Powers Studios was easy to work with from the get go. Also helped that they had already established a relationship with the day of coordination company I hired. All their answers for my questions were straight forward and booking them was easy. After looking through their online gallery and various review websites, we were confident they would deliver exceptional photos and they were one of the most affordable compared to many others we inquired. We took some style surveys online (they were a bit extensive) that helped us get paired with Sara as our engagement shoot and wedding photographer. Since we lived in Seattle, Sara scheduled a skype meeting to get to know us and to go over where and when we wanted the engagement shoot. Sara understood we weren't models and had never been in a photoshoot so she helped guide us through the whole engagement shoot. Sara arrived promptly on our wedding day along with a 2nd photographer (we hired 2nd photographer for 3 hours to get multiple angles of first look, ceremony, etc). Both of hem were fabulous to work with! They made us and the rest of the bridal party laugh and feel so comfortable. We even got compliments from family about their professionalism. Sara checked in with us about a half hour before she was supposed to leave and made sure we got everything we wanted. We haven't received our full set of images yet but judging from the sneak peek blog pictures, we doubt we will be disappointed! Every picture is perfect!

We had a very positive experience working with Powers Studios throughout the entire planning process. Every employee that we were in contact with was knowledgeable, polite and respectful. All of our questions were answered in a timely manner, which was extremely helpful, because we live out of state and planned our wedding long distance. Our primary photographer was Zach. He was amazing to work with. As soon as he was assigned to our wedding, he e-mailed us to introduce himself and check-in to see how wedding planning was going. We met with him in person two times prior to our event and felt very comfortable and relaxed around him. Together we created shot lists for the big day and he also subscribed to my Wedding Inspiration board on Pinterest to get a feel for the types of shots that I wanted on my big day. On the day of our wedding he was present when he needed to be, but was never intrusive or in the way. He had a quiet presence about him. All of my guests and family really enjoyed him at our wedding.

They were so helpful, didn't try to up sell us or cut corners, and really were a delight to work for. They were all prompt in responding to questions, very professional, had great ideas, and really worked to understand what we were looking for in regards to the pictures for our wedding. We were so impressed when a sample set of pictures from our wedding went up on the blog in less than two weeks after our wedding! Powers Studios was great from the beginning. I appreciated their online surveys and checklists to match us up with the right style and photographer. They were fairly quick to respond to questions and our photographer met with me several months beforehand. On our wedding day, he was so professional, friendly, and efficient. My husband and I got married in July, 2018. I remember sitting in the car the day after our wedding, driving to our Honeymoon thinking - Wow, our photographer (Zach Holden) was the MVP of our wedding day. No question. Our "Wedding Day Coordinator" ended up being virtually non existent - and Zach stepped up in so many ways. He fixed bouquets, had band aids for blisters, coordinated with the DJ... the list goes on. Oh, and not to mention - he was an amazing photographer! Zach captured both posed and candid photos beautifully. Multiple people told me our pictures were the most beautiful wedding photo's they'd ever seen! Every time I look at our wedding photos, I find a new favorite. Supremely satisfied! We got married last June (2014) in Portland at the Crystal Ballroom, and hired Powers Studios to capture the day for us. We had a Gatsby theme, so we had very specific tastes and expectations, and Powers did not disappoint! They did an absolutely amazing job from the moment we spoke with them at the Portland Bridal Fair to almost a year later with their thoughtful follow ups! We loved the careful thought they put into the pre-wedding process, including surveys to help match up your photography style tastes with one of their photographers so you get a "look" that is exactly what you want. They went above and beyond what we could have hoped for, and we would DEFINITELY recommend them to other couples! Supremely satisfied!

Powers Studios earns high marks from two happy customers! From our first email to now, post-wedding, our experience with Powers was a great one! Communication was excellent and the process was extremely easy to understand and navigate. We especially appreciated the way that couples provide preferences in styles in order to be matched with a specific photographer. Our wedding was a destination wedding and we were pleasantly surprised with the flexibility of Seppi, Sara, and Peter at Powers that helped ease our minds planning from afar. During the reception we hardly noticed that Peter was there capturing moments and was never "in our faces." We had engagement and wedding photos done by Powers and we loved all the photos. They had great follow-up before I booked with all my questions. You fill out a survey to best match your style with a photographer. Sarah was so much fun to work with and made the whole experience enjoyable. She was able to capture so many candid and creative shots. We received all our photos back within a month after the wedding. Definitely worth the investment to chose a company you can trust to do a great job.

