I called Westside Pest Control Vancouver to take care of a wasps nest that was growing in my soffit. I was very impressed with the reception I received from the individual who booked the appointment for me. I really appreciated how they try to book a technician who lived close to my area. She took time to listen to my concerns and made sure to give me a 'heads up' on the precautions I need to take. Dhillon came to look after the nest. He called to let me know that he was coming. He took the time to explain what will be happening and what he would be doing to treat the nest. Everything was done professionally, thoroughly and respectfully. I would highly recommend them!

Today is the first visit of Garry, he is so sunny and professional. he gave me a solution immediately and I felt so peaceful now. Our house manager hired Westside Pest Control to take care of our rats and mice problem (detached heritage house). Long story short: After they'd finished their initial service, we still had a rats and mice problem. The company left the impression that they don't really care. The team changed about three times during our term which is why we had to tell them over and again what work had been done and where they'd placed the traps. On top of it, Westside had removed almost an entire beautiful old rhododendron in order to do the digging and left a huge pile of branches in our garden which I had to cut into pieces and get rid of myself. After end of contract, Westside wanted to charge another significant fee to continue the unfinished work, so we decided to go for another company which not only quickly found the rats access points which Westside hadn't seen but also had to replace their complete mesh because it was too wide for mice. Really?? Overall, not a service I would recommend.

I am very satisfied with the service that Westside Pest Control performed in August this year. Although I didn't get to meet the people who came to remove the four hornet nests in person but the communication through Email and your website went very smooth. Pictures I submitted were carefully studied by your experts and they removed the exact nests as indicated and without any debris leftover. What is more impressive is that my balcony fence were damaged from normal wear-n-tear. (It was leaning outward meaning it had all the potential to fall and hurt someone underneath. I could not go out to anchor the fence because the biggest nest was near the fence and I was afraid I would anger the colony.) This was communicated to your experts to be careful not to lean on the fence as my main concerned was not to get anyone hurt. Not only was this point taken seriously but I was completely surprised to find the balcony fence re-positioned to a much safer position after the nests were removed. This gesture was very much appreciated.

He removed a small wasp nest from a super awkward spot on our 2nd story patio roof which went great and was finished quickly. He was also super helpful by wiping off a dry bird dropping from our glass patio roof while he was up there. I mention this because with so many great / similar companies out there, these little “above and beyond” things mean something. And now, I will definitely use Westside for our next pest issue! (Disclaimer, I work in marketing) After the wasp nest removal, Andy gave me some helpful hints and suggested some other pest services that I wasn’t aware about. Westside Pest Control took care of a hornet's nest in my attic last year. They were so easy to work with that I contacted them again this year to help me with a squirrel removal and wasps nest. The office staff who takes the calls and schedules the appointments are super friendly (Kayla was great...I spoke with her on a couple of occasions) and the site technicians are efficient and professional. Thank you to Igor, Brendan, & Dylann for helping me with the squirrel removal. Although it was a 3 week ordeal I'm glad the squirrels were removed humanely and ensured that they didn't have any babies before we sealed up the entry points! Since having Westside Pest Control visit our townhouse, we haven't seen or heard any rodents or evidence of them, so it seems like the entry points were blocked. Jeremy did a good job looking at possible entry points. He was frustrated by the inaccessibility of some possible locations, but did the best he could. Because we are in a townhouse, rodents can be a problem with shared walls, but he still offered to return if we had problems.

Inspite of the fact that initially the service delivered was not satisfactory, I am rating 5 stars for this business for best costumer and after sales service which is rare nowadays in a business world that is governed by policies that may not necessarily serve the consumer. I have called Pest Control to handle rats on my property- exterior, few months ago. I was not satisfied with the service as I started seeing rats again shortly after they removed the bait boxes. When the matter was brought to Mike ( owner) attention, he quickly contacted me and addressed the issue He took the time through emails to explain to me how exterior pests are handled as well as other details about their company, which I highly appreciated it. He further offered to come back, free of charge, to reinspect my property and try to find a solution to the rats issue. I would have happily taken him on that offer except for I have already contracted another pest control company to handle the job by then. Based on that Mike has refunded me all money I paid for the service which was over $400 and further extended a welcome note for me to contact Westside Pest Control anytime I have a pest issue in the future. I value any company that has business ethics and stands behind a service or product they delivered- this business is certainly one of them! Thanks Mike for turning this around & making a very unsatisfied costumer a happy one in so many different way!

