In this difficult period of COVID 19, the owner's kindness and the way in which the shop is set (hand sanitizer upon entering the door and maks on everyone inside) made me feel very safe. I would give 6 stars if I could! At 7 weeks, we brought our newborn to Kant photo to have passport photos taken. I was in a pinch and couldn't find anywhere else in Montreal to take them! Yasemin was amazing and the photos were done so efficiently and professionally. I subsequently had prints (small and large) and photobooks printed at Kant photo. I used their online tool to arrange the photobooks, and it was intuitive and seamless. I was very impressed by the quality (after being really disappointed with other online services that I had used to print the exact same photos). Then, a little while later, I decided to get additional copies of the photobooks printed for Christmas. At this point, we had moved out of Montreal to a different city, and Yasemin went out of her way to make sure we received them in time. She was extremely responsive to our requests, and I can testify that she went above and beyond to provide us excellent service and photo products. Thank you Yasemin and Kant photo!!

I needed a picture for my child’s documents. The pictures were rejected because they didn’t fit the requirements. When I came back to the photo studio and told about this I was told that they won’t take the new pictures because they requirement they are aware of were different. I experienced some stress, wasted time and money for travel and parking. Eventually they made new pictures, but the quality is very far from desired. When it comes to passport pictures, something that you will see in your documents often, I would highly recommend to choose a different place. The pictures of my child that I took in an automatic photo booth looked much more professional and fit all the requirements :( Still feel stressed and nervous. :(

Should you need anything done that's of a photographic nature, you might give Montreal's superb Kant Studio a try. They're not cheap but they're wonderfully professional. As an elderly widower mourning the passing of my wife of almost 50 years, I dearly wanted to compile an album of some 170 photos that I took of her over the many years we were together. It would be a way that I could honor her and remember her by. But during these very difficult pandemic times, who could I turn to, to process the pictures that I've kept on my hard drive? I got my answer from a fellow I sometimes work out with, and who happened also to be a keen photographer. As a professional himself, he unhesitatingly named Kant Studios, and I was not disappointed, not one bit: Yasemin, Kant's owner (?), was unfailingly courteous and professional, plus her service was prompt and of a very high quality. I recommend her outfit unreservedly.

I've been doing deliveries for Kant since I started as a messenger in the mid 2000's. Always super friendly to deal with and when they started offering the blankets with a picture weaved in, it made the perfect gift for my parents. Unfortunately, the blanket with an image of our family dog was just too perfect of a gift and I haven't been able to beat it since! Hopefully the photo shoot I did with my dog today will be able to top it! The session was super fun and the pictures look great! Always great service and i think it's important to support our local businesses! It's nice to deal with real people and not some faceless corporation. And they sometimes have a dog at the shop!

Yasemin was very friendly, but her photography skills (and lighting setup as well) for professional headshots are quite awful. I said not to bother retouching my proofs because even expert retouching can't fix the flaws her photos had and I asked if she can give me a refund, but she ignored my email and sent the edited photos instead that were bad as well (didn't apologize either). I didn't bother downloading them and went to Vadim Daniel recently to have my headshots retaken for a similar price, but his quality was impeccable! You cannot expect great headshots by Kant Photo Studio unfortunately (unless they hire a better photographer). I would go back to Kant for other items like frames, laminating, etc. but never ever again for professional photos. Please don't make the same mistake I did.

I've known about this place forever but only recently went in to have 3 art works framed. This is a family run business and the service is second to none. She took the time to show me various options and her advice was bang on. I'm extremely satisfied with the end result. We weren't sure if the floating frame option was possible but they pulled it off. The 2 smaller prints were water damaged on the edges and now look wonderful.

I had a perfect experience. The owner of the shop is a beautiful lady who keeps a tidy, modern photography studio which also sells many good-looking accessories and other items. She expertly photographed me, magically removing the dark circles under my eyes with her canny lighting. Passport photos are rarely attractive but somehow she magically made me look more handsome than usual. Not inexpensive, but well worth the service and results. The whole thing took 10 minutes, start to finish. I would not go elsewhere.

I am writing the review again as my previous comment that I left a while ago was “liked” by someone and I have also noticed that the company eventually commented on previous review. My comment was negative, because when it came to make picture of my child for the documents, this company was totally unprofessional and incompetent. Total waste of time and money. And instead of an APOLOGY they responded that my comment was not true. My documents would have been officially rejected with the terrible unprofessional picture of my beautiful baby you made, I just didn’t want to take a chance as I got the consultation from the professional agency that prepares the documents and refer to official requirements posted on official websites! Not amateurs like you, who refer to some invented requirements in your own folders that only you are aware of and create other people problems. You invented your own scenario, and decide that there is no your fault. If you cannot take pictures of children, just don’t do them! And if you dare to use the picture of my child for your purposes or publish it anywhere I will sue your unprofessional organization and you will have to compensate me much more than an awful shot that you made of my child and that I paid for! If you are not capable to take a proper picture of a child, just apologize, make a full refund and go and master your skills! I usually never write such negative comments but this experience was one of the worst and I never faced such an unprofessional approach anywhere!

They are professional, just not professional photographers. I had been here with my 2 month old baby for passport photograph. First time when he took the photo, they retained a shadow on my baby's photo, (which is clearly specified should be removed) If they knew their photography even 1 cent, they could have easily corrected. Passport Canada rejected it. So I went back to the store, and they said they cannot correct it for free unless they have a document showing reason for rejection. Apparently, a slip from govt stating reason for passport application rejection - "photos" doesn't work for them. So second time, photo was clicked for extra charge. and this time, they at least had the knowledge to touch up the photo using photoshop. Btw, either photoshop is a really big tool (which it is not) or these guys just want to show off their talent on photoshop that they charged me this time additional 10$ for the touch up! Of course you cannot ask why which would be tantamount to questioning their skills. Clearly this shop turned out to be a collosal waste of my time and added to my kids' discomfort. If you want to buy Vera Wang's wedding photo frames at a premium, then this is the place to go! :-/

I had to get some German passport pictures taken, which have very strict requirements. Yasemine at Kant Photo went out of her way to make sure all requirements were met. She offered to retake the pictures, should they not be accepted by the consulate. But the pictures were perfect. The person at the consulate said they are absolutely spot on. I gave it 4 stars becuz the quality of their service is satisfactory. I like the way they put my 8x12 printed photos in a neat white professional looking envelope with a cardboard in it which by the way I didn't asked for but they did anyway. I didn't give it 5 becoz I wanted the print out the same day but was told to come back the following day instead and so I left. An hour later I received an email telling me I can already get the print. I would have waited for it had I been informed this was possible. I like the guy in front though. He seems friendly.

They are always so careful. I've never picked up a bad print from them! They can handle large orders very quickly, too. I usually go there with over 400 pictures at a time and it never takes more than a few days.

Needed passport photos on short notice, and I was pleased to find a small family-owned shop. They gave me an appointment the next day and everything came out great. I happen to know a little bit about professional printing myself, and they are using some really great equipment there. Much better than what you will find at Costco or big chains. Give them a try.

Outstanding service. The worker was very nice and informative. I went to get my disposable camera film developed. She told me it would take two days and she’ll email it to me by Friday 2pm. But I went to check my email and she had already sent it to me withing 24hours! I already thought two days was quick and I did not mind to wait 2 days at all.
