I found Ella through a quick google search, where her name appeared in an article about Calgary photographers. She offered suggestions for our outfits, and gave us the perfect location! She had no issue with driving out to the most beautiful lookout a drive outside of Calgary! She was incredible with catching our candid family moments, especially with a one-year-old! Not only did she grab shots of the entire family, but also some solo shots, and smaller groupings. She never stopped snapping, which was fantastic. The time to get our photos back was very quick, and we were all thrilled with how they turned out! The session was a perfect birthday gift for my mom. She gave us full access to hundreds of beautifully edited photos! I would absolutely recommend Ella to others. Thank you!!

My husband and I met Ella a few years before our wedding day when my family hired her for a family photo shoot, and after that, we swore we would never hire a different photographer again. We have since hired her to do a couple’s photoshoot, our engagement photos, and most recently, our wedding photos! With the sea of family and friends we had in attendance, she maneuvered family and bridal party pictures flawlessly. Every single picture we could have ever wanted, she got. She was working her magic every second of our big day. When we got all of our pictures back, she had managed to capture moments that we didn’t even know she saw. Ella was very organized and made sure to get all the details she needed in regards to itinerary, and moments that were important to me, before the wedding. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, we faced no miscommunications with Ella, she made the whole thing so easy and stress-free. For anyone looking for a wedding photographer (or any photographer!) I would recommend Ella a million times over. I am so grateful to have wedding photos that I will be OBSESSED with for the rest of my life.

We've used Ella for family photos on several occasions. With 3 young kids, the thought of a photo shoot brings dread but such a strong desire for a good outcome. Ella is very patient and has a great eye for the right moments to capture. She's also efficient (VERY useful for photos with young kids). She's also been very easy to communicate with re: bookings and suggestions for locations, etc. We've used a number of different photographers in Calgary and for price/value/experience, I would now always use Ella Michel.