I would highly recommend Powers Photography Studio. We booked them for an engagement session in August 2014 and our wedding in April 2015. My husband and I live in Seattle so we were planning our wedding from a distance. Communication with Powers was very easy. Erin, Seppi, and our photographer Zach were all very responsive via email. It made it very easy to work with them. Their website is also very comprehensive so everything could be found online, including our final pictures. We were very happy with our photographer Zach who we were matched with based on the style surveys. I was skeptical about the process but it turned out fine. My husband was a little nervous about all the picture taking and Zach took the time to make him feel comfortable and gave my husband tips whenever he seemed too tense. For our engagement session we wanted to have pictures taken in Seattle at our engagement spot and our home. We are so thankful that Powers was willing to work with us on this point. They charged us a small fee and that was it! We received our edited wedding photos extremely quickly - just 1 month after our wedding. Compare that to a friend who didn't receive hers until 4 months later using a different photographer! The only difficulty we’ve had is in ordering prints/albums. It’s a little unclear what to do from the website. Be aware that you have to go in person to their studio to design an album (difficult if out of state) and you need to order albums by September if you want them by Christmas. Again, Seppi is happy to walk you through anything if you just let him know. Ultimately from beginning to end we loved Powers and would highly recommend them.

When wedding planning, everyone will tell you to not skimp on the photographer because 50 years from now, when the memories fade, the photographs will be there to help you remember everything amazing about your day. I am SO glad that we chose Powers, because I KNOW that in 50 years, we will have amazing photos from our day. We worked with Seppi (and you should, too!!!!), and he made the entire process so easy and so much fun! We always looked forward to meeting with him, and we had guests coming up to us all night to tell us how amazing he (and Allison, our second photographer) were. He made everyone laugh, feel comfortable, and he was always there when a good shot was about to happen. From the minute we met Powers Photography Studios, we were impressed with how personal they made the process of choosing a wedding photographer feel. In our initial meeting, we were invited into their studio, offered a drink, and sat on a comfortable couch to review their services. We immediately felt we were treated with a sense of priority, as I am sure all their clients feel. We booked within 24 hours of our initial meeting, without meeting with any other photographers - we just knew that Powers was going to give us high-quality service and a product we would be thrilled with. Their photographer matching system is spot-on and we loved how simple the process was. Our photographer met with us before each engagement shoot (2) and the wedding. He took our feedback each time, and got the shots we were looking for. I knew he was going to be great, but he definitely went above and beyond the day-of the wedding. At different points throughout the day, he re-tied the sash on my dress, brought me water on the dance floor, and ran around my husband and me with sparklers to get the perfect end of the night photos. All throughout the process, the communication was just fantastic, all of our questions were answered, and everyone at Powers was super easy to work with. Our decision to work with Powers Studios was easy. Powers was one of the few high-quality photography studios in the Portland area that gives you the digital rights to all of your photos (you don't have to purchase them separately). That was a must for my husband. They also had great reviews, friendly staff, and competitive prices. Working with Powers Studios was just as easy. Everyone we came in contact with throughout the process was friendly, approachable, and professional. Erin was very helpful and responsive to emails. After completing the style survey, Powers "matched" us with Josh, our photographer. We met with him before the wedding to get to know him a bit (and vice versa) and tell him what we were looking forward to seeing in our photographs. He was pleasant and showed us a picture he had taken outdoors this winter and we were blown away. We knew we had found the right match. Josh was flexible and very patient the day of, despite the commotion and language barrier (my husband's family came from all over the world and were speaking Spanish). Josh even stayed later than contracted to get a picture of me in my short get-away dress (a last minute necessity since we had a sudden heat wave and it was 95 degrees that afternoon). We received our pictures in a timely manner (much quicker than I expected, to be honest) and they looked great. The resolution is amazing and the overall quality is exceptional. He caught some very special moments and did a good job of photographing all of the guests. My only disappointment was that among all of the beautiful photos, there is not one special photo that I swoon over. Perhaps we could have used some more coaching or direction in our posing. Overall, I am very satisfied with my experience with Powers Studios and I would highly recommend them to any of my friends!

