I'll give it a 2 star for being affordable. There's always only 3 lanes open at a time and lines always super long. Don't try to do an online pickup order either because even for that, you'll be waiting 20+ minutes. Not to mention it being packed to the rim with people and most rude without saying excuse me. If i ever come here again, it will be at 2am when everyone should be at home sleeping. Oyyyy

It's 5° outside we just had a snow storm the other day. I went to Walmart to get a winter coat for a baby. To get salt for my driveway. To get a snow shovel. To get a face mask. To get gloves. And to get thermals. They had no prices on any of the thermals.so I didn't realize that they were more expensive than I was willing to spend until check out. They did not have any wool socks. They did not have a shovel, salt, or anything else that I said. When I asked an employee where I can find snow melt, he had no clue what I was talking about so then I asked about shovels and salt to melt the ice. He told me I should go to grocery and get salt. He had no idea what I was talking about. The store is completely unprepared.I literally had to leave and go to Meijer for everything that I needed.

I am so done with Walmart I placed an online order for pickup in Taylor they canceled it at Taylor and sent it to Southgate so I'm in southgate waiting to pick it up been waiting an hour they gave my order to someone else so now I have to wait for them to shop again first they take the cashiers out of the stores now this I'll never shop at Walmart again never

I don't like Walmart to start off with. Here is why I worked for store 1259 in Corbin KY doing set up 1989 my pay 2.25 per hour. Yes, then in 30 days 3.25 per hour. Once the store was opened operational I was placed in pets doing fish, mice, gerbils and birds. Then pulled to cover other departments stocking for other areas and hanging signage and climbing 2 stories on a ladder in the warehouse handing 4x4 posts putting hooks then bicycle from the warehouse roof supports no safety belt or idea of just how dangerous this was. Matt Beltcher was over me made me do it. Then I purchased stocks from the office from my paycheck but never received any certificates after I quit to go back to school. Sam Walton and his 1st board of Wal-Mart known as the expansion crew were not employee friendly but customer service oriented. Now almost 40 years later after Sam's children inherited this monster I feel they are gradually changing into a employee based organization more than ever and offer more employee incentives better working conditions and less rules and regulations that are not flexible. So, I've been shopping more each year than I've done prior and I am impressed with the staff product knowledge and my overall experience. Love the home delivery the selection the services on-site. Absolutely hated doing that damn goofy azz cheer every morning though... Give me a W! Nope!

This has nothing to do with the whole store and everything to do with Online Grocery pickup. I use to work for Pick Up in another state and this is the worst one ever. Employees are rude and every time we have had to wait 30 min or more. No one came out to tell us what is going on and every car that came after would get there items first. I keep trying to give benefit of the doubt, but it ha every single time. No communication at all and just terrible., maybe there should not be pick up here at all.

I counted six employees wearing their masks off their faces and on their chins. There were no carts and I had to run around with my toddler to find one from the parking lot in the rain. The store is dirty and trashy. I don't know why I go here expecting it to be better each time. Filthy. Bye Walmart!!!

DISRESPECTFUL STAFF!! “Coach” Amanda in electronics was very rude to my mother and myself also to a woman who was in line with us. We went to this store because we found out they had stock on the ps5’s. We were told by MULTIPLE associates that the limit was one per household/ group. And by multiple I mean 6 different associates. Amanda counts out 10 people and leaves me and the woman In front of us out and told all of us to leave. She counted a family of 4 in front of us who were clearly all together and said she was going to do it the way SHE wanted to. Very rude and unprofessional she shouldn’t be allowed to “coach” anyone with that kind of attitude.

The store is big but the layout is confusing! Staff was friendly and helpful despite it being a holiday and very busy. I had almost no wait in line for check out but the bottle return was a big hassle and long long wait line to return bottles! PS pet supplies are on the other side of of the store! Ugh great selection of fruits and vegetables

Really like the Southgate store as opposed to the Taylor store that I live around the corner from. I had a return and the Taylor store had 1 associate working and there were about 15 customer's waiting. I left went to the Southgate store they had 2 or 3 associates and no wait time. The store is always clean, in order which shows it is very well managed

Took a drive out to this location because it was the only one that showed the item I was looking for in stock. Ordered online, did curbside pickup, thought all was great until I got home. Went to get the item out of the trunk and the box was a mangled mess with a large hole in it,, was just hoping the item inside wasn't damaged but it was. Shame on the person who picked it out and loaded it in the car. All the other curbside orders I've done at other locations have been great, sorry I can't add this location to that list as well. What a disappointment and a wast of my time.

