We were first introduced to Greg Nowik and his team at Universal Mortgage Architects by our realtor back in 2007 when my wife and I had made an offer to purchase a new home in Nanaimo B.C. We first met Greg in 2003 when we decided to buy a house on Vancouver Island. At that time we were still living in Ontario and didn’t plan to move out here until 2007. We literally had one week to find a house, purchase the house and then find a mortgage broker who could help us arrange financing. It was a whirlwind and potentially a bit of a nightmare because we were down to the wire. Then we met Greg who was calm and unflappable, assuring us that he could arrange financing and that it would all be completed before our flight back to Ottawa, which was merely days away. He was as good as his word, getting us a great mortgage and all the paperwork completed in record time. In 2007 we eventually retired to the island but realized we needed a larger house to accommodate us, our two giant dogs and equally giant cat. We found a new house but hadn’t sold the one we were living in. It was the weekend and we were up against a deadline – we had to commit to purchase by Saturday night or lose the house we wanted. Once again Greg came through and assured us this was not a problem, and he could arrange bridge financing if we needed it – we got the house, the financing and Greg even arranged the legal for us as well. Fast-forward to June 2020 – Greg just secured a great renewal mortgage again, suitable for our needs at this later stage of our lives. He spent an incredible amount of time looking at various options and explaining them to us; however, the recommendation he finally made for us was to remain with our previous lender even though that meant he made no commission. We can’t thank Greg enough for his time, patience and willingness to go that extra mile for his clients – priceless! We have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Greg and his team.
