This Pharmacy corresponds to the category of General hospital.
Emergency open 24 hrs
I’ve had six heart attacks I went in yesterday with heart attack symptoms into emergency had great service was seen by the nurse right away and the doctors went very smoothly efficiently staff was kind courteous my nurse was amazing and so was the doctor
My fiance has waited in the ER twice here. Both times she was there 7+ hrs and it didn't seem particularly busy. Once she was seen they did a good job, but they are the slowest hospital I've ever seen.
Went in around midnight for a severe allergic reaction rash, waited over an hour and I WAS THE ONLY ONE IN THE WAITING ROOM... Finally got called into emergency department and was greeted by a French lady who was still in training. She told me there's absolutely nothing they can do (fair enough) and suggested Benedryl. I asked for Benedryl as it was overnight and pharmacies are not open. She then tells me they do not have Benedryl in stock or anything like it... You're telling me if someone were to walk in with their throat closing due to an allergic reaction.. There's nothing you can do to help?! Not once did I see a certified doctor with experience. Will NEVER be returning to Perth hospital. Worth the drive to head into the city where their doctors have degrees and their medicine cabinet is stocked.
My husband fractured his spine in 2 places. We live in Brockville. We went to Brockville Hospital. What a mistake. Waited several hours andcwere told would be several more given the number of patients who were there before us with the flu. He couldnt sit. Pain was excruciating so he laid on floor of emergency waiting room. He asked for pain meds. Was given advil. Saw a nurse practitioner at doctors office next day, a Friday. Told it was muscular. Tried calling her on Monday. No return call. Got a referral for Xray on Tuesday morning. 6 days after injury. Told to go to particular drugstore in Brockville for backstage. One person in all of Brockville fits people and she's been off for 2 weeks with flu. By now, my husband is in extreme pain. Went to Perth hospital this past Friday. I was pleasantly surprised at the professional attitude and compassion of staff. They really cared. They got a fax copy of the prescription from drugstore in Brockville. Referred us to a great place in SF who were happy to fit him with a brace but they needed more info from our doctor in Brockville eho naturally wasnt available afternoon to take their call. Your hospital is the place for us in the future. In fact I want to transfer doctor to one there but I had an excellent doctor in Ottawa and we are going back to her.
Great doctors, Great service...very professional....
Really nice building and well organized
Went in today to get a tick bite checked due to the fact I’m going on vacation in a week, after nearly 5 hours of waiting with a near empty waiting room and making me feel ridiculous for being there that long for a tick bite, I checked out. Don’t know what to say other than I’ll just stay to my family doctor.
If you can then go out to another hospital. Worst acting staff ive ever seen . Let alone in the only emergency medical facility for like 3 whole towns. A month later and it still grosses me out and just surprises me!
Recently visited the emergency room due to a infection while I was in the area and we had to wait FIVE HOURS!!! YES- FIVE HOURS in the waiting room!!! They didn't call a single person in FIVE HOURS due to only ONE doctor! Completely insane! Five people left due to extreme wait. Didn't return home until 3am! Expected to get some medicine and leave! Unless you have a REAL emergency-call an ambulance! Totally not worth waiting. Bring a pillow and blanket if you decided to come. They were apologetic but HURRY IT UP! Get some more nurses and doctors-PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!
The waiting time is the lowest compaired to surrounding hospitals, even though its still a really long wait. The hospital is very neat and tidy and contributes to the local high school by taking in extra curricular students.
My husband Neil Halden went to the Perth Hospital in March 2018 as he had fallen on ice and had broken some ribs. This was about a week after the accident and he had not had a bowel movement during that time. He had tried various different things to have a bowel movement but could not go. I told him to go to the hospital and they would probably give him an enema to alleviate the problem. When he arrived at the hospital they treated him like he was a pill popper because he was on morphine prescribed by Dr. Smith in Ottawa, his family doctor as he had had G.B.S. about ten years ago and still had nerve pain from it. When he asked about his ribs they said yes they were broken but never offered to do an Xray to see how badly they were broken. When he told them he could not have a bowel movement they said to him "YOU WILL GO WHEN YOU ARE READY TO GO" THEY WOULD NOT GIVE HIM AN ENEMA. The doctor told him about the pain he had "JUST DOUBLE UP ON YOUR PILLS'. What doctor says that to a patient. They had his medical file there and knew that the morphine he was on was because of G.B.S. They treated him like he was the scum of the earth because he was on morphine. By the 15th of March he had still not gone to the bathroom and I told him I was going to send him to the hospital in the morning by ambulance. Unfortunately he died early that morning, his heart just stopped because of the strain put on his body by not being able to have a bowel movement and the pain from the broken ribs which by this time was even worse than when he went into the emergency the first time. The Perth Hospital emergency is incompetent and the doctor that saw him when he went there should be fired for lack of empathy and failure to do his job as a doctor. Susan Halden Lanark Ontario
Have had many good experiences here. They do a great job with small kids at emerg.