WORST Walmart ive ever been to in the United States. I travel often and always make a stop at Walmart for any essentials but this has got to be the worst one ive ever been to. The isles were completely empty like they havent been restocked in months. Everything is out of place with wrong price tags. The store is filthy. Trash everywhere and floors all marked up from stains. The staff is not friendly at all nor can you even tell who works there and who doesnt. Please make the drive a few miles south to the nearest other Walmart, I highly recommend that to you do.

I used the Walmart app to do my grocery shopping. I merely showed up at the grocery pickup area, and the Walmart associate was at my car asking my name before I even called the number. I received all the groceries very fast, and the young man was extremely efficient.

Basic grocery store they used to have a seasonal display up front and summer time its filled with fun water toy's, pools and pool essentials but they didnt this year was a bit sad when looking to get the kids a new pool couldnt find one

Have been there the last few nights this week, to pick up either something quick after work or groceries, around 12am - simply because this is the closest Walmart to my home... store is a complete mess. I get its slower hours, but racks and boxes and what not littered about to the point you are unable to freely move and it's a hazard is ridiculous. Freezers are poorly stocked, with product thrown in by staff haphazardly, damaged, and in the wrong spot, other sections were not stocked at all. Its is showing how pointless it is to go there, I am better off going out of my way to Woodhaven in order to get what I want, where I know I will find the stock I need, which is absolutely ridiculous. Staff isn't bad, but it doesn't matter if they are good or not when you can't get what you need in the store.

I can't say 'I love this store'. Its convenient to stop for a thing or two since I work midnights, but I will never grocery shop at Walmart. The shelves are not kept stocked. No matter what day or time I stop in. The shelves are almost empty. They DO NOT have cashiers at night. The first time I went there, I had about $250.00-$ 300.00 in groceries that they expected me to hand scan and bag it all. I left the groceries there. If you need to use the restrooms, don't do it, just water the lawn, ???????????? Some (not all) people are just gross. There is not a shortage of women tearing off maxi pads, tampons and throwing them on the floor or wall ????... WTF... Next time I stop there I will add photos... ????????????????????????

Lines to the back of the store and only 4 registers open. No enforcement of wearing masks/face covering. Nearly half of employees were not wearing masks, or had one on, but it covered literally only their chin. Social distancing was near impossible. I will not be back to this location as its clearly not safe to do so.

This is one of the newer Walmart stores. It is clean and have multiple registers open. They need more staff for the online order pullers since they seem to run behind often. However, the attitudes are pleasant and the produce is fresh.

It's a big box store that carries practically everything under the sun for a decent price. Recently sold my house and wanted to purchase all new items. Was able to get most of my small kitchen appliances and a new TV for a very good price. The only thing I would stay away from is their furniture selection, it's pretty cheap stuff. Otherwise you can't go wrong with everything else. Great food selection also.

One of the worst Walmart stores I've ever seen. The store is a mess. Two registers open with lines going back 15 deep into clothing. This is completely unacceptable. When this was pointed out to the cashier that more registers needed to be opened, her reply was that "the manager might be in customer service, but we're doing our job". She should have called the manager to me, not have me go hunting him down. Very poor customer service and poor attitude from the cashier.

The conditions of this store are horrible. Half the aisles have product scattered across the aisle. Some aisles were blocked by product. Good luck finding anything you want in this store. It's probably where it's not supposed to be or thrown in the middle of the aisle.

It's what you would expect, except that more often than not they don't restock until after they close. Several areas are littered with pallets making it harder to walk through when it's busy. As with any Wal-Mart, there's never enough lanes open.

I was told I wouldn't have any other coast when I arrived at hotel by Expedia then whenni got there I was made to pay a 50$ deposit or they wouldn't honor my reservation. I was a housekeeper for many yrs at quality inn and motel 6 on northline so I stripped my beds and even vacuumed to be sure to get my security deposit back. I even asked the manager at the front desk if there was anyone who could check my room for me before I left to be clear I left it in great condition. I was on 2and floor and the hallway was thick with the smell of Marijuana. Still waiting to see if they are going to refund my security to know how legit they are or not! But my overall stay wasn't bad I did like my room and thought staff was very friendly.

