Historically this has always been my go to spot for all my lumber and hardware needs. I've built countless decks, fences, and other custom furniture projects from Geerlinks. In most cases the customer service is great but I did have a really terrible customer service experience. A gentleman who identified himself as the store manager used his personal Facebook account to post confidential customer info and call me a blatant liar for sharing my experience. This was enough to make me turn my back on the store. Since then, the GM of the store has reached out to understand what occurred and how they could make it better/make sure that's not an experience that myself or other customers have going forward. He was very genuine and he took the time to listen and understand our concerns. I will say that it's very unfortunate that the other managers we dealt with were not as interested in listening but in the end they did get it right. Hopefully they can learn from this whole experience as well and provide better training to managers to deal with customer service issues when they are small before they escalate.

If you want a poor painting experience from start to finish, this is the place to go. Less than friendly service was provided by the young lady at the paint station, only to get half way through painting a room to find that the second half of the paint jug is filled with white chunks. Highly recommended team in St. Thomas Ontario! We worked with Kim and Haylee on a recent kitchen reno. What a great team! The design process was iterative and they worked really well together to recognize our vision and deliver a perfect product. The interactions were timely, professional and responsive. As with any renovation some things did not go perfectly but Halylee and Kim both worked very hard to make things right! They both made excellent recommendations and were wonderful when we needed to adjust things during the process. The final outcome is exactly what we'd hoped for!

KORZITE CONCRETE SEALER Purchased 2019 Garbage concrete sealer. Do not buy. Purchased from Homehardware St Thomas. Both the manufacture and Home hardware Corporate has been little to no help in resolving the issue. Waited 28 days not the 30 recommended to seal a brand new colored concrete driveway. And because I didn't use their cleaner they are basically saying I didn't use this product it was my fault. This was applied June 2019, and looked great until I use a 10 pound bag of driveway salt the following February 2020 And it completely ruined the looks of the driveway as it burned through this sealer. But of course its everything the consumer did. A $9,000 beautiful colored concrete driveway to be ruined with 10 dollars worth of salt and 2, 5 gallon pails And yes it's warranted for salt. I was given an email contact with Home Hardware Corporate, whom I contacted. Sent the below pictures and they had a Korzite representative to investigate what went wrong. Korzite has been using my driveway as a test lab (pic's below) trying different things and some I was expected to do it myself and report back with pictures....bla..bla..bla... Everything but mechanically remove this garbage off. Between Home hardware and Korzite I've was left with a mess and no where to turn to. After multiple visits by the rep and 18 months of frustration I had enough. The rep said these things take time...should have said it takes time to wear you down with no resolution...and was never going to be. I hired a company to mechanically (Sandblast) remove the remains of the sealer. Something that should have been done by either Home Hardware or Korzite the manufacturer of this sealer. This was a $2000.00 repair job that I had to eat. The contact at Home Hardware Corporate was MIA after numerous email attempts. Never responded in kind. Still till this day.... Spoke to the same person in the paint department today November 9th 2021 and showed him the pictures and the one sided communications to Home hardware corp...and no reply...ask if the manager of the store could help with a follow up with this corporate contact...then he said we're an independent Home Hardware and I'd be better off contacting Corporate complaints myself. You've been warned

Been a customer for 20+ years. Still the best place to go in town. One issue: allowing dogs in your store is great, but they need to be on a leash at all times. There are people who are terrified of dogs.

Deplorable service, no one in store appears to know the most basic of questions & ever so thankful that BC's stores don't follow St. Thomas's mode of operation. They are more expensive than any other hardware in st Thomas, on most things. Sometimes by a bit and sometimes a lot. Wednesday is supposed to be Senior 10% discount day but often told "that's not on discount.

When you hear that construction businesses drive for 45 minutes to get their supplies from Geerlinks it might seem like an exaggeration. All you need to do is check out their flagship store in St. Thomas to understand that it's not. Spectacular service by their customer service desk and extremely knowledgable staff help to create a proper one-stop for all your needs. Other stores try to be them in London... including other home hardware stores but this one truly delivers. When the staff even remembers your name or the project you've been working on it truly makes you feel like you have the support you need. If this translates to their contractor relationships it's only natural that people will drive for almost an hour to shop here. Absolutely top shelf location. Great job guys.