I have through Emergency twice for obstruct bowel and both times i recieved the worst medical care from 2 drs not even certified im pretty sure never had such a bad experience uneducated physicians fresh out of medical school no absolutely nothing about medical issues this hospital needs to be seriously checked put by the cheif of medical staff
Needed follow-up on a tick bite. Everyone was friendly, helpful and attentive.
You have a better chance of self diagnosing yourself and living than them not/miss diagnosing it and you dying. If you don’t believe me there are many instances in which they have sent a person home and they’ve either died or had something awful happen. I’ve had family die not only due to poor care, but due to the fact they couldn’t enforce their rule of having no more than 2 people per room in the ICU (pre-covid), and stressing the person to death with the noise and emotion which could have been detrimental to other patients as well. The older women are much kinder and know what they’re doing. The batch fresh out of nursing school likes to sit around the emerge desk, giggle and gossip while you stare at the ceiling and listen to 3 people coughing their lungs out simultaneously. This is based off personal experience (which I prefer not to share as it was traumatizing as silly as that can sound to some people) and loss of loved ones. Sorry if it’s harsh.
Went in around 8am last week, nobody in the waiting room. Front desk was kind and helpful, nurses were great, doc was great! In and out in less than an hour. If your issue is not terribly painful or life threatening, consider going early in the morning if you don't want to wait in line.
I don't know why all the negative reviews. As my first time at this Hospital. I was in and out in a jiffy. The staff are super polite and caring. Thank you very much for helping me on the spot without me having to fill a prescription. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
Very disappointing experience. Will go to another hospital next time.
Honestly walked in the waiting room was empty i stayed as i figured it wouldn't be to long of a wait. Its been almost 1h and haven't even been to the back yet! Unbelievable to me as there is no other patients in site. Would never recommend this hospital! Poor time management!
Quick attention, empathetic staff, and Dr. Drummond is caring, honest and has a very good sense of humour. Good experience overall.
front administration desk were very rude!. Covid screener was very nice ,helpful. The emergency department admitting needs to get some liner people , I went to say I was here to see Dr Roberts, and I was rudely interrupted by the clerk who said. To me NAME!!!!! In a aweful ignorant way ????
I presented to the emergency Department by ambulance with a heart attack on April 27. I just have to tell you how impressed I was with the care I received during my stay at your hospital. From ER, Dr Taylor and ER nurses to ICU , Dr. C Last and Dr. Del Grande, Joann, Elain, Cheryl to mention a few and the medical floor nurses who went above and beyond to address my needs following my Angiogram. It’s natural that they are good at what they were trained to do but I speak to the empathy shown me throughout at a very stressful time. I so appreciate each and everyone. Thankyou.
Am giving 1 start because you can't give zero.. This place should be shut down. Unprofessional, unqualified, disgusting, disturbing treatment of emergency patients and a level laziness one would think only the most pathetic "welfare bum" (as staff here will actually call people) could manage without feeling ashamed. They don't help normal people here, you'll be laughed at in the ER even though you were brought in by ambulance... but they have a nurse who's not only selling opiate pills on the black market, but they allow her to treat everyone like garbage like it's normal when she's actually in opiate withdrawals, like a common drug addict. I'm surprised the OPP haven't raided this hospital.
Absolutely disgusted at the service from the operator today. I called to ask a few questions prior to making the long drive in and after the first question was answered quite rudely I was starting my next question and got hung up on. The lady on the phone might want to work on her social skills before sitting behind an operating desk like that. Very very rude.
