I went to buy a lotto ticket and seen they had a basket of chocolates beside the cash, I asked the cashiers to add one to my bill and she told me she can only cash out lotto, I'd have to take it to another cash to buy the one chocolate bar... I thought it was pretty silly to display something at a cash that you cant buy there.

It's usually very busy because of its location. It has a Tim Hortons inside so your hubby can go hang there while you grocery shop. Fresh foods are accessible. The prices are very expensive and quite frankly not very tolerable. In other words. ... drive around the corner and hit up No frills... cheaper and you'll probably find a lot more there than at Sobeys. Oh wait yes Sobeys had liquor or alcohol or whatever. (I'm a non drinker)

I honestly don't find it that expensive - I'm a student and as long as you shop the sales you can get 2-3 weeks worth of groceries for 60$ (thats for me and my fiancé). I love how they lowered the prices for commonly purshaed items .

Quality produce, and butcher (often have decent sales of various meat/cuts). Boxed, dry goods tend to be overpriced compared to other grocers. Great place to purchase beer, cider, wine (often have good sales on wine [sell only 750 ml. bottles]); purchase hours begin earlier and end later every day of the week compared to LCBO or beer store hours (especially in North Bay, where these gov't outlets open and close earlier than in cities).

Went into get a few groceries on Sunday Jan, 10 2019 @ 745 pm got to the deli counter at 750 pm was told sorry we close at 8 pm I said it's ten minutes to 8 pm she said sorry we're closed then a nicer lady came out of nowhere said I'll serve you I work later she said thanks I said. On the way to my vehicle in the parking lot I was being given the death stare by this unknown woman I asked do I know you I said , she said I should be ashamed of how I treated her daughter then there was an altercation in the parking lot ending with this woman taking pictures with her cell phone of my vehicle and myself . Pretty sad I say and other times bought groceries here and the expiration dates were either past or next day . Not impressed!

Sobeys is open twenty-four hours a day, and offers a fairly wide selection of goods. Their live plants and flowers are in better condition than most other grocery stores, and their decor and organisation is well above average. However they have strict bag rules and extraordinarily high prices. To clarify, the bag rule is that anyone with backpacks must relinquish their bags to the service counter before they are allowed into the store... However I have seen women carrying purses larger than dufflebags get away with anything in that place. I feel like this is less about anti-theft and more about discouraging students, young adults, and low-to-mid-income, and unmarried persons from shopping at the store, as we are less likely to have a car with which to drive home with and more likely to be walking home with our groceries on our backs. Honestly, I find it a little classist and pretty discriminatory. Dear Sobeys, please walk home with your weeks groceries in February using only the thin plastic bags provided. I hope they don't crack in the cold. Sincerely, someone who doesn't own a car.

One of the classier grocery stores you can go to in the north. This store feautures beer and wine sales along with a deli, bakery and flower shop. Prices are expensive with deals hard to find. Finding a clean available washroom can be a challenge. They carry a wide variety of goods and have friendly staff.

Had the worst experience in the Floral dept. I couldnt believe that a grocery store was charging $80 for an upgraded 4" poinsetta planter. There wasnt even any add ons or a bow. the staff is usually pretty good. polite, decent customer service. the produce, on the other hand, is definitely hit and miss. especially the fruit. friday I bought some pineapple and strawberries, the already chopped up. put the package in the fridge and went to have some saturday evening. nothing wrong with the fridge. so, took it out, opened and it guess what....the pineapple was rotten. this problem seems to be an ongoing issue with their prepared fruit containers. not buying them there again. 9 bucks wasted.

It's an amazing store. Expensive, but overall good quality and the Express item checkout is great. They have a summer salad and cranberry blueberry wine that pairs nicely with almost every meal. The great thing I love about sobeys is their sensory times. Stopped in for lunch. Had the chicken strips and potatoe wedges. Absolute worst lunch ever. Potatoes were leathery and dry. Chicken was , well imagine a nice golden breaded stick of sawdust. I mean could it have been any dryer. I threw half away because I couldn't swallow any more, and I hate wasting food. But I don't think that should be considered as food. At least the people were pleasant

I was in the store for about a half hour and every few minutes they announced that local health regulations require everyone to wear a mask, social distance and follow directional arrows on the floor. They are one of the few stores that still do the directional arrows, seems pointless as everyone is wearing a mask already. The announcements are very loud and repetitive. I guess Sobey's assumes everyone has been living under a rock and needs a constant reminder of Covid-19. On the plus side they finally figured out how to let people use both the in and out doors to the building. I will avoid this store whenever possible.

Staff are unprofessional jerks who stand around and gossip for most of their shifts. Staff could not care less about your safety and will make you wait outside for a taxi with all of your grocery bags, just so they can lock the doors and go home early. The closing hour should read 10:30 PM, not 11:00 PM.

Anything on sale in the flyer for a decent price is never instock! Bait and Switch There is not even an empty bunker where the on sale meat would have been, had it been in stock. That is because they only ever put out maybe 3 items a day for sale! The store is poorly organized and has got to be the most expensive in the city. I really hate this store.
