They randomly pick people to check their receipt on the way out the door, even if you just came from a cashier & have bags in your cart. Causes customers to leave feeling like they look like a thief/feeling untrusted. Customers who leave with a negative experience will tend to not return.

By far the worst Walmart I’ve ever shopped in Canada and the US. This was a Sunday at 530pm store was wide open and full of customers. I completely understand you need to stock shelves, but when it impacts your ability to even shop or walk down into a department. This was Girls clothing, and my 3rd attempt this week to shop here.

This is the worst Walmart in Ontario. I used to work at this location so most of my hatred is due to knowing the idiots who are allegedly 'managing' this store. They're useless and they would be more useful splattered on the road because at least there's something interesting to look at then. They will schedule one person for each department, which usually ends up meaning long wait times for any help if there are more than 2 customers. Also, if the one employee goes on lunch then customers are screwed, because management is too cheap to schedule someone who works in the department; they just get a cashier who knows nothing about the department to cover. So the customer better not have any questions because the cashier won't know. Every single customer complains about the photo kiosks because they're terribly outdated and painfully slow but management is too cheap to upgrade them. They're too cheap to even put chairs there, which would be a decent thing to do as it takes hours to complete simple orders when the machines keep crashing. Oh and if you ever wanna steal a TV, try this location because management will literally let you walk out the front doors with one. It's happened several times before. None of them have the balls to do anything. Anyone who has stepped into this Walmart will definitely know what I'm talking about. It's a miserable store with good, hard working employees who are being pushed down. All the problems here are because of the sad excuse for management. I hope management reads this because I want them to know what wastes of skin I think they are and how every employee at that store will rejoice when the store is cleaned out and actual managers are brought in.

Watched an African-Canadian man get harassed over his purchase, followed shortly by a half dozen white people who didn't get stopped, next up was a native guy who seemed irked at always being stopped despite having a single item and a receipt in hand with that item on it. Worker seemed indifferent but apologized half-heartedly. Pretty greasy to racially profile. Do better, Walmart. Bring back the greeters, get rid of the accusatory staff.

Overall a good place but whoever is responsible for the overhead announcement system needs to fix the volume. It’s too loud, when they start you can’t have a conversation and what’s worse it’s so loud the feedback distorts the voices making it difficult to make out what’s being yelled at you. Had no carts when I went in literally had a 15 minute wait to get one. When I get to the cash with 150 dollars in groceries I am told there are no bags. The adjacent cashier had so much cologne I was afraid. I have asthma and it was thick to draw breath. I resent being forced to do a cashier's job at the self check out without being paid or getting a discount for my services. Then, after dropping several hundred dollars each time I shop, I have my receipt checked at the door like a common criminal. The return service has now changed and is not as flexible as it was. That was what set Walmart head and shoulders over the competition and it will be the straw that broke the camel's back to undo them. Obviously Walmart's are now foreign owned by those who are clueless about customer service.

Visited at 9am. Waited in line at the self serve checkouts for 5 minutes to pay for one item. You have 20 self serve machines, why are only 4 open? I overheard another customer enquire about this whilst he was using the machine. After he left, he was then described as "rude" by the attendant to her supervisor - the supervisor then described the customer as "one bad apple". You simply cannot have this level of disregard for customers who raise valid concerns, whether you agree with how they were raised or not. The fact that this exchange happened at the self serve area, with customers in queue, within earshot, does make you wonder about the conversations happening in private. Very disappointed by this experience in what is normally a pleasant location, and I truly hope this review will be taken as constructive feedback by management as opposed to just another complaint.

This Walmart is in the right place in the middle of Town. Parking place is big and massive. You'll always get a space for the parking. Toilets are also available in Walmart, but you have to find it if you need it :D It's a perfect size of the market place for Town around itself. I'll revisit this place in the future. It was once you got into the store but they need more buggy carts as my wife cannot walk around the stores after her car accident and all of the buggies they had their we're not in service because they were charging. So even if they have some emergency backup ones in case of this happening as the long weekend to get busy they would have more to accommodate disabled persons.

Your customer service is awful. My son tried twice to return a water cooler and first time he was told that "we can't accept a return that is over $150" and then added that the "person responsible for returns gets mad when they accept returns over $150", because apparently it requires a little extra paperwork, sounds like that employee shouldnt be working there if she/he cant follow job description. Also, employees shouldnt be telling a customer that an employee gets mad, and doesnt want to do their job! Then the second time, he had called the 1-800# and was told that "the employee(s) at the store shouldnt have told him that he couldnt return an item over $150" and they instructed him to take it back again, and if he had a problem to call back. So he gets there, they tell him the same thing, so he calls the 1-800# and asked them to speak with the store employee, and the store employee refused to talk to them. The 1-800 person told my son they would send him a shipping label via email, which he got, so now the post office tells him he needs to box it. So, you people are unbelievable. This is the worst customer service ever. And the worst part is, you were soooo rude to him. You definitely don't belong in a customer service position, you first need to learn how to be professional and polite, and learn how to deal with the public.

Good variety of items and decent prices mostly. Often horrible washrooms (typically due to intoxicated "patrons". The staff (aka, one lady employed there who does the cleaning solely) actually clean it well). Mix of helpful, polite, knowledgeable staff, and rude, obviously oblivious, and completely negligent staff. One of the main hubs for people to walk around and window shop. There is a McDonald's restaurant conveniently located inside the store near the entrance.

I am really disappointed with the customer service at this Walmart. The manager was unhelpful. Purchased a bike for my kids and the brakes didn't work. I adjusted the breaks and still didn't work. Such a huge corporation and couldn't help me exchange for a different bike, for store credit, or get them fixed. I can't believe it. I just moved to FSJ and I won't be shopping at this store.

It's not the staff that is the problem at Walmart, it's some of its customers. In my own opinion I will never use those self checkouts they take away jobs from people. I will stand in line for an hour to be waited on. The young exchange students that work there are very friendly and always greet you with a smile. Not like the customers who complain about them. People in general should be more nicer and not hateful . If you don't like exchange students here in Cape Breton maybe you should leave because you are giving Cape Bretoner's a bad name. I grew up in the Pier where there was many nationalities, and we had no problem there so. So people, the problem is not with the exchange students working at local stores it is the customers that have the problem. #1 frustrating thing about FSJ Walmart is the grocery shelves are always low. It seems that every time I go, no matter what day of week there shelves are bare? I don't know if it is high demand or just lack of insight as to how much to order to stock the shelves? The difference between this Walmart and others City/towns Walmart is noticeable?
