Great selection, great service, and knowledgeable staff. Chances are if you have a question they have the answer or know where to direct you. There's been a few associates that have over heard me giving information about some old and dying crafts and took the initiative to ask if I would mind giving them a little bit of knowledge on it just incase others come in asking for information on it. That is amazing and I loved how they not only asked to learn more but politely asked if I would tell them. That being said I only have one complaint/issue. They give Registered Early Childhood Educators from the school board discount but Registered Early Childhood Educators in the private sector get nothing. I would like to see this changed so RECEs get a discount regardless of where they work.

Staff are not knowledgeable about their products, can’t direct you to the general area of a popular line of products, offer no assistance to guide you to products. Come right out and say they have no idea what mod podge to use for what project etc. Just come prepared to know exactly what you’re doing and what you need. Or go to Ancaster where they are incredibly kind and caring and know the ins and outs of everything. Lots of customer service on the floor. Always friendly service. Never once a bad experience in Ancaster. Hopefully brantford will improve.

Michaels is a great store on its own. However the manager at this store completely does not know how to treat a customer. In front of a long line of customers yesterday evening the manager was making a scene with a customer who was having an issue returning something. The customer was speaking low and upset as it was a large purchase. He was upset and not understanding why it could not be returned. The manager however had to make a scene and speak to the customer as if he wasn't a customer, degrading him and making him feel small. How he couldn't return the item because that was policy and look at the box and don't speak to her like that etc etc. The issue is - he is still a customer. There is a time and a place and there was no need for her to speak to this customer like this. It was horrible. That is NOT a manger and clearly someone needs some training in how to deal with a situation. This coming from someone who has a ton of customer service experience. I apologized to the staff if this was their manager. It's okay to have bad days but it is not okay to speak or treat a customer like that. It was upsetting and I was extremely frustrated getting back into the car.

I am a huge fan of Michael's as a chain as it is the only big box craft store we have but I have been disappointed by the lack of products available at other stores. In particular they are very complacent about bringing in the new happy planner lines as they are released. The perfect place to go for all your craft and coloring needs! I go here at least four times a month to mainly look at the Art supplies and Adult Coloring books, I love to buy/look at the Gelly Roll Gel Pens and the new marker/Art sets plus coloring books. You can get a coupon on there website or app for at least 40% off your purchase, just cant be an everyday value item. I use a coupon almost every time I go. The staff are always friendly and ready to help you with any question, they are always making sure to come over and ask me if I need any help or have any questions. Highly recommend the Brockville store.

Michaels is pretty much the place to go for arts, crafts and hobbies. They have decent specials and there is certainly a wide variety, for all ages and tastes. It is a chain store, and can't replace smaller finer arts stores.

Went here a few days ago and it was extremely hard to find someone to help us out. The cashier was a lovely lady and put a smile on our face. Although the smell in the air almost made my nose bleed, the products are usually a good buy. I've only bought some jewelry here once since it broke a few days after buying. Other than that, it's decent, not bad but not really the best.

An amazing place to get all your arts and crafts needs. They have everything from markers and crayons to full sized canvas for paintings. The staff were very polite, kind and willing to help me find anything i was looking for. They also had social distancing measures in place which is always good to see. Overall a good store if you are into arts and crafts or have similar hobbies that require supplies from this store. PSA: This review is dated on Feb 17th 2021 as stores outside of the gta start to open again with new social distancing measures in place.

Michael's may be one of those craft stores that at first glance appears to be overpriced. The beautiful thing is they often have a coupon that offsets the cost to make your daily purchase a rather good deal. They have thousands of products and pretty much everything a crafter could want. Frome kids projects to knitting to leather work you will most likely find everything you need. Your local Michaels often offers craft lessons and has knowledgable staff that can not only help you find what you need but can also offer suggestions to help you when stuck. I have yet to visit a Michaels that I have not enjoyed.

Do not shop without looking for coupons on their website first. They frequently issue 40-60% off as it's their marketing strategy to price high and discount often.

As a 30 year old mother of two boys, for some reason every time I walk into the store either an employee or the manager follows me and basically harrasses me. The manager is always rude towards me when i have given them no reason at all for her to act that way. Its fusterating to the point, that I would rather shop some where else where i am comfortable shopping instead of being treated as if I am going to steal amd not pay for an item. They should learn not to judge anyone who walks into Michaels unless given a good reason to do so.

I've shopped here for years for my painting supplies. I had a return to make and the manager said she had to take 20% off my return because I didn't have a receipt. Weird but ok, I wont make a scene. Then I was told my total (which was $112 and change) was too much to put onto a gift card. I was going to be using that amount right away for a different project so I don't understand how $112 was too much. Was later told by head office that their store policy changes from store to store. Hum ok.. never heard of that for a big chain. I will NOT shop at the Brantford location again.

Updated Aug 7th visit. Last visit to this location. Walked up to counter to buy an overpriced item, but the 30 percent coupon brought it in line with online places, so I figured I'm here and it's local economy so why not spend an extra 3 bucks here??? But we needed couple more items, so we kept shopping. I grabbed it and looked for photo frame matting solid sheets as I want to cut it myself. That certainly caused confusion at the framing desk. So I had to wait for one particular staff member. As she walked by but helping another client she looked at us as I stood there she lifted her figure as in to shush me before I could ask my question. Then she walked by yet again and again the figure...my mouth was not moving...we were waiting patiently for her to return, but after the 2nd figure I decided my money is best spent online where I get all my needs met without waiting for rude staff and unappreciated time spent. However the plan was to still buy the self healing overpriced cutting matt. Once at the counter the dude looks at it and says this is not covered by the coupon? Lol. What really after this line up and I do not see anywhere on the coupon not for the one thing you actually want to buy.... We walked out and I sat in car and bought it online. It's here Monday. Ya. Good luck to this store. If you sent me 1k I. Gift cards I would donate them to charity as I will never be back in your store. Online all the way.