This store already had a crowded entrance area, and then the new covid rules said that the entrance must be forced to one direction. So the manager put up a row of displays to stop people from entering that area after going past a cashier. HOWEVER, he also put a lot of unnecessary displays, to entice buying, on the other side of the entrance area, making it very hard to get past all of the people who are milling around that area. And then, he had 2 employees milling around there as well, blocking people from being able to get into the store without coming within 6 feet of them. When I came in, 3 customers were all going in different directions, so I only had one possible direction to go in, but one of those 2 employees suddenly walked directly at me, forcing me to jump quickly ahead, and squeeze VERY tightly between 2 of the unnecessary displays. Then he reacted to my sudden lunge by saying "oh!" I stood in that area for a moment, waiting for all of the people to get further away, so that I could go into the store more. But the employee who had forced me into that spot came CLOSER to me (less than 6 feet) and said "ummm, Sir... may I help you?" Yes, you can help by giving room to enter, and staying 6 feet away! The reply below tries to make the excuse that what happened was the result of covid rules, but that's just an excuse. Covid rules DO NOT STATE that displays must leave NO ROOM for customers to avoid each other, and they DO NOT STATE that employees have to force customers to hide between displays to avoid getting within 6 feet of the employee. You should edit your reply and admit you did something wrong, and change things! If you actually cared about the rules, you would tell your employees NOT to come closer than 6 feet, especially when someone is clearly trying very hard to get away from them!

Never really been a Home Hardware gyal but since moving into the area this has been my go to hardware store. The staff are always pleasant and ready to help. Have been here on numerous occasions for paint, sideboards, cleaning supplies, large cuts of vinyl flooring, you name it - each and every visit has been a swell one. Although they do have a smaller selection of things like power tools, than say, a Home Depot would- they make up for it with educated staff who are approachable, kind, and happy to find an alternative for you. They also have a cool added section to the side of the store completely dedicated to furniture/decor which is a lovely touch as well!

The best hardware store I’ve ever been in (including any other Home Hardware location). This store is huge and the staff is on another level. Specifically the main desk staff. There’s one guy in particular (I think it was Darren or Darryl or something with a D), who is super helpful and knows everything about everything! With just one staff member I was helped (with expert advice) on eavestrough, flooring, plumbing and cement. Highly impressed and very grateful to have this store in my backyard!

A larger and better home hardware than I would've thought St. Thomas would warrant. Well lit, well stocked, spacious, and well staffed. A business practice a really notice and appreciate is how many staff they run with - no skeleton crew bare minimum, they have staff at all stations and multiple cashiers, plus more staff out and about. Easily twice the staff of any comparable sized store.

INCREDIBLE FAST EFFICIENT AND SAFE service during the difficult times. They have more than earned my business over home depot. I would rather drive 25 mins to Geerlinks than 5 mins to the home depot near me. Every order I have placed is quickly responded to and ready ASAP! You call to place an order, then they don't answer and it automatically hangs up on you. Nice. Saturday, May 15 - Okay, so I gave a bad rating on Thursday because the phone disconnected me twice, but after an apology I realized it is not entirely HH's fault. I emailed my wood order and it was ready after an hour for pickup, which I did this morning. Also was surprised to find the price was the same as last year! I have edited my rating.

A few years ago we priced out a kitchen quartz countertop and found that Geerlinks's price was much higher than 2 other quotes we received. We went somewhere else to get our countertop installed and were very happy with the result. A few months ago we started shopping for a kitchen backsplash and got a quote from Geerlinks again because we would prefer to purchase in St-Thomas. Once again, the Geerlinks quote was higher, this time by $200+. The company we chose is a very reputable one located in London and not only did the price come in lower but they did not charge us $50 to get our kitchen measured (this was to be reimbursed if we went with Geerlinks), their install date is 6 months sooner than Geerlinks suggested it would be and the process of getting the quote went super quickly and smoothly. It is kind of insulting to charge us $50 to measure our kitchen when we live in St-Thomas and yet a company from London does it for free. Geerlings would not even give us the dimensions nor break down the quote. We like to support St-Thomas businesses and will continue to do so but we will avoid any large purchases from Geerlinks in St-Thomas.

