This store has improved with the new Manager (Jose) but still has a long way to go regarding "Customer Service". Their installation service is terrible. Two and a half months to get a garage door ordered and then add an additional 4 weeks for delivery..... this is absolutely awful! This seems to be pretty typical of the installation staff and related service.

I don't usually have a great experience at Rona, but tonights was by far the worst. The only staff that seemed to care I existed was the security guard. He didn't help me find what I was looking for and only glared at me while following me around the store. I don't know what's going on with Rona, but one more experience like tonights and it will be my last. (The cashier was very friendly)

Don't go to the service desk and ask if they carry an item.Answers like probably not without actually looking it up is as helpful as curbside pick up.Hey Rona service desk making it impossible for me to price a job using pressure treated lumber seems counter productive.I went to Home depot and priced it out in minutes.You should rethink who works that service desk.

It started as a joke, but one of my friends coined the phrase “Rona specializes in disappointment” as they were always terrible when we went there for something. Every time I’ve gone back, they’ve never once failed to live up to that reputation. Can never find any staff to help, and if you can, they’re just as clueless as me as a customer where something is. And it wasn’t usually a surprise if they didn’t have what I was looking for, but if they did, it was a surprise how pricey it was compared to other comparable retailers. It’s usually a last resort now to go here, if I just can’t find something specific anywhere else locally to Fonthill or Welland.

You know, I can't complain. It's the closest big home hardware store in the Welland/Pelham area. It doesn't have everything, but it has a decent selection. I bought the simple barn door shown here at a fair price and it was in stock. I've bought basement well covers - and when I got the wrong kind, the return was super easy. Prices could be more competitive.

If I could give no stars I would, we needed blinds cut and waited 10 mins and no one showed up after someone being paged twice so we left, went back next day and had someone paged 4 times and waited almost 25 minutes for someone to help us. This store is understaffed and has no one trained to cut blinds. Poor management, will not go back there even if you paid me to!!

I usually really enjoy going to Rona however last night my spouse and I were picking up lumber from the yard. He spent maybe 2 to 3 minutes strapping it into our truck and was told he was taking to long? Apparently the yard staff feels it's better to drive off with an unsafe load and confirmed that during our brief conversation. We get that it's a pandemic but when the yard is pretty much empty safety should still be a priority.

The aisles in this store, for a building supply store are pathetic. 2 carts can hardly pass eachother. And God forbid there is a product display in the aisle as well. We also got attitude when we asked to have a large item brought down from the shelf. It was a galvanized 5x6 garage door. The associate made a big deal about having to get "harnessed up" to get it down. Best part was it was missing parts. If it wasn't a "save the tax weekend" we would have just left our cart and went to Lowe's in the Falls. What a joke this place is. So many 1 star reviews with all similar complaints. And obviously nothing being done by management or head office. Shut this place down and turn it into a Lowe's!

I've only been to this location once and that was a few minutes ago. Was met by a very nice young man who didn't have an issue asking for help from someone more knowledgable in that specific department which I really admire. He brought us over to another really polite young guy named Scott from the electrical department who was very apologetic about not having what we needed, but didn't hesitate to give further knowledge on the topic and suggest other resources that may work. He didn't leave it at just because they didn't have the product, it was no longer his problem which was really nice.

Between this Rona store, Cox Home Hardware and Canadian Tire, I never have to leave Welland for what I need. From front door to back of the store, the staff is very helpful. One young man (Ethan in Contractor Services) even checked if Canadian Tire next door had what I needed in stock, and even told me what aisle to find it in. Finally, they were awesome during curbside pickup time.

I shop here often to find things to complete my projects. A few months ago I bought a battery operated drill which broke within a week and had no problem return it and buy another brand. Service has been slightly slow time to time,but the staff is their when you need them.

I placed an online order where all the items were listed as 'pick up in 2 hours'. After the order was placed and paid for, then confirmation page had a warning that the order could take 1-2 days due to high volume. At 5 pm the next day I received an e-mail giving me a refund for one of the items, which I assume was because they no longer had the number of that item in stock. Cancelled the entire order and I will take my business where it might be appreciated. Waiting 2 days for an order that was promised in 2 hours only to have it changed without warning is unacceptable. Now I have to wait 7 days for my refund, so my vacation project will not get done this year.

As a contractor I am repeatedly disappointed with the Welland location. They constantly waste customers time and the only good department is the contractors desk. The lumber yard associates never flatten any piles and wood is often twisted.

