Sobey’s is a great supermarket - super clean and very organized. I recently had the best experience with their brand new Smart Cart. It was super easy to use (even if you’re not that great with technology). Really recommend that everyone try it out! You get to skip the lines and shop at your own pace. The staff are there to help out if there are any issues as well- they are super friendly!

We always find exactly what we are looking for. Huge (and very clean) store offering lots of choice, plus some imported foods from other parts of the world. All the sections of the store are clearly identifiable so you can find what you’re looking for pretty easily, plus a handy layout of the store is on display when you come in the front doors. Plus the cooked food selections are great fantastic, I’ve gotten the sandwiches and soups countless times for lunch!

I started going here near to the opening time two years ago. At that time the staff were some of the nicest and friendliest service people I have encountered. They actually ask to help you if they see you looking around. That is rather uncommon in a grocery store. Pricing is likely higher than no frill type places but at least you feel good shopping here.

I really like the people who work at this location. One small thing to be aware of... Some veggies are in zipped plastic bags open to the water spray. This water adds to the veggies weight. I found a bag of brussel sprouts with water in it and asked the cashier to pour the water out. The price went down 50 cents for the package. I am sure this was not intentional but do check so you aren't paying for extremely e pensive water.

SUPER CLEAN and awesome place for groceries! Only place that had rendered duck fat that I like. It's a bit pricey compared to other grocery stores but you're also paying for the quality and experience of your shopping there. Lots of parking and carts so it makes shopping a breeze. The cashiers are always quick, I've never waited longer than a minute in order to checkout. They are great seasonal items as well, I appreciate the effort the team goes through to make sure that my grocery with them is a positive experience.

Probably my favourite store to go to. They always have great deals on meat, and often times ones that aren't in the flyer. Some of the stuff is a bit pricey, but for the quality it is more than worth it. Fast, efficient self check outs that take cash, great customer service and polite employees make this one of the most pleasant grocery stores to shop at in northwest London.

My new FAVOURITE store to shop! This location is really kicking the competitions a** in a BIG WAY. I use to shop at Metro Wellington. While I still prefer buying Metro's meat & buns/bread, Metro is missing the mark in terms of cleanliness, layout, customer service & selection. Sobeys extra is BEAUTIFUL, bright, clean, & offers such a huge selection in every department! (I spend too much time and $$ there, lol). They stock much better choices of beer & wine; staff are very courteous and helpful, with just one incident whereby 2 staff mbrs at the plant & flower shop were far more interested in gossiping than noticing I was standing there for a few minutes waiting to be served. I have watched one particular manager there in action; he has his eye on EVERYTHING & EVERYONE. I see him so often (is it Tim?), I wonder if the poor guy gets a day off?! But he is on top of his game - I have even seen him hauling skids of products out from the back to stock shelves. The seafood manager was sooo nice and taught me how to properly shuck oysters without killing myself or losing a finger, lol. Very impressed indeed. Perhaps it was just bad luck - but I have purchased bread, bagels & buns that did not taste fresh even though I checked the date(s). That - and the meat department are the only 2 things I can think of that (for me) need some improvement. But the deli....The deli is awesome!! (Again it's clean & stocked with a ton of stuff). There is a sushi area and freshly cooked meals/specials prepared every day to choose from. In the produce department- whoever takes care of that area ensures it is beautifully displayed & stocked with fresh fruit(s), veggies & ready made salads to name only a few things.(not too sure what the "juice" area is all about? Never see anyone behind that counter to ask). Yes, some things might cost a little more but I always check for sales & overall the entire store is simply wonderful to shop at! (**AND no harrassing beggars at the entrance like Metro has). Bravo to the management & team, you should be proud and I'm happy that I discovered your store! ???????? Oh - don't forget that you get Airmiles here!!

