2018 has been bad service with this week k own company. Most of the time the Orkin rep does not show up but I get charged anyway and when I file my complaint I can only get a credit. Not only that the rep does a pretty remedial job for maintaining outdoor service. Definitely the rep I had last year was consistent, honest, thorough, and reliable.

When I called to set up service in the Northern California location, I spoke to David and he was very friendly and great to work with. The Orkin employee that came out to the appointment was on time and friendly. Our only frustration/complaint is that when the worker arrived to do service, he notified us that in order to do the inside we had to have everything moved away from the baseboards and we had to take our dogs and leave the house for 2 hours. No one told us anything about this when we set up our service so we were obviously not prepared. This has resulted in having to book a second appointment in a few days for them to come back and do the inside. Very inconvenient. Unable to comment on effectiveness of service as this is our first treatment.

Our guy, Mike, is fantastic! I love that we don’t get a different person each time. We have dogs that we need to lock up before he comes. He is fantastic about communicating with us on when he’s coming, confirms time, lets us know when he’s arrived and when he’s leaving. It doesn’t sound like much, but it really is comforting to us. Update Nov 2021: contract ended. I thank you Orkin for your service. Started out strong and waned in the latter months of the contract. Service was for interior of home as well and they ended up placing boxes near the flooring and baseboards. They’re scheduling began to push out. And when I had to reschedule they failed the last visit. Update 24SEP21: As contracted, Mike is very professional in sweeping our home every other month. Very informative when asked questions. Michelle was Awesome! She explained how she was going to execute the work since it was our initial visit by Orkin. Very professional, courteous and friendly! Did the job exterior/ interior of the home thoroughly! Looking forward to Orkin taking care of our new home.

Technician finished the service as I was returning from an errand. I asked the technician if he’d done the backyard. He said yes. I was taken aback since my backyard is double-latched and I typically have to unlock the gate so people can gain access. When I questioned him, he said he just opened the gate. I reiterated that my gate is always double/latched and he confirmed that he did the back. He then proceeded to tell me that he’s been doing this over seven years and knows what he’s doing. I mentioned to him that he was more concerned with being right and arguing with me rather than just acknowledging my comment. From a customer service standpoint, you NEVER argue with a customer even when you are right. I called the servicing office to initiate cancellation of my service.

I had a technician come out due to another mouse infestation in my home. He glanced around at the already in place coverage, and deemed it suitable. He told me that the mouse my cat found was probably just one that snuck in from outside when a door was open, as can happen. He didn't seem to believe me when I told him I clean pretty regularly and this was a problem bigger than just one mouse. He then told me that he'll come back a few days after the original schedule (today) to set glue traps and do my interior spray, and asked what time would work for me. After he left, I cleaned the areas the mice were hiding in and found an obvious way the mice can get from my garage to my kitchen, like I tried to explain to him. Fast forward until today, where it's after noon when we agreed upon morning. I stayed home from work the second time this week to be here, and he hasn't shown up. I'm currently on the line with Orkin to find out he didn't even schedule the follow up nor is he answering their calls! This is the second time something like this has happened. Last time, I made a comment to ask the technician to knock on the door so he could be let in to do my interior spray and they knocked once and walked away before I could make it it the door.

My exterminator called once he was on his way, explained everything he was going to do and was very professional. He then called back a week later to make sure the pests were gone, and offered to come out anytime I saw pests at no extra charge. The best part is that he is my exterminator for the duration of my contract, I have his personal number and he is the only contact I need.

VERY PLEASED I called Orkin, Because of an obvious spider issue outside and inside my home! The first visit Chris shared information why so many spiders and how after treatment with Orkin the spiders will be gone upon controlling the foliage around house to maintain the issue. Chris was through in explaining how they work , how often they will come and how much it will cost. I have peace of mind knowing that this fall no more spiders or ants to beckon my doors. Scheduling was a disaster. I called on a Thursday and their call center scheduled for Saturday. Supervisor calls late on Friday and says Saturday does not work and wants to move to Monday. On Monday the person does not show up. I caked the supervisor and he said the tech was still at home! The call center forces you to long wait times, did not schedule correctly and then does not show up. They finally shoes up on Thursday later in the week.

