I sent the below email on December 12th, to which I am yet to receive a response. I have now received the digital and hard copies. This process was very frustrating and going forward we will not be using this company for our PAC family photo nights. Hi, I am still yet to receive my digital copy of the family photo I had taken on October 7th at Smiling Creek Elementary. This was finally available to order in late November and has now been 12 business days since the order was placed. I have now missed the deadline to send holiday cards home for Christmas and if it is not received shortly I won’t be able to do them locally. I find the lack of professional and customer service to be quit unbelievable. It has now been two month and still no images digital or other wise. This represents poorly on the school PAC and I believe that everyone that participated should receive a full refund. I am hopeful that you will make this right, I will also be encouraging everyone that participated in the family photo night to write a review of their experience. Thanks, Damian Stanley

Brought a set of prints of my son's school pictures. When I get it the package none of the pictures where cut out. I get 4 sheet of 7x11 with different size pictures on it. Lazy business practice and last time these guy will get an order from me

Was very excited to see my kids photos as they are in new school this year, and can’t express enough my disappointment. My 1grader pic were blurry and out of focus and looked like poor photoshop done by newbie.. Hair was a mess and even pose/smile.. ???? Isn’t it good photographers work to bring out the personality during a shoot? Just a quick note to fix hair and a joke would help!

Their customer service team responded to my inquiry within 24 hours and went way above and beyond for me. And like I said, the error was actually mine, not theirs. I am so incredibly unimpressed with this photography company. I innocently signed up to get my post-secondary graduation photos taken at my school where I was charged a $30 sitting fee. They may have spent 10 minutes taking my photos. I waited well over a month to get the proofs and that was a disappointment in itself. However, when I finally got to go through them I was dumbfounded by the cost to purchase photos I already paid to get taken. If you just want the photos they charge an astronomical $300 for a CD. You can get a high resolution CD for $150 but only if you purchase one of their also super expensive photo packages costing closer to $500 just for a couple poses. When it came time to decide to purchase I just could not afford that price. Keep in mind I was fresh out of post secondary at the time, I decided to go back and finish my degree after receiving a 2 year diploma a couple year prior. The last two years I was working full time, paying a mortgage, going to school full time, paying for school with my credit card and I still managed to maintain a 4.0 GPA. Graduation and receiving my full degree was an incredible accomplishment for me and something I would like to remember forever. Sadly I still have not bought my photos as I genuinely feel the price is so unfair. I already paid a ton of money to get my degree, can't believe the cost of photographs, I could have almost taken another course instead of paying for a photo package. Mountain West is definitely taking advantage of students not knowing up front the actual costs of getting these photos. If I had know before getting these taken how much it would cost, I would have hired my own photographer, got way better photos for way less and probably been able to include my dog, fiance, and family with me in those photos. I still remember my grade 12 graduation photos by Lifetouch and they took way more photos, I got to change into multiple outfits, they were way nicer, and way less money. All in all I just want to warn anyone else considering the company for photography to be aware of the loop hole you will get caught in with using Mountain West. Thanks Mountain West for holding my photos hostage and not allowing me to fully enjoy my graduation and memories associated with my graduation that those images were supposed to capture. I will also be emailing my post secondary institution about their photographer choice in the future and my complete disgust with Mountain West and their process, customer service, and prices. I worked very hard to graduate, and they definitely deprived me of truly enjoying the graduation experience.

The pictures are very dark. The backdrop options are strong colors that can make the face even darker. And even though you specify your order they can just send you whatever they want and when you ask you get the wrong order they will tell you that that’s what you ordered. Clearly a business enterprise the percentage of passion on photography is very minimal.

My kids took photos every September. I downloaded the digital photos in Oct. Unfortunately my hard disk was broke and I did not back up the data to cloud. I emailed them to ask if I can download again. They responded me very fast and give the link. They are really a professional and responsible company. Highly recommend.

Very friendly photographer was willing to include the family dog in my daughter's grad photos - dog not so willing. Katie, the head of grad photos in the office, was exceptional in working together with us to custom make a package of grad photos. They were very accommodating and fair and professional. If something isn't the way you want, they are willing to fix it. Overall, a very positive experience. 4.5 stars :)

Sadly I can't give the Corporate entity the same. I find this service to the Schools exuberant in cost. To the point of extortion. I hope the BC School Board will look hard at their contract in the future.

