Everything I got was on sale!! In this store, there are a lot of very good deals and the prices of the items are pretty good. They have a good meat selection and good seafood. The staff that work there are all very nice all the time and make my shopping trip excellent. The eggs are just exquisite and are perfectly packaged. They have a fine selection of many everyday condiments including ketchup, mustard and relish. As well as many flavours of pickles from dill to sweet. They also sell a wide variety of toilet paper. This is just my opinion but trust me in saying that this place is amazing. ????

One of my favorite grocery stores in town. They have a good selection of All the Basic Foods, plus. They always have rotisserie roasted chickens available to go at a really fair price. They have wide aisle just for ethnic foods. You don't need a quarter for the shopping carts. Unfortunately they don't make cardboard boxes for your groceries available anymore. The fresh produce section is always well stocked and he even has a few exotic items available. Prices throughout the store are quite acceptable.

I'm not the only one irritated by this; I once saw an older person so frustrated that he threw his basket down, said "F*** it," and ran out the nearest exit. Great service above and beyond. Was 10 am sunday. There was express and one checkout open. Having a full cart i went to the normal checkout where there was a older woman working. She was so friendly and proceeded to bag all of my groceries sorting cold from dry into bags and placing them in my cart when complète. I have never experienced such great service in my life ... I did Not ask her to do this and told her she did not have to but she wanted to... This woman deserves a raise, shes basically the face of your store and definetly giving food bassics a great name. Hats off to this lady for taking pride in her job!

It's not the best at the Covid rules... Some of the employees that work at the door, don't have their masks on properly (nose sticking out), more then once. My experience at food basics was magical. I have never been in a better environment by which being surrounded by so many black people made me feel secure. The pharmacy is great and house wears always have the newest trends. Don't even mention the sports section to your husband cause he will go nuts! I recommend spending all your money here everyday until you need to go on welfare oh and don't forget to wear your pyjamas and smell like dope as you attend your magical journey into simcoes Food Basics!

The store is large, bright, very clean and the staff is friendly, not to busy. A shopping cart is mandatory to enter the store. The individual at the entry door was monitoring peoples entry and was making people comply. I asked why. They said it was because they wanted to keep a count on individuals in the store.(COVID19 restricton only allows so many to enter). I just needed coffee and didn't want to touch a cart even if it had just been cleaned. I left and went elsewhere. I did go back the following week and was given a cart.....stay safe.

Great store before Covid. I had to go in with my 3 kids (oldest is 8). All 4 of us needed to take a cart so they could track how many people were in the store? Needless to say, my kids left their carts throughout þhe store. It appears many others did the same thing. This now turns into a dangerous situation if there were a reason to evacuate. You'd be tripping over carts left everywhere, trying to get put. Just terrible.

Contrary to other recent reviews we found that the pricing was really high at this location especially on meats. The chicken breasts (package of 5) had watery residue flooding the styrofoam packaging, kind of gross to be honest. We will likely stick to Costco when shopping Orillia for groceries.

Very unpleasant experience here. We were checking out and the cashier didn't ask if we wanted bags (but she asked the people before and after us) and my boyfriend didn't remember to ask for any until I reminded him after he finished paying. I told to ask for bags as I left to walk around the conveyor belt where all the paid items come out. After a bit my bf joined me. She started throwing bags in the other conveyor belt so I thought he'd asked and she was giving it to us. I go to grab it and she starts yelling at us with the rudest tone that it wasn't ours and that we didnt ask for any and humiliated us in front of everyone.

This location is very well stocked, open late and 7 days a week. I would say it is one of the best locations in Orillia for produce year round with low prices. Beer and wine is also available for sale here. They seem to have a good rotation of craft beers from week to week with the constant big three breweries available as well.

Waited in a line for 10 minutes. Cashier continued to ring people in not saying anything to anyone no sign up saying lane is closed. The other two lanes were full had 10-15 people we get up to the lane and buddy says hate to tell you this (after ringing the people ahead of us half way through) I'm done after this order. We're like what the heck are you kidding me like we've waited you couldn't tell us before? You can ring us in we have 5 things and there are 6 people behind us. Nope I'm done so can't do it I have to be out at a certain time you'll have to go to the back of a line. So we got mad and they called the manager Victoria. She just said turn the light off too bad. So we dropped all our stuff on the counter and left. Absolutely disgusting. If he was shutting his lane down that's fine we should've been told way ahead of time so we could go to another line and not waste our time. I understand the cashier has to leave and he wasn't scheduled later and would probably get in trouble if he stayed in later but we should have been told, not made to go to the back of a long line and the manager should have come up and done her job.

FINALLY!! A store without silly arrows stuck all over their floors! It's amazing that people were able to keep their distance and move about without needing directions! Grocery shopping here was sooo much less stressful than at stores with roped off areas to 'direct' people through the store! Thanks! Really really upbeat and positive minded cashiers! You all make the difference. It's not Just the price that matters.

Was given a rain check on 2 different occasions for an item that was unavailable when I was there 2 times. Went 3 times to use them and still no product. Finally on the 4th time going (not quite 2 weeks from time of issue} they had stock but refused to honor their rain checks. They said they were expired and the manager would not honor them. I hope the manager is happy because this customer is not.... I won't be back........
