It's an older store, but I love to shop there. It has everything I need, usually. When I go food shopping, it's not busy, they have a good variety of fruits and vegetables. There fresh bread I find really tasty, and there cold food counter as well. The store always looks looks clean, and tidy. The staff seem to be friendly.

this is more a review for the people who were thinking of working here. Dont. on more then one occasion i was belittled and bullied by the assistant manager. she clearly doesnt know where the line between professional and personal is. i put 4 years of my time into that store and all i got was passive agressive old ladies and dirt pay. if your looking for a place to ruin your self-image and confidence then i suggest working here but if you cherish sanity and not hating your job, never set foot in here. oh yea and if you ever ask to become full time they'll actually laugh at you because there hasnt been a full time position open to anyone under 40 in 10 years.

Poor management at this location. Head office needs to school this management. 3 reasons (of a long list): The lineups are a mess, especially during this time people are crowding around the ends of the aisles budding each other and bumping into each other, confused as to where to go. It's as if the management has not looked at any of the other stores in southwestern Ontario and realized they need one dedicated line and a staff member to direct. Too cheap to pay for one employee to increase the efficiency and safety of the customers in this community. Management should also tell Laura the cashier to follow Metro store announcements that play frequently that the mask is supposed "cover the nose and face"... Management walked out of the office right in view of her and said/did nothing, if she has a nasal issue, management should be providing her a face shield. Visited a different Metro today in London and they have none of these issues. This location should be investigated by corporate. Do they not know how to label product pricing properly? Which price is this product for? (Image below)

She tried to leave a second time to go back to an important job receiving product in the back and was going to leave 16 people in line until several customers spoke up to her. I find this particular laundry mat, is not the cleanest in the city. Id advise everyone to go to the Backdoor Laundry Mat OR, the First Ave Coin Laundry Mat (i believe it's called.). In my experience, these two are the cleanest with the best customer service if a problem arises and The Backdoor Laundry Mat has SEVEN 24/7 working security pants!

If the Metro in Picton are not doing returns, they should put a sign on the door stressing that. I bought a jar of decaf instant coffee by mistake and took it back. There was nothing wrong with it nor was it opened. It could have been wiped down and put back on the shelf for the next five people to touch it before someone bought it as some groceries do. When I asked what I'm supposed to do with if I can't use it, I was told " That's not our problem". No it is not Metro's problem. It is my problem. I lost $7.99 but with other grocery stores in the area and a new one going up, it will be a very, very long time before I set foot in any Metro and we have been shopping there for years. Sorry, but to me it is the principle of the issue.

This Metro has a great selection of produce and a decent organic section. They have live lobsters and in the deli plenty of fine meats and cheeses for building your own appetizer board. The wine rack serves up your favorite VQA wines and some selections of international blends. You can rent a steam cleaner. Buy a lotto ticket and even wire money to a friend, relative or to pay a late bill. Not to mention they have a flower shop and a pharmacy. This Downtown Orillia stop has it all.

Watch out- this store neglects its expiry dates! If you do end up shopping here- be careful. You can't just put milk or meats in your grocery cart - if you do, beware your milk will be chunky and your meat will be bad. This is the 3rd time its happened to me (the other times it was with milk and chicken)- Today I went and picked up bacon, it looked fine- so i didnt over think it- went home, didnt bother to smell it- cooked it and it started to have these white dots as it cooked, took a bite off to test and immediately had to spit it out. Smelled it and it was a sour smell. Called Metro to ask for another package of Bacon and they said because I already cooked it- they cant do anything. Waste of time and money on this place- DO NOT GO.

Once in awhile i get the 4 pack subs. Always taste good. The stone baked pizza’s are to die for. A must try. Meat is fairly priced here. Besides that the store doesn’t price match and prices on many items are more expensive compared to other grocery stores. The store is located in the mall which is nice but there’s not much in there. The mall is slowly rebuilding itself since Walmart killed the competion everywhere!

Best Grocery in Perth. Perth essentially has 3 groceries: A large independent grocery, a very expensive "high end" grocery and Metro grocery. I would say Metro is in the middle as far as pricing goes, but it carries lots of product brands not seen elsewhere- and their bakery is great! Staff is also very helpful and accommodating.

There's nothing like having to employees carry on a conversation infront of not one but two customers looking at them waiting to order a pizza. I guess it's no surprise they also didn't answer there phone for there department so the pizza was ready for the kids when we got there. Good customer service is a thing of the past

My go to grocery in Picton. It is clean, organized and you can find good quality products here. Unlike other groceries in Picton, this one has ample of room and the meat and fresh fruit, vegetable counters are always well stocked. Staff is friendly and there is always more than enough lines open to check you out. Parking outside is plenty.

Bad news, had to use the pharmacy to fill a prescription. Great news, pharmacy has really, really great owners and staff. Monica has been so helpful with getting what you need when you need it. I cannot say enough. She even followed up about a medication concern on a Saturday evening. This type of care, because that's what you are getting, is such an amazing find. Rest of the Metro is good to, having a large selection of every day items, and a quick and easy checkout process, which can be a challenge these days.