I was scheduled 12-2 and our exterminator arrived around 12:20 which I appreciate so much because I hate companies that have time gaps of 5hours and come literally at the end of the frame. When we first got the service things were good. Unfortunately the last four or five months the service has been non-existent. The tech schedules a service date and time, and then never showed. No call, no notification of any kind. Our service is a little difficult because it always has to be on the weekend, and late in the day. We have had two (2) or three (3) missed appointments in these last months. I have tried to talk to a supervisor and that person only paid lip service to my issues. If you guys cannot get your sh** together, we will have to begin searching for another service, and in this area that is difficult to get good ethical service. Sometimes we forget to pay the bill because we do not get any service. When we do, you guys are all over us about the bill. These are not threats, just statements of the fact that the last few months we have received very poor service.

My experience has its pros and cons. Cons is that I’ve made it clear that I need services on Thursday’s maybe even Friday's. This was suppose to have been entered into the system from day one, but it seems like that gets left out. The visit before this one, the tech showed up and nobody was home to get sprayed inside. I am still not sure as to why this keeps getting over looked. Maybe a change over from one tech to another? Or something changed with your system? Idk, but the first time this happened the phone rep said it’s in the notes.... Cons is that every tech that comes out to spray has been very professional and respectful. They keep in mind of my pet lizard who I let run around in the backyard every now and then. I have to qualms with the tech who service my home.

Review updated - reverted back to 5 stars again, new machine treatment started, will be back again to make sure the gopher/mole/vole issues are under control. I gave a 5 star review in the past and now I’ve downgraded to 1. I have dealt with gopher mole and or vole issue since September and Orkin has not controlled the problem and there’s zero support. The issue was escalated but they just don’t have the solutions or the support - nothing they used has helped and after doing great damage to my stone patio, they finally brought a smoker machine and the machine broke down after a minute! No back up machines in the office, no support - this was almost a month ago and still no solution. I’m ready to give up on Orkin!

I'm very impressed with the service we're recieving. Our technician listens to my concerns and addresses them immediately. I addressed a wasp that may have made a home under my roof and it was taken care of immediately plus additional care to ensure no other pests were housing themselves in that area. I was a bit disappointed with our previous technician due to his sporadic arrival times and days. Plus, I didn't see much improvement with bug control in the house then. But, I think the change has been quite good.

Tl;dr: if you want to be over charged, under served, and have someone bad mouth you in your own home, choose Orkin from Concord. If you don’t, go some place else. Any place else! Go somewhere else. This is a scam, an expensive scam! They will tell you one price on the phone, and show up and it’s suddenly double... Fine, I can pay for a quality service, might be what you are thinking. There is nothing about this service that is quality! The ‘service man’ that came basically said he would not perform 1/2 of what the woman on the phone said would be the course of action. He did a 1/2-@$$ job at best. Didn’t move a single thing to spray, only sprayed about 1/2-1/3 (being generous with this!!) of the perimeter...not behind pots/planters. Not behind landscaping. Not around a shed attached to the house. Wouldn’t open a gate to the rest of the side yard, nothing. On the phone they recommended the inside be sprayed as well, he was not going to until I insisted multiple times. And then did a worse job than the perimeter, I’m talking missing multiple rooms and entry points completely. Of the rooms he sprayed, maybe about 1/4 (again VERY generous) coverage area... Worse, he treated me like I am an idiot and kept asking me “Do you understand?” In the most condescending way. Do not come to my house and belittle me! He brought some kid who was shadowing him, the kid was just touching my walls and putting his hands all over everything. Very weird. About how I clearly didn’t understand (which I did, but was sold something different...), and other very rude mumblings... Pro-tip to Orkin of Concord: save the bad-mouthing of customers to when you are out of earshot/not on home surveillance...

