I had a great experience buying my first camera from here - I spoke to both Derek and Mark who are very nice gentlemen with great camera knowledge. On my second visit when I spoke to Mark, I had such a nice customer experience - probably my best customer experience to date! He was very patient and took his time explaining everything to me, I really felt looked after and I am very happy with the camera that I took home. They really listened to my needs and requirements, to make sure I walked out with the best result. Will definitely be recommending this shop to anyone I know that has any camera/printing needs! I saw good reviews and came for passport photos. Didn't buy gears so can't comment on that part. However, as someone into photography myself, the passport photos I recieved were just... meh. Underexposed, bad framing, a bit out of focus. The guy took my photo, printed into two, and they were framed differently, don't really know what happened. Their photo prices are definitely not cheap too. Paid like $22 for two. Maybe they're better at selling gears, hence the good reviews. But there are better places for passport photos.

I always get my film developed here because you can get a roll with processing and scanning included for about $16. Mark is awesome and super knowledgeable and always makes my day, I love how much this store seems to nurture the photography passion in every customer without exception. Just went in with an item in mind that I found online, and saw that there was a sale price! "Shiraz" attempted several times to assert a different price, despite my correcting him twice. I was totally surprised, and I feel bad for the customer who comes in and doesn't realize the item is on sale. He briefly mumbled something about "the sku changed", which I could see was not the case (I literally showed him the item and SKU on the open browser tab I had left on my phone). Totally bizarre and disappointing experience, the dozen other times I have been here I would rate it 5/5

Mark was so helpful and loaded my camera with batteries, taught me how to use the new camera that I just bought and even gave me a student discount. I came in to the store with a very distracting mark on every photo I took. Even though my camera's settings are confusing, Mark was so committed to helping me out. He did some research online, even made a phone call, and was able to open up my camera and completely clear the mark from my sensor. I expected to have to pay big money and send my camera away for days to be repaired, but Mark solved the problem on the same day free of charge! Kerrisdale camera scans films to a CD. When I dropped off my film I was promised they would transfer the files toflash drive, because no one uses CD anymore. Came in at 5:45 and they guy wanted me to come the next day todmtransfer photos from CD to flash drive. Even after pointing out theres 10mins left the employee resused. Pretty bad experience

I went to the store located in Burnaby today to let them estimate the value of some of my gears. The cameras I took with me were Contax G2 with 45mm, 90mm and 21mm; Leica M7 with Zeiss 50mm f2; Hasselblad 500cm with 150mm and 250mm and a nikon FM3a. All fully funtional and all in mint or near new condition, I planned to use some of them to trade with a Leica ME which worth 3500 cad they say. I thought this is a professional store but I was wrong. The guy who estimate the value of my camera did not even show up. He basically just say a number in the phone and that's it. The very ridiculous price he offered as follows: Leica M7 - 1300 cad zeiss 50 f2 - 325 cad contax G2 with 21, 45, 90 - 10000 cad nikon fm3a - 225 cad hasselblad 500cm with 150 and 250 - 600 cad I did not want to sell my gears and I did not expect my gears get a fair estimate (same price as ebay or less), these guys are businessman after all. The value they estimated was the biggest joke I ever heard in the past few years. There is no way to trade your gears for half of their value. 225 cad for a nikon fm3a? Lmao! I'd buy a leica m7 under 1600 cad anytime 24/7. I will not go there anymore. Very unprofessional service for film camera owners. Feels sad for film cameras :(

They lead you on for how long film processing takes. Went to the store on Tuesday. Asked how long it might take and the guy told me it’ll be ready by Thursday. I came back on Thursday and he told me it’ll be ready by Friday. Friday comes and I still get nothing. So I called and asked, and now they’re saying it’ll take a couple more days, as their lab is crazy busy right now. If I had known it would take this long, I would’ve processed it somewhere else. The experience could’ve been a lot better if he had just told me from the start how busy they were and it was gonna take ~1 week to process my film.

So here is the thing; I went there to get my disposable cameras developed and scanned. I decided for their store bc I didn't want to support big box stores. A few days before I went there, I saw their services described in a pdf on their website. It clearly says film processing and scanning to cd. However, when I went to the store to drop off my films, they only talked about film development with their 3rd party ("the lab"), telling me that each exposure/picture would cost about $14. Imagine the cost for a 27 exp film! At that point I wasn't dure anymore what I saw on the website,also my phone was dead and their service catalog in-store didn't mention that service. Guess how pissed I was when I was checking their website again a couple days later seeing that pdf again. Feeling exposed to an upsale, I decided not to mention this when I picked up my film and now I will go to London Drugs or Shopper's for the film scanning.

These guys go above and beyond!! I'm not really the type of person to leave reviews, but the employees have always spent all the time needed to make sure I understand my gear and to give me photography tips. They have repeatedly stayed after closing time to make sure I understood everything before I left the store. Most recently I brought in a trunk full of old film camera gear that I found (not purchased from their store), and just had a few questions. I stayed for well over an hour while the guys enthusiastically explained to me everything I needed to know, while they helped me clean and prep the gear and pick out the right film and accessories. They had no obligation to be so helpful to me, but you can tell that they just love getting others excited about photography. Other times, I have gotten my film developed at their shop and they were always happy to look over my photos and give me advice to improve my photography.