Seemed neat clean and organized. The staff is lacking in product knowledge and location. I heard one woman say i dont know to a customer inquiry and walk away. The prices are very reasonable but you are on your own in the store looking for price scanners. A few Products are not clearly marked with pricing information. They need more price scanners. Only 4 stars because of staff product knowledge, lack of clear price which is against the law and slow checkouts.

I went for 2 items. One in the grocery area, Wal-Mart service rep got on her phone and told me it was only available on line. Then I went to the phone dept. for a charging cable and he said the samething without checking. I found what I needed after about 5 minutes. Went to find him and he was busy with his friend. He came to unlock the cabinet and didn't know how, then his friend slid the door open from the other side. ????

Do not buy wwe cards here. Purchased two boxes today and not a single relic. Each box should at least one. Someone is stealing the packs and filling the boxes back up with garbage. I’m very disappointed. Won’t be coming back ever again. And not to mention they never restock the shelves.

it's Walmart, they have just about anything you need for the weekly shopping experience. I wouldn't recommend this establishment for bottle returns though as I noticed a very long line out the door with a security guard to get in, might want to try somewhere else for that particular experience.

This is my favorite go to Walmart. They have a great selection of food, clothing, and cleaning supplies. They also have a modest arts and crafts area, and a decent selection of cosmetics, toiletries, toys and home goods. Unlike other Walmarts they keep their shelves well stocked. So, I am usually able to find whatever I'm looking for in the store.

Did a grocery pickup order today for the second or third time. Never had any issues before but this time we waited for over half an hour, the associate did not go over substituted items as they always have before, and instead of substituting other flavors of the beverages we ordered, they simply canceled them from the order so we're currently stopped at Meijer to get more of the ICE waters we promised our kiddos. Everyone has an off day and we'll probably give them another chance sooner or later but for now I think we'll stick to Meijer for our grocery pickup. I've never waited more than 10 minutes there. I probably could've shopped it all myself in the 30 minutes we waited today, unfortunately.

I normally have the patience of a saint when it comes to retail workers, but this is pushing it. I had an issue with the pickup system since evidently the item in the size I ordered was not on the shelf, which I didn't find out until after pickup closed and I had gotten a delay notice. Normally it'd be fine, but this was a time sensitive purchase. I was told I could refund/repurchase the order since I was needing to go into the store anyway. I went to the desk with the same item, but in another size, showed the receipt on my phone, and explained the situation. The agent and the manager both acted as if this was a huge waste of time. They said they couldn't refund an order I didn't pickup. I explained the reason I wanted the refund was because I *couldn't* pick it up when I needed it. I wanted a refund for the service I paid for and never received. Eventually the manager shoved (literally) the smaller size item at me and with a snippy tone said "just take this and come back on monday to get the pickup". I gave 2 stars because, yes, I did at least get a smaller size to hold over until I could get the thing I paid for, and I am grateful for that. But the attitude of the workers was just awful. Especially for someone that already has social anxiety surrounded by people who are acting like their concern is just a hassle. I get it, I've worked customer service too, but I never take out those frustrations on a customer, and I only drop the act if the customer steps out of line. This whole encounter I was being as polite and empathetic as I possibly could (in my normal way of saying "sorry" in between every "please" and "thank you" lol).

I love this store...I am from Canada and shop more at your store than the one 1 mile down the road from my house. Please bring back a price check machine. Even just one in the store. Or put prices on all items. As a Canadian I cannot download your app to check prices .. It makes it very difficult to find someone who can help me out with prices. Most of the time I have the cashier ring it through and decide at the cash if I want it or not. Not fair to the cashier or the ppl behind me. Keep up the great work with how amazing your staff is. I shop at the Canadian store maybe once every 2 months. But I am usually at your store every 2 weeks. Even with the crazy exchange it's worth it to me to be somewhere I feel appreciated. Low score is about the frustration for maybe someone who doesnt have a cellphone or cannot download an American app, or someone who doesnt have 4 g. Which I have heard many ppl complain about in your store. Thank you

We paid for a new propane tank ($44). We were told to go to the outside by the garden center and someone will bring it to us . We go there and wait15 min no one shows us. Finally an employee happens to be walking into the garden center where we were . We tell him the situation , he has no idea how to get the propane tank . He tells a different employee, same problem . She calls a manager . Manager comes asks whats going on , we explain again . Finally she brings the propane tank . Talk about horrible customer service . Never again.