At the begging I wasn't so happy but at the end is all good. I bought a linen cabinet for my new bathroom but was broke, so I returned. I was waiting for my new linen cabinet, I have to say that I had a lot the help from the staff and manage. We had a few phone calls and my new linen cabinet came in excellent condition. First they send a defective fridge with a company that had No problem removing the back door to allow the fridge to get it in safely. But the fridge had to be returned. It was damaged . The 2nd fridge they replaced for us the workers didn't want to deliver and refused to remove my door to bring it inside unless I signed a waiver so they were not responsible for damages. He said don't worry we do this all the time. They damaged my door frame,door fell on cement porch where they put it and my lock and chain was pryed off the floor frame in the process. The new fridge sounds like a truck.. when I reported this and you guessed. I signed a waiver.so they won't take responsibility. VERY BAD BUSINESS. Certainly a multi million $ company like rona could hire better a applicance delivery company. I'm sure I'm not the only one who needed my door removed gor delivery.now I'm left with the damage expense.go figure. I'll never buy from them again and unfortunately Lowes is affiliated

This morning my husband called about our order. Rona had canceled one item because they didn’t have it. The guy he talked to had excellent customer service and was so friendly. It was really a treat. And then when we did curbside pickup and called, another guy who answered the phone was ultra friendly as well. Friendliness is not overrated. Both of these incidents, though seemingly small, had a big impact on both of us. It made our day.

This Rona has a decent selection of home building tools and supplies and I regularly visit here for my home maintenance needs. Prices are reasonable and sales are frequent and appreciated. The knowledge that the associates working in the store have is adequate, though they often don't know much about products outside their assigned departments, it's best to have at least a working knowledge of what you need before you arrive.

It would be great if they delivered items at reasonable prices. They charge $75/delivery. Terrible cost. It might be nice if they just charged a percentage of the purchase. I was looking for a special toilet at $140, but delivery is $75 for 3 klm. Guess I continue to shop elsewhere other than Rona. Still too overpriced. BTW, Rona was born out of Welland Lumber, Welland. Their service sucked as well and their customer service was exactly the same - horrible...BECAUSE IT WAS WELLAND LUMBER!!. Some things never change!

I have never seen such terrible service at a rona,and if you are in a hurry do not go to the welland location,and if you have to do a return please set aside some time,l have seen line ups with 5 people deep,and the usual is only one cashier open,l dread going to this store but when you need lumber choices are limited in welland for that.My hope is that lowes revamps this store and changes happen,You can instantly tell the difference walking into a lowes,or home depot,its called customer service,Honestly surprised the doors stay open,,,

Never any stock always out of commonly used construction materials. Always a line up always only 1 cashier, who takes returns while 10 people are in line. There should always be some one on returns and 1 cashier no matter what and the returns can cash you out but only one 5o do returns. Have been here multiple times and become more and more disatisfied with each visit. There are never enough people attending the registers and the ones that are have either not been trained or are strained by a terrible system. Either way checkout is usually a 15 minute ordeal. As well the selection is terrible, a little bit of everything but not enough to complete any project. A great example, they carry pvc unions in 1/2" , 1&1/4" as well as 1&1/2" but for some reason not in 3/4" or 1" which they carry many other fittings. Will not be visiting here anymore.

Zero stars. Ordered 15 IN STOCK cedars online on a Friday. Order is supposed to be ready in 48hrs or less. After waiting FOUR DAYS Rona CANCELLED my order as my items are now 'not in stock'. Yeah I guess that's what happens when you don't pull my items in four days! Now I have to wait even longer for a refund on my credit card. Never ordering anything from Rona ever again.

I got wood here to build a fort in my backyard as my mother was preparing for another baby. I went into Rona and asked a member what Wood would be good to build a fort. He pointed to a nice brown wood (can’t remember the name) and I used that wood to build my fort. The fort is complete and the my sister loved it! But we had to move and leave behind the fort. Still love this place though!

Very poor customer service for pick-ups during the lockdown. They cancelled one of my items 30mins before it was ready for pickup and weren't willing to work out a replacement so I had to wait another 48hrs just to get some screws. Lumber had terrible damage to it and $30 of it was unusable. There was 2 other cars in the parking lot and I was still waiting for 30mins.

Horrible customer service from the manager, not employees. The manager does not even come talk to you face to face. She sits in an office and sends her assistant back and forth. Last time shopping here! If home hardware does not have it, I will drive to NF to the home depot. Something was on for 1/2 price, gazebo. Guy at the order desk asked when I would pic it up, I said not for a few days. He checked with management and said OK. Drive home to get my credit card as I had not planed on buying much. Get back and am told I cant buy it. They will not hold it for a few days even though I am paying for it and have made an extra trip.

