Consider this Bay a walk in history with a modern feel. Items are typically high-end. Tons of Bay blankets, wool jackets, Bay socks, and other high quality, recently manufactured items you would have expected out of a Bay in 1950. True, the selection is limited. However, the feel is still of a Bay that intends to provide service and quality instead of just a convenient place to buy clothing.

What's not to like about this iconic store? I grew up shopping at the Bay, and my mum and I still like to shop here together. Great sales on women's clothing and shoes, and we've purchased a lot of furniture here over the years. Nice staff and convient location.

I find the store a little overwhelming at times. They have lots and lots of selection and lots of different departments of the store. Sometimes it's a little hard to find things but if you can find a staff member they will point you in the right direction. Things are usually pretty well priced and there was lots of lots of exciting things in their sale sections.

In town on a work conference and forgot to pack my running shoes for the gym. On google, I noticed that the Bay was having clearance specials on just that. This location was noted to have some in stock, so I ventured the 25 minute walk through the cold to get some shoes. I was then told by one member of staff that shoes were held at the back of the store. When I couldn't find them, I was told by another that they actually don't carry running shoes during the winter. Please update your inventory online so this does not happen again, though I doubt it would. They did have good sales on shirts. About the only positive. I cannot give less than three stars as the staff were friendly and the store was clean.

Multiple times have i walked around the cosmetics department looking for someone to assist me at the Lancome register. Once i finally found the girl who is supposed to be working at the desk, she was snotty and unhelpful when i asked about the products and if they could get something shipped in for me since they didn't have it in store. Each and every time i go in I'm not happy when i come out, its always the same girl. That's fine! Ill be ordering my hundreds of dollars of Lancome cosmetics online now! Lost my business, returning my products.

A lot of people slagging the Bay for their prices need to remember that they're not competing with Walmart or other discount places. They offer quality products that do, on average, tend to cost more. The Bay is one of the few places in town that offer quality products only, and for that I give them 5 stars.

Nice selection, if a bit pricey. However, I found it difficult to pay for my item. There were staff around who were putting away clothes and only one person anywhere near the till, and she was helping another client. She told me to wait near another cash register, so I did. About 10 minutes went by. Other employees made eye contact with me and could see I was waiting to pay. I was about to leave when someone finally spoke to me and told me to come to another register. I got the impression I was supposed to instinctively know to go there despite no clear signage or positioning.

This department store is a holdover from the 60ties and it's charming, cramped and steeped in tradition. It has the feeling of a bygone area and the limited selection at times reminds me of the olden days, a heightened exclusiveness intermingled with dedicated customer service and old fashioned store keeper skills. Perhaps this sounds a little stuffy for some people but these are also the people that shop here for rock bottom bargain prices never to be seen again except for maybe a bad yelp review or to return an item they bought in blind haste.

I was recently at Hudson Bay in Metrotown and ive noticed that when they did their renovations the dept stores that catered to a specific demogtaphi were renovated to a higher standard....regardless of all that the Hudson Bay Co has survived a major shift in shopping styles where the majority of its competitors have bowed out!

We went for the Gala and had a lot of fun. The girls in cosmetics, particularly the Lancome and Clinique girls, are all so fabulous. I have started shopping here for some of the products I have been ordering from Sephora. The MAC counter is absolutely fantastic. And the girls are so knowledgeable and helpful. Lady at the perfume counter is not very friendly. Would buy my perfume elsewhere rather than deal with someone who acts as though I am bothering her.

Today it was neither represented by either as both flag poles were bare on the outside. ??? It is a resort town and well travelled by Canadians and tourists from around the world. A Canadian flag has always flown proudly above this location since I’ve ever known. Where did it go? Will it fly proudly again above an Iconic Canadian business at this location regardless of who currently owns the Bay? It’s all about Tradition and being proud of a store you manage or work at. As employees you should notice the details. I suggest you pay attention to the details as loyal shoppers always watch how the business is doing within the community. I got a shower curtain at $55 after 30% discount last week, unfortunately I found out the original price is only $50 at the different store. So I went back for the price match, and the male supervisor smiled at me and said he had nothing to do it's what it is. No apology, nothing. I don't care if they're the same entireties, I just know it's Hudson's Bay Home. I chose you for the lower prices and reliable quality. But now you're telling me the same item, same Hudson's bay, but 2 prices with such a big difference (almost $30 difference)??? That's really really ridiculous. I got all my home furniture at this store in January, but I swear I will never ever go back, that's VERY terrible experience.

The store is clean, the associates are very helpful and very nice, and there is a good selection of clothes. This was my first time in the PG Bay and I witnessed 2 sales associates having to intercept what I found out after is a well known, aggressive shoplifter. There should be security for these poor sales associates so they aren't the ones stopping shoplifters, especially aggressive ones. The Bay is a big enough company that they could afford to hire security for a store that it sounds like has quite a lot of aggressive shoplifters!

This store doesn't carry any children's clothes, except for the overpriced stripes brand and even then only for infants. They will lock the back door early on you and stand at the entrance 1/2hr before they close to tell you not to come in. Worst of all, they don't share their bathroom with the public so don't come in here if that's all you are looking for.

Great products, but not well organized. Very poor customer service. We were there over an hour and only one staff member made eye contact or greeted us. They seem to go out of their way to not serve you. I had told my daughter of my past experiences with the poor service and she now can see what I mean. We get excellent service in Nanaimo for example.