Just had my kid's first kindergarten pictures taken. What can I say, the photo quality is good but the setup... why not let the children smile and lough in a normal way? Why make them stretch their lips in a way like the are taking a dump or running out of air!!? My child has such a beautiful smile and your photos just ruined it. I still ordered the photos as memorabilia but for future I suggest you seriously consider your approach to taking pictures of younger children. Instead of making them adhere to a template, bring the joy out in them not stretched unnatural grimaces. FYI my wife is a photographer too so I know what I am talking about.

They just did my daughters Delta Grade 12 Grad pics...We are in trouble because every pic turned out Amazing..Yes we will be getting them all I am sure. The staff was awesome and very personable.and friendly. We went to my daughter's two best friends Grad Photo sessions for Surrey and the staff was in no compassion to Mountain West. Keep up the Great Work you do...would recommend you to everyone I know to get their school & family pics done. :) Also their Customer Service is Awesome...you can call/email about any issue and they will bend over backwards for you. The whole team from photographers to call in staff are very well versed on Customer Service.

Its been 7 weeks since i ordered grad photos at a ridiculous rate. no communication since! I phone and left messages with no reply I Finally got through to a person today who Said oh they are in touch up phase and will be sent out next week so maybe within 2 weeks you might have your photos. !!! No apology, no explanation , except we are just working slower ????. I asked for digital and i received 1, yes 1 digital Photo! ???? the yearbook photo. We will get the yearbook before these grad photos arrive which infuriates me that others have received their digital photos early as per another review Terrible customer service. You should let customers know when their order is delayed and why and should be compensated I guess because you have the school monopoly you don’t have to be decent to the individual parents who pay ridiculous amounts for grad photos. Shame on you !

When my friends and I were taking our group photos, the photographer was no professional by any means. He would tell us how to position ourselves as if he knew what he was doing but he rushed every shot and the turned out awful, some shots, one friends bottom of her face was covered by someone else's head, or when standing together, one would look like she's awkwardly farther away from the rest. They sure were glad enough to take your money fast before taking your shots, and even worse they saw how badly the photo's they took were and didn't even bother to do a quick retake to fix what a terrible job they did, I swear a dunce with a camera would've taken a much more decent shot. Not impressed. We took these photo's on November 22nd and as of today (January 5th) we didn't receive our group photos. I even got my Cap and gown portraits, and i took those shots on Dec. 3rd. And contacting them was a waste of effort because it's no help at all, no one answers.

Further to my previous comments, Mountain West was able to resolve my issue promptly and I really appreciate it. I received two good copies right the way. I’m very satisfied with their service. —————————————————————————— It’s been days since I contacted them regarding my daughters school photo. In the photo my daughter was not facing the camera. But no one checked the photo before they let it pass. They asked me for detail information, I provided it. And then after two days someone else just asked me the same questions again without checking the email correspondence. If they don’t have extra photos with my daughter looking directly at the camera then please just say so. Clearly no one checks their work quality afterwards. During one of the emails, they said maybe they can arrange another photo section with my daughters class, and I’m still waiting for confirmation on that regard but that went no where. It ended up with someone asking me the same questions again.

I ordered a reprint back in December, and am still waiting on it. Virtually impossible to get in contact with any one in the office (they are all away for Spring Break - are you serious??). Had some fun Christmas photos done with friends this week and the photographer was very friendly and very professional! The photo session was relaxing and fun plus the photos look really nice! As an experienced Actor and Model, I was absolutely blown away with this amazing studio! The set up is incredible for doing all kinds of different themed shoots, with a very modern touch to the over all feel of the space. There are large changing rooms to get ready in, so perfect for large groups. James was my photographer and he was outstanding, couldn't be happier with my photos! Piers was really great at getting me booked in and showing me everything there was to see in the space. It truly felt very welcomed and respected and I definitely will use Mountain West for all my future photography needs!

