Under no circumstance place an online order with Rona. I had the bad judgement of ordering online two items for my balcony. After a week I still had not received an email telling me my items were ready for pick up. So I decided to cancel my order. It turns out that the one item I ordered and have since cancelled has been charged to my card 3 times! How do you charge a card for an item that is cancelled? I have tried to get help from the Kingston store but they claim they can't help me. They told me to contact head office. It has taken two days to get a hold of someone at head office, only to be told to send an email to customer service. So my friends my bank account is now short 130.00 and I have no items to show for this. I am also told that the company doesn't know when or if I will get my money back ???????????????? This is sheer bloody theft! So take my warning to heart and do not use Rona for any online ordering! I was told by both the Kingston store and head office that this is an ongoing problem. Well if you can't do things properly then get out of the business. One thing is for sure they have lost this customer for good.!!

Was looking at flooring and ask a sales person about a item. he just said its all right there and pointed at it and walked over to 2 other enpolyees and started chatting. we walked out. At Home Depot the sales guy spent 15 minutes with us and we ended up buying over $2000 worth of flooring.

The store was great. Accommodating sales people and a great appliances department specifically. The delivery of appliances could use some improvement as I had a couple of calls saying the item would be delivered the next day where nothing showed up. Store and delivery company each had to be called on a few occasions to help resolve the issue eventually, but an in-house distribution staff would benefit them greatly as the third-party method leads to a lot of back and forth for the customer.

I love that Rona carries a LOT of Canadian products. Yes, they can sometimes cost more, but I shop the sales and feel really good about buying Canadian. Rona even price matches prices against those other big box stores, so you are always better to shop here. This location in particular provides outstanding customer service (and here's a shoutout to customer service rep Will who really goes the extra mile to be helpful and kind). The reps at the customer service desk were truly positive and professional (what a refreshing change from other stores where we used to get eyerolls and sighs at those customer service desks). Shop here folks - you will be glad you did!

Although I do like shopping there, (my dogs are allowed in so don't have to leave them in the car, which is great) my last few trips there have been disappointing. I went to purchase items that were in inventory online but not there in the store. After noticing clearance items weren't updated as being sold out, for weeks, even after being pointed out, I sent an email to Customer Service. After several more emails back and forth with them and the store, nothing was resolved and most of my emails were ignored. Unfortunately for that store, I don't shop there that often now. Also, unfortunate for them, I'm building a house this year.

I liked I had the possibility for curb pick up of garden soil and such. Everybody else had the same idea, so there was a very long line of cars waiting, and it was a trying time for the workers as the orders were "jambled up". Staff remained friendly anyways and treated people well, despite little hang ups here and there, like a reminder sent to me despite my order had been picked up already, and some items hadn't been available and I had to leave with different items than what I originally ordered.

Went here to get my first load decor white rocks for front house took taxi home don't drive. Had to go back to get 17 more bags only this time got bigger sized stone after guys loaded it in taxi n got all home n I moved bags to my backyard realized Rona gave me wrong size. This was victoria day long weekend on the Fri.. Called them up spoke to manager she managed to get few guys to exchange stones for me on that Fri night which was great as I wanted my yard done the next day. Delivery guys were friendly n fully understood my situation. It all worked out in the end. Moral to this story check skids more carefully to make sure stones are correct size b4 loading them into customers vehicle. Cheers.

Curbside pick up & shopping is not pleasant. Sometimes takes day to get a reply, then the item may be out of stock. If you are patient and wait, they can't find it when you arrive for pick up. Some hardware stores are more organized and much easier to shop at. This would not be my first of second choice to shop until lockdown ends and in-person shopping begins.

You would think with so much local competition, they would want to provide great customer service. Went in to purchase a heavy duty workbench that was in the current flyer. After walking around for 20 mins and being ignored by employees, I finally cornered one. They didn't know where it was, the next guy didn't know where it was, the third guy punched in the computer finally to find it was on a top shelf in an aisle. He went to get the forklift guy and came back in 5 mins saying he couldn't find the guy, did I really want to buy it. In the meantime me wife had picked up about $200.00 in painting supplies. We ended up putting everything back and leaving with nothing. Not to mention it was really hot in the store. I'll not be going back any time soon. Home Depot got my $500+ today.