Never will I shop here again! I have had so many issues with this place. My last issue was last year I purchased 3 cans of tinted driveway selaer from there %90 off sale. They said it was a final sale. The sealer ruined my driveway after I took every proper step to do things properly. After calling techniseal and explaining they asked me for numbers off the cans. Turns out the cans were from 2012. Shelf life is max 18 months. After calling Rona they said to me "sorry it was a final sale". I spend $1000s and I mean $1000s of dollars at this location every year. They sold me 6 year old expired driveway selaer and tell me theres nothing they can do. I spent $7000 on a brand new concrete driveway 2 years ago only to have it ruined by Rona.

Their customer service before the pandemic was horrible. No one smiles or is friendly. Tried to do a curbside order. They took my money but two days later my order still wasn't processed. When I called in to find out why its taking so long, I was told they have no clue when they will get to it. I cancelled my order and went to a trusted place instead, Canadian Tire. Where curbside is done in a few hrs not days. And where their staff is always smiling and willing to help, in person or on the phone. As a retail manager of a big box store myself, all I will say is they need new management. Someone who knows how to run a store and keep the staff happy. Will never shop there again. Horrible horrible store and staff!

Rona has, over time, become the worst place to try to buy anything - in person AND online. Their customer service has been surpassed by every large chain and does not match local businesses. Everytime we go to Rona, we find it impossible to find any assistance. And when we do, we are met with attitude and low energy and enthusiasm. At one point we were told to just go find it ourselves. Nobody was able to help us purchase an advertised fireplace. It's like they couldn't be bothered to look at the information we were showing them from their website. So without any assistance, we had to order the fireplace place while we were in the store because no one would help us. We paid for it and we were to pick it up. Turns out the next day, after we ordered and paid for our fireplace, I receive an email stating they could not fulfill our order. This is what we were trying to avoid but no one helped us. So we had to waste 2 hours of our time going to Grimsby to pick up and re-purchase the same fireplace without any compensation. Called customer service to make a complaint and got yelled at by the call centre manager. Very very unprofessional. Looks like the extra 10 minute drive to LOWES for future purchases is going to well worth it. EDIT: Scratch that - I just found out Lowes and Rona are the same company. Home Hardware it is. All my complaints fell on deaf ears, which why I'm posting it hear.

This place is a disorganized mess with poor selection and high prices. Had to wait in 3 separate lines for one piece of lumber. Most of the staff are part time students who don't give a rats @ss. I also waited over a week for them to process an online order for curbside pickup which I had to cancel since it took too long and the store ended up being reopened.

I went into Rona around 3:35ish to pick up an online order today that said it was ready, I got to the store and forgot my order number and left my phone at home by accident. I went to the return and pick up counter where Emilie was and explained to her about my order and situation and asked to look to my name which I did have my id on me and she didn't take it, she told me "I'll try" in the most rudest tone. While she was struggling to even find my order she complained how it wasn't done right and the manager came and then they both just started to gossip infront of me while I was standing there not knowing if I was going to get my order or not. The other cashier on the first cash register was rolling her eyes when customers left after purchasing things which was so wrong. It was the most unprofessional transaction that I have ever recieved there. It seemed to have been ran by teenagers today which still doesn't give the right to not care about your job.

The Uberhaus patio set from Rona is a piece of garbage that I spent a lot of money on. First it had a metal piece that was broken, very sharp and rusted. It took me a week to exchange the piece which was only done because my boyfriend brought it in and wouldn't leave until it was exchanged. Then after he fought with it to put it together, found that we had two of the same ends. The table which can go between a coffee table and dining table is a two - three person job to switch between the two settings. I feel like I got completely ripped off. I should have just opted for the cheap set from Walmart which is probably better quality than what Rona sold me for $1500. Never trusting Rona for a quality product again.

I bought a set of exterior light fixtures from this Primeway Drive location in Welland, Ontario today. One of the globes had a broken glass component and another of them was missing a piece of hardware that was affixed to the other two already in the package, missing entirely from the assembly. This was 2 out of 3 fixtures defective. I tried contacting the company to find out if I could return them to any store, since the Welland location only had these 3 fixtures in stock, and could not reach either the local store by phone or the head office, ON A SATURDAY. What kind of company closes its customer service offices on a saturday, in retail, in THIS COUNTRY? Calling the store directly gave me a menu that only allowed access to a voicemail box, at 3PM on a saturday. I've had enough with this store, not the first time I've had to return defective products.

We went in to get a BBQ we had previously ordered online. We thought the model was on floor, but after the employees checked the sku, it was wrong. The correct model was at the top of at tall shelf. They double checked the sku, called the gentleman working the crane who got it down for us. They then got it on our flat bed trolley and we were on our way. An overall great experience in the store!

