The guy at the deli counter was my favorite. He handled two particularly needy customers very well before I collected my order of honey ham. We made Small talk unfortunately he had to work the weekend, but he is pleasant enough that I'm sure that he will rise the ladders in the deli world or whatever else he chooses to pursue. I only came here because I needed water, but ended up spending $160 anyways on other things that potentially would have been helpful with camping. Speaking of which, the mosquito diffuser was helpful, but I did feel like my bottom was sore from the price I paid being that it was at the front counter at checkout. Way less sore in the mosquito bites I would have suffered if I didn't buy it. It's a grocery store man, what else do you want me to tell you? 3.8 stars.

We stopped at the IGA grocery supermarket in Golden during our coach tour of the Rocky Mountains of Canada. It is a good place to buy all the essential stuff like fruit, vegetables, meat, milk products at very reasonable prices. We bought some raw fruit and vegetable salads which had been neatly chopped into small mouth sized pieces, and packed in transparent reusable plastic containers which we had later as a picnic lunch at Lake Louise.

Not very impressed with management, as there was a sign on the front doors that masks are mandatory. Was in the store waiting at the til and a customer came in with no mask. I asked him if he knew that it was mandatory to have a mask, and he tells me that he has asthma and he is happy for my concern! Isnt it up to management of the establishment to enforce these rules! This is why this covid 19 is getting out of hand!

Coming from a city this store let me disappointed. My primary issue is there was virtually no vegetarian section in the fridge or freezer. There was literally only 3 items, veggie burgers, veggie dogs and veggie ground round. Big disappointment compared to the 40+ items in every major store (thriftys, save on, etc). I had planned to make chickn Caesar wraps for dinner, had to go with tacos instead. They didn't have old el paso taco sauce either! The store was crowded with poorly placed merchandise. Stacks of items around end caps didn't help getting around. The shelves were not well stocked and not faced, full of holes. It's summer, where are the all the student hires? Didn't see a single person stocking or facing. Shelves looking like that are an embarrassment. As a tourist, I'd drive the extra 5 minutes and go to Overweightea instead. Larger store with better selection.

I was staying in Golden overnight with a few girlfriends on June 24th when the power went out, and all the restaurants, gas stations and grocery stores were closed. We were staying in a hotel and needed to find some food, and the owner of IGA (Cam) came and took our orders in the parking lot for cash. He totally saved us!! He was also super friendly and patient with us and the list of things we wanted. He really went the extra mile, and has convinced me to shop at IGA in the future.

There's nothing really wrong here, but the store feels like it needs modernization. The aisles are pretty cramped and the checkout area is tiny. The staff are fast and efficient, but the store always feels busy. There is a better selection of produce elsewhere in town, particularly for speciality foods. Very handy location down town, and locally owned. Accepts airmiles reward cards.

I spend 5 to 7 days in Golden every year. I stay at Mary's Motel a short 5 min. Walk away. IGA consistency as far as products go its not huge nor wide variety but more than enough choices. As always the staff make up for any lack in products. Ever so helpful, a kind word goes a long way. Small town shopping is always more personable. Thanks for keeping on during these challenging times. So very grateful..

It's been years since I stepped foot into am IGA. This store was well stocked and functional. Maybe a bit aged in motif, but it's open until 10, when Savon up the street closes at 9. I was asked if I wanted bags to put my groceries in, a question I never been asked before when not having reusable bags with me.