We thoroughly enjoyed working with Powers Studio and our photographer, Jennifer! We came to Powers a little bit differently from most couples, as we had to find a last-minute photographer a month before our wedding when our previous photographer fell through. We had quick responses from the Powers team and they were able to match us up to a great photographer. The staff and both of our photographers (Jennifer and Krishna) were professional and well-experienced, which we truly appreciated. Before our wedding day, Jennifer made sure to meet with us to go over the schedule for our wedding day and also discuss our shot list that we wanted. He was so great and patient throughout the process and the whole wedding day, and he also takes AMAZING photographs! He was always up for trying new and unique shots, but was very attentive and aware if we were getting tired, wanted alone time, needed to adjust, etc. during the day. Powers Studios was a great choice for us. Working in the Portland wedding industry, I was familiar with their work and reputation. One con I would say is their system of matching photographers based on a survey - just not quite the same experience as meeting your photographer in person when you're booking, as opposed to at a later time. That being said, we were matched with Zach Holden who was AMAZING. The pictures turned out gorgeous, and we felt that the second photographer was worth the extra cash as well (we had a big bridal party, so she took the groomsmen/women and he took the bridesmaids - she also took a lot of shots of the cocktail hour, detail shots of the reception, and our guests while he was doing family photos). My husband and I aren't especially comfortable in front of the camera, but he made us feel really comfortable and told us (nicely) what to do so that the photos turned out wonderfully. He even pulled a bobby pin out of his camera bag during family photos for my younger sister! Overall, we were very happy with our experience during the wedding, as well as the finished photos.

I am a photographer myself, so this decision was a very important one for me. Our initial meeting with Ben was pretty amazing, he answers all your questions before they are even asked, at the end of the meeting I couldn't really think of anything he hadn't covered, which made me feel like he really knew what he was doing. They have a lot of online tools you can use to help them figure out which of their photographers will be the best match for you, we wound up with Laurel, Ben's wife, and I am so glad we did. We met for our engagement shoot, they had someone booked right before us that was running late, but no big deal, we were seated in their Pearl office and offered a glass of wine or a bottle of beer. The session with Laurel was great, she is so sweet and really knows what she is doing. What matters most is the big day though, and it was pretty much flawless. Laurel really had a handle on what needed to be happening and moved people around as needed, even people who weren't guests at my wedding! She felt like more a friend than a hired employee, and when things that were beyond her control weren't quite going right she knew what to do. My wedding day was one of the best days of my life, and now I have tons of beautiful pictures to remember it. When we looked over their body of work on their website, we were excited to select them for our wedding as well. One of the best features they provide, in our opinion, is a photography survey that matches you to a photographer. This personalizes the photographer, to your own personal style. We hired Powers Studio for our engagement and wedding photos. We were matched with Seppi, and we couldn't have asked for a better person to work with. From the first time we met him, all the way through until the end, he was a delight. When we were doing our engagement photos, we ran over our allotted time. Seppi however, did not mention this one time, and finished shooting all the way until we were satisfied that we would have a good selection. On our wedding day, we opted to have a second photographer. This was a huge benefit, as it allowed the two groups to remain separate, and take our own individual shots. Seppi was the model of happiness, and remained calm when things began to run longer than our timeline. If one thing is certain about weddings, it's that it goes by in a flash. He was somehow able to be in every area of the wedding, and took photos of things we would have missed. We now have these memories forever, to help us relive the night for the rest of our lives.