Westside Pest Control is the Delta Force of exterminators. They came, they saw, they conquered. I had a serious carpenter ant situation. I went online to find reputable exterminators, and Westside received very strong reviews. I can confirm that sentiment. In my case, the ants had spread across the front interior walls of my house. Jeremy and his Westside team came within about 24 hours of my initial phone call, and they were methodical in their approach. They drilled and sprayed throughout the building envelope, and also threw in a treatment of the back portion of the house for free. That would be fine on its own, but the carpenter ants weren’t going to go without a fight. The ants were big, menacing, and had tenaciously dug themselves into various locations of rotting wood. It was possibly one of the more challenging insect battles on record. But on at least three separate occasions over a two-week period, Westside came back (let me repeat, they came back) and continued to spray and use other techniques until the ants were gone. All of these repeat visits were without charge, and on each occasion Westside came within 24 to 48 hours after I called. Frankly, it is rare to see such a high level of customer service in general, and certainly within Vancouver. You will find cheaper exterminators out there, I know from personal experience. But if you want results, quality workmanship, and fast response, Westside can’t be beat. I am ant free thanks to them. It’s a no brainer: if you have an insect issue, call Westside.

Got the rats problem and former treatments were not quite successful, I called Westside literally at midnight immediately after I saw a rat and made an appointment. Ondrej was sent and found a unnoticed possible entrance, and set traps wishing to get rats captured. He arrived right on time, examined carefully, and even called me before if it's okay to arrive a bit earlier. I admit having these traps and entrances filled is a huge lift on the chest for me!

Happy customer. I booked an appointment with the company to remove a tiny wasp nest. The person came quite promptly early in the morning at the scheduled time. It was a very small job. The guy explain to me that it is umbrella wasp nest (the least aggressive wasp). It was a very tiny wasp nest. I used this company I understand that with heated floors any problem could come back but to return within 3 months of from having the whole downstairs sprayed and exit house for the 6 hour recommendation along with re-housing a pet only to see the problem return. When I contacted them certainty offered to respray but at a cost ???? I had arranged for the outside perimeter of the house to be sprayed they came when it was raining after u specifically asked them not to spray when it rains they did whist I was at work, please do not waste your money instead but a bottle of tea tree oil and put a few drops where you see ants that does work at a cost of $12

We recently had Westside Pest Control remove a wasps' nest from a difficult to reach eave under the roof of our house. They did so promptly and efficiently and then inspected our property for other wasp nests, but found none. This is the second time we used their services. Two years ago, we had a skunk problem. They came and found the spot where a skunk had taken up residence on our property (a crevice in the some boulders) and sealed it off. After inspecting the property, they sealed off two other possible spots, so the skunk couldn't find somewhere else to sleep. Westside Pest Control also gave us a one-year skunk-free warranty. That was two years ago and we are still skunk free. We also like that they solved the problem without killing any animals.

Either i did not get the notice or it went to jung k mail. They want to you to purchase the spray in 2017 for 2018 application. The light when on today when i saw them in my neighbourhood and remembered i had not got a notice. Called the office and she was sure it was sent out in december. I had set up with them for recurring service, and pest exclusion on the roof. There were some minor hiccups with scheduling, wording of contract, and some misunderstandings about scope of service and what I perceived was a deficiency with how exclusion mesh and framing was constructed (too much writing to cover all the details here). The bottom line, they were very professional and responsive to my concerns and made some small and big changes to address the issues. Office staff were prompt, polite, professional and responsive. The star of the show was the service technician. He was very knowledgeable, efficient, polite, informative and professional. We went above and beyond, and returned the next day, and worked late to complete bait station set-up and did some extra work on exclusion mesh and framing. I think these folks are committed to good customer service and quality. That's comforting, and I don't mind paying for quality when we are dealing with pests that can wreak havoc and bring a lot of stress. Much appreciated.

Sadly, we did not have a good experience. Firstly, the person they sent to our apartment barely checked the possible entry points. We had to point him to the corners where we felt mice were coming in from, but we're not experts: he is supposed to be. Secondly, after spending 250$ (which is a lot for us, in our 20s) for blockage and traps, the mice came again the next day. We called Westside Pest Control to explain what we saw and were told that there are NO guarantees on the service we received and that they would not be coming back. Now we're out 250$ but the problem is still very present.

