Sheldon, the owner, tried to scam me and someone I know. He flat out lied. We were interested in buying an IPhone8+ he had listed for sale on facebook marketplace. He advertised it as new. But when I went to inspect it before buying, the guy at the counter told me that it had been used for awhile, with a broken screen that they fixed. He then opened it up in the back and fixed a bent part. I inspected it and noticed the screen had a discolored spot. So he had to fix that. I offered him less money because it wasn't new like advertised. Sheldon declined. Someone I know followed up without mentioning me and offered him less money. Sheldon replied that he was firm on the price because it was "brand new". I feel bad for whoever buys it, not knowing exactly what they're getting into. Be wary of Sheldon Forgette, the owner of Computer Doctors. He is a confirmed liar when it comes to business interactions.

I took my laptop to this shop because the power source needed to be replaced, i already had the diagnosis. When I got it back i was told it had been tested and worked. When i got it home it did not work. I took it back and after they had it an additional couple of weeks i was told the motherboard was gone. Having taken it in knowing the diagnosis I was really taken aback. I took it elsewhere and it was sent out and they found that the motherboard connection had been damaged during the first repair attempt. There were screws missing and the motherboard connector was held down with tape placed by NB Computer Doctors. Contacted Sheldon to try and rectify the issue in terms of damages but was they could do nothing for me. I am out $300 due to my decision to try out Computer Doctors for repair.

Brought in a computer to replace the mother board and they said it would take 1 week, 1 month later they finally fixed the computer because employees forgot to order the part. The computer works fine, however, completely irresponsible and disorganized. Luckily I had a replacement computer to use.

Brought my daughters' fairly new Plus cellphone to them for charging issues and it was repaired very quickly. They forgot to order me the new charging cord but received it awhile later. They were super friendly and knowledgeable about a product that wasn't very popular and likely, challenging. Will be checking them out for prices on a Mac computer very soon!

I’m a firm believer in supporting local small businesses, that’s why this review troubles me. My fourteen year old son entrusted this business to repair a cracked glass on his phone which He had worked the summer to purchase three months prior.. First repair, glass changed everything worked fine except the fingerprint scanner now was inoperable, tech told my son the screen was faulty ordered a new one. Second repair, fingerprint scanner still not working and now can’t receive calls, tech admits that he may have damaged the antenna, part ordered. Third repair phone cannot receive calls or texts, told nothing more can be done. This was over a period of three months. I go into the store, tech admits fault orders a replacement phone, calls me three days later to pick up new phone, I send my son over, he’s told owner changed his mind(Sheldon Forgette) and sends him home with a very old used phone that had a broken sim card door. Not what was agreed? I spoke with the owner, and was told he would look into the matter and call me back, no return call. Walked into the store, caught Sheldon unexpectedly and was informed that if he had to replace everything they broke he would be out of business. The owner had my cell number, work number and email but couldn’t afford me the respect to call me and tell me personally that he had changed his mind, no apologies or attempt at a resolution of the problem he created.

I had my screen break over a year ago on a two week old laptop. I spent hours looking for the replacement screen which seemed to be not made any longer. It took Computer Doctors multiple deliveries to finally get the right screen but they kept me updated every single step of the way, followed through in every promise, timeline and even gave me a discount for the length of time it took without me saying a word. It still only took about 2 weeks for the repair and I have not had a single issue since, they even reach out 3,6,12 months after the repair to ensure everything is still working properly. Incredibly professional and over and above for customer service. I will be using them again 100%.

Worst service in north bay - said it would be $150 for a new screen and that it’d be done the following day by 2pm. By 3pm I hadn’t heard from them, so I called and they said they didn’t receive their parts that day and that it’d be ready the next day. Once again, hadn’t heard from them so I called and they said they received the wrong type of screen and that it’d for sure be complete the next day. Didn’t hear from them. Called and no answer. The next day they said they still hadn’t received the part. A week goes by, no word from them. Called and they said my phone was ready. Upon pickup I asked if there was any way they could compensate for such awful service and making me wait over a week with no contact. They said no and charged me $196. Which is not what I was quoted.

I gave them a $700 phone to replace the screen. They completely messed my phone up. First of all they put the wrong screen on it. Second of all they scratched the back of it, now whenever the LED light goes off you can see the light through the scratches and the screen is too small. When it's dark you can see the lcd light through the edges of the screen. It cost me $170 for them to fix it. The phone is worse than when I gave it to them and when I gave it to them to fix half the screen didn't work. And for the owner of Computer Doctors. My name is Bradley Jenkins. I brought in a Sony Z5 premium and I realized my speaker was not working and that my screen is coming off.