We ordered and purchased a fridge, stove and dishwasher on September 3rd, it has been 45 days and they have still not contacted us about delivery, when we finally got through to someone at the warehouse they said that they received the fridge from the supplier but it was the wrong fridge and would we like them to re-order our fridge... I can’t even begin to describe my frustration. So it appears that we will have to wait another 3 weeks (making the total wait almost 3 months from the day we purchased these appliances. In addition, my husband has made several phone calls and seems to never get a call back. This review is our last resort to contact someone about our appliances that we purchased almost two months ago, that are still not at our house. Where are they Rona? Please help.

Excellent staff at Rona Kingston. I went in looking for an obscure plumbing part a "heat guard" for a Moen shower tap. They were stumped, probably because I was describing it so poorly, I'm a hack DIYer. While salesperson Mars started searching it online, salesperson Joe and I walked into the plumbing parts area to see what we could find. We were about to give up when Mars came down the isle and said she'd found it at Lowes down the road. She had phoned them and got the sku number for me. I was back in business. Thanks Mars and Joe!

While no longer Canadian, despite the fact that they still have this messaging plastered all over their marketing, RONA is a bit of an enigma! they do offer a unique set of products however since their acquisition by Lowe's, they are starting to look like Lowe's Jr. The staff at this particular store are courteous and friendly and most are knowledgeable. Plumbing and electrical are two areas that come to mind with excellent staff. However, they lag behind in customer service. While the staff is friendly, they are equally frustrated by the company's antiquated computer system and poor invoice management system. Stock has been better than in the past, as this was a common problem prior to the Lowe's purchase. Cleanliness 4/5 Helpful Staff 4/5 Pricing 4/5

My housemate and I went in to get materials for an indoor herb garden and got excellent service from eight staff members in various departments. I was worried my housemate and I would have a lot of difficulty due to the fact that we were building the garden from scratch and had made our own design. Several of these staff members were interested in the design and went through it with us to ensure that it would work and we would have the materials we needed at an affordable price. Definitely going back for all of my hardware, home, and garden needs.

Just a massive Thank you to Brian, Amber and Taylor at the Rona on Princess in Kingston. I came in to return the Moen faucet that my Mom was replacing in her kitchen. Unfortunately, I didn't have a. receipt but I did have my bank statement. Brian checked that all the parts were there. I'm sure he saw the dishevelled look on my face of a guy going through renovations confirmed it was there and then told me to go find a replacement faucet. I did that. picked up a new faucet took it to the customer service counter and lickety-split I was rushing back home to fix my Mom's faucet. You may think it's a small thing Rona customer service counter. but the no-hassle way I have treated means a lot to me. Excellent service, can not commend your service. My Mom would have melted down completely. Thank you very much

Normally this is my favorite store to shop in however I was very disappointed in my last visit on July 27, evening. While shopping I was a approached by a young gentleman, who's mask clearly did not fit as it hung far below his nose, almost to his chin, while he procceeded to pull it up, it instantly fell down his face again. Upon leaving the store I again saw this young man assisting one of the managers I believe load a bbq in a seniors couple car . The entire time his mask again was far below where it should be. I was dissapointed to watch and listen only to have the young man walk away and nothing was said to him about his face covering and the lack of wearing it properly. The fact that we have been wearing these for over a year , first of all it is unacceptable that people still have to be told how to wear their masks.Secondly, the other disappointing part is that a place of business allows their employees to represent the company in this manner. If your staff can not properly wear the required PPE they should not be at work. At the very least the manager/ supervisor should have correct this young man before he assisted with loading the merchandise. I watched him walk away back to the garden center with his mask hanging off his face. Very dissappointed in Rona Kingston

Went to purchase two doors and a propane hot water tank. No one to help and when we did find someone they told me to go find a cart. The guy in the plumbing section almost sold me a natural gas tank and not a propane one. Horrible staff who don't know the products and are not willing to help. I had to get smoke detectors and was told to go down where a customer was standing and they were somewhere in that section. Asked for manager to complain about the service and the manager just said ok. Will never shop there again. Terrible terrible service.