We interviewed *several* photography studios for our wedding, and we were looking for three things: Creative photography, Ability to establish a great rapport, and great service. We found all three with Powers…and we especially loved our photographer, Seppi. We had an engagement session with him around that had both urban and outdoor elements to it - he was easygoing, professional, fun to be around, and was able to coax a ton of interesting, natural looking shots out of us. That comfort level greatly helped on wedding day – he made sure he got all the right shots, but was unobtrusive when he needed to be. He also made the family feel very comfortable, and established a rapport with a number of people, including some of our very youngest guests. And the photos were beautiful! Update. Great photography...DONT GET MARRIED. Amazing!! When looking for a wedding photographer for our upcoming wedding I felt a little overwhelmed. Most photographers were asking way more than I had budgeted for the wedding, (by thousands of dollars). And we were finding that most photographers charged for a package and then charged even more for the copyrights to our photos, so we could reprint them (again talking thousands of dollars of ad ons) Very, very, frustrating. And though I love my family and friends, a few drinks later their photos are not memorable. I love photographs and I wanted my wedding photographs to be amazing, it was a priority of mine on our special day. We were referred to Powers Photography by Peter Chee, who was booked on our day. Although we were bummed not to have our first choice of what we found to be reasonable priced photographers, we are so glad that we came to Powers. First off, their photographs are amazing, all captured in RAW, (if you are not familiar with image types, look into this, it makes a difference). They are friendly, professional, and they really made us feel welcome and gave us all of the information on how to choose a photographer and explained everything in detail. Their package deals included EVERYTHING we were looking for, including an awesome rewards program that we can use to our advantage. Most of all, I really liked the personal approach that was taken to our style. They have a completely unique way of picking your favorite and least favorite photos to match you with the perfect photographer from their staff. They worked with our budget. Thank you for this. Over all I feel I got way more than I expected for a great price. At a time when you are spending money and possibly feeling anxious you really need a break somewhere. Lastly, our photographer who we were matched up with, Sara, was awesome. She listened to what we wanted, she took a creative approach to our needs, she was super fun, punctual and organized. From the time we stepped into Powers Studios’ office in downtown Portland and took a look around, we pretty much knew we had found our ideal photographer for our wedding. After meeting with Ben and seeing some photo and video samples (Moving Picture Weddings, sister company), we DEFINITELY knew we had found our wedding photographer AND videographer. The great thing about Powers is that they have a solid team of photographers with their own unique styles. When you sign up, you go through a photo survey and photographer survey. This helps narrow down the style and types of photos you are looking for on your big day, which then matches you to a photographer. We got matched with Michael, and met up with him quite a few months before the wedding. We had a ton in common, had a great time, and were on the same page for how we wanted our photos done during the wedding. Michael continuously followed up with us and met with us as the wedding day neared, and we could tell he was determined to give us what we wanted. I’m sure Michael is always determined to exceed expectations, and he succeeded in doing that for us. We were not only grateful for his professionalism and hard work in the 95 degree weather, but the pictures came out absolutely incredible. You only need so many great pictures from your wedding to fill an album, and we had no problem picking out favorites. I think we had as good of a time with Michael and our videographer, Alfio from Moving Picture Weddings, as we did with the rest of our wedding party and guests. These guys were amazing at what they did, and it becomes evident why Powers is constantly considered the best wedding photographer in Oregon, and around the world. Powers is very flexible with their photo style and scheduling. I was able to customize a schedule which fit my long and 3-part wedding day. It was affordable and there were excellent photos throughout the day. All the staff were great to work with. Turnaround time for the photos was quick. It is easy to pick out your photography style and pick out the album (both done online). They pair you up with a photographer who fits your style and is familiar with your venues and customs. Our photographer was professional and discreet. He was fun to work with in the photoshoot. He was also familiar with Vietnamese traditions. The weddings turned out great! Powers photography had wonderful customer service , but for the price we paid we were devastated to see our pictures. We had about 5 poses total, two of which were decent . All (and I mean ALL) of our family pictures were terrible . I know the photographer can't control the weather, but when we are all squinting in pictures with the sun blaring directly on our faces you'd think the professional would ask us to turn to a different angle or go under cover. Even offer to change the outside photos idea to inside the barn that was 200 ft away. I specifically asked yhe photographee to prop or pose us as necessary , and that didn't happen. It has taken me a year to write this review because it's heartbreaking to relieve it. We will never get that day again - never. I can honestly say we have 2-3 pictures total I'd show anyone , after that I'm heartbroken and embarrassed .

Looking through Powers Studios amazing portfolio and reviews, I thought there's no way we would be able to afford them for our wedding. We set up a meeting just to see anyway and we were surprised how they were able to fit a wedding package within our budget! We were set up with a photographer that met our style after looking at their sample photos. Although it rained unexpectedly during our wedding day, Juan, our photographer, still captured the photos we had planned with him and was very flexible and professional. They allow you to earn points towards your album and prints and because of it, I probably won't have to pay additional for our wedding album which is a huge stress relief. Erin and Seppi are very easy to get a hold of and I never had to wait more than a day for a response. Peter and James were the photographers day of. James worked with my husband, so I didn't interact with him much, but Peter was so easy to work with! He's so laid back and has a calming presence which is very helpful for day-of jitters! There is a very extensive process initially before getting assigned your photographer. In general, the company is very responsive to questions, they have good follow up, and t's very evident they value the image of the company they've built. However, we did NOT like the a significant number of photos that we received of our special day. We were very disappointed, to say the least. We contacted the company and discussed our disappoint and concerns and I have to say they are very willing to work with us to try to assure we are happy with the service they have provided us. I would NOT discourage anyone from using the company, though after assigned your photographer, I would ask specifically to see their galleries/portfolio to best assure you are agreeable to the specific photographer that was assigned to you and best matches the vision you have of your wedding day photos. I would be VERY clear with your photographer as far as expectations during the big day as far as guidance and suggestions for locations/lighting/poses etc. Be VERY clear about the types of photos you want/like.

