Bad experience the square one location is open until 9 but their passport photo and studio in general closes at 8 apparently. Drove all the way to not get the service totally ridiculous. And it's too pricey I feel. Not coming back.

I had an unexpectedly good time at our couples photoshoot!! I’m not much of a “photo” person however we needed photos for our upcoming wedding and we decided to come to Magenta Photo due to location. Saman is a great photographer and she made us feel comfortable and at ease. She put us into many different positions and we never felt rushed or awkward! Maycee also reviewed our photo selections with us and was very patient and understood what we were looking for. This place is so helpful when it comes to taking family photos? As a family, we had no clue how to pose and everything but Saman is so good and patient. And she really knew how to position us and she was quick so we didn't have to hold a position for too long! And the photos turned out great! Poor customer experience... To start with, I don't even want to put a single star, but unfortunately Google doesn't allow me to do so. Very bad customer experience I have ever had in this country, and I don't recommend anyone to go there. And would never come again. We came dressed up with kids and just requested "ONE" family snap as we don't want to miss this moment. Although there were 3 ladies working in the store, and there was only customer apart from us in the store; the store lady was very stubborn to book an appointment even for the single photo. I think they should understand customer's situation and try to help them.

Pure scam. Purchased a Groupon but hard selling $300+ packages. Kept pushing the packages and wouldn't even show pictures unless we agreed to purchase. Then insisted on $25 if we decided to return to look at the pics again. Photographer was great but the sales lady was rude, crude and took it as a personal insult that we only wanted the Groupon deal. Look at the other reviews people and don't make the same mistake.

Update, Received my digital prints after 2.5 weeks (which is fine) but quality of digital prints are not impressive. I am not saying it is not good (except few images which are blurry) they are alright . I would not spend $500 again for 20 digital copies for mediocre photos. I will recommend getting a professional photographer on hourly rate at home. My previous review of 5 stars was done in store which they made me do. Staff was friendly as mentioned but sales are a little too pushy.

I called the store and no one knows anything additionally there are no managers present. All around incompetance. DONT GO TO MAGENTA AT SQUARE ONE. My experience today definitely deserved 5 stars ! But couldn’t have happened without Saman the photographer. She is just so great with kids. I was definitely worried coming in with a 19 month old and a 7 week old but she was on fire ! Took awesome photos and her interaction with my kids was truly sweet ; making them smile, laugh, being funny and just trying to do everything in her power to get those perfect photos. It was so hard for me to decide which pictures I wanted , if it wasn’t for my budget I would have taken them all! This was my second time coming back to this studio . My experience the first time was good too but it really makes a difference the person that is taking the photos . And I will forsure request her next time too . Thanks for everything!

We have been coming to Magenta Square One to capture our most precious moments for the past three years: maternity shoots, newborn photo shoots, children’s milestones and family photos. Our older daughter is a very cautious child and by the end of the shoot she hugged Saman and kissed her on the cheek. It was beautiful to watch her laugh, have fun and create memories at her sister’s newborn photo shoot. Did our family photos with my 10 month old niece and we had a wonderful experience with Aranja. At first, we thought the time we booked for was not enough, especially with the background changes. Despite only having 45 mins, Aranja did so well with our transitions, and the photos she captured were fantastic! One thing to mention is that I wished they took better care of their props, or maybe replaced them, as most (if not all) are very old, and worn out. Definitely pricey, but our experience made it worth it. Thank you Aranja!

Although they returned my money, a feedback may help others to choose the expected service quality here. The receptionist/photographer was very rude and was not at all friendly. Another thing is even after calling themselves a pro photo-studio, they don't use any lights for the passport photos, only an old Olympus camera with On-Camera flash. When I pointed these concerns and mentioned that the digital copy on the camera looks extremely underexposed with shadows under eyes and chin, the answer was "I will edit in the Photoshop..", What ? Really ?... After looking into the final product I was extremely disappointed, it was an awful photo. After a long argument, she offered to return money. Avoid it if you are looking for quality photos and value for money, also they are expensive than other options available.

I was there on the evening of 17th Mar 2020. The staff refused to take a copy of my picture and was extremely rude in their explanation to the tune that they said I should goto Walmart instead and that Walmart was doing illegal copies and flouting the law. My opposition to the staff's views resulted in them arguing over a small issue. I would not ever return to this store and would urge anyone to not be subject to this shoddy behavior by their staff.

My 3 month can get pretty fussy at times but I must say, the photographer, Natasha, was very kind and patient. She gave us lots of time to cool our crying baby down and try different ways of taking photos. She was also very kind and gentle with him. Once the session was over, Nasim, talked us through the various packages and was patient with us while selecting photos. Overall, our experience was amazing and we are extremely happy with the shots we got. I would definitely visit again.

