I went here for a class to make a bamboo tree plant. The class was not very organized in regards to the timing. The instructor was almost a half hour late and as for the timing the instructer started with the 5 hour version class instead of the 2 hour version class. Needless to say it ran way over what it was suppose to be and I couldnt finish the class because I had to go to work. It was great information very detailed and in any other case I would be happy to attend that class! However I had planned for the 2 hour class the brochure advertised for, so in the end with the confusion in timing I got a lot of information and no actual planting. Since I ran out of time the instructor offered to throw together a plant for me before I left, which I politely declined because the point in going to fhe class was to make one myself. Saanach GardenWorks were very apologetic about the confusion which I appreciate and they issued a prompt refund since we did not actually get to do anything. So 3 stars for great customer service. Minus 2 stars for organization of classes and having poor comunication with the instructor for the class they offered.

This is a huge garden center offering pretty much anything you could need for your garden. I bought a tree here recently and the woman who helped me was very knowledgeable about the process of transplanting it into my yard and gave me a lot of good advice on how to manage it's transition from the pot to the ground. I've been to a number of garden centers around Victoria, but this one is going to be my first stop going forward.

There are many varieties of plants but items available range from pots, planting mixes, tools, outdoor furniture and decor, bird houses, feeders and food, reading glasses and books....and much more. Usually well-stocked garden supplier of vegetable starts and annual and perennial greens. Offering a variety of bulk landscaping media, hardscape materials, concrete statues, fountains, benches, stepping stones, fertilizers, soil ammenders, hedging, trees... The list goes on. Seasonal stock can become depleted so go early in seasons. Gift oriented merchandise inside including a clothing line for women, bird houses, humming bird feeders, chimes, signage, indoor plants (succulents, cacti, ivy, peace lilies, ferns, palms-high to low light specimens), pots, household trinkets... The staff are usually well informed (but occasionally, during summer season you run into a fresh faced newb who doesn't have any depth of knowledge), and are happy to give you hints and tips. This establishment is a little over priced but sales happen and there is a rewards program. Blenkinsop Gardenworks is probably the best garden store in the greater Victoria region. It's Nov and the wreaths and bulk decorating greens are out along with a selection of cut Christmas trees.

This location has more selection of outdoor plants and even indoor plants like cacti than the Oak Bay one. The staff are very helpful though sometimes it's hard to find one when one is out amongst the outdoor plants. They expanded parking which is great because it can get busy. Long hours so one could go morning, afternoon, or early evening. A little pricey but they have some beautiful plants and gardening accessories. Sometimes it's a little hard to find items but the staff can take one to the item quickly and easily.
