I will try to keep this short: I purchased a brand new house and when spring arrived, so did bugs. They were so bad, I couldn't go in my back yard because they were so thick, I couldn't sleep because I could feel them jumping on me and I had bites, which turned into sores on my forearms and the top of my chest. I spent lots of time and money trying to find help (I'm sure they exist but I didn't find any "honest" pest companies) I was looking for an entimologist and eventually found Pratt Pest Management. I called and Dana Pratt said to bring my samples to his office. I went the next day and met with Jerry. He listened to my story for about 5 minutes then went into his office and made a phone call. When he was finished he met with me and told me because I had sores on my arms he thought I had a mental syndrome which affects some post-menopausal women - they believe bugs are crawling on their skin but the bugs are imagined not real. 2 weeks later I met with Dana Pratt and he looked at the new bug samples I had; he found Fungus Flies and he told me about moisture and molds, but he said I should see a doctor because he thought the problem was in my head (he did not identify anything else) After begging him to "just come look" he agreed to come to my house. The morning of our scheduled appointment his secretary called and told me he was not coming and she repeatedly suggested I see a doctor.
Eventually I went to the ER and was diagnosed with scabies that I likely caught while cleaning and trying to get rid of the other bugs (doctors say Scabies are everywhere, easy to catch and very common) I didn't get well so I went to another Doctor and the sores were infected. After 3 weeks I still wasn't well. I had been bitten by something else and the doctors still aren't sure what is wrong with me. Eventually I discovered I a moisture problem and so far I have spent over $6500 trying to solve the problems and fix my NEW house. The SYNDROME? Every doctor said it was obvious I did not have that problem because people who suffer with the syndrome scratch and create sores EVERY WHERE ON THE BODY THEY CAN TOUCH. My arms and the top of my chest developed sores because since it was summer I was wearing short sleeves and they were exposed. If Mr. Pratt had actually visited my house instead of dismissing my problem as a mental syndrome, he might have found the mold. At a minimum, I wouldn't be as sick (I wasted weeks with them) and my dog might not have developed Hypersensitivity Pneumonia from the mold.