Sobeys is my favourite supermarket. It's organized and has some sorts of things that are not sold in other markets. I'm talking about some natural products, different kinds of sliced in front of you cheese and hams. The only problem is that those things are expensive. It's not a cheap maket and that is why I don't go there as much as I wanted to.

Only two North London locations and I am in south London ????. I used their self checkout and found their version to be way pickier and slower than others I have used.

Very good selection of groceries, fruits, and vegetables. The store-made sausages are VERY VERY good (but make sure you buy the ones that say "made fresh in store", since they also carry sausages that are not made in house), and the fresh striploin steaks are always consistently great on the bbq. This is a higher end grocery store, so the prices are reflective of that (loses 1 star). Sale items are typically very competitively priced. Bonus is that you can earn air miles shopping here.

This is a pretty reliable store with very good hours - open pretty late most nights. Large variety of fruits and vegetables, and a lot of common goods. The store is always clean, and usually not busy at all. The prices are on the higher end of the Spectrum, but you generally expect to pay a premium for an open-late store like this. The staff there are really nice, but the store can occasionally look pretty short staffed. If you are just going in for a few things and are happy with self check out, this is the store for you. Because it is not busy, you can easily be in and out in about five minutes. If, however, you were looking for assistance finding specialty items, or someone to Scan and pack your groceries, probably best to go somewhere else. There is ample parking, and it is in a safe neighborhood. There is a reasonable selection of gluten-free items and they are usually well stocked. This is not a buy in bulk store, and prices will definitely be better at the Costco across the road; however, the hours are much better here and it’s way less hassle because it’s less busy. I will definitely return here.

They quite often have deals on meat that are fantastic usually around the weekend. So check often... The staff are super polite and helpful as well. This new location has a wonderful and easy layout with a lot of options! The hours of the store are great and I can always find what I am looking for. They put a huge focus on health and have community lectures on a variety of health related topics along with cooking classes in a wonderful kitchen space located at the front of the store. They provide student deals and also give you a gift card back for $10 if you spend $20 or more on fresh fruits/vegetables Monday-Thursday. They have excellent programs in place that bring them above the status of a normal grocery store.

We shop here often out of convenience because of the location. Promotions for 10$ gift cards when you spend 20$ on produce and generally better prices offered when the store opened brought us in, however these things have steadily disappeared leaving the store to be quite expensive. The staff is friendly and helpful, however, the layout of the store is confusing and often causes us to spend twice as long in the store trying to find the things we need, often doubling back several times. The bread is nowhere near the bakery, and the random 'half' aisles in the middle of the regular aisles make no sense. After you get your produce, meats and baked goods, you are forced to walk through the 'healthy' organic soaps and cleaning products that has a choking scent that will leave you dizzy with disgust. The produce, deli & bakery items are always fresh. The deli staff in particular go out of their way to provide above and beyond friendly customer service, and the daily meat deals are worth stopping in for cold cuts. The beer and wine availability is convenient as they are open late, just be aware that you will be hassled if you have out of Ontario ID, despite being from another part of Canada. Overall would probably shop at superstore if it was closer because it is both better organized and less expensive.

The lay out is nice and the later hours are convenient. I wish they had more options in ready-meals like Metro, but their selection is still good. One thing I wish as well is for the meat section to be more prominent. It seems hidden in the back corner where it is now. The staff seem cheerful, and I think it's really cool that they have work shops. Of course it is a higher end store so it can be pricey, but you just need to know what deals to look for.

Store needs to have a better arrangement of isles when it comes to driving the shopping cart through them. For example, in an easy straight fashion, as oppose to having isles which are directly impeding the smooth flow, placed in the middle where you have to go around it and literally zig zag. Also, found yogurts for my kids that were expired. Good thing I checked as they were from Feb 13th and now I know why they were on sale. Lastly, Friday night and only two cashier open for such a large store. Will not be going back to this location unfortunately. Will stick with the smaller Sobeys in the North End, which is much cozier place and friendlier staff.

