I recently signed up for a tour with Brian after hearing about his highly-touted landscape photography tours from colleagues and other established international landscape photographers I've known for years. I just got back from his winter landscape photography tour in Banff on the weekend of January 13-15, 2017 and I'm still blown away! I'm THRILLED with all the images I took home! He knew exactly where the sun would be at any moment of the short winter day for the very best lighting. His local knowledge combined with technical expertise made this long-time "South-of-the-Border" American long-time pro photographer/master naturalist a true believer. Brian is the real deal. I joined Brian Merry for his "Cape Breton Colours" tour in October 2021 and was very impressed with the quality of the presentations and how helpful he was if I had any questions. He took us to lesser known areas in addition to the Cabot Trail that are great places to photograph. I would do another tour for sure.

I had the pleasure of interviewing Brian for a segment I do on The Weather Network called Candid Closeup. He's passionate and knowledgeable about the outdoors, weather and his clients. He knows the area intimately and his photography is proof of that. Brian told me that no matter the weather, he knows where to take his clients to get the best pictures possible. Brian took us on a photo tour to the Columbia Icefields and back. It was really good. He took us to a few places a short walk off the road like a beautiful waterfall with a rainbow just 10 minutes from the road that we would have never found on our own. We also saw grizzly bears, Elk, bighorn sheep and mountain goats. He knows his stuff. Great to find him while searching from home in Louisiana.

NEVER HIRE BRIAN MERRY FOR ANYTHING!! We found Brian Merry at the Calgary wedding fair in January 2013. Brian was ok to deal with up until we had paid in full before our wedding in July 2014. Our engagement photo session was for invitations & seating chart for our wedding but Brian would not sign a release form. We got a different photographer to do another engagement session. We wanted photo’s of different family members but Brian didn't want to work from a shot list. 4 months after the wedding Brian sent 1 email with our 1st draft of photo’s. In the past 8 months Brian has ignored dozens of phone calls & emails. We were supposed to have a picture slide show on the wedding day which never happened & an album but a year after our wedding still nothing. The 1st draft of photo’s are missing photo’s of family. We did not have any photo’s of just my wife & I looking at the camera at the same time. Our advice is to NEVER HIRE BRIAN MERRY for anything ever. He will never respond to any of your phone calls or emails as soon as he is paid. Please save your time and frustration and hire someone else.
