Edit: our issue was resolved after 3 months. After we’d given up, urban nature store called us up, said that they got destroyed with orders this year and are catching up. We’ll at least have the houses for next season, which is pretty much fine since the Schwegler bird houses are made to last decades. We’ll keep ordering from urban nature store, they have the best stuff. Adjusted rating accordingly

They carry good items. The customer service and general attitude of the employees has been a negative experience. We were sent 2 clay birdhouses, packed without anything to cushion them. Obviously, they smashed against each other and fractured in transit.
We sent multiple emails over the course of a week and received no response. After a week or two we called the store.. the employee on the phone told us they probably responded and check our spam folder (we checked, we really had gotten no response).
We finally got a real response some days later, in which the person emailing back tepidly asked whether both were really broken (they are) and for more pictures. We provided these promptly, and have been waiting on their response ever since.
It’s been almost 3 weeks since we initially contacted them. The product was packaged improperly and it feels like we have been rebuffed or avoided at every step of the way trying to get this corrected. My interpretation is the store is trying to make it so difficult to deal with this situation for us that we give up, so they don’t have to correct it.
It’s a shame because we wanted to like this store, they carry great products and fill a real niche. But we have to agree with the other reviews about customer service. Buy at your own risk.