I’ve never had a problem with any stores or employees, but every time I shop at this specific Rona it’s always more trouble than it’s worth. Employees are either impossible to find for assistance or when you do find one they ‘go to find another employee’ in the specified section and then leave and avoid you the rest of the trip. I’ve gone to this store more than once for multiple products that are ‘multiple in stock’ on their website and have called to make sure they still have the product only to show up and have employees brush me off that they don’t even carry those products. Overall the attitude that I get from employees when I need assistance and the hardship to even get a product make this store not worth going to.

Have spent tons of money here renovating my house. To have them sell me not one but two shotty cans of permapaint and when I asked to have it put in the paint mixer too see if it will fix the settled paint they tell me the cans also have broken seals unfit for the machine. After I told them all the cans had the same amount of rusting on the top. Returned one but got one a day before lost the bill. Got a basement and a upstairs to renovate sure as hell wont be back that way.

Place is a joke. You can never find anyone to help you, lineups at the registers are always 50 ft long (even before covid) Had an online order. Called 10 times yes 10......and finally I flag an employee down to ask what to. So he speaks to a manager who tells him we have to keep calling or else they can't help us. We finally get through on the 10th attempt and a cashier says and I quote ". Were pretty busy right now. Your going to have to go on hold. Get it together. If your going to offer curbside pickup you might want someone to manage it.

It's an ok store. Sometimes they are appropriately staffed and sometimes you have to wait a while so you can order wood. The prices range high for comparable products found in nearby stores. They have very nice and knowledgable employees. I do dislike buying wood that is stored outside because I'm picky. Overall, I don't avoid shopping here.

I will say the cashier and the employee in the lumber were great and helpful. However, the employee at customer service was not as much. I asked if I could put something on hold for 2 and a half days and in a rude tone they said it was too far. I just spent over $1000 that day and you couldn't do that small thing for a loyal customer? What I wanted to buy was another $800+ product. I disagree with that and will buy this product elsewhere. I still give 3 stars simply because of the other employees who made up for the lack of customer service given.

I went to the Rona, Welland location earlier in the week to pick up three items. An interior door for an archway in my home, some PL Premium adhesive, and paint. When I arrived to the store, the staff was useless. Talked to cashiers, two employees and even the manager without any help at all. Stood in the doors isle while page after page was made and employees kept pushing the responsibility to someone else. After a 50 minute ordeal with the door, I went to the paint department. I am happy to say that the employee in the pant department, Chris, was very knowledgeable and professional - even charming. I recommend only the paint department to anyone.

Actually, my experience was at the RONA building supply on Niagara St., not Primeway Dr., but the Niagara St. store doesn't seem to have its own website, so I'm posting here. Went there to buy a 5 foot length of 1 x 12, which they sold me at a rather inflated price of $2.50 a ft. It wasn't until I got home, and tried to use the lumber on my project that I discovered that their "1 x 12" was only 11" wide!! I'd already painted the piece by then so couldn't return it, but I certainly WON'T buy lumber there again!!

I’m surprised this place is still open. Do yourself a favour and drive the 30 minutes to Niagara Falls or St. Catharines Home Depot or Lowe’s. Especially if you are shopping for lumber.

How does such a Big Retail Store show up at someone's house to deliver a REFRIGERATOR "to-the-Front-Door" with a Forklift but no Dolly. First of all, delivery was scheduled on the wrong day (on the date of purchase), so it had to be rescheduled several days later -- after the elderly couple was told to contact a different (St. Catharine's) store, when the Fridge was sitting in the Welland store. The Fridge was finally delivered 4 days later but was then left in the middle of the driveway of the elderly couple in the middle of winter. In the meantime, food was spoiling in the old refrigerator. When I tried to remotely advocate on their behalf, Rona blamed one of their delivery servcies (ToolBx) -- but this turned out to be false; the delivery truck had RONA written all over it, and ToolBx does not deliver appliances. After a several more phone calls and much frustration, the Rona's Sales Associate offered to correct the problem, going out of the way at 8:45pm that night. Many thanks for that. But there just seems to be no good excuse for such a frustrating experience for a simple in-stock delivery from a reputable Big Store.

Purchased a Gazebo for the absolutely best price I've ever seen. Staff were friendly, and professional through the financing process. With the savings I chose to get it delivered and setup. The people that came were a lovely husband wife team. They did a great job and were great to chat with. I seen the same gazebo for a $1000 more at Canadian Tire!

Went here today to see a shower unit that was on sale to find out it is on the very top rack near the ceiling! How is someone suppose to see something they want to buy way up there? We asked an associate if we could climb the ladder to see the shower or have someone bring it down and he had to go ask his boss who responded with a No to both requests! Ridiculous! Will never be shopping there again.
