REVIEWS OF Lawtons Drugs Brunswick Square IN New Brunswick

Joan MacDonald

Always friendly, helpful staff. Pharmacy staff very knowledgeable and ready to serve. There is also a post office which is very convenient. In my opinion, they have outgrown their space and would benefit greatly by an expansion, but that would be my only suggestion for improvement.

This is where I get my Toothpaste, Soap, Shampoo, Energy Drinks, Vitamins, Minerals and Supplements. On Wednesday, I get the 55+ 20% Discount on all my purchases!

I find this store rather complicated. Great pharmacy; however incredibly difficult at the front. Either Lawtons needs to train cashiers better or understand their policy. If a price is posted on an item then that is what the price is. It isn’t the customer’s fault that someone at Lawtons failed to do their job properly and not remove an expired price. I experienced a situation today that could have been avoided. I went to the cash with items and was expecting to pay the advertised price located next to the items. The cashier goes and gets the sticker and speaks with her supervisor. The supervisor tells the cashier it is regular price. Next to the cash there is a sign says the customer receives the item free if there is an incorrect price. The woman behind me (customer) mentioned to the cashier I should get the item for free as per the sign and policy. The cashier just didn’t understand her store policy and the supervisor was as bright as a burnt lightbulb. I was not looking for a free item, I was looking to pay the price advertised in store. I became frustrated and left. I will avoid this location at all times due to the inconsistency and unprofessionalism.

After returning from being out of the country I was short on 1 of my 5 regular medications, I called the recorded message line at 10 a.m. to renew 1 expired medication for 1 week until my Doctor appointment on Tuesday coming and asked if they could call me if there was a problem with doing that. That same day my husband dropped off a new med prescription at 11 a.m. We went there at 3 p.m and neither prescription was filled. The pharmacist, Carrie, said oh, she took my call and "forgot" it. She said my husbands prescription was not done yet (after having it for 4 hours). She at that point told me that there was a $10.00 fee for the pharmacy to write a prescription. I advised her that I called at 10 a.m and asked them to call if there was a problem with them filling a 1 week renewal till I got to the Doctor but hadn't heard anything from them. Again, all she said was there was a 10.00 charge. When I had called the Dr. office that morning the receptionist told me if there was a problem getting my meds to call her back and they would call in a prescription with no charge. Carrie did not call me to tell me that and left my request unanswered until I arrived there at 3 p.m. Too late for me to get my Doctors office. She just "forgot" that I had even called. This was my second experience with Carrie when she failed to get my travel prescriptions filled a few months earlier through my prescription plan. I was so upset as I was without any of the medication I was looking to have filled this day. I have 5 regular medications that I use on a regular basis after having heart surgery last year and my husband is also on 4 regular medications after he had heart surgery in 2010. We will definately be going to another pharmacy to look for better service than what we have experienced. with Carrie at Lawton's Drugs in Brunswick Square. I certainly hope that Joan see's this review because she has always seen to our needs in the past. Unfortunately, Carrie has absolutely "NO" customer service skills and because of that, has lost our business at Lawton's in Brunswick Square, Saint John.,

Went here to get my C.Shot.Limited hours.

I understand that this location is uptown and has a higher likelihood of theft. However every time I've been in this location if I have a purse or bag of any size I've been followed like I'm going to steal something. Almost every time. I've worked retail over 15 years. I know what they are supposed to look for. I'm always made extremely uncomfortable anytime I shop there. I will only shop there if I have no choice. I do not recommend shopping at this location.

Always had great service from Joan and Leslie been looked after by Lawtons for over 20 years!

Unfortunate experience attempting to get my medication here. Pharmacist was condescending when I was just trying to understand the issue of why I couldn't refill my prescription. Will avoid if possible.

Paid with a U.S $20.00 bill and was refused U.S change. If you take U.S currency, you should give it in change. What would I do with Canadian money back home in Ny. Then the cashier refused to take the items back and give me my money back.