If anyone drinks Simply Tropical be sure to check your bottles if purchased from here. My boyfriend purchased two bottles off it and there was bacteria floating around. We called and got very poor response they said they would not inform the department until we drove up till proof and still gave attitude when we showed up she was very childish with her responses

I was there on a Saturday afternoon around Easter for some candy and it was a mad house. No big deal but they were stocking the candy isle during the busiest time. Which is awesome but the staff stocking candy would literally walk in front of you or cut u off to put things away. It was unnecessary and rude. Better management could make a huge difference!

This is the worst most unorganized and dirty walmart I have ever been in . Not only was the parking lot full of trash and papers but the inside was just as nasty. A lot of the shelves we're not stocked. They were unorganized . It was a awful experience. Very few registers were open. Long lines and unhappy faces. Never ever again will I shop at this Southgate Walmart on Dix in Southgate. I tryed 4 times to call the store in the last 2days to speak to the store manager. But after the initial prompts no one answers. Unreal!!!!!!!

The website shows that the items I was looking for were in stock and available at the store.I get to the store and there's nobody working in the department that I'm in and I had to walk across the entire store to find somebody who worked here only for them to tell me that all the websites wrong they don't have a lot of stuff that on the website says they have. So Not only was I ignored the entire hour I was in the store but they had none of the items that the website said they had in stock at the store. once I finally found a person to ask she was very rude and acted like I was bugging her to do her job. Helpful friendly staff. Lots of varieties of many products. Very competitive prices. But for some reason the cereal aisle was in complete disarray that day. Packages opened, food spilled. Essential run; pretty well stocked and it was really busy. Not enough cashier's, they are trying to make you use self-checkout. Self-checkout is okay if you only have a couple of things but if you have a lot I would prefer a real cashier.

This is the best Walmart in the area that I've been to. The store is clean, well marked, and organized. Check out was fast and friendly, parking was easy. The restrooms were clean and we'll stocked. Milk and eggs are super cheap. My only suggestion, put common items closer to the front of the store, ie:. Milk, bread, and eggs. This time the closest Walmart to me, but the drive is worth it to experience a we'll run store.

Assistant Mangers are very rude, store is very chaotic, very unprofessional. The only area in the store I would recommend would have to be the Online pick up, Store manager Amanda is very friendly also seems to care, as for Veronica the assistant manger something has to be done for her actions, and the unprofessionalism I received. Majority of the assistant managers do not seem to care about anything other than their self. Other than that most of the Department mangers, and Customer service management seems to be great. I gave 2 stars because there is hope the store could be something great as I am always at Wal-Mart, multiple locations and usually never encounter such issues.

working the fastI shop your store regularly , I observed a mistake in the Valentine candy in front of store pointed it out to a store employee working the fast self check she told me as much as I was wrong and the shelf pricing was wrong and that was that. No mention of I will see a manager and correct the mistake box price is different from shelf price .to me that is False Advertising I used to be Employeed at WalMart in Georgetown KY 2010-2012 check my Record if you like coustomer service is #One hope this is helpful I will continue my shopping at Walmart

Place was nice but staff is undertrained to the point where they can't operate registers even with training. Also the staff wasn't very good with knowledge of where items are located I had to point another customer to an aisle that a previous employee said didn't exist.

I have shopped here fir years. But in that time I have seen many changes. Including changes to staff. The employees used to be friendly and helpful. No, you'd be hard pressed to find someone to help you. The aisles are usually cluttered and shelves are empty and the store has taken on a dingy appearance. Don't get me started on the bottle return area. Some days the stench is so bad you want to gag. I've complained in the past. But told they "clean" it. Apparently not correctly because the other Walmart location don't stink like this one. I won't shop here again.

