Worst service quality, no puntuality, Inexperienced staff, extremely slow, you can bring better solution then them. They have their own pace. If you have some pest related issue, consider it will be assesd in a month after you complain. They are that slow that you will resolve the issue on you own because of suffering and for the sake of your family. We live on Kimberlay street. Our appartment gave order to Poulin's. Order was send to Polin's on 23 dec, since then it has been 2 weeks and they have visited twice just to tell us they will come next week. Surprise is the representative is doing nothing. Looks like they are making money by just visiting and passing time. I have never seen that dumb professionals in winnipeg. We have taken some steps on our own due to which we are able to stay at that place otherwise it was one day when we were thinking about calling police because we had caught 62 mices in our suit.

I phoned them for the second time in a few years and, once again, they said I'd have to wait for 2 to 3 weeks. I phoned someone else and they were able to help me within an hour. Poulins would have charged me $199 and the company that's doing the job is $85. I'll never call Poulins again.

They will only put poison out even though I have a cat who will eat the mice, cost effective isn’t always best.... I asked that there be no poison involved and they said it’s the only way cost effective way. But it’s not the only way? They also tried to convince me that the poison is only deadly to the mice, so if I ate the Poison I’d be okay?

This sort of company needs a different way of evaluating. The loss of the one star is unfair to them really. As a subjective evaluation I was disappointed that it took 10 days to get an exterminator out, that was the only problem and is not really their fault, and the final result will not be obvious for several days. Anyhow, I have a large underground wasp nest in my flower bed. I was not too badly stung when I discovered it, but I don't dare try to work in that area of the yard until it is dealt with. I tried a commercial DIY wasp bomb to little effect. Although it did make them mad. The main nest is well separated fron the entrances and the kill on contact poisons do not penetrate to the nest itself. Poulins has a powder based poison that they spread around the entrances so that the wasps drag it through the nest, but it takes several days to take effect. You can buy the material yourself from them, but they have better applicators, and I have not needed to resort to such treatments in over 20 years so I just paid them to come do the job. Once here the guy was friendly, efficient and pretty thorough. He checked out a couple of other areas I was concerned about and did a very good job. I have been monitoring the nest and seen a decline in activity. Yesterday I used a stick (a nice LONG stick) and gave the ground a good thumping but only 3 wasps came out to investigate and did not fly far in their search. Last week it was tens of sentries and they even attacked my wife standing over 3 meters away. There is still a week to go on the original wait time, but the exterminator said if there was still activity by Wed to call to schedule a follow up, included in original charge, as they would probably need a second application. Ok, time has passed. The little so and so's dug a new entrance and avoided the initial application.The nest seemed to be recovering but Poulins came back at no charge and laid down new applications of the powder. About 8 days later I tried hitting the wall with a shovel and nothing came after me. Looks like the nest is dead.

Very disappointed with the service. I'm constantly calling to see when they could come exterminate a home in Brandon. Had to live 2 extra weeks with bed bugs. After doing treatment on July 17th, this company is supposed to come back to exterminate for bed bug eggs 10 days after 1st application. As of right now I'm still waiting for the 2nd application. I called Poulins to see when they're to come and do the 2nd application and the manager goes on vacation. Not sure when he'll return to do 2nd application and now I have a family with 3 kids and a 4 month old living in this house with clothes on their back only because they were told by poulins not to open they're clean clothes in bags until applications are complete. Not impressed.
The man came to our house and put mouse poison in traps both outside and in. He explained how to poison works and pointed out the places the mice were getting in the house. I appreciated his thoroughness.

The guy that came to my place to spray for bugs said everything was good. And then sends a report to my landlord saying we didn't do everything that we could to get ready. We followed their list to get ready. So because they lied to my landlord and us, our landlord is refusing to spray the second time needed. I've lived with these bugs for about 6 months now. Poulins is useless. They just lie and take your money but do nothing to help you.

Terrible service, upon re-entering my home there was broken glass all over my floor, as long as other belongings of mine being broken including a guitar which had been taken from its stand and left on the floor with a busted neck.Lap top had been tampered with. and a gaming headset with the ear-pieces busted off. Poulins refused to take responsibility claiming it wasn't their fault. If you want proper customer service this is not the place you will get it. They were disrespectful, immature and unprofessional.

