Upon booking a session with Shannon, she made the whole thing easy. The hardest part was the initial contact saying I deserve this experience. Once we had my date set, the whole experience was amazing! From arriving at the location Shannon made me feel like I was an old friend, we laughed and talked. She was great at posing and making me feel like a rockstar! It is my belief that EVERY WOMAN should do this! I see myself in a whole new light, and I’d bet you would too! Leading up to the photo shoot. I was nervous about dressing down in front of Shannon. I was to the point of wanting to cancel, my husband told me I wasn’t allowed to and had to treat myself. Once we got started with the make up and discussing everything. My comfort level improved and it become so easy and comfortable. I really enjoyed the session as it proved to me that I am truly beautiful and that my thoughts of what others may think of me really don’t matter. Looking at the photos and the response from them made me crave more. This session made me feel empowered and that I could truly conquer anything at hand. Even if it may seem scary and may not feel natural, still try and you will soon find out that most things we do in life is blocked by our thoughts that our mind creates. I wanted to get boudoir shots done because I have, in the last three years, steadily gained weight after trying to keep it under control post quitting smoking. My metabolism went down hill and I started having more health problems as a result of the decision to quit. I was not feeling like myself, tired all the time, cranky, no energy, and I decided it was time to work on strength and nutrition to battle my feelings of depression . When I was invited to Shannon’s Group, I was just amazed by her attitude and the pictures and the women in the group. I felt like it would be really great for me to see myself with the extra weight, as beautiful. I wanted to show myself that I could be beautiful just the way I was. I was so nervous I had to talk myself out of an anxiety attack as I was leaving the house. As soon as I got in the door to Shannon’s it was like a wave of relief washed over me, Sam (Shannon’s super friendly ‘therapy’ lab) came up and became my best friend and I completely relaxed. It was an incredible experience, and I can’t wait to do it again. When I was ready for my reveal, I thought for sure I wouldn’t like my images, that I would focus on all the things that I don’t like about myself, but Shannon helped my see the big picture and look at myself almost for the first time! I actually had a tough time settling on my photos, because I love so many of them.

I can't begin to explain the nerves I had leading up to the day of my shoot with Shannon. I was so excited but super self conscious. I stayed in my car for about 15 minutes outside your self talking myself up ensuring that I'd be able to do it that I needed to do it and the second I walked through your door I instantly felt welcomed, by Shannon, by Leanne and by Sam (woof!). I felt the amazing vibe and energy and LOVED the music choices that were played! Being a busy mom of three, I never find the time to glam myself up so being "pampered" by Leanne with getting my makeup done so fiercely and having my hair done was such a pleasure. I had to keep quiet at times and just be in the moment to enjoy that time. Seriously, when I looked at myself in the mirror I had NO idea who I was but I LOVED all the details. It made me feel beautiful, fierce, loved, sexy and delicate all at once. I admit, I was a bit shy to come out of the washroom in my first outfit. I covered myself and tiptoed out but I swear the love and amount of support Shannon and Leanne throw my way coming out really helped me feel like I belonged there! I felt that I could flaunt it despite my physical flaws and that's a big reason why I was able to just DO THE DAMN THING and rock it out like I was a model for 50 years haha! The whole session was the exact same feel. I felt hot. I felt sexy. I felt overpowered with sass and confidence which ultimately led me to be comfortable shooting some pictures in my birthday suit. When Shannon showed me those pictures I was struck wit awe. I literally could not recognize that person in the camera. I saw her and told myself wow she is beautiful, she is sexy and confident. SHE can rule a kingdom and right then and there I realized that THAT woman there WAS me. I just needed help seeing it. That is what Shannon does. She helps women see who they are when they are blinded by flaws and disappointment. She just lights up with passion when she shoots and you feel like light and love and it makes you want to do more! The whole session wasn't all serious either, we had so many laughs, mini dances and she really worked with you and your body to ensure you looked AMAZING! To me, the whole point of this is to make yourself aware of your beauty, inside and out! To make yourself aware that you can do anything and stepping out of the box can sometimes lead to amazing opportunities and results! I would and am going to do more sessions with her because I loved everything part of it and I love the fact that it sparked an old fire that I thought was out in my again to be the best I can be not only for my children and husband, but for myself as well.