I had placed an order on the Walmart app. I got confirmation of the order to be picked up. When arriving at the store to pick up the order, no one seemed to know where the order was at. Argued with management about where the order was at. Very rude and poor customer service at the Southgate Michigan store. I also called the store and took 30 minutes to get anybody on the phone. Was told that the manager would be in at 5:00am so tried calling to speak with this manager and after an hour of trying to call gave up. How can this store have good customer service by losing products and being so rude...let alone not answering the phone? Not a recommended store to go to.

Both self check outs are open (take cash and credit) as well as Regular Employee Staffed check outs. I was only getting 3 items so I went through the self check. Great having BOTH options for faster service. PS Southgate Walmart is only open til 10p due to Covid.

Very busy store! I had to go out and find my own buggy to bring in as the only car pusher was overwhelmed trying to gather them up. Poor guy really needs some help! Unfortunately for me no one was around to help you or to even ask where something might be. Understandably the door greeter was of no use but did refer me to a CVS nearby which was able to help me find what I needed and to answer questions about its use. With so many paying customers in the store, I am disappointed with the lack of walmart customer service and support. I left buying nothing.

I looked on the receipt for her name so I can make a complaint and on the receipt it only says the manager's name. She also was not wearing a name tag. I did not feel comfortable or welcomed.. i tried to send money through the Walmart to Walmart wiring and the transaction had a "vendor failure", me and the recipient both tried several times to verify the transaction so he could recieve it and it wouldnt work. and when i came back to get a refund they denied it because i only had a digital receipt instead of a physical one, even though i did it through the app and never received one. worst experience ive ever had i took a 1500$ loss which was all of my money at this time.

Ghetto-Mart! I got what I went there for but it was a horrible experience from start to finish and I don't intend to go back unless absolutely necessary. The store was a mess, clothes piled up on the floor and actual garbage that previous guests had left on shelves and empty dairy queen cups on the floor. The workers were unhelpful and (shock!) extremely rude. While shopping with my 2 young daughters, a couple of disgruntled workers walked by complaining about their jobs using some very colorful and 4-lettered language with no care as to the children that were hearing them. I used the U-scan to check out to avoid any further interaction and frustration. Overall, not a good experience. This store is fairly new, conveniently located right around the corner from my house and I would literally drive miles out of my way to avoid having to go here - and I do. Sad. We don't need stores like this bringing our neighborhood down! The few pennies you MAY save just aren't worth it! The possibility of burning up brain cells from the fury you experience is too high! My recommendation is to shop elsewhere and don't support garbage like this!

Bottle return is broken all the time and to do a simple bottle return takes 10 mins at the register(they had no cash in their draw). Store has good deals and good daily prices and they usually always have everything I'm looking for in stock. However, the customer service is horrible! The cashiers are very, very rude and unhelpful and the staff throughout the store that are supposed to be there to help you are either impossible to find one for help or they are unhelpful and unknowledgeable. One time in particular I was looking for a craft item for a project, which I knew they had by looking it up online before I went, but after 15 minutes of looking for it, I was unable to find it in the store so I asked a staff member to maybe point me in the right direction where to find it and I was told "I have no idea what that even is so I don't know where to tell you to look" and she walked away! I proceeded to try and find another staff member for assistance, but couldn't find another one and eventually stumbled upon the item that I was looking for on my own. The bottle room is always dirty, sticky and has a terrible aroma. Half the machines are never working and the button you push for assistance in the bottle room doesn't even work. They could do some major cleaning throughout the store, retrain their rude and unhelpful staff and be more aware of the types of people that hang out around there and they could be a much better store that people might actually want to go to.

The location I go to is the closest to me. Nice clean store, friendly employees. Great clearance prices and good everyday prices. I only gave 4 stars is sometimes the quality of merchandise is lower than what Iam looking for. I have to mention the bakery ladies who go out of their way to get me what I want. One day I went to get bagels. I adore your blueberry, NO one else even comes close. The bin was empty and I asked if they might have more ready in the back. They said no but it would only take them 20 minutes 'ish to bake fresh ones for me. That is excellent customer service. I only regret not getting their names so I could let management know how good his/hers employees are.

Inventory is pretty low, especially on eletronics. Social distancing isn't a huge factor in there, but that's not necessarily their fault tho, but they could enforce it better. And also make wearing a mask a necessity for the safety of employees and customers, at least until this pandemic is over.