My son had his school photos in October, we ended up getting retakes this year. The school also had a family photo fundraiser night in November. By december 13th I received my download info for our family photos and nothing for my sons class photo. I waited a few days and emailed customer service explaining I have not received my purchase. I received a reply back that day saying that I could expect my download info later that day. I got nothing, I email again, same woman replies that they will send me the info later that day. 3 times, Nothing again - now I've emailed this incompetent woman asking for the name of her boss as its Christmas and I need my sons photo for our family members. This photo is our personal memories. She now replies at 2am saying sorry, but we have already sent you the info. I'm calling, no one answers and both numbers go to a voicemail that is full. If the school your child goes to ends up with this company taking the school photos, do yourself a favor and purchase the hi-res digital download, and take them to Costco or walmart and make your own prints. The photo packages are a complete RIP off...that is if they will even give you the product you paid for. Its 2020, the day and age of building good customer relationships for life (it's called generating repeat customers Pooja, where did they find you?)POOJA is a lazy liar that has no clue what it means to provide exceptional service. The photographer on family night was lovely, its unfortunate the administration staff dont have the skills to support the Mountain west team! This place is a joke!

Pictures we receive are always great quality. More importantly, our kids school has used Mountain West for school photos, and I somehow lost my kids digital photos from 2017 onwards. I contacted Mountain West with the hope they could retrieve previous years photos, and they responded right away saying they will look into it, and within a couple of days they provided the photos!!

Excellent School Photographers - My young son is sensitive to bright lights, he finds the bright flashes the photographer needs for the school photos overwhelming. The photographer from Mountain West Studio took my son as the last student of the day, turned off all the extra flash bulbs and used a standard flash. At the end of the day I’m sure this led to more post processing on their end - but due to their care and attention we actually got a school photo this year. I can’t thank them enough!

Lovely time taking graduation photos I wasn't exactly excited to take. I was accepted graciously, laughed with, and was given great options and tips on posing. As the incredibly awkward person I am, I greatly appreciated this. I try not to complain and I understand that you guys have a lot of photos to process which can take some time but it's going on 2 months since my son had his pics taken and I have not received anything, now I understand the school doesn't ship out the order forms until a few weeks after the photos are taken but by the time you guys receive the order forms to the time I receive them they will have been in your care for a month and a half not to mention I called 2 weeks ago and was told the photos would be mailed the following week which would have breast week only to call today to find out that they are now not shipping until December.. not exactly please with the efficiency of this company

I am an international student and took my grad pictures here, two weeks before I had to leave Canada. I told them that I needed to have my pictures shipped at my home stay before I left the country and since the shipping would have required more time, Thomas O'R found a way to get them to me before I left (delivered in person to my house). l'm so grateful.. that was amazing.

Now that Zellers is out of business, if you want that discount shop look for your kids, these are your guys. Every damn year the photos look terrible. This year was exceptionally bad. I can tell one of them was after recess because I can see she was playing outside. Unfortunately since its a photo, she looks like an abandoned child. I mean I get it, you're taking pictures of a few hundred kids in one day so you may not have time for hair styles.

Terrible experience. Zero stars*** rating Ordering school pictures for twins and could not look at files combined, also pricing changed between the separate orders without an explanation. Had to order separately (so families with multiple children would be so frustrated by the 2nd to 3rd order really why bother...just take them to Walmart)... and Package A at $36.00 for my son and $49.00 for my daughter which was because an un-communicated deadline for the initial picture was applied ( $10.00 late fee) but why is it $13.00 different and not $46.00 versus $49.00 ?? I had complained by e-mail previously that the order deadline was not communicated, this was answered and justified that the processing was difficult etc. although with digital files one click away on the website and delivery to the school this is certainly unjustified- just a money grab. I will have to end up paying for the late processing fee for my daughter as well as a mystery extra $3.00 for a school photo to send to family, as have ordered for my son so am stuck ordering with the inflated fee for my daughter or not having a picture of her ( the re-take was worse than the first..) Called to ask for an explanation and discussion was very unsatisfactory....will never order pictures again from this company, and will ensure that the school council is aware of all of the problems multiple families have had so hopefully next year another photography company will be taking over.

