Bought lumber from here multiple times during the summer, I like being left alone to pick the lumber I want. I know where most stuff is, so I don't mind loading it up myself. What made my day, was after loading up a truck of lumber. Stopping at the yard office to sign out. The young man tried to staple a red flag on the wood. He messed around for quite awhile before my friend hopped out, and showed him how to use a stapler. I would have sat there all day. Maybe better stapler training? He had one job lol

Incompetent rental department. After selling my online order of a snowblower to someone else the day I come to pick it up, they then proceed to sell me a new snowblower that wasn’t assembled properly and is missing parts. The first big snowfall of the year and my snowblower is unusable. Incompetence all around that rental department. I highly recommend going to Lowe’s or Home Depot instead

Said they didnt have 8 foot 2x6, had to buy 10, got outside there was all the 8 foot you could ever want. Place was a bit of a cluster fox. Some staff were running around working very hard. Others were doing nothing. Other than that the place is laid out quite weirdly.

After multiple issues with stocking and units not even working in Barrie I bring some business back to Midland and stop in at the local Rona for a last minute shot at purchasing a lawn tractor. They had the unit in house and the Rental team had it polished off started it up and verified the functions before loading it on my trailer. What a turn key operation, will be returning to this location for future purchases, absolutely. Great job.

The rating I want to give is zero but one is the lowest option here online. It took longer than thirty minutes to wait at the curbside to pick up my order and I even didn't get it from there. Today @12:58pm arrived at the curbside, 1:03pm I called store number and provided name, order number, 1:25pm I called 2nd time to double check why no one comes, same person answered the phone and she lied, she said this is the first time I call in, then she promised a two-min delivery, 1:30pm still no one comes out, I called again to know if I can just go in to the store, I don't mind walk in to pick up the other by myself, but this lady insisted to have my phone number and order number again for returning call. 1:43pm I walked in the store and got the item that I need, I paid it then refund my online order. It took me only 10 min to have these things done. Rather than keep me a long wait why didn't the lady give another option? Seems RONA doesn't care my little business

I have placed at least a dozen orders with this location over the past 3 months and I cannot think of a single good thing to say. You need to call a front desk to pick up your order but their phone doesn't have a hold option so its straight to voice-mail if they don't answer. You sit in your vehicle waiting for sometimes 30 minutes before you are brought your paperwork to give to the warehouse yet you still need to load your own vehicle. The warehouse is full of employees that don't know where items are, how to load, how to maneuver a forklift - like its literally shameful how bad they are at their jobs. I'm just not sure what their thought process is when trying to run this business but its absolutely horrible. I have dealt with hardware stores through out Georgian Bay, Orillia, Lindsay, beaverton, Whitby, Peterborough and this one is THE WORST. Management should be embarrassed.

I always have great service at the lumber yard/pick up area. Every time have to speak to customer service they are abrupt and snippy. I really feel disappointed that people get away with this behaviour. Embarrassed that tourists go there!!!

-Ordered online for curbside and chose this location because wait time was shortest and they had multiple in inventory. -Order confiramtion says i have to wait longer than other locations despite what online said. -Ready to pick up email comes, i goto pick up and these guys roll out a dirty floor model, price tag still attached. no box, fully assembled, no discount. i told them it was unacceptable. they offered a refund but i said they wasted my time and to contact another store for inventory. said they would call me with the details of the order transfer. -call comes not even 5 minutes later saying that they can't transfer my order because it has been 'completed' and all they can do is refund me, basically that they cant be bothered to even try to make it right. -BIG WASTE OF TIME! -CUSTOMER SERVICE THAT DOES NOT PROVIDE SERVICE! -MANAGER OR SUPERVISOR THAT TRIES TO DUPE UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMERS!

Went in looking to purchase some sod. There was nobody in the outside garden centre so I approached the cashier inside, who told me she couldn't help me but that the garden person outside would,despite me saying there was no one outside. I decided to try outside again, but there was still no one outside. I asked another clerk inside about what to do,and she said the cashier would ring me in and I could just go outside and collect my things afterwards. The cashier inside yet again referred me to go outside. I went to leave, as no one was of any help, but FINALLY there was a single worker outside! So I am giving this two stars as I eventually got what I wanted to purchase (despite the price ringing up wrong as well).

I have wish i could have given no stars, i have build 4 houses through Rona 4 years ago and had a great relationship with some of the staff. Sebastian was one of the best and well knowledge people i have ever can to know he help me through all the plans and take offs. i have been there now 3 times and the service sucks, you wait forever to get served and the quality of lumber has dropped so far down hill. Now there are so many young kids that only care about there phone and don't know anything, the flooring associate is rude and does not want to serve you. At the contractors desk they have a young kid that spends more time running away from customers then helping them. i use to love this store when Larry Cown ran it but now there service has gone so far down hill i will never even buy a 2x4 from them.

