Generally quite good, for certain things. Produce is on a par with Food Basics. I rarely buy any fresh meat, but will purchase packaged meat on sale. Their real strength is the variety of international foods - the best in Kingston for a grocery store. I do find, however, that often advertised items cannot be found or "never came in". This is frustrating.

It is an okay grocery store. Being my first trip here, very confused. You can't leave the way you came in. I'm still not sure where the carts are kept. None of the staff seem to enjoy being at work. Honestly, it doesn't seem any cheaper than Loblaws.

Update: A few months ago, I'd given a poor review of this store- in particular not feeling safe while inside it, especially when it comes to keeping everyone safe from Covid-19. I've changed this review since, as (on encouragement from others) I decided to re-visit the store a few days ago, and have been pleasantly surprised to see they've completely turned things around! I feel I can now shop with a feeling of confidence and safety. This store has a lot of hard-to-find items ... especially if you're in to cooking and preparing international foods... and at really good prices, too. My only beef (pun intended) is that the cuts of meat for sale could be much better, but they're adequate for the task at hand.

I have never been in a FreshCo before and was really very impressed. Although they didn’t have a very big range of Gluten free foods they did have gf foods that others don’t. The biggest win with this store for me was a whole isle dedicated to International foods - literally imported from around the world. An absolute must if you’ve not been before ???????? ????

Went there for a turkey from my turkey dinner and when I went to prep it there was a bad smell then cooked it and to come to find out my turkey is bad just had to cancel my turkey dinner. Will never buy a turkey from them again

I had the worst experience I had in a store. I went to return something. It was congested, I went to one of the cashier lanes and joined the line waiting for my turn. When I reached the cashier, she apologized and asked me to go to lane 1 where the supervisor is able to finish my return. I went to the lane and waited again for my turn. After a while, I reached the cashier, surprisingly, she ashed me to go to 7. I explained to her what happened and told her I will not move this is my turn and someone should come to finish my return. And because I do no want to block the line, I left the line and waited for some one to come. After about 5 minutes, I got frustrated and asked her about the manager. She said he is not here today and the supervisor is responsible today. I started becoming made. when she noticed that, she called someone. He come and said "I am not the manager but I take the charge today". After explaining to him, to do my return.

This is one of the best places to get groceries in Kingston. They have the biggest Indian section and most Indian products are available here. They also have Indian sweets which are a little overpriced but I can understand given the monopoly. The prices of normal groceries like produce and meat are super low though.

Very bad costumer service, I waited for the line too long no reaction from Management to help cashiers and then I was the last person on the line and afte around more than 20 mins wait for the line , cashier asked me to go find another line , since she wanted to go to help express line, I said I am the last person, , and thel line is too long and I am in hurry, she said nope.. Contrary to marketing, Farmboy next door fresh produce is actually cheaper and fresher. Freshco is good for frozen and processed foods, as well as cheap meat and international packaged foods.

To start of lots parking. #7 and 501,502,4 and # 14 stop outside store.i shop here for some discounted meats. Occasional produce and specialty items. If you eat Indian,Halal, Vegan. This is a perfect place to shop they have a great variety of cultured food. Sorry everyone not sure best way to word this. So many kinds of rice, sauces, vegs, snacks almost everything u would need.

Very good range of quality produce and general selection of items. This store has the most diverse assortment of foods and this is my go to spot for price and overall quality. Staff have been hardworking and personable. I used to go to Food Basics on Bagot st. But now drive just to come to Freshco.

Has great accessible parking close to the door. Prices are good 4 produce and products. However pay terminals are mounted too high and are fixed... Defeating any attempt to provide accessibility to someone using a wheelchair who wants to pay using a debit without the entire line up behind them being able to see what they're doing

Great store! Friendly staff, very clean, good selection and excellent prices. Pharmacy on site( got a covid-19 vaccine here). Bathroom, wheel chair accessable and lots of cashier lanes. Would recommend to anyone and will be back when in Kingston.

Staff is generally friendly - go in the evenings and it is very quiet. Good variety and good quality for the price. I also generally like the layout of the store and amount of parking they have available. The foreign food section has a pretty good selection too.

If you are an international student especially an Indian you would love the place, they have all the Indian spices, flours, rice, snacks ( Cream biscuits, chips, parleG), favourite pickles even desserts like rasagulla. Cashiers are friendly, and the prices are cheap, and the quality is great. Our friends and family love it here.