Used the coinstar and it took my money and froze at the cash voucher print screen. I had to ask 3 people where to go and what store employee to talk to finally a cashier told me customer service. I go to customer service where she tells me the same thing I kept hearing that's not are machine we know nothing about it. They got 2 supervisors to come over who proceded to tell me very rudely that there was nothing she could do and I'd have to call coinstar. This was before they attempted to do anything. Then she preceded to call me rude because I was aggravated with her rudeness and the employees ignorance in general. Walmart you need to do better. A manager should never talk to a customer the way she did.

My overall experience is pretty good every trip I've made. The Only thing I find lacking is the floor staff. This leads me to either not buy an item or leave to find item elsewhere (if that is the only item I came for). I appreciate that the store is always clean, organized and usually well stocked and the prices of items is what makes it worth my trip. I wish they were a bit closer to me but overall..a GooD shopping experience.

We were looking for a TV that would allow Bluetooth audio and allow sound from the speakers at the same time. We were told basically that it does not exist. We went to best buy and they found both a Sony and Samsung that would do exactly what we needed. The people at this store act like they know what they are talking about when they simply do not know the answer. My recommendation is to go up the street to best buy for your electronics needs.

Now for people that are disabled or have problems lifting and doing things for themselves, it is extremely difficult to do a self checkout, which is what they are all turning into.... I bought a JVC television on December 29, 2019 and it already has a line running through it, I've called the store today (January 28th, 2020) four time, the first time I was put on hold for about 15 minutes the second time they just didn't bother to answer the phone, the third time someone answered and said I'll be with you in a minute and that lasted for another 25 minutes and at 11:00 pm they just don't answer the phone again. I don't like Walmart but this was bought for me and I want a refund or another TV, I don't shop there and this is one of the reasons, very poor customer service. I just want to know if the store is where I bring the TV back to because it was ordered on line. In my opinion worse store ever.

Terrible place to shop! I was told to go to the back of the store to see an associate to have them get me a futon and waited 30 minutes for them! I asked other workers and got no help. I called the customer service and nobody answered for 5 minutes, I walked up to the customer service and saw the phone’s ringing and everyone standing around! Get it together Walmart

Drove around the Southgate store on Dix- Toledo looking for the Automotive center. There isn't one. I needed to purchase some Mobil One 5w-20 Annual oil with their synthetic oil filter. Easily found a parking space and then found everything inside that I needed at very good prices. The parking lot was half full (ok, half empty), but I was surprised to not really see a crowded store. And it was clean today! I used the self checkout and waited for an entire minute! Easy in, easy find, easy out.

I used the Pharmacy for the first time. To do my prescription for my dog it took about 45 minutes. Kassan the pharmacist was fantastic along with Tracy & Katie were exceptional as well. The online grocery pick up has consistently gone down the toilet. They're always out of stock on items with some items being out of stock multiple weeks in a row. One would think now that a higher quality store nearby is doing online pick up, Walmart would work to improve their service. Going forward I am sticking with Kroger and paying their fee as the headache of dealing with Walmart is not worth the free service. Free isn't worth it when you have to go shop elsewhere or scrap your meal plans for the week. Highly recommend avoiding this Walmart.

Went to Wal Mart Southgate on a Tuesday Afternoon at 12:00 pm. Only two registers were open and the self checkouts were closed on the right side. No Associates or Managers stepped up to help with register help. Also, empty shelves and boxes on pallets in the aisles midday. This store needs to get more associates help and step up soon.

For one of the biggest Superstores in America, it surely doesn’t have a lot of things worked out. The store is always messy, like no one wants to reorganize the stock that is in random places all over the store. The website will say an item is in stock and when you get to the store to purchase it, you figure out that it’s not actually in stock. This has happened multiple times to me. Also multiple times the customer service desk won’t even answer the phone. I prefer not to shop here but sometimes you have to bite the bullet when you need something and it’s the only store open late.

Pick up delayed my order for 24 hours, when it was ready I checked in and added my parking info when I arrived, only to have my order cancelled while I was in the parking lot. Delivery is terrible, and not worth it if you live nearby. You'd have to tip the driver more money than it would take on gas to get there. In store is a mess and they are always out of items. A lot of the "fresh" produce has mold on it and still being sold. Purchased chicken from here(pickup/selected by a Walmart employee), the bag looked like it was about to explode and smelled bad.

