This place is amazing as they clicked my baby’s picture for passport in less than 10 mins. Another 5 mins to print those pictures. No wait time. Everything was very very smooth. Loved my experience here. They also gave me a digital copy of the photo for free.

Burlington Camera is my "local" camera store even though I live in nieghbouring Oakville. They have been my go to for C-41 development and never have been disappointed with the results. As for equipment, I shoot film and they have a rotating stock of used gear and darkroom section along with Joan's in depth knowledge makes this my first stop for analogue photography needs.

B Yamamoto

an excellent store, lots of darkroom/film supplies, reasonable prices, lots of used cameras, very knowledgeable

Went here to buy some 35mm film and to get some developed. Had a lovely conversation with one of the employees and they have a great turnaround time for film getting developed. Also a great collection of older film cameras!

Burlington Camera and Digital is a fantastic small business. I live in the US now and was planning to do a birthday video for one of my sisters. Normally another sibling would have physically brought photos for me to scan when they usually visit in March. Due to the border closure however I needed a Plan B. They scanned dozens of images and once I was done with the video file, burned it onto DVDs so that my family could pick it up from them. This saved me untold hours of scanning as well as the hassle of shipping the DVD across the border by Fed Ex etc. Their prices are also reasonable. They were very friendly and provided excellent service. I plan to use them again! Christine H Clinton, MD

Went in there asking questions about an old camera, and instead of selling me something, they let me know that honestly it wasn't worth it. I appreciate the honesty and would return to a business that offered that great customer service.

Really cool store. It was easy to find. Tons of film cameras which is a pleasant surprise (too bad they're not all for sale haha), very knowledgeable staff, good prices and they even have a dark room. Too bad there aren't more places like this around these days. I'll probably be coming here more often.

By far one of the Best Camera shop's around, been in sevice for many many years, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, Joan is the best person to talk to about your camera need's and more! Best selection of used camera equipment if your looking for that certain thing, you will not be disappointed shopping here!

I've been a client of Burlington Camera from film days in 1975 all the way to today's digital technology. Regardless of the technology, you will find technically accurate answers, especially from Joan based on her long photographic experience. Selection of equipment and material is representative of today's ever changing marketplace. For some photographic segments, like mirrorless they carry more than "big box" competitors. If they do not have it, they can order it. Also selection of vintage lenses, some of us like to "play" with is unique, due to their trade-in policy. Highly recommended!

RcD

I've been going to Burlington Camera for over 20 years and have always had a great experience and received a very good value. It's really the only local supplier of darkroom supplies, and their used camera selection has no peers. Highly recommended!!

There are very few photo stores with this level of expertise and knowledge. Not just rote information but hands-on, seasoned and intricate familiarity with all aspects of photo equipment and photography. The real deal!

Burlington Camera is a must go for all your camera needs, especially to get a great develop/scan job. They also have a eye watering amount of beautiful vintage and used cameras to peruse through. Their staff are next-level knowledgable. Film is a dying art, and I am so glad that Burlington Camera is the respirator.

I'm familiar with Burlington Camera since mid '90s - which is when I moved to Burlington. I always loved this store, the friendly staff, the wealth of information and the quality of the products. Bought my first 35 mm SLR Pentax PZ20 from this store and whenever I needed anything camera related - be it accessories or just some information - this was the place I went to. Over the years my hobby has changed but this store was always the place I recommended to anyone to go when shopping for a camera. BTW - I still have my 35mm SLR Pentax and although I don't use it anymore, it still brings back a lot of good memories.

Quinn Hollohan

Desirée Ó Céileachair

Popped in today to pick up a camera my partner was interested in. I'm pleased with how clean and well kept it seems. They have a nice selection of all kinds of things anyone into photography might want to pick up rather than order online. They have a large selection of second-hand cameras and lenses available. Prices seemed appropriate. I often feel intimidated in specialized spaces like this, but staff encountered were open, friendly, and knowledgeable about what was being purchased. I'll be happy to visit there again, sometime.

Marissa Kasnya

Great place with everything, especially if you’re into classics. Very knowledgeable staff.

Great service

Vast selection of gear. I was helped quickly, and got what I needed. I did feel instantly judged after I told the guy I wasn't very knowledgeable about photography yet. He also tried to debate me on where I could get my film developed, even though I've been getting it developed at a particular place for over two years... So for that minus a star, but I enjoy a good debate so whatever.

Chris Delgado

Anthony Bartolo

Very cool place for photography. The staff takes their time in explaining everything and are knowledgeable in most aspects of photography. Great collection of antiques. Everything from cameras to the computers used to edit the photos. Awesome to have discovered this place.

If you're looking for an old-school, service-oriented camera store, this is it. Their prices are reasonable, their in-stock selection is excellent, and if they don't have what you want, they'll get it. As a guy who makes a living producing images, I do a lot of research on new gear, and it's nice to get Joan's sometimes contrarian opinion on things. She knows her stuff.