This is the most confusing grocery store I have ever been in. They seem to be trying to give you "the market experience" where you wander a meandering path, but then they revert to standard aisles, but place a few sideways so you can't do the standard up and down the aisle thing. The aisle signs are different at both ends relative to what is at each end, makes sense, except the color scheme make the far one hard to see, and the two sections seem disconnected with each other. As well the layout of products are helter skelter on top of it. I seemed like someone had a vision and started reorganizing the layout, then someone else tried to finish the store the "normal" way but half the products were already in the newly added section so they just threw the rest on shelves and said "done". If your wanting to kill time meandering through a grocery store that feels like a nice flea market, it's great. But normal busy people want to be able to get what they came for and get out. Prices weren't bad, but certainly not good either

I absolutely love the modern, stylish design/layout they have at this location. It has a wide variety of everything, also has the fine dinning experience, but with a grocery store. It is much much more than just a grocery store though, in my opinion. Has a deli and it's own cheese section. It also has a huge drug store section, which was impressive as well.. one of my favour sections, about this store, is the prepared/packaged meat section. It has a great selection of packaged meats, that are hard to find in most big name grocery stores ( also is very well stocked from what, I've noticed, so you sure to find what you want and it be in stock) Happy shopping!

I started shopping at Sobeys because they have top quality food that is reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and show you were to find items. One of the things I really like is their fresh seafood department because they have Kippers that I love, wild-caught from Scotland. Argentinian shrimp and scallops wild-caught and all sorts of fresh fish. The seafood manager, Chris is one of the reasons I also shop at Sobeys. Chris knows his fish and always makes time to help me with a wide array of knowledge on products he carries. He is also quite funny with his London cockney accent and he makes my visit to Sobeys that much better! Once you start shopping here you'll know why I wrote this. Also, they have an excellent produce section with lots of organic produce at great prices. A nice shopping experience on every single visit and you'll be surprised just how much variety they carry on just about anything you desire.

Love this location for their selection. I always enjoy my shopping experience. My only complaint is that I find them over priced as compared to the superstore. the one disappointment i had here was arriving by taxi at 11pm and they werent allowibv beer sales. going here for groceries has been advantageous. they dont have as many savibgs opportunities as say food basics but the quality is higher of the displays and they have an expanded marketplace and i think a coffee shop on your way out. i ESPECIALKY like the grab and go snadwuches at the front of the store as i have been hubgry here before and their turkey wrap is 5-star. they have a florist too and specialty cereals

What a wonderful experience we had today. Our "Community bus" drove us there today for the first time. They had a welcoming sign, free coffee and cookies for us, a lovely Stobeys bag with many items in it. Also, two staff were on the bus to talk with us. It was extremely impressive and I am so happy that they put themselves out like this for us. Thank you, Sobeys!!!!!

Have been there several times, mixed feelings about this place. Last time I went there, I was shopping around the chocolate area, found out the chocolate which were on specials have expired about 1 month, so I picked the bag and brought it to the cashier told him the fact that the chocolate has expired. And then a man walked by, I assume it was a manager or someone who is in charge, he showed him the package and had some small talks, and then both of them were laughing and looked back at me. And the cashier put the chocolate back to the special areas again. I don’t know what they were laughing about, was it about my race or my behaviours, or maybe because I am too stupid? Because if the goods are on special then it has to be expired? I have no idea, but I will never go there anymore. Disappointed.

Admittedly, I didn't expect to like them, but I do. A nice grocery store with a good selection of quality food and ingredients. They dry-age steaks in-store (like an expensive steakhouse), and sell them quite reasonably. The hot food I've tried has been good. I can get a number of good ingredients for Italian cooking here for a decent price. The cheese department is good, offering a nice variety preparations of aged Italian Parmesan cheese (chunks, slices, shredded, rind). I can find some harder-to-find ingredients here, like Creme Fraiche and (dried) Morel Mushrooms. Overall I'm pretty happy.