The entire experience with Powers was great from start to finish. They were very responsive to my calls and emails, kept me updated throughout the entire process, and everyone I corresponded with was so professional and kind. Not to mention my photographer Kiersta (and her assistant) were amazing and we are SO happy with our photos. The best part is that we own the rights to our photos so we have them on a flash drive (a neat Powers customized flash drive in its own little box) so we can order prints or view them easily anytime we want. My husband Josh and I initially stumbled across Power Studios at a wedding expo. While we have no friends or family who had recently married, to give us recommendations, the word around the wedding expos was that Power Studios was "THE BEST." We grabbed a flyer, but basically blew past their station because we just knew it would be expensive. Josh and I were paying for our own wedding, and as with a lot of couples, we were watching the bottom line. However, as time went on, we had a harder and harder time trying to narrow down a photographer choice. We agreed that photographs of our wedding were something that just could not be screwed up. It must be right! And this photographer wasn't very experienced. And this photographer seemed flaky. Ugh! I finally bit the bullet and called Power Studios. I am so very glad I did! First off, they are super nice (very important), and once we discussed what we were looking for, we found that while it was a little more expensive than the other less experienced/flaky/just not right photographers, it ultimately was within our budget. And I didn't have to worry about inexperienced or flaky photographers. We even got a discount because our wedding was on a non-typical day (Monday). We ended up getting Sara May as our photographer. She was amazing! We had a pre-wedding meeting where we discussed all out grand ideas, and I was so happy that she "got it." We were having our wedding in the Party Suite, at the Moda Center, prior to a Blazers' game (we are huge fans, and the Blazers' are a large part of our family's life). Even though Sara does not watch basketball (not even little bit *gasp*), she was involved in all our plans to take advantage of the Rose Quarter fountains, the basketball court, and many other great backdrops for our photos. On the day of the wedding, all the planning, and the flexibility required of the Moda Center paid off. The photos of us on the court are by far my favorite, and cannot be replaced for all the money in the world. But there were so many great photos from the whole afternoon and night. During the game/reception, after most all the photos were done, and everyone was hanging out, having a good time, Sara mingled with the kids, letting them try out her camera, etc. We have so many fun photos that the kids took, including one that has Sara in it too. I will cherish that photo as a reminder of the awesome woman who helped to forever commemorate our wedding. Hence, any small extra cost was so worth it, and I would do it over and over again. If any of our friends or family get married, we will definitely recommend Power Studios.

Powers Photography was the first vendor we booked after our venue. At the initial meeting they explained their process for matching us with their photographers, which included a survey where our style preferences were taken into consideration. We had many questions and they were answered clearly. The price was a lot to us up front, but we knew we wanted to invest in the best pictures for our wedding day. We matched with our photographer Bitna, who took our engagement and wedding photos (a 2-day celebration). They turned out amazing despite it being a hot weekend for June. She went the extra mile for our 300+ guests, and she traveled to multiple locations to catch me getting ready, at both our parents' houses for the traditional tea ceremony, and the venue. Powers also gives you a copyright release so you can choose to print your photos yourself or share with others. Our questions were promptly answered and we never felt pressured to add additional services or buy extra packages we didn't need. We loved working with them and would highly recommend them!

There's an element of risk when you plan a destination wedding in that nearly all of our vendors were hired without meeting in person until the wedding weekend. I first emailed them asking how much they typically charge for their photography packages. I was very impressed with their work and had great reviews online. They were a little out of my price range so I thanked them for their time and wished them well. I never expected for them to email me back asking for more information about my big day to see if they could give me a custom quote. They really try to work with you and try to stay within your budget. They ask you to take several surveys to learn more about you and your fiances personal style and what you are looking for in your wedding photos. This is very time consuming but it was very helpful and helps you determine what style of wedding photos you want. Based on your answers to the surveys you are paired up with a photographer who best suits your personal style and needs for your wedding day. I had never heard about a photography studio doing this and let me tell you it makes all of the difference! We were placed with Zach and he was so attentive and listened to what we wanted. We had several meetings with him in person before our big day to hash out all of the details. Zach went above and beyond on our wedding day. Not only was he able to get every shot we wanted and discussed beforehand, he stayed later then he was contracted to get some extra shots in. We had an evening wedding and did a sparkler exit once the reception came to a close. We were packing up when he noticed we had extra sparklers on hand. He grabbed an umbrella and asked if we wanted to take some photos in the rain with the sparklers to get some really cool shots. They are some of my favorite photos from our wedding day and all because he was kind enough to stay late. After the wedding we got our photos back right when they promised we would get them. They even sent us our photos on a thumb drive in a beautiful box. They also have a rewards program that you can take advantage of to get free prints or discounts off on albums. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great wedding photographer.