I had one of my kitchen drawers broken and went to the Kingston Rona lumbering Department for advice on how best I could fix it. After talking to the guy in charge of the lumber cutting, he gladly and willingly accepted to repair the drawer and asked me to dropped it with him and that he will call me once it is ready. So glad I had a call this afternoon to pick up the drawer and to my utmost joy and surprise, the Store Manager said, you will not be charged for the repairs and thus, my motivation to leave this review. I am so happy and touched by the kind gesture and customer service of the Rona Kingston team and I am so much grateful. The way to go in support of the community!

We had an awful experience ordering from this store. We placed an order for all new kitchen appliances and a dryer back in February when we bought a new home to renovate. Knowing that the pandemic has caused delays they were the first thing we bought for the house and were told it would be 2-3 weeks for the items to be delivered as we ensured we ordered in stock items from the ware house. 3 weeks later the dryer, and fridge arrive and we were told the dishwasher and stove would be an additional 3 weeks. This puts us to the middle of March when the dishwasher arrives with a second dryer. We were at work for the delivery so only found out when we got home. We called Rona and found out the person who took our order over the phone in Feb ordered two dryers and not stove. At this point the stove was on back order and it would be another month. This was frustrating but not a big deal as we didn't need it until May when we were installing the kitchen. It is now June and every 2 weeks when we call to check on the status of the stove we are told it will be another two weeks, that the warehouse just received the shipment and it would be out for delivery next week. If it was just back order due to the pandemic we would understand but it was the stores error that has caused us this stress and now we will be moving into a house with no stove and no idea when it will arrive! Let's just home the quartz counters they installed based on the sites dimensions of the stove isn't too big since we didn't have to stove installed when the workers came to measure it. I want to note the staff have been pleasant to deal with but it's just so frustrating having one person's error be so stressful and not once were we offered another comperable product that was in stock that might arrive sooner.

I usually have a good experience at this Rona but I recently purchased a bunch of treated 4X4s online for delivery and they were all seriously twisted - to the point of being unusable. It is clear that they use their online service to offload all the substandard wood that the in-store customers pass over. I complained to their customer service email…..crickets. In my last two visits to Rona's Home & Garden, I experienced exceptional customer service. In my most recent visit, I was there to find some sand to spread over ice on my sidewalk. I could see all kinds of salt but no sand. I asked the customer service people at the east end of the store and they directed me to the west end of the store. After walking to the west end and talking to a couple of staff, they identified a pile of sand bags at a very good price of $7 each. The only difficulty was the weight which looked to me to be around 50 pounds. I stood there puzzling how to move it when one of the female staff simply picked up a bag, carried it over to the cash register and deposited it on the desk. I was very impressed with her strength and the ease with which she moved it. After paying for the bag, I wrestled it on to a cart, wheeled it out of store and back to my Toyota Highlander. With a final effort, I got the bag out of the cart and into the back of my vehicle. The previous event was when I came to store looking for Stanley sash adjusters. I knew they had been declared obsolete but thought there might still be a stash of them in the store. The young man did his best to find some in the store but was unsuccessful. I appreciated his effort. I would observe these two examples of excellent customer service were reflective of all of my previous visits to this Rona store since it opened 10-20 years ago.

I needed to go into the store today to find out about purchasing a door for my new home. I had already visited a store specializing in this need, and came away with more questions and no solutions. I decided to try Rona, and asked a certain employee for help. He answered all my questions, offered suggestions, and helped me finally order a door that was exactly what I had envisioned. Bissell carpet cleaner rental. 1st machine had caked on mud, now on my carpets and have to scrub by hand to get clean. 2nd machine was broken and shooting water out the top. 3rd machine offered to me was dirty with caked on dirt and debre. They are all still in the rental bin.Manager Pierre gave me an 800 number to call Bissell. This was such a big help, not! Really look at these machines before u take them home and stain your carpets.

I had hoped that the Rona/Lowe’s assimilation would have made them more competitive with HD, but there’s still some catching up to do. That being said, they have an excellent selection of hardware (they compete on that), and I really like their displays for hinges, eyelets etc. The layouts make it less confusing to find what you need. And of course, as a big box store they have scads of other stuff too! And like all the big stores they have some things that might be similar but offer better options for whatever it is that you need to accomplish. So if you can’t find that exact something you need elsewhere, check them out. And as a contractor the Rona VIPPro discounts don’t hurt either!