We recently moved and during our process of packing we lost my son's order form for his elementary schools panorama photo (the one of the entire school). Knowing that he will be going to a new school and will miss all of his old friends and teachers, I reached out to Mountain West in hopes that they can help me retrieve the photo from archive. Frriday evening I was scrambling to get the kids' schools pics ordered online. Absolutely horrible experience. Was promised to get proof within 10 days after the photoshoot, but have not heard from them for 3 weeks. Contacted them and was told that I missed the school ordering deadline and they charged me for shipping and did not receive the free print as promised. Finally they credited me back for my order and was told that I will receive them within 2 weeks. It has been over a month since my order was placed and I still have not received my pictures. Tried emailing them and received no reply. Tried calling and they don't pick up and their voice mailbox is full. Will NOT order anything from them and would recommend schools to switch providers. They reply to google review the same day I posted my comment but I have sent them multiple emails over the week and no reply at all!!!! Don't pretend you care on the public post and pretend that you will follow up. My order numbers were in the emails that you never replied.

I received my school pictures and i notice that my face was photoshopped without my permission. Whoever did it blurred out my acne and rosacea and made my face completely clear. This has caused me extreme emotional pain and seeing my school picture makes me hate my face more than ever. Thanks

I’ve been waiting weeks for my school photos to put in my Christmas cards. It’s now the 20 of Dec. and I still have no photos. They have lied to me several times saying my photos have been shipped. I was told that they had been shipped 3weeks ago. It’s very frustrating to deal with this company. I even offered to drive and pick up my photos. They said they had been shipped. That was almost 2 weeks ago. I could have sent out my cards if the hadn’t lied. They said they would credit me and they haven’t. This company is very frustrating and disappointing to deal with. They are hard to get a hold of and they don’t return your calls. I recommend you go somewhere else!!!

Came to Prince George to do school photos in fall at my son's elementary school. Ordered several things that were supposed to be for Christmas presents. Tried contacting them through e-mail and left a message asking when I should be expecting my order and they completely avoided contacting me back. What aggravates me is not that I don't have my items, but they completely didn't care enough to contact me. Why have an answering machine when you don't answer the messages? Why have an e-mail when you don't respond back? So here I'm out the items I have not received, I'm out the money I spent on it, and now I have to buy new gifts because the items were not delivered. If you like feeling valued, get your photos done elsewhere.

Ordered photos on Nov. 8, 2019. Took my money on Nov. 8, 2019. No Photos by Jan 1, 2020. Email them on Jan 3, 2020 about where my photos are. Get standard response of " We will get back to you within 48 hours". Re-Email them 6 days later with "its been more than 48 hours and we haven't heard anything". They replied " Hi there, we got your request.How can we help you?". This just shows they have no clue what is going on over there even if you use their contact us forms or email them. Thus, have to explain again where my photos are on my email on Jan 12, 2020. They write back 2 days later "Hi there, For very first time we sent your order to the school. I believe you did not get so we are going to reprint your order again. You will get your order in 3-5 business days. we appreciate your patience." Nothing received still and its Jan 30, 2020. Currently writing last email regarding issue and posting this up on Google to show the incompetency and disregard for their customers. Will probably follow up with our school to end relationship with this photography provider. In responding to the response: You said in your email just now "We were in the process of upgrading our systems to allow for improved services and options and apologize for the delays in service delivery The order was shipped to school along with all other school orders and then a reprint was put through ." The interesting thing was that none of this was communicated to our school nor any of the clients who ordered photos as evidenced by other reviews on google where no one will provide any response. If you were intending to action tomorrow, then it is already 2 months too late. For sure you had many happy customers, however, you did not do your job this time around...not only with me, but with our whole school. Wait til tomorrow, there is a long list of parents who wants to know where their photo order has gone to, and your lack of communication and 'upgrading your system' excuse just doesn't cut it as we have evidence that other parents have tried to email many times or call the office a number of times without any response.

When we received my daughter's grad photos, there was a scratch on one of the 5 x 7's so I contacted Mountain West Studios and they said to return it to them. Within a week and a half, they sent me two 5 x 7's. Great service!

I do not recommend schools use this company for school photos. It took almost 2 months to get photo's back. I have never had to wait until mid December for school photos to come in. Not impressed as their prices were higher than other companies but the service was much worse.