After thinking about my previous experience, I have to say that this time around wasn't what I expected, place wasn't as clean. They made us wait for no reason due to the fact there wasn't anyone in front of us. At the same time there wasn't much choices on the photos and I didn't appreciate that the guy had to make sure I had posted a good review even asked me to see it before I posted just to make sure if needed to be adjusted. The pictures were great.the staff was very helping and awesome but i have to say that the company is a RIP OFF. I paid over $400 for 11 pictures and it does not even include a soft copy! There are other studies who will do the photo shoot and will give you the soft copy for a lot cheaper price. I bought a coupon which came for only one photo deal (my bad, i got swayed into buying more photos) I was not warned by the studio people that everything costs a lot (including soft copies). over all the service was good but the prices they charge is exorbitant. If you are selling a deal please inform people that it will cost them 10 times more than they expected! Not happy with what I got for the price. Hope the owners read it!

We took advantage of the high value promotion offered by Magenta Photo, which was very helpful in allowing us to secure a family photo this year. In part because of the age and attention of the children, we had some difficulty with the length of each set and voiced our concerns to the photographer, who had been working really hard to do a great job. She responded by calling in a team member to help and both did their very best to achieve shots we would be happy with. We did not give 5 stars because we would have preferred to start with our favourite set in order to take advantage of the kids' best energy and missed some good shots as a result. Having said that, we got what we needed, the shots we got make us smile, and we are grateful. Five stars for problem solving!

I booked a session for one photo and a digital copy. The cost was $50 plus tax. When I booked the session I expected to get a digital copy that I could print out for my relatives. I told them my plans of printing out the image at the time of booking. After the session Magenta told me the digital copy can't be printed because the resolution wouldn’t support a print larger than the size of a postage stamp. I tried to explain to them that I expected to be able to print out a photo similar to the 8x10 I was being given but they wouldn’t hear it. To make matters worse when I asked to speak to the manager to see if I could get a slightly higher resolution all of the staff, including the manager became argumentative including the employee that originally booked me! They were more concerned about being right then what I had to say. Poor value, poorer client services. Beware!

We made a purchase in maternity apparel Thymes store in Yorkdale Mall late spring 2018. We have been presented with $35 magenta photoshoot certificate with claimed value of $175 that expires in October 2018. We booked an appointment for 2PM August 19,2018 at Fairview Mall location. Upon the arrival we could see that you have three packages available with the least (MINI) one starting $150 which includes 15 minutes photosoot and 5 photos. Your representatives refused to honor the claimed value of the certificate ($175) even though the certificate is still valid (expiration date not reached). They discussed it with themanager over the phone and refused to provide 5 photos with MINI package that we qualified for. But offered only one photo, of a questionable quality by the way, instead. They disappointed me but more importantly they disappointed my pregnant wife with this action. We are very unhappy with the dishonesty of the company or the decision-making people who brought this stress to my expecting wife and her baby. I believe that it wouldn't ruin the financial welfare of your company if the employees would honor the certificate as they should have been. November update: I brought the above facts to the attention of the customer support but no-one even replied back to my complaint....

Why is this place still in business ? Just close up so that a proper, professional studio can take your spot. They subjected my 1 year old to unnecessary waiting on the first day, used me as the prop and really had no idea what they were doing when it comes to taking passport pictures for kids. When I went to pic the pictures up the next day they couldn't even find it and had no sense of decency to even apologize for the inconvenience of loosing the pictures. The callous , indifferent, lowly paid photographer who was there the first day just nonchalantly smirked "you'll have to re-shoot" without even making eye contact as she rushed off to get back to doing absolutely nothing! Never going back - I'd love to see this place have negative stars because they aren't even worth the 2 stars they have at the time of writing.

We got photoshoot done for our new born baby at the square one location and it was truly an amazing experience.Our photographer Saman knows her stuff exceptionally well and was so easy worth my 2 week old.She even helped us selecting pictures and gave us time to sit back and select..we got lovely pictures,came for the 10 picture package ended up taking 20 pictures because all of them were so great.Thanks for the great experience , looking forward to our prints board and more shoots in future.Cheers!

We booked a family photo session and purchased the 10 digital files for $350 option. The studio has a ton of props and a very usable dressing/green room where you can prepare/touch up before the shoot. The photo shoot itself was very smooth. The photographer and her assistant were very professional and helpful. Most importantly, the pictures are AWESOME! I am a photography enthusiast myself and I know a good pic when I see one. They have an addon/upsell option to get a collage printed, but I found it to be too expensive. Instead, order the digital photos and use photo software to generate a collage. In conclusion, Magenta is Expensive, but worth every dollar.

So all photos they took, were dark becase there was not enough light there and for my girl had shadow behind her that was illigal for PR card photo. When we requested to take them in room they started to argue that rooms are for family photos and here only we can take photo for passport and ..... Finally because we had paid for photo first ....... l never ever go there.

I would've loved to give 5 stars but I had an issue with the packages. Our photographer Natasha was amazing and the studio was very nice; however, you basically have two packages to choose from... $150 for three digitals or $250 for fifteen digitals. Well, I wanted to purchase seven photos, so the only option I had was the $250 package. Doesn't make sense to me at all, especially since ONE digital is $50 on it's own whether you buy a package or not. I ended up getting the $150 package. Would I go back? No... unless they add some other reasonable package options.

