unfortunately, another bad review for Arrelle. Inspector Sylvain came to look at an area where what looked like saw dust was falling through a gap in the basement ceiling. Sylvain was honest, very helpful with his explanations, and had a clear plan of action. He asked me to wipe clean relevant area, and call him as soon as i noticed any more dust accumulation (and, possibly, pests themselves). The inspection was $80 with tax and tip.
For three weeks I left messages with the administrator Annie every two days, but never heard back from anybody. Every time I spoke to Annie she tried to upsell a 'treatment' since, she said, she could see in my file that an inspection was done recently and that a treatment was the next step. She did this without knowing, apparently, that the inspector recommended *against* proceeding with any treatment until we could diagnose the issue.
Finally, after several emails i received a phone call from the owner, Monsieur Arrelle, who was equally persistent about upselling a treatment without having spoken to the inspector who came to my house. He in fact was trying to sell his treatment to me without knowing what the issue was (I suspect that ants, mice, and racoons are not all treated the same way?). I insisted that they communicate and get back to me. When the owner called me back, he finally understood the situation, and offered to send an inspector to follow up and diagnose the issue.
By then I had hired another company, who inspected and diagnosed the issue within minutes: no treatment was necessary, there was no issue with ants or mice. Vibration and human traffic were the cause. The gap was sealed.