Service wasn't bad either but my past few experiences with cashiers customer service hasn't been good. It's Christmas time and if you work in retail you know you're going to be working hard. If you don't like working with people or certain people (yeah I went there) then you don't need to be in retail period. I will not spend at Southgate Walmart again.

I have been living in the downriver area for about 5 years now and I now find myself actively avoiding this Walmart. Shelves are never stocked or organized to the point where I would put my stuff back and walk out of the store. The produce selection is to be desired, lacking simple vegatable such as asparagus. And if they were there, they were not stocked onto shelves. The section for tools is an absolute mess, I have seen better organizational skills from a toddler. I give one star as it is not possible to give zero.

Got a few things. Had to fight to get something that was priced 2 dollars cheaper than it rang up. They tried to only allow one of the items at that price, but gave in when I pressed my point. Store is clean except for the stocking items, but that is to be expected at this hour. Most of the staff are friendly and personable. Parking lot is usually lit up, but since the power outage a week ago the half where you have to enter and park is out. Hope they fix them soon. Shopped here before and have had no issues. Different manager this time.

The store had a lot of good deals (clearance) in the Clothing Department. This is quite unusual for any Walmart. Usually clearance is hard to find until well into the next season and the prices are still relatively high. The store seemed to have minimal items available in the Grocery Section but I chalked it up to weather conditions all over the U.S. impeding delivery. Areas of the store were messy but I did see a few employees trying to keep up. I know the shoppers are to blame but maybe more more staff on the floor would make a difference. Also, you could then find someone to answer questions. Finally, there were no cash registers open..not even one. Only 3 self-service. I personally don't mind but there might be customers who would prefer assistance in a check-out area or might be "in need" of that service.

Initially the app is great. When the order is ready it tells you to just tell us you are on your way and the color of your car and no need to call, but no way to to do so? Then when you arrive there is a sign that says for you to call? I find it odd that the don't have a lot of the stuff I asked for! I said to substitute! They had no sub for Marinara sauce or Salad in a bag???? I don't like the fact that I believe the people getting your food are so lazy or ignorant. P.S. I would gladly get it myself, but I'm immunosuppressive.

They have like 10 do it yourself registers but you see I dont work at walmart so im not doing that. So i waited 25 minutes in line with 10 shoppers lined up behind me. After all this fun i went to customer service to ask to speak to a manager about why there was only 1 lane open?. Normally I do not go to the Southgate location. Children said to me as we were going through the aisles find the store is a mess it's really trashy compared to ours. I do think it was a total mess it says a lot when your children say what you are actually thinking. I had grocery delivery starting in January 2021. It was great at first. By July I canceled due to numerous problems. Due to Covid, I signed up again on Jan.1 2022. Placed an order on Jan2 for Jan 3. I haven't received it as of 5:15pm Jan 4. The Customer Service reps lie continuously. They tell you anything they think you want to hear. You can't reach the store. I rated a 3 out of 5 due to some areas in the store are always unorganized and items are all over the place. It's not always the cleanest either. I only shop for minor things when I do shop there like personal items and or haircare products. I like Walmart for it's low prices but this location is always busy.

Went to area marked "PICK UP" and waited almost an hour before someone told me this was "Grocery Only" pick up, my order was on the other side of building because it contained asprin! Young lady that finally took care of situation should get a bonus. I wish I had asked for her name but didn't. You need better clarification as exactly where to pick up online orders. DJ

I used to frequent this place multiple times a week. Boasted about the curbside grocery pickup and online ordering. Great prices can't keep me coming back now. Place has turned in to a dump that can't be ignored. Would rather spend extra money at another store for a nicer atmosphere and less stress shopping

The store is very big and usually organized. The staff is very friendly. You can find anything in there. The prices are competitive. I only wish they had scanners around the store so you could check the prices of different items without having to go to the register.

I drove 40 minutes roundtrip to get a $5 electronic item. It was behind locked glass. There was no automotive section employees to be found, nor hardware section employees. I asked a random employee nearby for help. She wouldn't help me. I waited around for about 10 minutes for the hope of finding another employee but nothing. Meanwhile the lady I asked for help is just sitting there playing in an aisle on her phone. garbage customer service. A waste of gas. I'll have to go to a different location now.

