They never answer the phone, or return a call when you leave a message!!! There isn't even a choice for "Customer Service" on the phone choices, when all you get is an automated answering service!! GRRRRR!!!! Very frustrating when you are calling long distance from out of town!

staff is great here, prices are not always the best, actually they are quite expensive compared to e.g. Canadian tire. 5 stars for the staff, 4 for the selection, price gets one and a half star :-)

Wanted to buy a $1400 smoker. Only had the display model. No discount for the public fondling it. Was told not many people touch them.... asked to order one and was told that I would have to pay shipping to the store so pay even more for an item they sell to everyone else for reg price. Prob easier to buy direct they said. Oh well I guess they dont like money. Kinda thought that's how they stay in buisness tho.....

It's a little pricey but it's a legit hardware box store, which is valuable here. Also the main in-town consumer lumber yard.

I can't help but wonder if the people who left bad reviews for Whitehorse Home Hardware were on acid or something. This place has fantastic customer service and an incredible ability to remain stocked up. The staff in the store and lumber yard are knowledgeable and always willing to share information and advice. They're also very friendly. I'm often looking after our kids and can go here any time I like with those kids and even my dog in tow. I never leave this store with an unanswered question or unfulfilled shopping list. I can't say enough good things about this place and the people there.

I would like to compliment Home Hardware Whitehorse regarding a recent experience where I actually received a return phone call from a salesperson concerning an item I was in search of. I had visited the store on several occasions looking for one style/colour of cabinet hinge that was out of stock. I then phoned the store to see when their order of this item would be in. The salesperson took my name, etc and then actually followed up with a return phone call advising me of a backorder, suggested, then took my order and contact information to phone me when the item arrived. Unfortunately I wish the store would use their limited space to carry more hardware and less household supplies.

Bought 2 outside steel doors one left hand one right request white doors we didn't pick them up right away but paid for them. We picked the up 2 days later of course we weren't able to see them but we were shown a door in side which was white. When we arrived home to unload them we noticed that the colours were not the same they are of different stock. When we phoned to complain they said they weren't painted that we would have to paint them but no comment on the differences. Very misleading sales person this person we talked to actually laughed at us.

We had the pleasure of working with Tracy Oakden in the flooring department. We had decided to do a tiling project and no idea where to start or what to purchase. Tracy was very knowledgeable about the tiles and required tools. We had chosen a tile that needed a wet-saw and she kindly lent us her personal saw. She gave us step by step instructions from using the tile saw to adhesive to grout. We had gone back a few days later and she had taken the time to see how everything was going and answer a few more questions. It was a great experience and I highly recommend anyone going to the flooring department to talk to Tracy.

I have never had such poor customer service by such a rude, condescending, unknowledgeable employee of any business! I had a few questions about toxic ingredients in certain paints as I want to keep my family safe from any chemicals I feel are unsafe to be in my home. I spoke to an Asian guy named Jason (he sports an unkept "foo-man-chu" style of goatee) and he actually laughed in my face, could not answer any of my questions and when he did "attempt" to answer my questions, he was rude and condescending. I was so irritated by my experience, I asked another employee for Jason's last name so I could complain about the proper individual, then I went home and got on my computer to Google him to ensure the information I was given was correct. Well I didn't expect to find what I found. After googling "Jason Witteman, Whitehorse" I was appalled by what I found and I knew with certainty I found the right guy because even his photo was attached to the article I read! WOW!! Home Hardware, you may want to adjust your recruiting processes to a higher level of screening! This guy is not good for any business! You've lost my business for sure by having criminals in your midst! PLEASE AVOID THIS EMPLOYEE!!

Yard staff are frequently unseen. When they are seen they seem to have the motivation of a retired factory worker. Staff inside try to he helpful but often unknowledgeable about different products or store procedure. This location may be able to accommodate the personal handy man for basic projects but is in no way a professional's first choice for product.

I agree with I guess they just do not want our money. First call into inquire re; Pellet Stove, the employee told me they only carried Wood stoves, not true. I was told it would take a week, it took well over that. I have called 3 times trying to pay so that I can have someone pick it up. There was no one to pick up phone yesterday I guess, when calling other departments they transfer me to who I just could not get through to......man frustrating.
