Other than the Pharmacy Manager, Troy and 2 of the techs that usually worked the Mon-Fi day shift, the rest of the Pharmacy staff are horrible to deal with and very rude. I was a patient that had 4 back surgeries within 2 years and have dealt with bad pain and chronic pian and was on oxycodone for that pain for almost 3 years. Due to this I felt like a was a lesser human being, treated rudely and just always felt horrible when I left this pharmacy unless Troy was working. To be honest, I would have left this pharmacy if it were not for enjoying the interaction with Troy.
I moved away from PEI to NS and have since found other ways to deal with my pain and have come off the oxycodone.
Today I called the "Friendly" Pharmacy to ask if they could mail me receipts for a couple of medications I was on that I had to pay out of pocket for. The tech I was talking to suggested it be easier if they print off the "Official Receipt Report" and I thought that would be best and much easier on the staff. I asked if they could mail the report to me as I moved out of province. Mind you, she confirmed who I was when I originally called. I heard someone in the background and then she replied for security that they are not allowed to mail it out. I then asked if she could fax the report to my current pharmacy in NS. She asked the pharmacists and said that they could. I said great, I will call back with the fax number.
When I called them back, she informed me that the pharmacists figured they would not be able to fax it out after all.
Here I am looking for the info for 4 prescriptions filled and was just looking to have it mailed out and ok with that. Now, having the same old feelings of pretty much being discriminated against, I was getting pissed off. How the heck does someone get their "Official Tax Report", as they offered, to do their taxes? They said in person. I replied that people do move and how do they get their report? They said get a family member to come get it. However, that is not possible.
I was told that they cannot fax it out and cannot mail it out and to call Monday and talk to ok the Pharmacy Manager.
I really wished I had delt with a different Pharmacy when I lived on the Island. I said it before but I only stayed as Troy and a couple of the Techs were great.
The rest of them don't have the time of day for you. You can hear them talking amongst themselves and you know they are talking about you.
Don't dare get hurt or have a long lasting injury requiring pain meds as they will treat you like you are horrible person or an addict.
As for the Friendly in the name, I suggest they rename the place.
Do yourself a favor, go to Murphys. My wife delt with them and absolutely loved them.