It was all self checkout, which is fine for one or two items, but a whole cart of looking up produce codes (because hardly any of their produce has a sticker on it). Terrible experience, if I am paying those high prices, at the very least someone can ring through my groceries. Its 9am on a Sunday there is no excuse for having no tills open.

Store manager needs to learn how to approach customers and find better ways to address "potential" loss prevention and not accuse paying customers of stealing, obviously based off of their appearance. Cashier tried to make me feel guilty about bringing a plastic bag in for my groceries. I reuse bags many times because they have handles and allow me to carry my groceries at a level that doesnt aggravate an injury. Felt uncomfortable, not sure I will return. Spend my money at different store.

Excellent selection and the quality of any vegetable, fruit or meat can't be beat. Store is massive. A very good neighborhood grocery store . lots of parkings .very convenient .easy entrances on both sides of the plaza. Good location. . Clean .tidy . Very fresh foods especially meats, awesome. And I don't have to buy huge amount which always end up in the garbage. It is for those who want better and courteous neighborhood personal service and better foods and be treated as real customers , not just a number.. I used to go to Costco, not anymore , they don't treat me as a real good customer after I have spent thousands and $139.00 annual membership every year. Now I go to Sobeys. I feel more comfortable shopping there and no membership fees required.

The staff are very friendly. Like 5-6 people that I passed by while I was shopping exchanged greetings with customers. The place is clean, their produce is great quality, they offer beer and wine, have a great seafood counter, deli counter and an excellent assortment of cheeses. It's a little pricier than some of the other grocery stores, but well worth it. And their bakery cakes are bomb!

This Sobey's is one of the worst grocery stores in town... I have no problem paying a little more when the products are fresh and the variety of products is there. But this Sobey's has neither of those elements. The selection is disappointing, everything is about to expire, and when things are not on the verge of expiry, they have been poorly packaged or handled resulting in them going bad faster than they should. Safe yourself a trip and go to any other grocery store...

What an interesting experience! I love it! Up front I'll just say forget clothes shopping, forget shoe shopping.... I'm a foodie. My favourite shopping is grocery shopping! Let me wander up and down every aisle and I'm happy. This was only my second visit to Sobeys. I really try to stay out of grocery stores since I retired... And I usually just run into no frills since my budget is lower than it used to be and it's so close to my house. But going in to Sobeys at Wonderland and Oxford was like a child going into a candy store! So many neat items! So many beers! Such a large health food section! Since becoming vegan several months ago I keep my eyes open for new items that I don't see in my regular grocery store. Their selection of vegan products was good. But I'm still on a mission to find a store here in London that sells the Beyond Meat Burger. Even better would be The Impossible Burger! So many good choices in Cheese's, Meats, and Seafood! They have a jumbo shrimp ring that the shrimp are huge! And the size of the shrimp are larger and the price is less than at Costco! The produce section is displayed so cool! Colourful peppers are displayed on the wall... So pretty! And everything was so fresh! Like I said, only my second trip there... I'm looking forward to going again and exploring the aisles more! The staff were really nice and helpful. And there is plenty of parking.

Never ever use this pharmacy. The staff are super unprofessional, they are slow and they never have stuff ready. Though thats only if there is even someone at the pharmacy, as occasionally no one is even there to serve us. This place gets two stars only because it is nice to walk through they do have a good selection of food and the produce is pretty fresh but everything is so expensive that it doesn't even make sense. For example a 1 liter thingy of juice that costs a dollar 49 regularly at other grocery stores was on sale for $1.99 from 2.99 at Sobeys. I only go there if I'm to late for Metro and I only go to Metro if I'm really lazy and don't want to go all the way to a cheaper place

The overall impression about this supermarket is good. I really like the variety of products and this place is clean and fun to shop. BUT. I bought “fresh” fish there twice and both times it was NOT fresh and stank very badly although I opened it in the day of purchase. It’s really disappointing that staff don’t care about it and sell bad fish.

