This superstore is good during the day. You can get pretty much anything your looking for. After 5pm is another story. The seafood department closes. So you can only get whatever packaged item on the shelf. Same goes with the deli. No shaved meats or cheese. And there is no staff out on the floor available to help. The only thing to redeem itself after a lackluster shopping trip is the liquor store attached next door.

This store sells the Joe Fresh line of clothing which is very affordable yet well constructed for the most part. They have great sales too! The produce tends to be a bit pricey. I really like their selection of housewares which too, is often marked down as much as 50%.

Nothing extraordinary here; just your typical rural outlet. Most of the people working at the food/lunch counter desperately need people skills. A couple have been outright rude. I normally use the PC Express online pick up at Atlantic Superstore Liverpool which is super - friendly, professional staff who are always helpful and efficient, but going into the store has generally been a completely different experience. Deborah the shift “manager”, who I have made many complaints about is rude, never helpful and when I tried to use a family / friend’s discount I was informed about through my family member who works there, Deborah spoke to me as if I’d hacked the system to save $15 - all in front of staff and other customers. As a professional (yes tell Debs I’m not a thief) who works in labour market development and employment, I was also floored when I said who my family member was (in Deborah’s staff) yet she kept telling me “I have no idea who your family member is”. She spoke to me as though I was trying to con them ! It was humiliating! What a way to value your employees and customers. I will be shopping at Sobeys Liverpool from now on because they are always helpful, professional - and my family and I value that in the services we choose.

Sadly I have seen some scary food handling at this Atlantic Superstore. And in discussions with my neighbours I am not the only one in the Yarmouth area who has noted and expressed concerns. In the past summer I reported to the local store, and then to Atlantic Superstore head office the foul odour of rotting fruit left sitting in a big brown box in the middle of the produce aisle.The decomposing fruit was oozing out of the bottom of the box and the floor was tacky to walk on. It was not uncommon the look for lettuce and find it decomposing on the shelf. This of course made me afraid to buy anything that is not pre packaged or anything handled within the store. I was assured by their head office someone would contact me , however they have not. In mid Dec I once again ventured into the store . My attention was captured by the young male employee. He was picking through the small plastic containers of berries, removing the most rotted ones and placing the remainder in other containers. No point in reporting this since there was no response to the first phone call I made. I am grateful to know that Sobeys and Walmart are both nearby. Keeping a grocery store clean and introducing safe food handling practices should not be such a difficult task, unless the store feels it can afford to see customers walk out and go to their competitors. Now if I go to Superstore I buy only packaged items, and I don't buy produce or meat. I also make a point of carrying my Iphone..... just incase I see something interesting. A Yarmouth shopper.

This grocery store is the best with regards to it's organic and natural value food. Most of these products are unavailable in other stores. They also have much more than just food like a mobile phone shop, clothes, seasonal general merchandise and kitchenware, to name a few. A serious issue, however, is I often will find food on the shelves days, weeks, or even months, that are past best before, or even, expiration dates. Always check the dates over products you're purchasing before you buy them here.