I have used Westside Pest Control many times in the past for multiple properties but the last experience I had was the absolute worst. I called for a follow up complete inspection for squirrels since we saw squirrels going into the house from the roof awning. The inspector kept saying there are rat droppings and therefore they won’t honour any warranty for squirrels. He kept saying the house is old, there are lots of roof awnings and hard to reach places so he didn’t couldn’t see clearly. We told him to at least use the wire mesh screen to cover the hole he discovered and so he did. Just to be safe, we hired a contractor to re-examine the roof awnings. The contractor actually did a proper inspection and found several more holes that are the size of a fist. The contractor said the wire mesh for the only hole the Westside inspector did was very poorly done, it did not even wrap around the roof awning and didn’t even cover up the hole. The wire mesh barely hung onto the roof and didn’t effectively cover the hole. We are very disappointed how the inspector from Westside missed all the other holes and failed to properly mesh the only hole he found. We always thought hiring a professional pest control company means we would be getting a professional inspection to look at all obvious places. That is not the case here, the inspector from Westside made lots of excuses about the house being old, have spots that are harder to reach and just because he saw rodent droppings he will have to charge twice for squirrels and rats. He was here for only 15 minutes inspecting a 4 story house and failed to find the entry points. He did a poor job of covering the only entry point he did find. This was an absolute horrible experience where the inspector just made excuses and complained about the house. ***This review has been edited based on the follow up conversation with one of the owners, Mike. I do want to express that management does care about the jobs their employees did and if it was done poorly, they will attempt to make it right. My previous experiences with Westside were satisfactory, they came out and performed what was expected. The previous work done at my other house for rats were done properly and they did honour their warranty commitments. For this house, the initial visit for squirrels by one of their technicians (Brendon) was great and he did attempt to inspect all the possible entry points. As with all businesses, some employees take their jobs more seriously than others. You can’t expect everyone to do a good job. Just don’t blindly trust a professional, you have to do your own due diligence and inspect the work they have done.

Right off the bat I could tell Mike was genuinely interested in understanding what happened to prevent this situation occurring again. He was understanding and didn't try to make excuses, he simply apologized for the quality received. While I still maintain that the service we received was subpar, I would not hesitate to use Westside Pest Control again knowing that they will make things right and true to his word, he did provide a full refund. I also believe that Mike will get to the bottom of why there was communication breakdowns so this doesn't occur again. _____________________________________________ Very disappointed with what seemed like a reputable company. Originally bought the ~$700 package which we were told would come with 3 visits from technician, along with a 6 month guarantee. The technician came and checked the interior and exterior. We requested he check the house along with the upstairs rooms. He decided not to check the upstairs, stating 'mice never go up that far'. The next day we inspected it ourselves and there were mice droppings up there. In addition, we were told AFTER the service was completed and were billed that there would be no 6 month guarantee because the house was too old, so we requested to simply be dropped down to the $300 one-time visit since there wasn't any guarantee. They said that was fine but would have to remove the poison. A 1 hour visit from one technician which involved laying a few traps (the $1-2 traps that you buy from home hardware) should not cost $300. Overall, if they were up front with what they could have offered and had stipulations about their guarantee, would've just went with a different company. After calling their competitors, other companies offer more for the same price without the shady practices.

Our townhouse unit was sprayed and injected to take care of carpenter ants. We were not contacted before to book an appointment, given a notice of preparation for before and after care. They did not give us 48-72 hours notice according to the Integrated Pest Management Act and Regulation, they just showed up. We had asked the technicians if we were aloud to stay inside of this unannounced visit even though our baseboards and drywall were removed. The Technician came inside our unit and said it is safe for us to stay inside while they inject our walls from the outside. But after seeing the invoice of their work today it says we were supposed to vacate while injecting and for at least for two hours. My wife, our 9 year old son, older son, my 86 year old father in-law with an autoimmune disorder and our family dog sat inside with the windows closed as my wife didn't want the fumes to come in through the windows. Another pest control company told us the other day that we should have been vacated as well as a wall in considered a void and the fumes can go through the electrical outlets. We never knew they were going to do a perimeter spray also and our dog was found to be sniffing the wet spray when she was left in her backyard. We had made a review previously but it has been deleted. There were no notices posted outside on common property as well as they were spraying on common property and we seen our neighbors grandchildren playing right beside where they were spraying near our retaining wall later that day. They did a thorough check and turns out that I didn't have a rat problem so they didn't charge me anything. They even gave me a free assessment for other vermin. They were absolutely understanding of our concerns and where quite polite. We also appreciate the fact that they followed proper Covid protocol. We highly appreciate their work. We had squirrels, rats and deer mice in the attic of the house we bought. The first company we talked to said that there was nothing we could other than replace our concrete tile roof. Then we called Westside Pest Control and Mike said they could stop the pests from getting in. Six months later there has been no sign of any pests in the attic. We didn’t have to replace the roof and the service was very friendly and professional.

I contacted Westside Pest Control this summer to help with my Carpenter ant infestation. Because I am a beekeeper and have two honey bee hives in my back yard, it was imperative to find people with enough knowledge about the perils associated with pest control who would respect my wishes to protect the bees at all costs, not to mention the Annas hummingbirds which I feed year round and last but certainly not least my hybrid cats. I was so impressed with the professionalism with which the employees conducted themselves. They demonstrated good knowledge of the problem and how to go about eradicating the ants while protecting all my creatures explaining the process in detail to me. The work was done in a timely fashion and the bill came in under the quoted amount because less people were required to do the work. You can't ask for more than that! And a follow up phone call was made to ensure that the work done had accomplished what was guaranteed. I have nothing but praise for what was done and never fail to recommend this company when asked for my advice and opinion.