Standardized photography. Their equipment produce good photos. But photographers are clearly beginners, its not bad, but their ok. I think if you stick to the promotion packages (appx $35, 1 digital image) it is worth the money. If you need multiple images, hire a local photographer because it will be cheaper ($200/hr), quality will be same or better.

We spent 45 minutes with Magenta for our family portraits. The photographer was very detailed when explaining the process. We had three outfit changes with a different background for each. We couldn't choose just one pose so we ended up picking a package of 20 poses for approximately $400+tax. We don't do this often and our pictures will last a lifetime. It was definitely worth the money we spent. The only con I can think of is that all the photo backgrounds are generic and not unique to the family.

I had a very bad experience at this location after the holidays... I thought it would be a slow time and took advantage of a $45 promotion. There were no COVID precautions (no hand sanitizer avilable, very dirty waiting area, no staff cleaning but sitting behind desk socializing and taking off masks to eat and drink, the garbages in the restroom and change room were overflowing with tissue and trash. This was not worth $300 for 10 digital photos and 3 hour long photoshoot... I highly recommend to find better service and expertise, have a better experience and support a local independent photographer! I wish my family and I walked out!!!!

Came here for some passport photographs. I'm not sure if it was the lighting or the photography or camera but the pictures given did not come out nice. I generally get my photos done at another studio but since that studio was closed that day, I ended up at Magenta. The photo quality is very different from my last place.. the pictures came out patchy here. And when I told her I wasn't satisfied with the pictures and if nothing could be done I would prefer a return but apparently, they don't do returns. I would suggest that in that case you should only make the customer pay after giving the photos. I would never go there again

Rip off. They charge insane amount to give the digital copy. When the quoted the price, i thought they were going to give me a framed copy of each photo! $50 plus tax PER digital copy is rip off. You can hire a photographer or find another studio and get much better deal. Don't fall for their deals or coupons because all the deals that you get are on inflated prices and the price that you will pay with the deal is still insanely high and price per digital copy still comes to $50 plus tax.

Demar, our photographer for our shoot, was very efficient at doing what he does and knowledgable when coming to pick the right photos and packages for us. He was also very patient with us as we were a family of 6, which can take forever trying to figure out which photos everyone likes best, but he made it easier with his great advice. We really appreciated it. The whole process, in fact, was very quick and seamless; they had a change room and waiting area available and the studio was pretty clean and organized with props available on site. I'm not sure of the other photographers that work there, but Demar was a wonderful and friendly photographer to work with!

I would highly recommend this place to friends! The only issue I see is the pricing! It is really expensive, but at the end you pay for the quality of the pictures and it is stunning!

I loved my experience with Natasha at Magenta Photo studio (square one location) so so much, I don't even know where to begin. This was my second shoot with them and I had my Fiance fly down from Vancouver to do our Engagement picture shoot with Natasha. Due to unforeseen circumstances, we had to do the shoot one hour late and they were very accommodating. The studio was clean and staff was courteous and very helpful during our shoot. Our pictures were phenomenal! My family was in aw when they saw the pics. We have omega sized some of the pictures on Canvas to display on our wedding day and it will be a great touch to the decor. All the pictures were great and we had a very hard time narrowing down which ones to use. Once again thank you Natasha we look forward to working with you again.

She gave us the best ideas for the pictures and we loved them all. If we do another shoot there it will definitely be with her. Aside from the photographer the quality of the pictures are AMAZING. The prices are way too expensive but you definitely get what you pay for.

I came here for a 45 minute session to take business/social media photos. Saman was very helpful in my poses as I can be quite awkward so I appreciate that. After a few minutes, I was more comfortable in front of the lens. Rob helped me pick from 40+ photos and narrow it down to only one. He said every picture was lovely and he was very nice :) I would definitely take photos here again if needed.

We had the most pleasant experience at your store last night ie. Thursday 1st Nov 2018. My daughter urgently needed some passport size photos taken and after visiting a number of possible places at Square One Mall, finally we had the most efficient and professional service by your staff, Habid. We received the nice photos in time for sending overseas before the courier's closing time. This place is not for disabled kids...booked xmas pictures session on November because it gets busy and they couldn't work with my ASD son. So close to December all other place were booked so I ended without xmas pictures.

Loved this studio, it was so warm and inviting. Saman had such a great attitude for our session. She really made us feel comfortable especially with our two small children. We were greeted by Rob who helped us through the process of picking our photos and coordinating it properly in a frame. I usually have a creative eye in photos but he just added that extra touch.

I came by to Magenta to get a photoshoot for my twins and their two siblings. Aranja was my photographer and Saman was the assistant. I thought it was going to be a nightmare experience dealing with the twins especially since one of them requires a lot of attention. Right from the start, Saman was able to grab their attention and take wonderful pics!! It was a sigh of relief!!
