This Pharmacy belongs to the category of Supermarket.
Excellent food store with a great selection for its compact size. Never really busy.
Without a doubt the worst customer service in Penticton. I visited the store 2 months ago and when I went to the till the cashier did not even acknowledge my presence except at the end of running the groceries, only to say... debit or credit, no thank you, no have a nice day... for my $127 purchase. I said I would not go back but finally did yesterday....unbelievable but the exact same service from a cashier who's name starts with T. No acknowledgement, no thank only three words spoken through the transaction...debit or credit. Go to SaveOn and they greet you and thank you for your business. And no I am not an old fogey!
Waiting for my GF in the parking lot here. Not a bad location to nap actually.
My favorite grocery store in town. Small town feel, friendly staff, quality meats, seafood, produce, and baked items. Very active community booster.
I love how the staff actually pays attention to what is going on around them. Asking if they can help you find something, and opening more tills when there's a lineup. Keep up the great customer service!
Only go here as a last resort. Corner store pricing with less than optimal selection. They used to have freshly baked bread, but now they just import frozen and reheat it. Shame really, as I like the owner Colin Powell, it's an embarrassment seeing the store turn out the way it is today.
Good food. Friendly staff. Small parking lot at this location, and prices are higher here then large chain stores. But overall good experience.
They bring in some local produce which is excellent. Best BBQ skewers in town, and fresh burger patties. Best bakery cookies. They carry alfalfa sprouts, which Safeway does not. Lovely staff. Nice small store, not crazy busy. I only wish they carried the Mann's sugar snap peas, and a couple times the ice cream has been freezer burnt.
Clean and organized community grocery store. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Bought fresh fruit and the quality was great. And lots of free parking. Thanks all!
Staff is extremely friendly and will assist you with any questions. Locally owned and operated. Received multiple best of the okanagan awards ranging from best service to best place to buy meat.
Good store, it's a grocery store so really what else is there to say.
Does have what you need if you're looking to shop quickly for stuff and not wait in huge lines has the best bread in town, best pastry item is foot long as they call it here, it's real name is Mille-Feuilles tho.. Prices aren't that good tho, a bit high, more like shopper's drug mart prices so don't expect cheap stuff at all.
Great store!! I always forget about IGA but I have moved I little bit closer do have gone in.
Just a hop, skip, and a jump...from where we use to live. That was in 1998, and despite the ever growing developments with Penticton, its still heartwarming to know they stayed exactly the same, and made me feel like I was home again. Thank you IGA!
Too expensive. Don't have enough stock.
Friendly staff and awesome bakery! Our go to place in the cake department!
The Penticton IGA is what all grocery stores should be striving towards. The staff are always friendly and helpful and their selection of goods is excellent, with very reasonable prices.
There too expensive. Otherwise I'd shop there alot
Higher than average prices compared to most stores of this variety!
Not a good selection of products and most staff are rude. Quiet and close to most homes on the bench. Small convenience store that might have the items you need... usually at twice the price than any other grocer in Penticton.
Thank you so much for the beautiful Cupcake Bouquet. Ladies in the Bakery you went above and beyond. Amazing!
Friendly staff, great meat and produce departments. Love the bakery. Over all higher prices but love to shop there.
Great local grocery store. The meat department is great. They don't just stock the regular boring grocery store cuts. There's always something interesting and reasonably priced. I always make a point of stopping in when I'm in the area.
We ordered 105 "Death by Chocolates" from the IGA bakery for our wedding desserts. They were absolutely delicious, IGA was professional and timely, and they offered customisation options. They were so unique! The price was very fair for such complex desserts! Great work!
IGA is a Franchise grocery store which means more money stays on our community. It is well stocked and clean with an instore bakery. It lacks some convience items that larger stores carry but that is parking is easier. The directional signs for social distancing are confusing but they offer home delivery service.
Great little store and has the Best Ambrosia salad ????
They have a premade lunch pack, consists of sandwich, cookies, healthy one's,manderine orange, lil cheese rectangle.juice box.7.00 pretty resonable,in rush no time to make a lunch, great place to go.
Extremely expensive, very cramped aisles, checkout stands are at an awkward angle. Parking lot is also very strangely laid out and can be difficult to navigate (I witnessed a fender bender here that was caused by one-way markers not being clear enough).
Ok except sale signs with only 50 cents off ten dollar items, pretty pricey, BUT nice deli foods and bakery.
I have always had excellent service, and found the staff to be very friendly. The store is clean, well organized, and has recently had a refreshing face-lift. The produce is nicely laid out. Repeatedly, the in-store specials save you considerable money. The bakery is very tempting, and the staff behind the fish/meat counter, most notably Daniel, have always been exceptionally friendly to me. I travel the world for work and find it charming and soulful to return to Penticton where life moves at a slower pace. Just this week, a personable young man in the produce department left what he was doing to escort me to the item I was looking for, which had changed location since I was last in the store (bulk candy, chocolate covered Jujubes, yum!) I appreciated the customer service training the staff must receive.. This would have been considered a 'normal' sized store for most of my life, but now that mega-stores have emerged, I often avoid the big stores with their huge parking lots and excessive everything, as they leave me with a heavy sense of 'affluenza'. I prefer IGA. You can pop in for your items, be served by a friendly cashier, and be out in a flash.
Its a cute smaller local grocer, however it has limited selection and tends to be more expensive than the larger supermarkets. It does rank high for convenience for those of us living in the area.
I always enjoy shopping at IGA. The staff is terrific, efficient and friendly!!! I can always get in and out quickly as I am always in a hurry. There is always a gd selection and they keep the produce dept. so fresh. Great place to shop????????????????????..Diana Johnson
Grocery store with the personal touch. Meat department will go that extra mile to accommodate your requests. Nice to stil get service and a smile.
Asked for prosciutto sliced super thin...as most of us usually ask for. The attendant said his "slicer is so old and can't cut thinner than this. This is the thinnest setting there is". Having worked in a deli for 3 years, I know how thin these machines are capable of...nevermind having purchased prosciutto from various others stores for years. Considering prosciutto is almost $5/100g you would think you could get what you asked for. If it's the case of "old machines"...invest in new ones. To be honest, I've seen "cheap" deli meat sliced thinner than this.
I used to come here every other day for the past 4 or so years. That all ends now. I WILL NOT WEAR A MASK. And if you are going to try and make me then you don't get my money. They even hire a loser security guard to harass you if you go in with out one BYE BYE IGA
It was my first visit to the Penticton IGA and it certainly won't be my last! Since their store closed here in Okanagan Falls or options have been Limited. I have been shopping and all of her but decided as I was in town today that I would give the IGA on Government Street a try. I'm glad I did it was a good experience overall store felt good
Locally owned, and great staff ! Always a great deal on meat and fish !
Great grocery store. So easy to find what I want? Lots of staff to assist. Management is awesome. They keep the store running in a tip top manner. The atmosphere is friendly. I just love going there.
IGA is a great place, just posting to share that it’s closed (6 PM) on Saturday, so hopefully the hours will get updated for folks
Well stocked store, really appreciate that they get in local products, staff are quick on the checkout lanes and friendly. My go to grocery stop! :)