The Best Critique should you for some reason chose to use them, is to write exactly what you want done, as well as the Replacement Components/Quality you will pay for. Have them sign it, and check it off, prior to payment.. Its too bad I like supporting North Bay Companies.

Worst business I've ever dealt with! I brought my phone in roughly a month ago for a broken screen repair. 2 days later the screen developed a black hole. I brought the phone back and had that fixed but then, the home button wasn't working properly and eventually stopped working altogether. There was also an issue with the battery as it started to die from 100% in 3-4 hours without being used. I brought my phone in for a third time and asked to have the home button and battery fixed. This time i got my phone back and immediately noticed the home button was broken in half and I was already upset having found out it was aftermarket and would not have finger print capabilities. My phone now restarts on its own, presses the home button function repeatedly on its own, and has a non functioning home button. I was told I would be notified when a new home button was in stock but never was. I brought my phone in for a fourth time to have the home button replaced again. I picked it up at the end of the day And was told they didn't have time to work on it. I then took my phone to a different shop and was informed that after market home buttons cannot be installed on this phone and that i need to get one from apple. The cost of an iPhone 7 home button repair from apple is $330 plus tax. Twice that of the screen repair I was charged. Now the owner will not reply to my email and i can not get in contact with them. Avoid this place!!!

I only went into North Bay Computer Doctors for a new battery for my MacBook. I was originally told that the repair would take two days at most. Then I got a call from them asking if my keyboard and trackpad usually worked. When I told them that everything except the battery was fine, they told me that they must have severed a connection in the computer, and it would have to be sent off to Toronto to be reconnected. Whenever I would call for the manager, I would have to wait for him to call me back, which rarely happened. The longest I waited was an entire week, wherein I called the store 5 times before I finally got to speak with the manager. When I finally got it back yesterday, 6 weeks after originally bringing it in, everything appeared to be fine, but upon closer inspection at home, it seems that the trackpad was reinstalled incorrectly. I tried to call the store about the newest issue, but the manager still will not return my calls. Terrible customer service, I would definitely never recommend it.

I cannot even give this company 1 star. First, they are not a certified Apple dealer/service as they lead you to believe from their advertising. Best way to find out is to reach to Apple support, they have a list of Apple certified service in our area and NBCD are not on that list. Second, other than my "home button" my phone was in perfect working condition, prior to me bringing it in there (I have a video of that as well). When I picked up the phone for the "home button repair" I noticed the screen was different, it had two holes on the front of the screen that were not there prior to me bringing it in for repair. When I questioned them, the front desk clerk went to speak to the tech and he came out saying the wires connected from the home button to the screen were severed and he therefore had to change the screen. He then said "but there's no charge to you for this". I found this really odd that my new "home button and now imperfect screen" only would cost me $28 but more upset that nobody called me prior to changing the screen that there was an issue. This leads me to believe the damage occurred while removing the screen. Once home, the home button stopped working and now the phone cannot hear or speak to caller on a call. That feature always worked. I was on Apple support chat and they informed me that it was likely damaged while removing the screen. Granted when I reached out to the owner he offered to look at the phone himself. I refuse to return to this business due to the fact they mislead their customers from the get go, that they are certified to repair Apple products when they are not. I have booked with a Certified Apple service provider to now deal with the issue of no speaker/while on a call and another home button as that somewhat worked for only an hour after I brought it to NBCD. Very dissatisfied with the lack of transparency and honesty of this company! FYI, after the certified Apple provider checked the diagnostics, he said a "third party" part was installed which damaged the display/speaker and home button. I will never return nor recommend this company!

I've had to replace screens for both iphone and ipads and I always had prompt and courteous service. I had some issues once after they replaced the screen and they fully took responsability and had it back to normal within one day. I recommend them for any technical issues.

Horrible experience here, shoddy work and bad customer service. Would have been better off never going here in the first place. They use cheap replacement screens, are careless and damage other parts during repair and will not stand behind the work they do. Now I have to go somewhere else and pay again to have it fixed right. EDIT: you are right it was a year ago the first time I came in to get the screen replaced - since then I have had to return the iPad on 6 different occasions. None if them were for the original issue, but issues caused by your staff or due to the cheap replacement screens used - Sheldon your the one who told me 1 in 10 of the screens you get are defective.