Kristyn C

Drew Hewitt

The best camera store. Amazing selection of vintage gear amazing expertise.

Ivan Prasin

Burlington Camera is like a candy store for me. After browsing the store for awhile, I was drawn to all the vintage cameras. Joan was kind enough to show me several of them. It’s been awhile since I shot film. Time to get reacquainted with manual film cameras again. I purchased a few old film cameras that were still functioning. What a thrill is is using a 73 year old camera. Pure joy. Many people come up to me and ask about the camera. I’ve been back to the store every time I visit Canada. Can’t wait to chat with Joan again. She is very knowledgeable in all things dealing with photography. Thanks for helping me and sharing your knowledge.

Jonathon Smith

Great place to deal with. They might not always have exactly what you want, but they can order it. Staff is knowledgeable, friendly and easy to deal with. Beautiful selection of vintage film cameras and the only place I know of that still sells darkroom supplies.

Ed Primi

I recently bought a medium format film camera from Burlington Camera. James has been such an incredible help with finding exactly what I need and has been excellent with answering any of the questions I throw at him. I also recently developed some rolls of film and am very happy with how they turned out! I just wanted to thank James for his amazing customer service, as he has gone over and above to help me out. I highly recommend you visit James at your next visit to Burlington Camera! :)

I wish I'd known about these guys sooner. I had been using Downtown Camera's mail in service; I was new to film and their website was much more inviting. I finally started using these guys and I have to say they do just as good as a job. Instead of waiting two weeks to get film developed + receive scans, I wait two days. I've been into DC's store, and the guys at Burlington Camera definitely have them beat for customer service.

James Stewart

Best Place for Passport Photos.

Only place i buy any equipment. Most Knowledgeable staff around with lots of rare finds!

Family run business that know photography and cameras....great advice and help

Nick Marinac

Says they rent equipment.. but they don't.. change your website if you don't rent out gear. Or if you only rent out gear when you have it, maybe have a camera or two, everytime I go to rent there is nothing at this store and Burlington is a ghost town for finding rentals..

Tanya Da Costa

Helpful staff, a little bit of everything here including lots of analog gear

Tony Brecknock

Excellent knowledgeable staff, good selection

christopher mcLeod

Great. They have so much photo gear.

Roger Bird

Burlington Camera has always been a store that treats the customer properly. Excellent selection of film developing accessories and used cameras.

Colin Haig

Superb service, knowledgeable staff, great selection of new and used digital and film photo supplies. If you need advice, repairs, or suggestions, you can count on Burlington Camera. Don't let the fancy chain store guys fool you... these folks know their stuff, and can help novices or professionals alike. Sometimes I pay a bit more, but I get a ton of value. Special orders come in quickly, and they often suggest items that are of interest. I've never been disappointed, and encourage you to give them a try.

I can't believe I've only just found this gem of a shop! I don't live in the area, but my google search for antique/vintage cameras led me to their website. A quick web form and a reply was received very quickly to let me know they had exactly what I was looking for in stock. When I arrived, I was unsure what I was going to find; lots of places claim they have vintage stuff and you end up looking at things that don't really qualify. They have EVERYTHING you could want for a vintage camera, and great service too! From reading other reviews, I suspect I was working with Joan. She was knowledgeable, friendly, and so helpful in finding the perfect gift for my friend. Not only did they have a wide variety of cameras, but all the ones I looked at were in incredible condition. This is my new go-to for vintage and likely my other camera needs too - although I don't live nearby, I want to support this wonderful business and these kind people.

kconsoli

What a charming, efficient, polite and knowledgeable staff. Had to get some old family military photos copied and they were very helpful and able to do all I needed done. One of those memorable positive experiences and I will forever be a return customer. Sincerely highly recommended

Best store in the city for camera equipment or otherwise- if you just want to have a pleasant shopping experience, go here and look around. The owners are friendly, and very willing to help out when you're not sure what you're looking for. Was able to find batteries for a camera from the 1980s at this place. A true gem.

Fast and friendly service from a local small business. I used to just go to Walmart before hearing of this place and will only ever come here again. I appreciated the tips from their knowledgeable staff for optimal photo printing. Thanks Burlington Camera and Digital!