I understand that we are living under the covid19 time line, I order one thing from this store on line that was April 28 2020, I will not be able to pick it up until May the 5 2020, this is ridiculous, one thing , not 100 things. Why does the store not hire more people, because it was one thing there is no reason that I could not have picked it up the next day. In the grocery store they have a line for 10 items or less, why, because it works. I am certain not happy with Rona. You can't phone and talk to someone live, poor customer service. Just remember what sunk the great Sears company, very very poor customer service, just remember that. I might be only one customer, but if millions think like me, your doomed.

Surprisingly helpful. I needed a specific type of product and was referred to three specialty building supply shops who came up empty handed. I went here and they had multiple options right away. Normally I haven't had too much success with Rona but these guys were really checked out. I found a few things more expensive than competitors but the staff were fast and helpful. I ended up making my purchase here and plan to go back.

Tried curbside pick up. Waited and waited and waited watched everyone come and go multiple times tried to ask a staff and was told over a half hour was normal when everyone else was 2 minutes another ten minutes and someone else came to ask my order number again. This Rona is by far the best home improvement store in kingston. While the front end staff (cashiers) could use more training with their customer service (many are young and seem very rude) the department staff and managers as well as the store managers are so amazing that they make up for it. I have been shopping in this store regularly since it opened and will continue to be a loyal customer. If you have the opportunity to have the manager Shannon help you, take it! She has experience in most of the store departments and will always go above and beyond to provide an amazing customer experience.

The only thing I found there a little shy on was medicine cabinets. They don't have a lot. If you're looking for a new bathroom vanity that's a place to go. The prices are very reasonable. I just love Rona. I hear they were bought out by Lowe's, and don't worry they're not closing down. Not that Kingston branch. And right now that have a great sale on outside Christmas decor. When I was there last week it was 25% off. Great staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Very good prices. Wonderful place to buy your plants in the spring as well.

Was at the Kingston store at 11:00 am today to purchase 5 - 1"x4"x8' and 2- 2"x4"x8' the blond girl at the desk miss counted the 1"x4"x8' and charged us for 6 instead of 5 which we noticed when we got our receipt so we asked for a refund but was told nothing she could do and was directed to go stand in a large line at customer service because one of your employees could not count 5 boards, this is a flawed system and needs to be addressed, because of the small amount of money we did not waste out morning waiting in a line to resolve something that wasn't our fault the young blond girl should have made some effort to resolve this. Have been going to that store for years and now I will have to shop elsewhere and tell everyone I know about this just on principle

Absolutely no interest in rewarding loyalty. Shopped there for many renovation projects, refused to acknowledge this or look up my past purchases over $10 value returns without receipt. Unlike other similar stores such as Lowes, they are unable to put back refunds on credit card or review credit card purchases which significantly limits customer satisfaction. Generally limited knowledge of staff compared to other stores (no staff were able to give me information on railing installation for over 30 minutes), however the flooring staff were very helpful, knowledgeable and kind. Overall, I am going to Lowe/home depot exclusively as have had much better experiences there.

Concerned staff were dismissed by others when loading bagged soil into my trunk. I believed the situation was resolved but it was not. Ahmed (I think was his name) in Kingston was concerned, and right. He was led to believe others to just sub something else and I was loaded. Discipline is not working, but I want to compliment the guy who actually tried. My plants will live a different life because I can't deal with fixing the Covid bad lines and bad results at the end. Sorry Rona, service needs to be right.

Use this store when I don't feel like going to Home Depot. During my visit today I asked an associate who had just help me in the paint depareltment where were the face mask. He told me he didn't know. Must be new, I thought he would tell me or show me where they were. Instead he attempted to find there location on the computer. Five minutes later going from screen to screen the search ended by him saying, I don't know, they should be in the paint department.

They could really clean up the entrances/exits. They're very cluttered and that makes it difficult to get larger sheets of plywood and drywall out

Online ordering and pickup has improved alot since I used the option last year. I also purchased a snowblower in store and needed it held for a few days which was no problem. Seperate purchases and no issues picking up both at the same time. All the employees I dealt with were very friendly and helpful, and they were able to help me test and load my snowblower too.