Very rude salespeople in the furniture department. I went in to buy two recliners and was going to buy a rug, spending a large amount of money. The sales lady comes back and tells me they only ordered brown in the chairs I like and not the grey. The brown are on sale but since she has to order the grey (as she has for several customers she says) it will be full price and she won't do it on sale. I drove from out of town and the way she addressed the issue was appalling, won't be back and left my entire purchase. I'll shop elsewhere.

I like shopping here but sometimes i can't find help. Like today i need 5 feet of electrical wire cut but can't find any help. Took it to customer service and they won't cut it for me. They try to find the person who work in that area and no response. I couldn't wait any longer so i went to check out and pay for my items. I bought two locks at HH. I phoned them to ask if they would key both locks to one key. They told me yes, just bring it in. When I took it in I talked to the people at the desk, the person who does this work was there. They told me he would not do the work because he was going for lunch. It seems self evident that customers are way down the list of priorities in this store. We used to be customers, now we are just an inconvenience.

But today my experience at the checkout was unpleasant as the lady cashier offered unsolicited comments and referenced her own life. My husband Randy Kellogg and I were distraught after purchasing a beautiful laminate floor only to notice after laying some of it that it had a defect. Home hardware righted this wrong and were very accommodating. We then were shipped more boxes to finish our job only to encounter the same problem. Again they went above and beyond to help us. We give them 5 stars because they righted the wrong immediately and were genuinely disturbed that we had to go they so much trouble. Bravo to the staff especially Steve in flooring. Thank you.

We used the curb-side pickup yesterday and I was so impressed, I had to leave a review. The lanes were organized well and the service was above and beyond. Wait time was minimal as well. My Mother has been going to Home Hardware for years just the other day found out that they offer there seniors discount starting at 60 not a single cashier or customer support staff member even offered or informed her of that fact until a few days ago !!! not to mention the service is terrible at the best of times until you get one of the more experience employees then you can get some actual service but it does take a while because they generally have to clean up the mess from the younger employees !!! Poor training combine with even poorer leadership leads to this !! not pleased at all !!

This is the largest and by far best home hardware store I have ever seen, and the building materials side is twice that of the store. It makes the Rona in town look like a broom closet. The staff is friendly, helpful and knows their product. It's great to see a business being ran this well compared to some of the other big box experiences I've had. Always a pleasure coming here!

The last 3 years I've been coming here since I moved back to St. Thomas, and the staff in each department have more than enough know how to help with all of my needs. Good store. The home builder kitchen and bath caulking isnt worth buying. I bought 2 tubes from there and half comes out the tip and the rest comes out past the plug that holds the silicone in the tube. And yes, we bought the gun there too.

I like this store (my preferred hardware/lumber store) but I do get tired of stores (not just Home Hardware) these days not having stock and no ETA when they will get it. Even online orders take an incredible amount of time to come in. They say 2 to 10 days... Expect 10 to 15. Sometimes it just never comes in. Hopefully things get back to normal soon.

Initially I had good service when I bought a leather chair. However the arm of the chair broke after about 4 months. So I immediately notified the store it took me a few phone calls and promises of being called back and never hearing back. They did tell me they would order a new chair. They gave me a date that it would come in 3 times and chair didn't come in.( it is covid times so I understand some delays).However it took over 3 months to get the chair and I had to call monthly just to know what was going on as no word from them. The last time I called they again promised to return my call and they didn't, so I called back and someone informed me yes your chair is here. Oh no phone call to notify me of this ?? . Then I had to find someone to hall the damaged chair back and while picking up the new one the guy in shipping said " oh this chair has been here for awhile" . Again no one made any attempt to tell me this. So if I hadn't been calling all the time probably wouldn't have a chair now. So they're follow up customer service after you purchase is poor.