Orkin acquired the pest control firm we hired for routine bi-monthly maintenance. Unfortunately we are very disappointed with Orkin because they. 1. Could not keep appointments and continually rescheduled at the last minute. 2. Their service people we inexperienced and required being shown around each time for instance, the location of pest bait boxes. 3. Their service is inconsistent and had to be asked to provide each service. 4. Orkin pays their staff on how many homes they can knock out per day, so they no incentive to be thorough or do a good job and can't be depended upon to know what to do or find pestbait boxes without supervision. 5. Orkin is painful to work with not just because they have to be supervised and asked to provide the various cleanngs and inspection but, thier inability to adhere means I have had to frequently reschedule my calendar for thm. 6. It turns out the chemicals Orkin uses are incompatible with growing vegetables and herbs. i had to continuallly steer them away from vegetable beds.eeee

Mice had gotten in my house a few weeks ago. I called my current pest control company. They came out and set a couple glue strips, and 1 bait station outside my house. Then they told me they would check back or I should call them. They never checked back and nothing they put down caught any mice. They really did not seem take my problem as much more then what more do you want, I did not feel that they really cared. I personally spent about $400 in the hardware store trying to take care of problem myself. Needless to say I still have nice. Last night was last straw. Two mice running around my bedroom. This morning I called Orkin. They were able to give me an appointment this morning. Chris Boe arrived and the first thing he wanted to know was where I was seeing mice. Then Chris wanted to take a look around my house so he could see what was going on and what he could do about my problem. Chris pointed out I had some entry points on the outside of my house, which he sealed. He placed bait stations around my house. He went into my garage and broke the news to me i had rats there. He sealed some cracks in there and pointed out, I could use a new weather strip on my garage door to make the seal tighter. He said I also could use a weather strip on garage side door. He then placed a few traps in my garage. He also went back in my house and placed the glue strips in better locations along with a few more. By the time Chris was leaving he made me feel that i was in good hands and no more mice or rat's would come into my home or garage. Chris said what we were doing now is catching any that were in the house and not letting any more in. Chris also promise to follow up with me on Monday. I also ran out and got the wheater strip for my garage door and installed. Installed weather strip side garage door. I could not have asked for a more professional and knowledge person the what we got in Chris Boe. When you need the best call Orkin. Thank you Chris. Thank you Orkin.

You can never get an Orkin person to come faster than 2 days when you have a rodent.the only time they come the very next day is for the initial visit when you're paying the $268. the technician only looks around on the outside surfaces.never checked any of the other rooms.asked them to move the refrigerator and stove and he came up with some excuse and gave me some mouse glue sticks I could have bought them myself at Home Depot for less than $268 . I specifically asked him to move the refrigerator. I left and I called home and ask my daughter did he move the refrigerator she said no.had to call the technician to come back and do what he should have done the first trip. if you have a rodent problem on the weekend. Youre out of luck. not coming until Monday or Tuesday. will not use this service again.this is my second time using orkin. I thought I would give him a second chance and they failed me once again. The ladies who answer the phones after 10 mins. R not friendly or professional.

I think we arrived about 15 minutes past the time work was to be completed. No one was here. The front and back doors were unlocked which is concerning. My experience with Orkin started off bad. My first scheduled appointment was canceled at the last minute. I called and rescheduled my appointment, and no one ever showed up. We’ve used Orkin for a couple of years now and they’ve been wonderful. They come out about every six weeks or so and we don’t have any pests come in to the house (very rare to see one). When they spray, they also check the perimeter carefully and remove any cobwebs they see. Also. I spotted a big bug by the garage can which I hadn’t seen before, took a picture and texted it Orkin and they sprayed on their next visit and I haven’t seen any strange bugs since then. I highly recommend them and their prices are very reasonable.