Last night I was at the emergency room in Perth Ontario. I have never seen this hospital so full or with so many patients in the waiting room. I have had 2 issues I'm pregnant and started bleeding then also I have had a very bad , and deep cough that hasn't gone away in 6 weeks . They asked me if I had a cough more then 2 weeks or chest pain in triage I said yes to both. I was in the emergency and explained to the Dr I'm pregnant and he said that he wanted to collect a urine sample. I agreed and he came into the room and told me that it came back negative. I started bawling my eyes out because it was in shock. I asked if I could have a blood test done again . He said they are very accurate and assured me it was not needed. I asked for an ultra sound and a blood test because if this was the case I wanted a D&C . I wanted an ultra sound to see for my self. I was so upset at that point. He listens to my lungs said I sound fine. I must be having something else cause the cough. I was really taken aback by this and said OK well if I am not pregnant and you won't give me an ultra sound can I have a XRay to check my chest. He agreed and sent me to x-ray last night at 9 30. I walked out of x-ray and looked at my lung pictures and being that I have had pneumonia 7 times in my right lung since I was 23 and am now 30. I showed the ER Dr. He said his name was Robbin that I had a black dot on my lung and showed him this in my opinion is pneumonia. He argued with me and even said I will have a radiologist check it in the am. So he admitted he can't even read my X-ray accurately. Then he says well if you feel congested I'll give you a prescription for your chest. I was like well if I don't have pneumonia I don't think I need antibiotics. As I am walking out to leave the phone rings and the girl says we shouldn't have sent her to x-ray she's pregnant. So now they said I have to go back in 48 hrs for an ultra sound. Also to see an obgyn asap. This morning my partner answered the phone to a number the said Perth Nursing Station . This was another Dr. Telling my bf he checked my x-ray and I have pneumonia and he scheduled me a emergency appointment with an obgyn. He also said he sent a prescription to the shoppers drug Mart in Perth Ontario. My bf called the shoppers tonight on his way to come visit me from Trenton Ontario. He heard them say sorry no we have no prescription for her then they called them selves to Perth hospital with my name and DOB and they claimed I want at emergency . My bf said OK I'll call. He called the same number that called him they said to him that I wasn't at the hospital and I wasn't in their emergency. He got so upset he even told them that I have a hospital bracelet here that shows my I'd and that I was there. They basically hung up on my bf. So now I have no prescription no idea what is going on with the irregular bleeding ,and no idea why Perth ER is saying I want a patient when a Dr called the same number saying he was sending a prescription to shoppers drug Mart. I feel so lost and sad they x-rayed my baby and gave it some radiation. I have no idea what to do but to go back to emergency to get a prescription for my pneumonia and request an emergency ultra sound. I will be making a formal complaint to the hospital.
I live distant to my mother who was very ill this week. I am a nurse and doctoral student. I sent her to the Perth Emergency Department as it was the weekend. In Covid times it's virtually impossible to book with her GP. The doctor who saw her failed to do any standard tests, nothing at all, and did not even touch or physically assess her swollen, red, painful and warm ankle. If a patient who fears going to the doctor shows up on your doorstep at 1 am in Covid times she is suffering. A little compassion goes a long way especially in these stressful times when it's very difficult for elderly patients to see their doctors for preventive care. I'll send her to Smiths Falls from now on. I'm disgusted with the treatment my mother "did not receive." Follow up: The team at Smiths Falls and my mother's GP helped Monday morning. Over the weekend she worsened and is extremely ill. She has to have treatment with IV antibiotics at the hospital for numerous days. I hope the CEO and his team review the failure of their ER doctor to provide basic standard of care to senior patients. Mistakes like this cost lives and unnecessary suffering for seniors and families. Ontario really needs to bump up its assessment, intervention and the treatment provided for the senior population. Did I mention my mother heard on her local radio station that if you can't see your doctor and are having symptoms go to Emerg versus waiting for a serious crisis? Time for a non biased review of the Perth Emergency Department.
Very professional
Very helpful staff visit many times never any problems. Thanks
Treate
Doctor and nurses I dealt with were nice. Doctor spoke to me in language I could understand and answered questions.
I went to the emergency unit for an abnormal allergic reaction to an antibiotic I was taking. The wait time was shorter than I’m used to even though there were a number of other people waiting in the ER. I found every single staff member I interacted with from Administration to Nurses to the Doctor to all be incredibly thorough, kind, and compassionate. I was especially impressed with the doctor who even after having blood work come back normal, took the time to re-examine me and discuss my concerns. I had to wait for test results so I had the chance to hear how the staff approached other patients, they were attentive and friendly across the board. They don’t rush you out as they do in many other hospitals. Perth and surrounding areas are lucky to have this hospital and it’s caring staff around when we need it.
Great experience both pre & post op at the Perth Hospital. All staff very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. I felt that I was looked at as a person and given great care to speed my recovery. Couldn't ask for a better place to be. Sincere thanks to every staff member.