I have no idea what is going on with their curb side pick up. I’ve been a few times now as well as family members. We all seem to have the same issue - we can’t get through, the phone keeps ringing an on one occasion when asking an employee seen outside about being there for curb side pickup and being unable to get anyone on the line they were very rude and stated “yeah, we’re busy” with quite the attitude. On a separate occasion it took me 147 times calling just to get through and have someone answer. I was the only car in the curbside parking space. No one was outside for me to ask, and of course we can’t go in right now due to Covid restrictions. So what was going on that day baffles me. I attached a photo to prove this because even I wouldn’t believe it without seeing it. A better system needs to be put in place for curbside pickup. 147 calls is ridiculous.

Bought a gazebo here and 7 days later it went on sale. As per their policy they will refund the difference. We are still waiting for the refund for the last 2 weeks. They seem to be giving us the run around. We even called the 1800 # on the website. They said they would send an email with confirmation about the refund so it could be processed. Store is denying receiving the email dispite knowing their own policies. Now the store manager wants to talk to my husband in person. Which makes no sense. Just follow your own policies and do the refund. I come from a family of contractors and I have bought alot of products from here while Renovating my home. These policies are in place to protect the store and the customer. As a customer I feel very disrespected that they wouldn't follow their own policy because it didn't benefit them..

They have very old style return policy. They don't accept scanned receipt in phone and they need the original. When everything is virtual they still need the paper receipt. Don't understand if they don't have the record of sale in their system and can't verify.

We placed a large order though Rona because it was the only store that had the galvanized wire mesh available. For the last two weeks I have been hung up on, put on hold, promised return calls and otherwise ignored when trying to follow-up with the status of our back ordered item. Yesterday we were delivered an item (an incorrect item). When I called to let them know that it was wrong and that we were given 6' lengths as opposed to 50' lengths as we ordered I was told it MUST be 8' because there is no such thing as 6' and that there will be no 50' lengths until August there is nothing they can do about that. (I ordered 4 x 50' lengths and was given 4 x 6' lengths but charged for the 50' lengths). Today I spent nearly an hour trying to call and get a hold of an actual person as opposed to being put on hold and then through voicemail to be told I didn't know what I ordered, couldn't identify what was dropped off, and then to be told there is nothing they can do about it. I usually shop local but wanted to save a bit of run around (having 5 young children and not being able to leave them at home to fill my car with supplies, or making half a dozen trips with a van full of kids) and THOUGHT I found somewhere with the materials I required so I did a full large order only to be given the run around, insulted, and STILL not have everything I ordered nor the ONE thing I was hoping to get as advertised being available. I understand that this is difficult times but a large chain should have their stock appropriately advertised, marked, and the routes and processes in place to support their orders. Also, this is clearly 6' long and not 8'.

I ordered an air conditioner bracket online for a clearance priced item and on pick up they gave me the wrong item. There was an issue with the sku number. I called customer service and after a quick investigation they provided me with the proper item at the discounted price which was quite a savings in my favour still. The company loses stars for the improper computer sku but picks up stars because of the service response to rectify the situation.

I don't typically do reviews. However, this is the second time in the last month that I have been disappointed with the service here. The last time we were here, we placed our order at the contractor desk and then pulled into the yard. We waited for a good 20 minutes for someone to help us. There seemed to be nobody and no activity in the building or the yard. Unfortunately the weather was looking dicey (we were getting drywall) and we didn't have a covered trailer. It began to rain, so we had to abandon our project for the day and get a refund in the store. Today, picking up drywall and lumber someone in the yard readily, so things were looking up. Ten 2×4s for a lumber yard should not be a tall request. Only seven available to get at without calling in a forklift driver. Again 20 minutes sitting in the yard waiting. For contractors, time is money. For weekend warriors time is limited. After Cashwsy sold, the ability to service customers has fallen apart Poor organization, communication and availability of product. Two thumbs down...

Recently went to purchase a husqvarna chainsaw at the rental center the guy working there was extremely rude and downright ignorant to us, as I was talking to him about 2 different saws he just stopped talking to me and started to serve a customer who had just walked in and ignored me and carried on for a while with the other customer. Needless to say we went inside to speak to a manager but none was available he had just gone home so no one could help me out. I have shopped there on several occasions but will probably never return . This is a large business and I am sure that one unhappy customer is no big deal to them.