My husband and I used Orkin every other month at our home in Southern California for 8 years. We were very happy with them. We now own a home in Northern California and started back up with Orkin due to an ant issue. Chris came over and was very helpful. He explained what he was using and why. The reason for the 4 stars was because we were told over the phone we could stay in the house after he sprayed inside. Unfortunately he told me I would need to leave for 2 hours. I was already planning to leave, but if I was planning to be home I would have been very upset. The customer service people need the correct information.

There was a lot of confusion about if the appointment was a follow up, or if it was supposed to be my April appointment or My May appointment it was a bit confusing but in the long run it got straightened out.I had to make quite a few phone calls but again every time I called with my concerns and issues with somebody showing up when they shouldn’t of showed up, the person who was supposed to show up the following week didn’t show up and there was no message but when I called everybody in the home office and my home branch were very responsive and very nice and finally straightened it out. Mike was sent out today and he was very professional and thorough.

What a difference in reliability from one office to another. I had great service for 20 years in Maryland. I have awful service from Orkin’s Concord Office. 3x no shows and very poor coordination within Orkin on scheduling. I am terminating the contract after 2 months. Also - Orkin now has all communications through their 800 number and things get bullixed between 800 and local office. Don’t go with Orkin Concord. I’m going elsewhere beginning Monday!

We have monthly service with Orkin. Our technician Mike does an outstanding job each month inspecting, treating and keeping pests (i.e. insects) at bay on the exterior of our house to prevent them from intruding inside our house. If there is ever an occasional problem (exterior or interior) whereby an additional service maybe required, Mike is very quick and responsive to deal with the issue. Over the years we have found Mike to be thorough, knowledgeable, very friendly, customer oriented and personable. We would highly recommend Mike and Orkin to our friends and family.

This was the first time I needed exterminator service since owning my home. At first, I was unsure of the service I would receive from Orkin as I was reading other reviews on other websites in regards to their customer service. I will tell you that everybody has different experiences... as for me, I had a great experience. Eddie from the Concord branch is the one who helped us. He greeted us politely and listened to our recent experience with household ants. He was very reassuring and understanding of our needs. Only time will tell in regards to the household ants situation. As soon as Eddie showed up, there was not an ant crawling out of the spots I usually saw them crawling out of but he still took a look around and sprayed as needed at the exterior of my house. I am big on customer service and I had a great one with Orkin. Even while Eddie was at our home, I called the branch to discuss payment terms and was able to speak with a live person. Heather, over the phone, was friendly as well! She explained the terms and what was included. Eddie and Heather, thank you for being so kind!

I started my service a few weeks ago and the first day, the rep did not sweep down the very visible cobwebs that were on the bushes out front, nor did the "follow up " rep Cheyenne, who came in June 5th. She was here less than 5 minutes. This poor type of service, is the reason I cancelled my service before.

At the moment they just came for an inspection. Good news, I funny have bed bugs. Bad news, Third means I'm allergic to fleas. They did a thorough job looking for evidence of bed bugs, looking in all the nooks and crannies. I plan on using their regular service to rid my house of any pests. It's surprisingly affordable for me. Once they've done the treatment I'll revise my review.

Ever since I’ve had Orkin, I get a text usually 30 mins prior to them showing up. However, THREE times now, Orkin has either, shown up for an appointment that was CANCELED a week prior, shown up when NO APPOINTMENT HAD been made or as in TODAY’s case, appointment from 10-12. No text prior, I was home, NEVER heard a knock nor did my dogs bark. I step out front door to see an invoice under the mat by my front door. It stays that they were at my house at 9:20am & left @ 9:30. I have to unlock the back gate so they can do the full service I pay for! Gate was NOT unlocked, so now I get to play phone tag, yet again, so they can waste more of both of our time and COME BACK TO FINISH. ????. The practices of this company are ridiculous. I DON’T CARE THAT THEY’RE A BIG COMPANY, they can’t run a business. I have had to have them back out REPEATEDLY because I would still have any problems or some other issue that they’re supposed to take care of & did NOT! I AM CHANGING MY PEST CONTROL COMPANY!! ????????????????