I only went in for one item, however the lines were very long, despite extra cashiers. A manager was walking around speaking with the customers, then she left and came back with dollar off coupons while thanking everybody for their patients. Now I know a dollar s m a lot well I thought it was an very nice gesture. Going around speaking with the customers was a nice enough gesture in itself. I feel that today she went above and beyond. The store is always very clean. The cashiers are friendly. I've found the people behind the counter in other departments a bit surly. I'm consistently disappointed with the freshness of the produce. At least once, I've seen produce from other countries mixed in with the local produce in a bin labeled "Product of Ontario" so you have to pay close attention to what you're buying. The meat counter is only open part of the week. The main reason I stop here is that the location is convenient for me. I do most of my grocery shopping elsewhere.

I was into metro July 22. Yesterday I am from out of town but own a cottage . For a small town and I am also from small town l can not believe no body was friendly at all. I asked where something was she just pointed down the isle. I checked out same thing the cashier looked so miserable I know it’s covid but really can they not even say good afternoon nothing. I went to two other places wearing my mask using their hand sanitizer and it was the same just plan miserable I was told by people I know out here family they don’t want strangers but then maybe ask for postal codes at the door and don’t let us in. Lots stock of fresh stuff in there nice clean store but it don’t hurt to be a little friendly. I will try some little stores on Main Street before I head back hope the workers at least pretend they like us to spend money.

The bakery here does amazing photo cakes! Fresh and tasty, even can put different flavours together in one cake. I sometimes pick up a hot meal here. I'd probably buy bread here for the family if they had some that was made and baked in store. I've been visiting this store for a few years and staff have always seemed friendly. Prices are higher than some others for items not on sale. There's no pharmacy in store but is one further down the mall and another in the medical building across the street. I read in newspaper that operating hours were reduced to prevent store from closing. Hopefully with so many people moving to St. Thomas, that will benefit area retailers.

9 out of 10 times I would rate this particular Metro a five out of five star rating however earlier this week literally minutes before 7 a.m. I ran into the front entrance of this Metro in despair I have been physically attacked while walking behind the maple Motel right next door man tried to steal my purse I managed to run away wow using one shoe the women that's in front door could clearly see that I was in need of help and denied me access to use the washroom to clean myself up as I had clearly been crying .Instead I was refused to enter the building while the employee stood there staring at me in disgust well all I needed to really do was seek help from the authorities

Location really is everything. I view this store as a necessity, mostly because it serves as one of the closest grocery stores in the downtown district and is where a lot of downtown residents do their weekly shopping. The prices are fairly steep on most products, and the shoppers are sometimes undesirable customers (drunk, impaired, or just plain rude), but as for convenience it pretty much can't be beat. TLDR; Go in and get out; don't make a habit of shopping there unless you have to, because there are definitely cheaper stores in town.

This is the worse Metro I have ever gone to. It has the rudest cashiers no matter what day of the week you go. I went today to get a few things, but now with the social distancing it has given them even an extra power trip to treat customers even worse. This is the closest store to me, but the one I have to think twice to even bother. Clean store with a good bakery selection, but the cashiers have zero customer service.

All I will say is get your deli meat fresh from the loaf not pre cut.... any ways they were very apologetic about what happend and gave us free deli meat... this gesture was everything!

I went in for a box of Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches and walked out with a box of vanilla ice cream sandwiches as well as my Neapolitan ice cream sandwiches and I was very pleased with the price and the service. Metro has good quality items but you pay a premium price for them. It is conveniently located downtown and operates 24 hours for the majority of the year, closing infrequently on holidays such as Christmas. If you have coupons or there is a good deal to take advantage of it is worth a visit. But it is too expensive to do your regular shopping in. You can get the same quality items for less at other stores.

Nice big store, clean, well layed out, with plenty of choice. Friendly helpful staff. The young lady at the hot counter didn't quite know her way around the combo meals, maybe new at the job or needs more training. The main reason for the 3 star review, there was no control of people at the check outs, no social distancing and shoppers just going all over the place and only three cashier's available. The worst I've seen in many months. The cashiers did however disinfectant all surfaces between customers.

Excellent staff, very friendly and personable. One clerk even walked up to me, noticing I had chosen one product, and recommended another similar product that was on sale. Prices are great, and many things will be on sale. As it is a smaller store (small town), the selection isn’t large and often they will not have any product of certain things at times, and sometimes stuff is about to expire, but otherwise selection is quite good and quick to get groceries.

One you learn the well marked store layout things are easily found and sales are quite plentiful. Usually I've found that the same sets of necessities go on sale about every 2 to 3 weeks so it's never difficult to shop economically.

Hours are always convenient (Typically 24 hours a day). Parking is adequate and close to downtown. Staff are always friendly and pleasant. The store can get busy but never too long that it's a nuisance. You can collect and redeem Air Miles at Metro too which is an awesome feature. Metro offers a variety of To Go options which is convenient as well.

Sometimes I have had an experience with the cashier acting in a judgemental manner (don't want to go into details in order to protect my identity), but overall most of my experience with this store has been positive (fresh food, mostly well stocked unless you're looking for Thirsty Buddha with pulp).