Our apartment had cockroaches, luckily my suite did not! It was a mess in my building but I think they are gone for good! (*update, over a week later and still no roaches!*) I had a few complications which would interrupt the scheduled service time and type, so I had called Kevin from Poulins on a number of occasions and he was so friendly, so knowledgeable and took the time to talk to me and answer my questions. It's hard to find good service nowadays but he really listened and explained and presented some alternatives that worked for us, very accommodating!
Super helpful, good advice and great products and value. We moved into a new house in December 2018 and discovered an ant infestation almost immediately. After trying baits from a home improvement store and seeing no results within a couple weeks, we paid a visit to Poulin's. The woman at Poulin's was easily able to ID our mystery ants from a clear photo of one with a millimeter ruler for scale. Our issue was carpenter ants and their presence indoors in the winter, complete with swarmers, meant the nest was inside. We were guided to a few different products and given pros and cons of each. We chose the slower method of a professional strength ant bait gel since we weren't positive of the exact nest location (making sprays and powders trickier). We looked up the product online and found it available elsewhere at a similar or higher price so we were happy with the value. The gel bait worked amazingly. The first two nights had dozens of ants going back and forth to the baits, taking lots of bait back to kill the nest. Over the next while we saw fewer and fewer ants until now, a week later, we haven't seen a live ant in over 24 hours. The instructions state to ensure bait is available for 14 days so we will be providing a bit more fresh bait to make sure. We were given additional advice to follow in the spring. We will be back to pick up the perimeter treatments to prevent the ants from returning. After all of our stress and worry over this ant issue it has been a real pleasure to sleep without the fear of ants. Thank you Poulin's!

I called to see if they service outside of Winnipeg, which they do. They took my information and I was told I would get a call back from the person that looks after my area. It's been 6 days & I still haven't received a call back from Poulin's. I called another exterminator company & they looked after my problem within 24 hours of my call.
Amazing experience with this company
They resolved our issues after multiple visits. The duration was longer than expected and we had a different person each time we had to explain everything to each time that was a bit frustrating. A friend from another city recommended and his experience was good, ours was average to below expectations. Shoba or something similar (can't recall) came by last and we thought she was better than the previous ones. She looked for entry points outside to correct but the first two didn't and that was a surprise to her, not sure if that means the workers range in quality.

This company is very unprofessional. My apartment had severe cricket problem last year. (You cannot believe it - 128 crickets found in my apartment, on a second floor, within two months). The actual problem was the bugs were nesting in the crawl space. However, they did not bother to check the crawl space, and just came and sprayed my and my neighbors' apartments twice, which only cause serious allergy problem, but still not solve the problem. Until my neighbors and I strongly suggested them to check the crawl space, they finally investigated and sprayed the right area. This time, without a third spray to our apartments (only because I refused), my neighbors and I had a peace finally. I felt this company only cared to make money out of performing some work, but never mind to figure out the correct solutions. The longer the problem stays, the more money they would make. I do not trust to hire them for my own home for sure.

I am very disappointment with the service and their miscommunication. I was mediator for my relatives. I asked the charge for to treating my relatives basement. that time they give me price for 2 treatments. came 1st time, did the treatment and then said we will come to examine in a week that treatment worked or not, they came and checked (didn't charge anything) and then said you need another treatment. I said OK for next one. they came and did the second treatment. and said same thing that will come and examine for that treatment worked or not.(this time they charge me $100 extra) and they said we are normally charging that much for examination. I am like why didn't you charged me after first one and why you are changing this time? they said oh it was supposed to be your 3rd treatment appointment. I am like you are calling me for after treatment examination and just making up as 3rd treatment. and person came my relative didn't allow them to do treatment so they just examined the house and charged $100. ( this appointment was just for follow up examination after 2nd treatment) On top of that receptionist told me that, (when I asked that you charged extra without letting me know)...she said" well its same like you go to restaurant and ask for something and they charge you without letting you know" I am surprised and replied that in restaurant its only mater of couple dollars and this is $100 bucks , not a small amount. they got ready to give me $100 credit on my third treatment, but my relatives don't want to do the 3rd treatment. so I asked them to give my money back. they said no. So I am very disappointed they overcharged $100 without letting us know. We lost $100, and lots of time to explain to get my money back. so people be careful. I am very disappointed and mad with their service.
Almost impossible to make appointments with. You call there and they tell you they will call you back with a time, but then they don't. Then you call them again after a week goes by and they say the same thing. Another week goes by and you call again and they finally schedule a time to deal with your pest problem. Then the the day of the appointment they call and leave a message canceling and do not give you a rescheduled time. When you have pests that need dealt with no one wants to wait upwards of 3 weeks. Very poor business model and customer service, will never use again.

A friend needed help taking some beds and other items to Poulin's to get his items treated for bed bugs. They have an onsite facility to treat large items. That is helpful if you ever need to get it done.
AWFUL experience. I rent an expensive condo in Osborne Village. My building had a bed bug infestation. As part of the response plan, the building management called Poulin's to treat the problem. The building management let them in without my presence, during which time, Poulin's turned my apartment upside down. They threw my mattress on the floor and stepped all over it, without bothering to put it back. My living room looked like a disaster. Books were removed from the shelves and thrown all over the floor, the covers damaged, pages torn out. Why was that necessary? When I called to complain, they said it's not their problem. They were so incredibly, unbelievably, mind-blowingly rude. These people are worse than bed bugs or any other pest. Do yourselves a favour and avoid this awful business.