I signed 2 contracts with Shannon Boudoir photoshoot-$350.00 Bankhead & Urban photoshoot - $610.00 I was promised photos I did not receive which as follows Boudoir - 15 digitally enhanced images & photobook Bankhead - 20 digitally enhanced images Urban - 15 digitally enhanced images What I actually received Boudoir - 0 Bankhead - 0 Urban (spread out between 2 photoshoots) - "19" because she couldn't figure out her camera lighting. which none were good quality or accessible for my portfolio. The total due was $960 (last payment on June 9th not paid if $145) So in total $960.00 - 145.00 = 815.00 she owes me however in the contract I signed WHERE IT ALSO STATES THE AMOUNT OF IMAGES GOING TO BE PROVIDED, states there is a non refundable 50% retainer. Which I understand but I signed the contract before the shoots, and when she hasn't even shot the Bankhead photoshoot. And she refuses to edit and release my boudoir shoot, in the contract it states that if the photographer is to cancel a shoot for any reason (she cancelled the Bankhead) my money would be returned in full. I wouldn't suggest working with Shannon because she's not reasonable with how everything turned out.

Before my session I was super nervous and self-confident, I even wanted to postpone my session, though I forced myself to not to that because I knew it was just the nerves talking. When I arrived, both Shannon and the makeup artist made me feel welcome, and at home, and we got to talking and got to know each other and it really helped me relax before shooting. During the shoot, Shannon made me feel confident, fierce, and beautiful, she even pushed me a bit out of my comfort zone by doing some of the session in panties rather than pants or skirt. When we were going through the photos and I was choosing which ones I wanted for my album package(which was a very tough decision, let me tell you!), I felt very emotional at how beautiful and gorgeous the photos make me appear. I had never seen myself that way before, and it was truly a shock to see such beauty and confidence coming from my face. Shannon gave me time when I needed it, but also made sure I was making decisions when I needed to. Shannon is an amazing person, truly inspirational, and I will cherish these photos and memories for the rest of my life. I will definitely be booking another session in the future(and probably many more after that!)!

Right from the first point of contact at booking the session, Shannon was amazing at communicating all the necessary details but also many tips and instructions for making this the best experience it could be. Having never met Shannon nor the hair and makeup artist prior to the session, I have to say they are incredible women who welcomed me in right away! I have admired Shannon’s work for the last year when a friend introduced me to it, and wanted to work with her so bad. When Shannon asked me to take part in a creative project, I was over the moon but anxious having never worked with a professional photographer. Immediately I felt welcomed in her studio, we broke down how the session would go and what I should expect and warmed up with some test shots with lighting and posing. I knew the moment she asked me to do this, I had to go in open hearted and open minded and at least try all of the poses she wanted to shoot and it was the best decision I could have made. She really is an artist the way she gets you to pose, the small ways she gets you to respond emotionally for pictures to capture those small moments. And sitting down after with her to go through the pics, I know I could have trusted her to pick images with me but I wanted the experience of deciding how to view myself. It’s so much more than just a photo shoot. I have to say that. My fiance always tells me I’m the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen when I have no makeup on and fresh from the shower and I always snort laugh because to me I never saw it. But looking at those photos, being fully exposed and just raw was life changing. I sat there and cried because I finally saw what he did. And when I said no to a photo she’d ask why, to see what I saw because we see two different people. She really got me to question my own internal fatphobic thoughts and love all my stretch marks, my arms, my chin, and my stomach; things I would normally say have no value. It was a life changing experience, there is no other way to put it. It wasn’t about seeing myself as sexy, it was about loving all parts of me and owning it. Being the most confident version of myself. I can’t recommend Shannon and her services enough, one of the best things I have ever done.

I was anxious about how the shoot would go, partly because it is boudoir and partly how Shannon will be able to work with my disability. Once we got started after the big hug greeting all anxiety disappeared, the shoot was so comfortable and full of understanding anf laughter. Honestly, I really don't know how she got such beautiful shots because all I remember doing is laughing, talking, singing, and dancing. Shannon has a knack of making you comfortable immediately, and allowing you to forget you are in lingerie (or nothing) and getting your picture taken. I would/and do recommend her whole heartedly, and look forward to working with her again.