My experience at this location use to be great but lately it is not. It use to a one stop shopping experience. It was a great place as they price matched. But now they are picking and choosing who to price match, which is their perogative to do so but the fact that nowhere it is clearly posted. Every cashier is different. Just post the policy and stick with it and post the changes so we know what to expect.

I like that there is a variety of grocers in the city. They have a pretty good fresh produce section with different options than the Food Basics and NoFrills places. They have good deals but not everything is a better price so you have to look around. Their fourth star is because they offer price matching based on the Flipp App making it easy to justify buying here. Staff are pretty young overall and do their best to give great service.

Would not accept a return (with a receipt) on a defective product the day after I bought it. The 'supervisor' claimed to the cashier over the phone that once a product has left the store it cannot be exchanged. The website says you can bring items back with the receipt within 14 days, but clearly that is not a policy they respect.

There are only two employees There is no customer service in this bank, especially in the Kingston Center branch. The manager did not accept the cash exchange even though I had $1300 in my account and the money became available after only 7 days. The manager is unhelpful and the staff too, so I decided to close my account in this bank that does not cooperate with customers

I spent 13+ hours on Wednesday/Thursday at both hospitals, went home and slept a few hours. I had to go to Freshco to get my prescriptions. The pharmacy staff are so caring I would never go anywhere else. I didn't realize the toll it would take on me physically and while shopping I asked one of the girls to put the dog food under the cart for me. The girls told me to ask for help when I get to the cash. Once I asked the compassion and kindness of the staff and particularly Harry, was unbelievable!!! He packed my bags and took it all out and put it in my car. This was customer service at its finest!! The store is always clean. The staff help you find whatever you need. The variety is wonderful as I find it hard to find Krinos and Aurora products. Chris and Taryn Fieldhouse your staff are awesome!!

I don't know who/why they hired either a security guard for, but lately I went there 3 times, n all I see is either he talking to someone for a long (about 7min) or he's not around until 10min or so, looks like he didn't do his job. Because I waiting for my wife to come out from her grocery shopping, is NOT that I too noise, but I was looking at the entrance/exit to see if my wife coming out or not. Because of CONVID-19 I CAN'T NOT CAUGHT VIRUS, my system isn't like before, because of my big surgery.

Friendly staff. Great customer service Last day I brought a fruit cake from this store and it was of bad quality. I emailed them the issue with photo. They called me 2-3 times to help me to fix it the issue. The manager Scott helped me to get a refund and also give me a replace. They don’t disappoint their customers.

Beer selection is good. Had a decent international but they keep rearranging the store and deleting good products so this is changing. Perpetually understaffed. Never have enough cashes open. Produce is reasonably priced but don’t expect to find herbs. They are always out.

As the only place in kingston to purchase Arizona iced tea, it had already earned itself a clean five stars. But, access to the greatest beverage on this fair earth is not all this store has to offer. FreshCo's shelves are stocked with both the staples of a high-quality super market, but also with import and specialty foods to suit any need. I often find my self wondering about a food from another country, only to find myself in FreshCo with that item in my hand. In addition the FreshCo staff are always incredibly helpful and friendly when: pointing out the location of an object or checking out.

I like this shop. Lots of exotic foods available. Great selection of vegetables. Good meet selection. In other places it's full of pork and nothing else but here you can get some good beef. Much better than food basics. But unfortunately I don't go there often as it's really far from me and I don't have a car. Also prices are low compared to food basics. Yes it may be 50 cents but it makes a difference of you shop regularly. One time I was having a party and at the end it ended up saving me 50-100 dolars.

It puts a lot of emphasis on being cheaper than other supermarkets, but in general the prices are average. They have some fruits and vegetables that are difficult to find elsewhere. They used to have a superb International section, but unfortunately it has shrunk recently.