You know you're going to get great service when you walk in and Jack Black greets you with his trademark smile. Okay, it wasn't actually Jack Black, but that tech guy could totally win a Jack Black lookalike contest (and he even plays guitar). My phone--and me--had taken a water dunk. "Jack" said their phone specialist was just about to leave, but called him over anyway. Despite being ready to go out the door their phone person examined my phone, took it apart, explained what they could do to fix it if the drying didn't resolve the issue, and gave me a price for parts and labour that was so low I wasn't sure I heard right ($40.00---I've had other stores want to charge me nearly a $100 just for cracking something open without doing anything else). I went home with an open phone, let it dry, tested it---and it worked--then took it back to have it reassembled properly (I can take anything apart, but putting it back together is altogether a different story). Two other people were there this time. And again, they were polite, quite helpful, and gave me some good advice. As I was in a hurry I left my phone there. When I returned another person was at the counter. Like all the others he was polite, friendly, had a humorous manner, and was helpful. He had me sign my pick-up form, and told me there was no charge for the work. That was just the bonus though. They could have charged me something and I still would bring my stuff into them and recommend them to my friends because all five of the people I dealt with were professional, friendly, and helpful (also good senses of humour). I've lived in BC, Yukon, Alberta, and have gone into a few computer shops, especially in Vancouver, and the NB Computer Doctors is the best computer service shop I've seen. Reasonable prices, good explanations, friendly staff (nice store layout too). Not only will I be using you for all my computer, phone, electronics repairs you'll also be my first stop for accessories--like a new cover and protective casing for my phone. Thanks, Computer Doctors! I'm glad to know a store like yours is around North Bay. I'll be seeing you soon. (btw, I'm on a borrowed computer and was told just to use the default google login info rather than switch it to mine, but you probably know who I am anyway; till next time, Docs).

Two times now I have taken my LG phone to the Computer Doctors with water damage. Once from rain and once from sitting in a sink full of water for 5 hours. Within 48 hours or less they called me to tell me they FIXED my phone. I am completely blown away this place was able to fix a phone I considered junk. They saved all the photos of my baby and charged me an extremely reasonable price. The level of service they provide is unbelievable as well as their knowledge and pricing. Super thankful and highly recommend this place to fix all your electronic needs.

Over charge for everything. Mostly they buy off Amazon or Chinese product so it’s cheaper for them but they still charge you premium product prices. Keep seeing new people working, they seem to have a high turn over rate. I’d suggest for people to go to Toronto or Ottawa to get things fixed. I’m not a competitor. But didn’t you have one of your workers to snoop on the other cell phone place before you bought them. So you’d know how much they are making and asked that worker to hack there systems to gain inside information before purchasing? Of course you’ll decline that information however hopefully people can now see what kind of business you run

I brought in my phone for a screen change after I dropped it and cracked the screen. The screen was replaced after a day or 2. The day after I got it back the screen stopped working. I brought it back to find out was wrong and was told I must have broke it. It was in a case and I never dropped it but was told I needed another new screen and he wouldn't cover the cost of his first replacement. I will never go back to this business as I believe he sold me a dud and hosed me for 2 screen replacements.

Horrible! You could send your phone around the world and have it back quicker then giving it to these guys.Just got my phone back yesterday after them having it for 3 weeks! For a broken charging port.( they said It would take a day to fix) My husband kept calling and they told him oh her phone will be next to work on...day after day... not only did it take over 3 weeks to fix a charge port and lied to us day in and day out. They broke my phone screen and I can now see light coming through the corner. Absolulty horrible. Don't waste your time with these people!!!!!!

Saw an add on Facebook for new Apple AirPods for $140.00 so I went there to buy a pair.. I asked the employee why they were so cheap. Told me because there is a new model coming out. When I get home I see the serial number on the box does not match the serial number on the AirPods. I decide to call Apple to find out what’s going on and was told both those serial numbers were already attached to other Apple IDs.. So Sheldon Forgette and computer doctors are selling used AirPods that have been in other people’s ears as new. sounds like it sound be illegal for Hygiene reasons.. when I called computer doctors back the employee on the phone a first tried saying that he didn’t know how that happened but ended up saying that the shouldn’t have sold used AirPods as new. STAY AWAY FROM THIS BUSINESS..
