Arguably the most professional pharmacy in Peterborough and region. After dealing with a few others, I switched to Westmount more than a decade ago, and would be unlikely to consider any other pharmacy in Peterborough at least as regards prescription services. Murad and family are very involved and attentive, and concerned with good customer service and maintaining the image and level of service that they have worked hard to create over many years.
I DO wonder, though, if Murad is fully aware of what the customer experience is like on the weekend when he is not there. While the staff at the pharmacy counter have all been great, I can't say the same for one particular member of staff - who I will describe as the girl with the colourful hair - who works at the front lottery/sales counter. I have found her to be consistently confrontational and argumentative in attitude, so much so that in any other circumstance I would simply take my business elsewhere. As far as lottery ticket purchases I HAD taken my business elsewhere until this particular person was taken off evenings, which is when I usually am in the store, and replaced by a dramatically more pleasant and friendly staff member. Today I happened to go at an early time, and I see that she IS still working there, just now on a different shift, and I thought I'd give her another chance and make lottery purchases from her again on this occasion. Sadly, nothing has changed with her attitude, and I am confident that if she is kept around for much longer that she WILL lose the store customers. I have to assume that she gets away with her attitude toward customers because she works alone at the front of the store, where other staff can't hear/see how she interacts with the public.
It's also worth pointing out the EXTREMELY loud Big Band music that blasts in the store on the weekends. Is it like that during the week when Murad is there? I note that another reviewer commented to the effect of a calm and serene atmosphere while waiting for prescriptions. It's been a long time since I've been able to say that because of Big Band, Show Tunes or Classical Music that is play at FULL volume. When a crescendo is hit it is necessary for conversations to stop for a few moments until the music dies back down a little bit to the point where people don't need to shout to be heard - particularly if it involves confidential/personal information. Today I had to loudly announce my phone number THREE times - so that all customers could also hear it - in order for the pharmacy staff to be able to correctly hear the number in order to look up my file on the computer system. It is unacceptable that the music volume is not within the control of the staff, who advise me that volume is locked and cannot be turned down by staff.
All issues aside, however, Westmount still remains the #1 pharmacy in Peterborough.