Walked down the beer isle and as I was looking at the craft section he pointed out a certain beer and when I said I don’t really prefer IPA he winks at me and says “they sure do go down good with our freshly baked store bread” I was deeply disturbed what person let alone manager says that to a customer. Very poorly laid-out store with aisle labeling very small and hard to find. Checkout with Meghan today (21 June 2019) at 15:30 in the 1-13 items checkout lane was very poor. She is a very surly store representative who was unable to work out change from a $20 bill for an order of $17.50. While I was packing my purchases into my own recyclable bags once she had rung the items through, she stopped me to ask in a distracted, dull way, if I wanted to buy bags. She had absolutely no awareness of anything. This exceptionally poor service combined with a store that is poorly designed makes for a shopping experience I would NOT RECOMMEND and plan to never experience again. I plan to tell everyone I know about this terrible store and to encourage everyone I know to AVOID this store.

The "hot lunch" is rarely fully stocked or ready, and the food I regularly go to get is often just not stocked and the shelves are sparsely filled. I am leaving this review after having that experience 5 times and leaving without what I went there for. There are better options elsewhere.

This is the first time I have ventured into a Sobeys Extra store. All I can say is well done. The gluten free options are second to none. There is a plethora of options from pre-made frozen to fresh or as fresh as gluten free food can be. I was amazed with the options. I know that Sobeys in general is a more expensive store to shop at but I will definitely be shopping again at this store.

Did have some great experiences there but last one really left a sour taste. Made a trip over to sobeys specifically as I passed four other grocery stores on the way. I went to the meat counter that was deserted of employees and customers, and after finding the meat employee asked if they had any of the product I came for. Three times now they haven’t had it immediately handy but I had no problem waiting 15 mins or longer while I shop if they are busy. One girl did it right there (the original employee who told me this is no big deal) and it took her less than five mins to make 15. So my request last night (3 hrs to closing) was that even though there’s no customers around and it’s sobeys “extra” he just “didn’t have the man power to help me out. I explained that I’ve had it done before, by numerous employees no problem and that I made a trip out to sobeys specially and this was the dinner plan. So the next excuse is that is that’s something that has to be ordered typically. It literally never has been. So being a little annoyed at this guy laziness I went to ask customer service why they have the employees there if they don’t help customers. They thought it sounded ridiculous as well. So, they asked the manager who said they would call the meat dept. this time the employee said oh all that product is frozen. It’s a fresh meat product, and I even ensured they had the required ingredients before asking ….. needless to say the lying lazy employee and wasted trip out left a pretty lasting negative impression. There are multiple closer/cheaper grocery stores near by. As a former sobeys employee, even though it was the other location, customer satisfaction was always paramount. It’s too bad it doesn’t seem to be now, especially at a sobeys “extra”.

I had a fantastic experience with the new Smart Cart at Sobys Extra. I do not consider myself a "Tech Guru" by any means and I was able to follow the simple tutorials on the screen to check my items into the cart as I was strolling through the isles. This I still in the preliminary stage of the roll out, so some unique items my not be exactly weight calibrated to the cart. This is not an issue at all as a friendly staff member just needs to do a quick audit on your cart on your way out and Uncle Bob. I recommend you try this for yourself and I promise you will not be disappointed with the experience. Hooray for no more lines!

Bought a whole beef tenderloin today on sale. I asked the young gentleman at the meat counter if they could cut it into three roasts for me. I was told they were "too busy" and couldn't accomodate my request. He had not served anyone 5 minutes prior or 5 minutes + after my request. I did not see him busily doing anything. It must have been a different employee that did accomodate the exact same request yesterday for a friend at the same store. It is the difference between a good customer experience and a bad customer experience. The 3 star rating is because they were properly staffed at the checkout where I had a good experience.