I booked an appointment 2 weeks ago because they said it's busy season and I had to wait that long. ( that's fine) Was booked to show up between 1pm and 5pm on Tuesday. Called at 5pm for an update since there was a no show, the lady mentioned there was no booking and didn't apologize or anything. I said to her okay, not sure why there isn't I will book somewhere else. She said thanks for calling. Disorganized and poor service level.

I came in to their store and was helped right away by a knowledgeable employee. I was directed to use a certain product for the WASP problem that I had at home and it rectified the problem and I have no more issues with wasps within 24 hours of using the product
EDITED: After the below happened they sent by the same two individuals with a supervisor and did treat the area without incurring any additional charges. The original experience was negative but their response was helpful. ORIGINAL POST: They came by to treat insects in the facia (just above the gutters) and charged for the inspection because they weren't able to see any activity. After I paid the 100$ inspection fee I found out from a neighbor that their ladder wasn't even tall enough to see into the hole in the facia, which they conveniently failed to inform me when they charged me. Overall, they were misleading and unprofessional, I am disappointed in the service.
When I think of customer service, a prime example of what not to do can easily be found in interacting with the manager of this location. In addition to being vague and rude, Duncan is condescending and surprisingly doesn’t seem to care. It’s almost as if he knows he’s rude and feels justified in being so unhelpful. I wonder if working at Poulin’s is just hell or if he’s just a miserable person. I suppose it’s the chicken and egg thing. Did Poulin’s eat his soul or will he eat Poulin’s soul by scaring away clients. I like to hope his attitude is because I’m a tenant in a building that employs his company and that his actual paying customers don’t get such remarkably poor treatment. I can say for certain I will never chose to use Poulin’s and will look for service providers who don’t act like it’s an inconvenience telling me WHAT they may actually do inside my home.
They did two hard to access wasp nest 20' up behind brick, and at the peak of the roof. Very good job, the wasps never came back. Will definatally use them again should we have wasp issues again!

I called, no answer. Left a message explaining that we had a wasp nest under our deck and a family member who is allergic being held hostage in the house. They never returned my call. Same results at three of the four pest control companies who advertised wasp control. So disappointing.

The person who came to treat for ants was very helpful and provided tons of other good information related to the different issue we had with our yard. My ants problem in my yard is under control. The only reason I am not rating higher was that after the initial phone call to try to get a quote and the later phone call to book the treatment, it was very unclear as to when they would actually come do the work. They were supposed to call me back to tell me when they will do the work but I had to call back over two weeks later to prompt for more information about the scheduling and I was told then that someone will come to my house right now. There needs to be some great improvement on how they handle their scheduling and dissemination of that information.

They never contacted us about follow up procedure after they treated our place, and then forgot to write down the follow up appointment they told us they would schedule. As such, our bugs laid new eggs and we are required to have another full course of treatment and pay them for the extra treatment which was only necessary due to them forgetting to write down the original appointment. They 'forgot' so now we're out a couple hundred dollars and my girl has an extra week of waking up covered in bug bites.

Tried to schedule an appointment and instead of being helpful, the customer service person just wanted to "make sure we were going to pay." So, after thinking about how rude that was, I canceled the appointment and went somewhere else.

Ineffective and overpriced. Was quoted one price, billed much higher than expected. Used this company for mice prevention and control. After paying over $1200 for 6 months "services", the problem is actually getting worse. No reporting, no prevention, they just keep rebaiting and charging more and more each time. Do not recommend.

I called the 24hr emergency line about a skunk issue at my house on Sunday March 9 2014 and the lady who answered advised me if I wanted someone out right away it would cost me $149 per hour OR I could go onto the next morning call back list for 9am. I chose the call back option for Monday morning and sure enough 9am came and went, no call. Noon hour came and went, still no call. Finally at 2pm, I had to be the one to call back and find out what was going on. I spoke to a girl named Lisa who told me that my request had been whited out as they couldn't read the information sent to the Winnipeg office so no one bothered to call me back. My advice to anyone is to STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY! They lack any accountability towards their employee's mistakes. Don't just take my word for it, read the other forums on this company and you will see that I am not the only one who is disgusted by their ways of business. Go with another company who will actually follow through with what they say they are going to do. No foolin with Poulins my ASS!! The only fool here is anyone who accepts this backwards mentality company's service.

I had a wasps nest inside my house in a very tricky spot. I called at noon. Clay was at my house in an hour and had the wasps nest removed in half an hour and all vacuumed up. No wasps got out in my house and he recommended different spots outside my house i should seal up. Would absolutely use Poulins again.

They sent out a technition then when he arrived he informed me they didn't have the bait I requested and tried to sell me a trap instead then want 100 dollars for the service call very disappointed