After purchasing digital download, the file could not be downloaded. Terrible customer service, if you can even reach anyone by phone. Went to the Burnaby studio to have my daughters grad photos taken. The photographer used the wrong sash ( my daughter questioned him right away and he assured her it was the correct one), sure enough it wasn't so we had to go back to have them taken with the correct sash. That in itself is human error, it happens. What made me give them one star is that i was promised SEVERAL times by the receptionist and photographer that the photos would be sent to the Yearbook committee within a couple hours and they were not sent !! There is a good chance she wont make the cut-off for the year book as a result. What infuriates me is that the promises made , were not kept and the phone lines were not being answered for HOURS when I was desperately trying to get a hold of someone. Terrible business practice to make promises you cant keep, especially when its a time-sensitive issue. VERY disappointing experience. The receptionist didn't seem at all concerned and wasn't owning up to the mistake, but instead made excuses.

Pathetic. Never has the process of school photos been this complicated and difficult. The website needs a complete overhaul, no one ever answers the phone, when you do reach a human you get the runaround. Pictures taken beginning of October are still not available in mid December. I have no idea how they are still in business. Several parents at our school are going to request a new photographer for next year. Also, take note that the majority of the positive reviews are one review accounts!

Mountain West Studios have a team that is the best! We have used them for our school, staff and grad photos. They have worked with us to ensure we are happy with what we have received. This was high school kids and I get some can be bratty but no excuse for the workers to be rude and snapping at kids. One girl was forced to take off her makeup. All I can say is glad I wasn't there. Charging $39 for a single 8x10 is bad enough…but then to ask for a $15 processing fee on top? Poor business practice. That puts you in the same category as TicketMaster (who doesn’t like to pay a $15 convenience fee on a single concert ticket?) or the Plumber who charges $160 JUST for the privilege of charging $125 and hour to actually fix the problem. Need I point out to you that LondonDrugs does 8x10 copies for $5.99? The unmitigated gall of you to charge this much! If I’m ever looking for a professional photographer I’ll remember the gouging here and shop elsewhere, thank you very much!!

Excellent customer service!!! After I downloaded the image file, I realized a small white spot was visible between my daughter's hair and her hairband. So, I emailed them about it and they fixed the issue very quickly. The white spot was perfectly corrected, and other photos were also edited at no additional charge. My kids school always uses this company to take school pictures. I have been ordering school pictures from them for 6 years. I am usually ok with the quality of their pictures, they are not the best but just ok. This year when I order my daughter's picture we picked the background and to my surprise when we got the pictures it was the wrong background. To make a long story short I emailed and called them various times. Two mailed orders came to my door both wrong again. Finally the 3rd time once I was really angry, we got what we had originally ordered. It took over a month and a few emails and calls. Their customer service is not the best and their staff ( at least the people who I dealt with) not the nicest or efficient.

Mountain West studios are absolutely awful. Orders take an incredibly long time to get processed, the phone almost never gets answered, and emails get ignored. After I ordered the photos I was told that it would take up to 6 weeks to receive them, 8 weeks later I still haven't received them and I payed additional for express shipping.

I came to the reviews and see that "the owner" has been replying that all shipments have been shipped and also giving different emails to "track" the packages. This is the most painful company i've ever dealt with. For any inquiries, it took at least 4 rounds of emails before it can be answered (and i'm on round 6 of emails to have an issue to be resolved). The first issue i had was the fees and the timeline for photo retake at the school. After that was painfully answered, my digital download was a mess. I did not get what i ordered and it's round 6 of emails and they still don't understand that what i received is different from what i ordered. This is really not rocket-science. Please, do yourself a favor and STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY.

They had skipped our class altogether and then squeezed us in on retake day. I ordered my photos back in October and was just informed they MAY be sent by Dec 19. Mountain West Studios Ltd has been the official photographer for my children's school. We love the photos that they took. The colors are bright and beautiful, the images are sharp, and they have tons of background that you can pick and choose. More than the quality of the photos, they have been able to capture those moments when my kids were truly being themselves. This is why the studio has won our hearts. Recently we decided to assemble the school photos from the past few years into individual albums for our two children, a keep sake we can give to them when they graduate. In the process we realized that we needed duplicates of several whole school panoramas. I wrote to the studio and was pleasantly surprised that they have indeed kept all the files and could make reprints for me after several school years have passed. Their customer support was amazing, and the photos arrived very promptly! We are so thrilled to receive them. Now my kids albums are up to date and we look forward to filling them with photos from Mountain West for years to come. And we may order more prints to make one album for ourselves to keep!

