I don’t like coming here unless I have too, their reptiles always look so young compared to the ages most breeders decide they ready to be sold. I also have been in and found myself helping other customers with cat litter because the person at till doesn’t know anything about the products they sell! Another occasion I had asked if they had African dwarf frogs and was met with “I’m not sure, maybe.” And then the employee just left?? Never came back to give me a yes or no..

I like the service at petsmart for supplies for pets. I have found that their knowledge of the animals they sell is very commercialized and comes from the pet supply companies. So it is really designed to help sell the supplies.

Terrible place for grooming. I had always gone to the one in Grande Prairie where I used to live, but in Medicine Hat there is no way I will ever go back. There is better places in town for customer service and especially grooming. Don't waste your time. I had to drive across town early in the morning and they had requested the vaccination booklet which I understand so I brought it with me. My dog had all the necessary vaccine and by the end of this year he will be due to get the rabies shot since it's recommended every 3 years. Mine had his last one in 2015 and we are in 2018. The guy refused to see my dog since it wasn't recent enough for him. I have an adult dog, 5 lbs that doesn't bite nor is in contact with other dogs. I've always had my dog groomed with no problem elsewhere in town and in other provinces. First time I come across that requirement and they could have told me over the phone that they wanted it done within the last 2 years instead of having me get up at 6 am and drive 20 min to waste my time. That goes to show me that if you are sooo afraid to groom an adult 5 lbs dog without getting bitten by him you must be terrible at your job. It's unfortunate that I'll have to wait longer to get an appointment elsewhere since I have allergies and can't wash my dog by myself. I usually bring him almost every month to a pet groomer in order to keep my allergies under control. I shouldn't have rushed to go to the first available place. I learned my lesson.

Love this pet store, super nice. Has the cat food I need along with some on sale treats! I do hate that betas are kept in little cups, (note this was long ago)-but the staff that were there strongly believed bettas lived in puddles. Ma'am if you do some research theyre not like rain puddles their more like mini ponds. I understand you are trying to preserve their fins from catching on decore but i do feel so sad for those guys with only a sad leaf to cover themselves with, i think you would have more sales if they were placed in larger tanks even with dividers! They swim around and hide sometimes lay on the decore (lil weirdos) but I think if people saw that they'd get the notion of them being a fish that can survive in a flower vase and a 'boring lifeless' fish out of their heads! And become more inclined to purchase them (they are truly so beautiful if you've given the correct care.

Horrible service!!!!!!! I had appointment for my dog to get grooming services (bath). After dropping my dog, they called me after 1 hour that my dog was ready to pickup.. I went there, an employee told me that “she couldnt washed my dog because the dog didn’t feel like it”. Is this a joke? Or are they using drugs? What kind of business is this? They made me wait 1 hour and then telling me BS!!!! I had to call the customer service and explained what I have experienced. They said they will go thru cameras and find out which employee is doing that. Think twice when you go there and also bring your dog papers cause they would give you hard time also. I experienced twice. I will not go there and also i will tell my friends not to go there. !!!!

The experience was great. I had Marcella as a pet trainer for a class back in the day and the class was superb. Learned so much in the class and I could tell a huge difference in my ability to work with dogs from the beginning to the end. Me and my Fiance adopted a dog a year ago and I apply so much of the knowledge I picked up in this class in raising her. The store is well layed out and the service is typically good. The pet staff seem knowledgable and I typically have a good experience here.

To be fair I have had issues with some of my previous fish not taking the transition to a new larger tank all too well, but I've since concluded this was my fault and I didn't cycle my tank long enough. Now that I've properly cycled it my new fish are happier than ever in their 36 gallon tank!

Extremely disappointed. First of all a container of 50 superworms is $7 at PetSmart whereas at Petland it's $8 for 100 superworms. When I got home there were only 7 live superworms in the container and about 10 ish half-eaten ones. I went to the store the next day and they wouldn't refund me my money or at the very least give me a new container of superworms. I have a feeling this isn't the first time they've ripped off their customers. Edited to add everytime I'm in this store it is very difficult to find any staff for assistance and it's always a pretty hefty line at the till. I can never visit this store hoping for it to be a pleasant and quick shopping experience.