As a Covid-conscious citizen, I had the displeasure of shopping at FreshCo on Princess Street yesterday. It was, without a doubt, the most uncomfortable experience that I have had in any store since the start of the pandemic. While there were some signs posted outside and within the store that referenced store capacity, social distancing etc, there was a complete lack of follow-through on these public health guidelines. Zero effort was made to regulate the number of people entering the store and as a result, they were surely over capacity, making social distancing impossible. Unlike most stores, no effort was made to sanitize carts after they were used. In contrast to their posted policy of checking out one customer at a time to allow for physical distancing, the cashier immediately rang the next customer through after me, forcing us to be uncomfortably close while paying and bagging groceries. At one point during my visit, I overheard two employees talking loudly about how Covid-19 is overblown and that the public health measures that have been implemented are unnecessary. Considering that there is a widely recognized increased risk of infections with the students returning to school, the management of this store has completely dropped the ball. Significant changes in attitude need to be made from the top down and it needs to happen now. There is no lack of alternatives when it comes to grocery stores in this town who are actually making an effort to keep our community safe. As long as conditions at the store remain like this, I can say with absolute confidence that I will not be returning to FreshCo on Princess St. for the remainder of the Covid-19 pandemic.

So many many times I have purchased expired product at this location wasting my time, gas and money as I end up having to purchase alternate foods while I am at work as the food I have brought for lunch is expired! It is not a hard job to check dates yet they fail constantly, giving the Sobey's Company a bad rep.

One stop shop for all your Desi grocery needs. It will sound unusual but the pharmacy service is great too. Each of the sections has further sub divisions and you will be able to find various brands. Keep visiting if you want to get hands on your favourite Indian snack as they run out pretty fast

Went there to get okra that was on their flyer. They didnt have the brand, but they had nearly identical brand for full price. Asked the cashier and she didnt help me. Asked one of the stockers and he didnt help me. Dont put stuff on a flyer if you dont sell it, you scammers

Great grocery store! I love that they have some Korean and international items! Like Melona ice cream and Jasmine green tea from China. My mom lived buying giant 3L pickle jars and also we love buying cheap buckwheat here. Some items are not very cheap here, but others are good price.

Freshco is one of the friendliest grocery stores I have shopped at. The cashiers are friendly and the Manager and his wife are awesome! The store is clean and the staff on the floor are friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend shopping there!

Owner Taryn interviewed my teen daughter (who has worked 4-5 years experience with Sobey’s) hired her on the spot. Unfortunately on the day my daughter was to start, she was congested with cough and so she called to explain, was thanked for being responsible and not coming in sick — but then days later told she wasn’t being hired after all. So clearly they penalize staff by expecting them to work sick during a pandemic. As a healthcare provider myself, I’d be worried for health concerns to not shop here if staff work sick. Not to mention unfair way to treat local kids when you supposedly need experienced staff. ????????

It was horrible. A customer complained that I was too close to them in the line, a store worker then asked me to please stay 2 meters away from the person in front of me. I told him that I’ll stand wherever I want, it is a free country, I don’t care about COVID19 or social distancing I’ll stand where I want to. I wasn’t going to move it is just not right. The worker then went and got the manager who once again said please sir stand 2 meters away from the next customer, i refused and then the manager kicked me out of the store, he said i was endangering public health, i dont care ill stand where i want this is canada not a dictatorship.

There seems to be a heavy like depression over that place when you walk in..associates need to smile and greet people more and pick up the good spirit in the place. Otherwise, I like shopping there for looking the deals.

Great selection of many items including decent quality and variety of fresh produce and fresh meats. Reasonable prices on most items. I believe I have been able to price match while shopping here as well. Only place that carries the brand and varieties of yogurt my family likes. Another bonus to soon to be moms or new moms is the vitamins and other information that they provide at the pharmacy desk. I would recommend checking out this store if you have never visited. Hopefully you will find your new favorite grocery store.

My 84 year old mother asked me to go on the internet and tell everyone how great her service was at FreshCO. She says that she had an amazing cashier, a young man with blonde hair and glasses, who realized that she needed help so he called over another young man with dark hair and glasses who packed her bags and helped her to her car. No other grocery store has ever done this for her. It moves my heart to hear about how well my mum was treated. I will for sure always shop at FreshCO because of their amazing customer service. Thank you so much, I wish more stores were like FreshCo.

FreshCo is always a good place to do your shopping. We find at the fruits and vegetable section is always neat and clean and tidy and well-organized. The staff are very courteous very knowledgeable and they help you find things that you need. The FreshCo here has a great meat counter with all the cuts of meat presented very well. If you're looking for a store to go to as another alternative I recommend this FreshCo.

Good place to shop. They have a wonderful array of Asian Products (especially Indian and Filipino produce). The supermarket does not have a butcher section which improves the overall experience of doing grocery shopping.