I've made a number of visits to Burlington Camera over the years, and purchased a fair number of items there. In retrospect, I'm not entirely sure why, given that almost every one of my interactions there has been tinged with some varying degree of unpleasantness or negativity. Today was certainly the final straw ensuring I will never set foot in this store again. I attended the store today to see if they might have any used micro 4/3 lenses. They had a couple used, but not the focal length I was looking for, and a little over-priced in my opinion. I then asked the woman with whom I was speaking (she is the store owner, I believe) if they carried new Olympus lenses. She responded, "Why would we carry Olympus? There's no value there. They're completely overpriced for what you get. I mean, you know this is true, right?" (I recall this was the exact same response she gave me a couple of years ago when I inquired about some top-end Canon gear, a brand I also shoot with.) I told her I disagreed with her assessment, and she graciously allowed that I was entitled to my own opinion, however misguided. I then asked her, given her strong commitment to the price-to-value proposition, why they carried so much Sony product, a brand that easily has some of the highest-priced cameras and lenses on the market. I noted the Sony 100-400, which retails for nearly $1,000 more than the comparable Canon lens. She responded, "If you're a beer-drinker, you shouldn't shop in the champagne aisle." Aside from the obvious what is *that* even supposed to mean, who the hell talks to customers that way? I've taken some 20,000+ wildlife frames with the Canon 100-400 ii. It is universally regarded as one of the sharpest zoom telephoto lenses available before going to the big, expensive primes. It stacks up favourably (superior in many people's estimation, including mine) against the Sony lens. She then tells me that, not only is the Sony lens infinitely better, but also the Tamron 100-400 (which she carries) will "blow away" the Canon 100-400! Now, the Tamron (like the Sigma 100-400 which I have tried) is likely a very fine lens, and tremendous value for the money. But it's not in the same league as the Canon (or the Sony) for build, durability, image quality (the Tamron is good, though), or speed. When I mentioned that the Canon is the faster lens, she replied, "Who cares? Who needs fast glass on modern cameras anymore?" This was a clear indication she was simply reinforcing personal bias, and had no intention towards objective discussion. She then sulked away saying in a loud, raised voice, "Yeah, well, what do I know, I've only been doing this for x (insert large number) years now." I suggested it might be a good idea if the store actually carried products that customers wanted, and then left the store while she was still yelling something at my back. I'm really not sure how you run a business this long with this weak a level of customer service skills. Arguing and shouting at customers? Seriously? I'm sorry you may have had some retail/distribution issues or disagreements with Canon and/or Olympus, but that should not translate to misinformation supplied to customers about product quality. I encourage everyone to actively avoid this store. The staff at Henry's Burlington have been consistently professional and courteous (the Manager, John, in particular). If you want a pleasant shopping experience where YOUR photography needs and interests take precedence, (instead of precedence being given to the opinionated personal biases of the store owner) then Henry's Burlington is your best bet. Avoid this under-stocked, over-priced, unhelpful store at all costs.

I discovered Burlington camera four years ago and kicked myself for not finding it sooner. It may not have the scale of a Vistek or a Henrys but what it does have is a fantastic level of customer service which is the reason I keep going back. I’ll be honest, I have a bit of a camera ‘habit' and enjoy the equipment almost as much as I do taking pictures - so I rarely pass an opportunity to pop in and see what they have in their ever changing used equipment selection. I’ve always found Joan who deals with the camera side of the business to be incredibly knowledgable, patient and cheerful not just with myself but with other customers who are looking for advice. I’ve recommended the store to a few of my friends who have all very positive things to say about the place.

I went here for a headshot for work. The people were nice enough, and they got it done quickly, but the results were not usable. Back to square one. Re. Response from the owner - The review and rating stand. I am not interested in repeating the experience, and refunding my money will not make me recommend your service. That said, I appreciate your effort in responding.

I brought in some film to get developed and it was ready in two days! I have a camera store in Haldimand where I live but I choose to drive the 30 minutes to Burlington Camera because of the exceptional service. BC is officially my new go to camera shop!

I've been dealing with Burlington Camera Since 1982. Last 5 years I've been dealing with Joan extensively. Her knowledge and extensive depth of information makes it worth going to Burlington Camera. For me it's an 1hour drive 1 way but I do not get this service from Henrys or Best Buy. If your an Film photographer there's plenty of used cameras by all manufactures with a quick turn over. Prices are fair on the used gear and they look after you after the sale too. Good selection of film in all sizes. They also have a great darkroom supplies and hardware. In short for me Burlington Camera is my first stop for gear & supplies. Thanks Joan, Rich & staff

Over the years, I have purchased a number of items, many of them odd ones I could not easily find elsewhere, especially used medium and large format cameras, lenses, and accessories. One of the few camera stores remaining that still sell darkroom equipment and supplies, including used enlargers, and paper, chemistry, and film. The store is a place I enjoy visiting and seeing what they have on offer and of course seeing all the old film cameras on display. The staff are great, although most times I deal with Joan. The real test in any situation however is when things go wrong. I just recently purchased a mirror-less camera body that seems to be more computer than camera. Unfortunately, there was an issue between the firmware on the camera and the specifications of the memory card. The solution proposed by Nikon was not doable with what bits I had. When I called Joan, rather than passing me off to Nikon, she took it upon herself to address it. She had the knowledge and bits to resolve the situation and took care of it for me. Thank you Joan.
