I found Pioneer Pest after we moved into a new home and decided that it was time for a new exterminator to match. I have a few, very specific, reasons why PP exceeds my expectations. I work from home and from my car while on sales calls. This keeps me in and out and my schedule a bit tight. Steve and his team from PP are extremely flexible and have always accommodated my scheduling changes. The next specific reason is my daughter Maggie. Maggie is extremely allergic to many common and some exotic antigens. My wife and I are always on high alert to anything that could give her a reaction. When I conveyed my concerns to Steve he was very sympathetic and had already done the leg work to assuage my worries. Ultimately, PP is a great local company with white glove service. Prices are reasonable and in my opinion below industry average. Moreover, everyone can relate to the feeling of having a stranger explore your house, it's usually not a pleasant experience. Steve goes about his work without causing a ripple in your day and has a keen sense to know when not to interrupt a customer while on a phone call or in my case, a sales call. I think the real test of an in-home service provider is to ask yourself if you would recommend them to your mother, or simulacrum. We love Pioneer Pest! We had a lot of beetle looking bugs in our basement when we first bought our house, but since we started using Pioneer for sprays every 3 months, we rarely ever see any bugs. A dead spider here and there that made its way in at most. The service techs are all super friendly as well and are really careful to get in all the nooks and crannies. Carston usually comes to our house and it’s nice to see a familiar face each time, which probably wouldn’t happen with a huge company like Rotler. They are also really responsive and we often make appointments over email, which is nice because I never really feel like calling companies to make appointments. Thankful we found a local company we can trust for our pest management needs!

I've used Pioneer Pest twice now and they exceeded my expectations on both occasions. I had an issue with a pesky squirrel getting into the space between our attic and our exterior roof. Pioneer Pest set up traps and checked them daily until the squirrel was caught. They then went ahead and secured the area from further entry...we've had no problems since. I also used Pioneer Pest for termite treatment. They had the job complete extremely quickly at a good price. Overall I am very impressed with this company and will not hesitate to use them again should I need to.

I called Pioneer Pest on the morning of Friday, July 18 upon the unpleasant discovery of a raccoon in my trash can. Completely startled and still shaking, I immediately called Tom Bickel at Pioneer Pest. Tom returned my call within two minutes and was at my house 15 minutes later. He was able to apprehend the little rascal and had him in a cage soon thereafter. Tom later video recorded the humane release of this furry little guy back into the wild and sent it to us via email. I can't thank Tom enough for responding so quickly and for eliminating our little problem. Now, let's hope this raccoon doesn't have a brother. But I know who to call if he does :)

I recently moved into a rental home and discovered that the backyard was infested with mayflies. I called Pioneer Pest Management after seeing a sign in a neighbor's yard and decided to give them a call. I talked to Tom, told him about the problem and without hesitation he said he'd take care of it right away. Little did I know right away meant literally that same afternoon! I came home from work that day and the mayflies were gone. I don't usually take the time to write reviews, but that kind of professional service and quick response deserves to be recognized. These guys totally blew me away. I will definitely call Pioneer the next time I have another insect problem. Can't recommend them enough.

We officially LOVE Pioneer Pest. We called with a problem of ground bees in our backyard in the area where our kids play. Tom from Pioneer Pest came out within the hour. Then, come to find out, he told us they were yellow jackets and fixed the problem instantly. After he left, we found another nest of them in our light post in the front yard. Tom came right back to our house and treated the area. This company could not be more friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. The prompt service is very impressive! We feel lucky to have Pioneer Pest in our town and will use them EVERY time!

I called Pioneer Pest Management out to my place of employment for a problem with brown recluse spiders. The initial call was handled very friendly and professionally by Ashley, she took my info and got us scheduled right away. When the tech came out he was fantastic. He quickly identified and confirmed numerous recluse spiders, very thoroughly sprayed the entire building, showed us what we had, placed glue strips at baseboards, and vapor strips in drop ceiling. When finished he offered follow-up treatments quarterly, without pushing to up-sell or come too often. He said he would rather we called back if we noticed more sooner, rather than over-charging by coming out too frequently. I would highly recommend Pioneer Pest Management to anyone needing their services!! Great locally owned company ... you cannot go wrong with them!!!!

