panda and she found a way to make it happen. Receiving our photo package in the mail was exactly like opening up a 'goodie bag' after a birthday party. We can't wait till our next session...!!