I can't say enough amazing things about Tim's grooming. We have a shepherd/Akita cross and a husky, and they were shaggy creatures in the middle of fur blowout. Tim didn't even blink! He was delighted to see them, they were actually excited to go with him, and now they're soft and look like showdogs. Seriously! Tim was also very knowledgable about coat types, long term needs, and even though our dogs can be very vocal, didn't complain at all- just talked about how lovely they are! I will absolutely make the drive from Calgary for the great service and attitude I found in Lethbridge.

To say that the Fredericton location is a joke would be a HUGE understatement. The variety of fish is horrible and the amount of tanks they stock is laughable. If they have a sale on a tank(if they do it's probably only one in stock if any) your better off going into the store because should you call to ask if they have one that's on sale you'll probably get a "no" whether they have one or not. Fredericton needs more options for pet supply stores so people aren't forced to choose between petsmart and pet valu

Took my dog Missy there today to get groomed. She got a bath and blow-dry.. the gal suggested the "chi" treatment for her very dry skin (we just moved from BC and it's very dry here!) She smells absolutely fabulous.. and is sooo soft. It was definitely worth the extra 25 dollars. I also have never received a better nail trimming in my life! Way to go PetSmart and Hunter who did the grooming seevice. I will be back soon!!

I don't usually go to PetSmart for items for my pets. I'm not a fan of that big corporation. Prices are a bit overpriced in my opinion. They do not have anything special that would make me go out of my way for my regular shopping in pet needs. Their PetSmart rebate program isn't that great, especialIy if you are looking for something specific. I think locally owned pet stores have just as much to offer. Sorry PetSmart, you're not on my list of recommendation.

We have been taking our Old English Sheepdog to the grooming salon at Petsmart every 6 months for 9 years. We have always been happy with the services received and the staff have always been friendly and helpful. Until today. At our last appointment in October, we pre-emptively booked our girl in for her next groom in April as we always do. I called today (April 2) to confirm the appointment and was told that there was no appointment booked. I explained that we had booked in October 2018 for April 5th, 2019. I was then told that oh yes, there had been an appointment booked for us but it was cancelled due to the groomer being on medical leave. I asked why I hadn't been called with this information, to which the man rudely said "Oh, I'm sure you WERE called..." He went on to tell me that they were now booking into July, which I tried to explain was too long for my full coat sheepdog to wait, which is why we routinely book her in every six months. He was not apologetic at all and simply kept telling me that he could get me in in July. I am very disappointed that I was not informed of the cancellation and then required to rebook 4 months later, and will now be going elsewhere for my dog's grooming needs.

We took our dogs here asking for a specific short length left on and they come back with a short haircut everywhere except; tails, faces, ears, and legs. When we first asked to groom them, we made sure the groomer's knew that we wanted the same length EVERYWHERE (because of course it's happened before). One of two places in town that sells insects (gross!). Them gross insects are what make our beloved reptiles gorgeous and healthy. Petsmart has HORNWORMS They aint cheap, but they are pure protein, fat, so much yoyr rep never gets If they are suggested for your friend to try then dont cheap out and pay for the big green spiky hellspawn-your reptile(s) will love it!* Hornworms have a 'foot' much like catapillars and millions of them things. The 'foot' is not their many feet-the name was stolen from marine biology. It is a part on their butt that anchors them HARD they will grab onto paper and gecko faces. Hand feed accordingly. Also dont let them bite your smaller reptiles, they might never eat them again from fear of the hellworms. Ask PetSmart about them, i can vouch they are one of very few providing the food for our best coldblooded buddies... PetSmart rocks. The manager is da best.