Outstanding customer service and pest management. I was very sceptical about the mosquito control but it REALLY WORKS. This is our 3rd summer we will have the mosquito control spray and it is worth every penny. We have a pool and several areas where standing water can accumulate… once we get sprayed there are virtually no mosquitos and we spend a lot of time outside in the summer. A+ in every aspect.

We have had the worst ants ever this year. They even made it to the second floor. We have tried everything. I called Tom desperate for help and he came out that night. We have not seen an ant. I contacted Pioneer Pest Control to remove a dead animal from my roof. After a few days of rain it looked like it may be in advanced decomposition. ???? I left a message after hours and was contacted promptly the following morning. I spoke to Ashley who told me they would stop by that day to assess the situation. A few hours later two employees showed up. They were neat in appearance and professional in their approach. I showed them to the backyard and when they saw it they were curious and not alarmed or grossed out like me. One guy got the ladder and started climbing. When he got up he found an animal- a very dirty and wet stuffed teddy bear. ???? He asked where he could dispose of it and they left. I was more than satisfied with their services and am looking forward to using them to spray for mosquitos this summer. ☀️

Well, this isn’t Shane, it’s his mom, Maureen :) We have a really deep Kirkwood yard and a neighbor that grows a pasture of grass before it is cut, so mosquitoes are an annual bummer. Ashley at Pioneer got me set up quickly-they were here in just a few days-she was awesom! It has been several days now and it is paradise with no uninvited guests! The staff on site was very friendly and the price was very reasonable. We used another company a few years ago and they could never get a handle on things for twice the price. I can't say enough good things about Pioneer!! We have used them for two homes now, in Kirkwood and just recently in Clayton, and wouldn't want to use anyone else. They have helped with moles, voles, insects, mice, and chipmunks (I know I have come to know them well). Everyone I have interacted with has gone above and beyond. Exactly what I hoped for in a small local company. Ashley in the office has always been very responsive and helped out getting people to my home on short notice if needed. As landlords, we've used Pioneer several times in the past. Last month we found yellowjackets, and out of habit called Pioneer again. They told us they were busy, didn't have anyone in our neighborhood. We have to wait a WEEK! Foolishly I supposed all pest control companies must be busy, and took the appointment On the scheduled day they failed to show up, so I called. At first they denied I had an appointment, then said they'd check with other staff, then the other staff made up a story, then it was just excuses... They made no attempt to fix the problem, just excuses. Their competitor showed up within 24 hrs. Today Pioneer called and asked if we still wanted to schedule the appointment. Excuse me???? We had stinging insects in the bedroom LAST month.

We discovered that some mice had decided to share our kitchen with us. In the old days, I would have bought some spring traps and some peanut butter and had a mess on my hands. With 2 dogs and 3 kids, we decided to call Pioneer Pest Management to help us solve our problem. Tom Bickel recommended placing several pet proof traps outside along the perimeter of the house. Within a couple of days, the mouse problem was gone and I didn't have to clean up any dead mice! Tom is professional, courteous and I highly recommend Pioneer Pest Management.

While Tom was here it started raining lightly so he felt like treating the outside of our home was not a wise decision. He told me he would come back to finish another time. After receiving a frantic call from my wife regarding a chipmunk in our house. I called Pioneer after 5pm hoping that I wouldn't get a recording. The office manager was very helpful and re-assuring. After taking my information, she told me that someone would contact me soon. Within minutes I received a call from Tom, one of the owners. He came right out loaded with Live Traps. Not only was he an expert at setting and strategically placing the traps, he was able to calm down my wife and two small children. Within an hour the chipmunk was caught and released into a nearby park. Pioneer is now my go-to company for not only rodent removal, but pest control as well.