I did a boudoir shoot with Shannon in October of 2017. Even before I had decided to book my shoot she was patient and professional when it came to my hundreds of questions. It was clear to me immediately that Shannon was not a photographer to make a quick buck but to truly help women feel empowered. I have spent many years struggling with my self-confidence. I started following Shannon's Facebook group in the hopes that it could help my start my journey. I attended her Digging Deep Workshop, which helped me start challenging my self-doubt. With the continued help of the group I started chiseling away of the story I had built up around myself. I was fortunate enough to be able to book a session with Shannon, which was one of the scariest things I have chosen to do. I delayed the session, Covid delayed the session, and then I finally had to take the leap. I had felt I needed to be in the "right" state of mind, or the "right" weight", or the "right" whatever else, but it was just not true. I had to choose to start loving myself "right" now. In the months, weeks, days leading up to my session Shannon walked me through my anxieties. She asked why I wanted to do the photo session, which was to try to see myself in a new way. She challenged and supported me to hold onto that, to be accountable to that, to show up for myself. I showed up for my session with all of the "rights" ringing loudly in my ears. I fully expected to dislike all of my photos, not because of Shannon's skills, but because I was not going to be able to see past my flaws. After the initial embarrassment of being mostly undressed in front of her wears off, it felt safe and comfortable. She talks to you a lot, so you do not spend too much time in your head. During the reveal, Shannon continued to hold me accountable to my goals - continued to encourage me to show up for myself. And guess what?! I love my pictures. I had a hard time narrowing them down. I have started to see myself differently. I am proud of myself. I did this for me!

I decided to ring in my 29th birthday with Shannon and get a boudoir shoot with her! A present to myself. When I arrived she took my coat, helped me with my things and proceeded to have tea and treats for me as I settled in. Such a beautiful studio- earthy, rich colors. Very calming, but deep and vibrant colors with greens, browns (wood) and gold. Absolutely stunning! I have followed and admired Shannon for years and it was wonderful meeting her and spending the day with her and Leanne (she does the hair and makeup- extraordinarily talented). Leanne took time to do my hair and makeup, get to know me and make me feel as comfortable and at ease as possible. She was so lovely and patient. We did a reveal when she was done which I just loved! Shannon was kind, fun, welcoming and so professional. We picked out some fun outfits from her client wardrobe and I felt so comfortable wearing everything and doing the poses. She gave clear direction and was so encouraging from start to finish! She showed me some pictures as we went to inspire me and we chatted, laughed and danced throughout the whole photo shoot- honestly making it such an enjoyable experience. I felt like a pampered princess- so empowered, focussed and confident. 100% recommend! Do it for YOU! You deserve it. Oh yes, I just have to say, one of my favorite things about the day was Sam. Sam is Shannon’s black lab and he’s the sweetest, most handsome boy. For me, he instantly made me feel even happier and more comfortable to be there. And that’s why she has him, to help with anxiety and nerves. He’s perfect.

My fiance had connected with Shannon online as she was looking for a same-sex couple to feature. I needed a little (a lot) of persuading but eventually agreed to participate. Shannon was very welcoming and warm, she made us feel comfortable and at home in her studio immediately. The session was very casual and lighthearted, and Shannon was very respectful and understanding of areas I thought I may have been uneasy with initially. We had a lot of laughs during our shoot, and in the end it was a very enjoyable experience which captured some beautiful and unique moments between my fiance and I. I'd definitely recommend Shannon to anyone. She also has a great dog that likes to hang out during the shoot - obviously a bonus.

My experience with Shannon was so fun, upbeat and empowering. She takes time to explain why you're doing what you're doing even if it sounds silly. Shannon starts preparing you long before your appointment, she has regular check-ins and makes recommendations for color, style, material etc. Shannon makes sure to take the time to laugh and enjoy the time with you. The wardrobe options are extraordinary, she'll pull a few and you will immediately feel more excited. She gets to know you very well in such a short period, and you feel super comfortable around her. Shannon makes herself vulnerable as well, telling personal stories and experiences, especially on her own body positive journey. Shannon takes time to make sure you're happy, comfortable and having fun. Looking at the photos after the shoot, she doesn't say much, because she is genuinely trying to understand which photos you love or hate and why.... to be fair, I don't think I hated any. I had Leanne do my hair and make-up and I looked like a super star. She really focuses on enhancing your natural beauty. Leanne also takes time to ask questions and get to know you. All around a wonderful experience. I have nothing negative to say except I am sad I cannot go there every day. I will note that I typically don't like being the center of attention, but this was quite a bit different, and I enjoyed the entire day.

My boudoir session was life changing, I was in total disbelief during my reveal. Definitely a most for very one to do a boudoir shot! Shannon was amazing! She made me feel comfortable and beautiful. I have never seen myself in that light before and have gotten so much more confident! She is always involving to make her photography better for you and for you to get the full experience. Loved talking to Gloria before and after my shot. Don’t think I would have done it without her! She is simply amazing. The yoga Gloria taught was such a good prep to the moves you would have to in the session! Michelle did my makeup and did a wonderful job! Highly recommended her!