School grad photos: We told our son NOT to do the sitting fee, only to have his photo taken for the yearbook (no fee). The photographer scammed him into paying $25 for a sitting fee by telling him he needed to do it to get a digital copy of the yearbook photo. There is no digital copy! The only thing you get is the proofs. Since he wasted $25 on the sitting fee, we thought we might order something. The prices to order are ridiculous and then they tack on another $15 to ship the photo. One 8x10 would cost $66! This is robbery, and based on all the reviews I am reading we will NOT be ordering any photos from this company. Thankfully we looked at the reviews before placing an order!

I just don't understand the justification of $59.36 for 2 5x7 photos, and we have to do it for 2 kids. Paying $118.72 for 4 little pictures is ridiculous. Most people don't have that kind of money. My first time getting photos done for my child for his kindergarten class so everything was new to me and so many firsts with my child at school so when photo day came around in october - november 2014 he got photos done but once i got his preview photos i wasnt pleased so i did the option of re takes so i did the AA package which is a deluxe package:recieve 2 A packages and it included 2 free collages + CD for $48 . which i thought was a good deal seeming i wanted the disc so i can print whatever size i wanted to and i also got photo retouching cause my child had a scratch on his face for retakes so all togeather i paid $55 dollars. When retakes where happening my child and whoever in his class where getting retakes got brought to the school library which they where ascorted by the vice principle seeming every photo retakes you have to give the package to the photographer before photo is taken so thats what i thought but apparently they get their photo taken for emergancy reasons which i find odd!! So weeks go by and no retake package het so i wait another couple weeks and still no package and i kept asking his teacher but she said still nothing then finally i call the Mountain West studios and ask then why my sons photo re takes where taking so long so she asked for his school name and his name i gave it to her and she tells me that he isnt on file so i was shocked obviously. . then she told me to talk to the school so thats what i did and the school informed me that the vice principle did hand the photographer the package for my child so i had to contact Mountain West studios again and spoke to a ladie named Debbie and she was NO help she basicly said i had to prove that the vice principle brought my child down to the library and handed the package that contained my $55 dollars to the photographer so i contacted the school again and they talked to Mountain West Studios and said that they where not responsible for my order being miss placed and they wont re emburss me my money. So after 5 months of not getting any where with this i called them once the principle informed me they are not responsible for my money being miss placed and i ended up on hold to be connected to someone that can help me and it ends up being Debbie the lady who did not help me in any way the first time i was furious that ive got put in between this buisness and the school so i asked what is being done about this and why are you guys not corroperating with the school and she was so rude to me she asks me what package i got and i told her and she had the nerve to say"ofcourse its the largest package" like really why would i go out of my way for 5 months trying to get answers and my money back i was ripped off and she makes it sound like im scaming them im pretty sure you guys scammed me!! She tells me rudely that she will call the school and talk to the principle and will call me back and i said i hooe something is done or ill take extreme measures. So i wait for the call back at that time im really upset that she would make it sound like im scamming them. Finnally they call me but it wasnt debbie apparently she had a meeting to go to. This lady i was talking to tells me that i have to send them an email with my name address my childs name his grade his school name and what package i got and what background i got. Its been 5 months but luckily i remember what i ordered not to mention i have the package papers infront of me even the one i had to tore half off to seal my money in and bring to school for photographer. And i tell this lady why would i want your buisness after all this i dont want those photos anymore i dont want to support your buisness ever but apparently thats my only option cause they cant re emburess me my money cause they didnt get my package. But theyre willing to send me the photo re takes they took!! Urgh. So un professional! Worst exsperience of my life. I reccomend that you do NOT order pictures from Mountain West Studios and if your childs school is in buisness with them ask them to get out of buisness with them.
