I would give 5 stars to the general floor staff/till workers and shopping at a discount price. I would give 0 stars to the morning "manager" that likes to make new hires feel like complete numbskulls. (AUG 7-2018) First day on the job, my son was told to "buzz in at the front door", when he did so, he was asked, "why didn't you follow that other person in, I guess common sense isn't so common". (doing what he was told, reminder!!! FIRST DAY!) Secondly! filled out new hire paper work, the comment was "oh you're finally done. Thought I'd have to read that to you". Under no circumstance or job is this an acceptable way to speak to anyone! What were you implying? illiteracy? There is probably a reason it is so hard to fill these positions within your company if this is how people are talked to at 6 am on their first day. It IS hard to find good employees, yes, but here is a prime example of why! a weee little bit of power and $0.15 over minimum wage and they think they own the company. GT, its time to take a long look at who you have training new hires and representing your company as a whole. I personally will not darken your door again.

Astonishingly Retarded & Foreign till staff, went to Execute a Simple straightforward Refund when on the Reverse side of my Receipt it SHOUTS As follows: CHEERFULLY guaranteed, Satisfaction guaranteed or your money cheerfully refunded with presentation of sales receipt - No Time Limit. Plus Absolutely none of my items were NON final Sale like tobacco ,lottery, undergarments gift/prepaid cards. But was Still Denied a Refund by a African immigrant manning a Till. Said immigrant Spouted look at the date and claimed my items were parishables which they Weren’t. Going back and Getting my Refund Directly. And Telling management to better train these retards to get the policy on refunds straight. Worse store than Walmart where I hear you don’t even need a receipt for a Refund.Should be called Giant China cause absolutely everything is Super low Grade Chinese goods.

Nothing on sale was in stock. Coolers were empty and not faced. Everything was at the back of the shelf. It was difficult to get anything off the shelf if you're short in height. Staff was not helpful. Signs were not posted that items were out of stock. Floors were very dirty. Hand sanitizers were empty and no sanitizer and towel to wipe down cart handles. In the area where they washed the floor...no warning signs. The cashier didn't clean the pin pad after I used it.

Clean, well stocked. Of the 5 staffers I saw, two had no masks on despite the sign in the entryway stating that all staff would. One had a face mask (happy to see that catching on, the data supports those as a mask alternative) and two others had masks. However, one of the masks was being worn with the nose exposed, reducing its effectiveness greatly. All in all, this is actually a HIGHER rate of compliance with COVID precautions by the staff than most of Grande Prairie seems to have. There were no signs that mentioned pin pad disinfecting, no signs on the floor to indicate six foot seperations etc.

Now thinking about it, this Giant Tiger has been here for quite a long time. Giant Tiger is definitely a great place to buy things. They have quite a lot of clothes for men and women and children. Things you can use outdoors like a pool floaty. They also have a good selection of food and shampoo as well as horse shampoo. I realize that is very random. Depending on how busy it is at the time, the lines can get a bit crazy but its a nice place to stop by and look around.

They had plenty of product although when I arrived there were NO clean shopping carts available. As I am disabled I really need to use a cart to do my shopping. We had to wait in line for quite a while cause there was an Issue with the cash register not opening. Should have called for another worker right away. A handful of staff are friendly and efficient, but much of the time they don't know when to call for other associates to come to cash. Many wander around and just leave when they see a line up. Long waits in lines, not the first time I've had to leave empty handed (only needed 1 item) after waiting up to 20 minitues (being generous it was much longer at times) seems to always be with 1 particular associate. Sad. Will take my business elsewhere from now on :(

Their pricing practices are unethical. First they leave the lower price displayed on the product, but it's priced higher at the till. How many people don't catch the discrepancy? Then they remove the price on the floor, while continuing to raise the price. Butter was priced at $3.89. At the till they were charging $3.98. The price today was way over $4.00 and there still was no price on the floor. This was done over a couple of months. How much more profit did they make from their unsuspecting innocent customers? You expect American companies to screw Canadian consumers, you don't expect Canadian companies to practice such unethical pricing scams. Never shopping there again.

I had a cashier there named Amanda.B give me a hard time about purchasing some thin crust pizzas because there was a customer limit of 4 with no sign up. I wasnt trying to buy more then the limit I had put 6 in my kart, 2 of each type of pizza and there was no sign that said there was a limit. I asked if i could buy the 2 extra since we have to come into the store as separate customers and that it would be a waste of my time and a health risk to get back in line outside of the store ( my wife is pregnant and has sever asthma ) so being out in the store is a risk already but we need food to eat and maternity clothes ect ... she then said " well you come from your apartments across the street together so i wont sell you these 2 pizzas". First of all we dont know this person so why is she talking about our place of residence and second of all we dont need people that we dont know in that store knowing where we live that was very rude and ignorant of her to do. Amanda.B is rude and I guess she just wanted us to get back in the corona conga line so my pregnant wife gets sick and has complications with her health and pregnancy. I will be calling the head office in Ottawa and writing a letter to the founder and owner Gordon Reid. Enjoy it while it last Amanda.B. You should just sold us the 2 thin crust pizzas instead of being rude.

I shop at Giant Tiger a few times a week in Ottawa and they always have great staff. I will NEVER return to this location. Cashier tried to make me feel cheap for using a coupon when they were busy. Giant Tiger in Grande Prairie Alberta is a great store. It keeps carts wiped down and provides hand sanitizer and masks at the door. It had a great clothing selection as well as groceries. Disappointed in the staff's, very unfriendly and they chat with the customers at cash while others are waiting in line. Customers get angry and impatient. Also when there is a long line up at the ticket counter they won't call another cashier to help get the line up down faster. I also really wish they would have their staff stock shelves after hours because it's hard to shop when they are standing in your way.

The building is old but dont hold that against them. They are basically a nic nac store. You wont find much for brand names but they do have a bit of everthing, food to clothes to electronics. Its not a big inventory but what they do have will suprise you and its at a good price, so keep that in mind. If you have never bean in here before I suggest you stop by and check it out. a good store, very friendly and helpful staff but I can only give it 4 out of 5 stars because so many items never have prices posted. Bags of deicer outside of the store, bring them inside to find out how much they cost because no price is posted, on and on it goes with countless items.

An item that was supposed to be on sale, didn’t come up on sale at register. It was like pulling teeth to get them to honour sale price, the Female Manager was difficult. She insisted that was online only, it wasn’t. The cashier even suggested that was the price of the item at the US giant tiger. Yikes, GT isn’t in the States. Worst GT experience ever.