Most stuff is WAY overpriced. I don't mind spending a bit more so I can buy it local and have it the same day, but 20 bucks for a simple nylon leash? No thanks. Especially when I can go next door to the dollar store and get the same thing for 3 bucks. On the flip side, they probably have the best selection of pet related products in Lethbridge. So if you're in a bind, they'll probably have what you're looking for.

I was looking for kitten baby bottles which, for some reason were not in the cat section. A young man asked if he could help me. He said yes, I don't look like I work here but I do. He had his winter jacket over top of his blue shirt. He showed me where the cat baby bottles were. While I was at the cash, I heard this same young man tell a customer that he was done his shift, and just waiting for his cab. He helped me even though he was done his shift. I didn't get his name, but Bravo to this young man.

Went into te store today wanting a fish, was unaware that I have to be 18 to purchase a fish. I waited for over an hour to be told that I wasn't able to buy it. There are no signs or anything that lets you know that you have to be a certian age, the staff completely ignore my questions and the one supervisor was completely rude to myself as well as my younger siblings. Would expect a little more respect from a supervisor to a customer that is unaware of policy's and to young children. Not impressed at all by the service.

We were there today before 5pm to buy some fish but was dissapointed. We've been waiting for someone to assist us and 2 guys in the cash register saw us but didn't do anything as if nobody is there. Keep on talking and talking, then i approached 1 guy and ask him if somebody's working in the fish area, he said "name of a person" (cant remember) should be there. Then paged someone but still nobody assist us. We decided to leave, walked infront of the 2 guys and they didnt say anything. You call that customer service.

Went to this store today to pick up something that, based on websites, seemed to be the only pet store to carry the product. When we arrived, a staff member who was off shift immediately asked what we were looking for, as it was clear it was our first time in the store and we were lost. He walked us to the product and helped us out. When we were leaving, the product, in a rather large box, was awkward to carry and a staff member who was just arriving to start her shift immediately came over to ask if she could assist with opening my car. The staff at the till was also amazing. Kudos to all of you - this kind of service is much appreciated and shows how much you enjoy your job!

Found crap smeared on the floor and had the misfortune to step on some. Not only that the crates are all misplaces and unpriced, cashiers are NEVER present but always chatting in a group in the back. And lastly what help did they give when the SPCA went down? I'm never donating charity money to them again nor shopping there. The animals can't be socialized as they are behind glass and the chinchillas have very little space. Its sad what they do to them.

This review last year would of been much higher. There aquarium/aquatic section has taken a hit. Many things have been out of stock for months and staff never know when they will restock. They say corporate just sends it and they get what they get. The fish selection is also way to generic compared to some other petsmart locations in the province.

Drove to petsmart Fredericton 6am from woodstock for appointment with dogs records but was not told when booked she needed her rabie shots. I was very disappointed in the state of the self-seve dog wash area at the Orillia location. It was not cleaned or sanitized between uses and covered in dog hair (tub, walls, towels). The shower flow was broke and only sprayed a hard stream, which made it hard to rinse my dogs face. I hope this issue can be resolved.

Update: PetSmart is moving and hopefully this means a better selection of aquarium and reptile supplies! The selection of fish is pitiful compared to stores in other provinces. I say this because I will not buy online. I prefer to view in person. That being said, there are dead fish left in aquariums nearly every time I visit and with the exception of one guy in the fish department, the others are pretty daft. They'll all tell you something different. Do your own research on compatibility, disease, etc. Speaking of, if you do buy fish, they will nearly always be sick, especially livebearers, because they run all of the tanks on the same system and tanks are over stocked for size. At least they put the fish medications back on their shelves finally!

Prices are pretty good but you don’t know where the animals or live feeders come from. I bought a bearded dragon there months ago and he ended up with gout through genetics, he passed away and didn’t grow at all. He was 28g when he should’ve been 300-400g. It’s a good place to buy accessories but not live pets, they can be full of diseases and it hurts when you can’t help them but you bought them trusting your pet will be healthy.
