Laurie MacBrown Photography has an amazing service model that takes the pain and anxiety out of the photography experience. As a 54 year old professional woman in my middle adult years, I have been really dissatisfied previously with pictures that haven't looked like me or reflected who I am as I see myself. I went to Laurie looking for fresh head shots for myself and my husband, and some beautiful photographs of us as a couple. We got so many great pictures, we had trouble narrowing them down! The wardrobe and beauty prep guides made me feel confident and equipped for a great phot shoot, and the consultation with Laurie ahead of time put me at ease and gave me a chance to tell her what was important to me. She listens well. At the studio, Barbara did a great job on my hair and makeup throughout the shoot, providing different looks for different outfits and dress codes, from casual to business to formal. She assisted me in selecting jewelry and accessories, and generally ensured I was supported throughout my wardrobe changes. The reveal was a lot of fun and gave me what I was looking for -- a variety of pictures that all looked like my husband and me, captured our personalities and spirits, give us renewed confidence in our professional images, and some really gorgeous, romantic pictures together that we and our kids will treasure for years to come. I highly recommend this luxury experience! You'll want to purchase lots of pictures, so budget accordingly. This leveled-up photography is not inexpensive, but it is absolutely worth it!

Like so many of us, I'd put off having photographs taken of myself because I was waiting for some magical time when I weighed the right amount or my hair was the right length or any number of excuses we use to not to put ourselves in front of the camera. It was really for my children's sake that I finally just committed to the process, and I'm SO HAPPY I did! Fantastic experience from start to finish. I booked a personal branding/marketing photo session. We had an initial Zoom consult, then completed an in-depth questionnaire so that Laurie completely understood what I was looking to achieve. As I’m launching my new real estate career, this session was so important to get right. I’m a strong, confident, accomplished woman with maturity & a wealth of life experience on my side yet allowed insecurities to creep in. It was an emotional experience knowing that potential clients may use the photos that I present to decide whether or not I look like the kind of realtor that they would like to work with. All of those insecurities left the day of the shoot. Barbara’s professional make up & hair styling made me look & feel beautiful. She was also there throughout the session on location making sure my hair remained in great shape together with touching up my makeup. Laurie has a pop up change tent so it was easy to get changed for the various “looks” & lifestyle photos. She made the entire session so much fun. Be prepared to be spoiled for choice when it comes to your selections. I couldn’t decide on 10 photos so invested in additional images. My next session with Laurie will be for a glamour portrait. Laurie & Barbara are a great team, you’ll have a blast, highly recommended.

I just picked up my photographs from the Glamour Session I did with Laurie. And I can't stop looking at them! I keep marveling at how beautifully I was captured by her and her magic camera. To help you understand Laurie's process, here's my version of what happened: My session started as I entered her studio with my outfits (we previously had an initial consult by phone so I knew what to expect), my makeup-free face and my unstyled hair. You know, that "Before" shot we are all familiar with from the makeover shows we've seen in magazines or watched on TV. As Laurie hung up my clothes, Nadya started on my hair and makeup. I sipped tea and listened to a great playlist Laurie chose for the day while Nadya patiently curled my hair, applied false eyelashes and expertly made me up so that I was camera ready. When I first checked myself out in the mirror, I gasped with delight at "This Judy"!! As I put on my first outfit, I began to get nervous. Cameras and all that, right? This is no selfie shot with your bestie! Throughout the shoot Laurie made me feel at ease while she provided guidance on what to do with my various body parts in order to capture the most flattering shots. My time with her flowed easily as I changed outfits and we tried various angles and poses. All too soon it was over, but the cool part about a photo shoot is that you get to go back for the reveal! Which I did a few weeks later. Laurie printed my best shots as 8x10's and there were so many that I liked! Literally all of them, in fact. Once again, Laurie was patient, helping me to consider which shots would be appropriate for which purpose e.g. business card and other business applications, photos for my kids and a special someone, as well as maybe just perhaps the whole lot as a start to a portfolio for 'senior' modelling! I made my final choices with Laurie's guidance and I couldn't be happier. As women and moms we are so often behind the camera - I chose this photo session as a way to mark the start of a new chapter in my life. My 60's. Bring it on!!
