Friend and I went for a PCR test for our trip first thing in the morning. Pharmacist stated that there was a 99.9% chance I would get my results that very night, quicker than what other pharmacies advertise. Perfect!
Got a call that same day at 530pm (when all pharmacies have already sent out their final PCR tests for the day) and the pharmacist said I should “cancel my trip” immediately because their lab was down and I will not be getting my results. Who calls a customer and starts a conversation with cancel your trip? I asked them to help me figure something out as all of the other pharmacies were done completing tests. They said they’d call me back immediately and help me out. Never returned my call. I called back again two times with the same response each time, “I will call you back”. Ok. Never happened. With no response and an incoming flight I went and paid for another urgent test as it they made it clear I wasn’t getting any thing.
I call the pharmacy the next morning asking for a refund and they tell me that the results have actually been posted. I received no update, call back, or email and had already gone and paid for another test. They simply kept telling me they’d call me back to discuss the refund which they never did. In fact they kept pretending they didn’t speak to me and I spoke to someone else. It was the same pharmacy manager the entire time….
I called twice again after my trip for my refund and they again said they’d get the manager to call me back. Never happened.
Yes this may be the cheapest place currently for a Covid test but it actually ended up costing me double in the long run, not to mention the stress.
If you actually want to receive your results and not potentially lose your entire trip, do yourself a favour and pay the additional money and do your test someplace else