Employees in the grocery department while stocking blocked areas I needed to get my groceries they know I was trying to get to the area they were blocking but went a out there stocking the shelves. If it wasn't for the customers they would not have a job.

The cell phone counter was very helpful. We bought a phone and he set it for use. He also was very helpful on another cell phone that he couldn't help use with but he took the time to give us all the info we needed to take care of the problem. I would definitely recommend going back and doing more business with him. I couldn't tell you about the rest of the staff. But this guy was on point to help us out in every way possible even tho he didn't benefit from our interaction.

This 5 star rating goes out to Tracey that works in pharmacy , after trying to get anyone to answer the phone at this store I finally tried pharmacy and she answered the phone. I just needed someone to check on an item that was in stock in garden center ,so she transferred my call to garden center twice and nobody would answer the phone . Tracey put out a page to garden center and the manager and still nobody answered the call, so Tracey went above and beyond and went over to the garden center to check if the item I wanted was available. I live an hour away and have been trying to find a certain rocking chair for my Mom for mother's day that shows that it's available in certain store's, but after driving and calling unable to find it. Tracey was wonderful in the fact she was kind, considerate and went out of her way to help a customer . This store is so disorganized. Every department i went to just had things thrown on shelves. You literally had to dig to find what you want. I've never seen anything like it. Took me twice as long to find the things I needed. I will try a different Walmart next time. Would not recommend.

Arrived half hour before closing. Only needed a few items. No waiting at U scan registers. Was in and out in 15 mins. surprisingly they were out of eggs and canned corn. They were restocking the shelves though. Great low prices.

Like some other Walmarts visited, this one needs major help! Shelves in some departments are in complete disarray. Looks like after an earthquake. Not sure to what extent clientele are just plain messy or the store personnel are limited in Staffing and challenged to keep the store looking somewhat tidy or they have just given up trying and become accustomed to the way it looks. If it wasn't for the fact that good deals can be found here, would not shop here because it's depressing to see such unkempt displays. Looks more like a bad , picked over rummage sale than a department store.

I was traveling across the country from Wisconsin and drove 575 miles. I got to your location around just after midnight. And planned on getting up and making breakfast and purchasing supplies and continuing my trip... As I'm waking up and making breakfast a police officer showed up and informed me that Walmart does not want me here and that I need to leave now... There is a very expensive RV pull behind trailer and pick up parked right beside me. There are no signs indicating no overnight parking. The manager or employees did not come out and talk to me. Instead they called the police. I haven't even gone in to this Walmart and do not plan on it. I have traveled this country for many years and I've never had this issue. The only time I have I've had a manager come out and explain to me that they don't allow it not call the police. I'm sure the police have better things to do then kick people out and remove customers and weary travelers... Not only is it unprofessional.... It's also highly rude..

Today I went to Southgate Michigan Walmart. I had to use a self check out line due to there being no lines open.... Every self check out terminal had red lights and I was in line for a hour and 45 minutes and there where only 2 people ahead of me in line. I was angry and discusted. I will not return until they hire actual human beings to run cash registers.

I've never been certain why Walmart in particular draws such....the crowd. However - the shoppers, not the product availability or pricing - just make me cringe. No one is aware of what they're doing; just standing around in the middle of spaces like they're on a joy walk. Right now, I'm shopping there because I'm the sole financial provider of my family and the 30 cents saved on many common items adds up and plays nicer with my limited budget. Otherwise, Walmart doesn't get my money.

I had an issue with my online order for the photo center. The employee Jessica working tonight helped me very much. They didn't end up having the order in the system so we uploaded my pictures again. She kept the photo printer open for me so I was able to get my photos tonight:)

I would give it a zero but unable. This Walmart was the absolute worst ever!! Employees to customers of this store were the rudest and tbh none abided by the rules. The store states facemasks are to be worn. I guess only select few have to abide by that rule. I can see it if there's a medical issue but I heard the one employee say she's not wearing it because it interferes with her ears. Uhm ok. Anyway it was horribkenand I will not go back.

This is almost one of the dirtiest Walmart that I have ever seen. I do go here a lot because it is close to my area but I am now changing my area you can never get a shopping cart. The shelves are always empty. The food that is there is not in the greatest shape.
