A squirrel was living in my attic so I called these guys. A technician came by and set up a trap on Wednesday. I checked the trap on Saturday morning and it contained the squirrel, so I called the office. Nobody answered, so I left a message. Nobody called me back so I called them a few more times. I then tried the emergency after hours number, but nobody answered that, either. This was Saturday afternoon. This business is supposed to be open on Saturdays. I had to get rid of the squirrel myself. When Monday rolled around, they finally returned my call, and told me I should have called the emergency after hours number. Not impressed.

My experience with Local pest control has been incredible every time. My first call was handled with consideration, my first inspection was done by a very kind gentleman, and the actual job was completed in record time and with thoughtful consideration yet again. Robbie, Mark and Rollande were all so incredible! My job was a sensitive one as it was to clear a loved ones home of hoarding, they made me feel comfortable considering how uncomfortable the circumstance of the apartment were. I’d hire them again in a heartbeat and would recommend them to anyone and it is very difficult to find a team that will do the type of job we required of them. This has been such a weight in my life and to have it removed makes me very very happy and grateful to the Local pest control.

Chris called me back without me even leaving a message to check in soon after. He got me to text some pictures along, and soon relieved me that I shouldn't be concerned. Buy some traps, do it yourself, or ask a friend. These guys are a waste of time and money. At least for residential services. Paid $500 they came in - agreed that we likely had rodents - set some traps in easy to reach locations and left. I asked multiple times for the professionals to go into the attic and help as the rodent was above our heads. Eventually after being told the technicians didn’t want to go up into the attic - I went up myself and set traps and block off passage ways. I caught my mouse with no help from Local Pest Control. I paid you for a pest removal service specifically for a mouse in my attic - if you don’t want to go up into the attic - then you should provide a refund and be upfront about your limited residential service. UPDATE: The owner quickly responds to poor reviews - that is a positive - but please speak to your technicians. The ones that were sent our way were not much help compared to other pest services I’ve had in the past. If I could get up there and take care of the problem - your professionals should have been able too.

I started off with a great first impression of this company. They seemed helpful and friendly in most interactions. Unfortunately that is the depth of their positives from our experience. We started off with a fairly basic situation but due to Localpest's lack of willingness to ask questions and target their interventions, we ended up having 4 months of an issue that I was repeatedly told should have been resolved in 1. We did so much of our own research that it quickly became apparent the longer we had to communicate with members of localpest that we were seemingly more knowledgeable about the issues than the technicians coming in to do the work. In conjunction to this one of the technicians informed me that the product they were using on our first 2 treatments may have been ineffective due to mishandling of the temperature of their storage facility. The management team declined to fully acknowledge their missteps and after so many failed attempts to treat our issue the company convinced me it must be coming from neighbors. After some awkward conversations and assessments to neighboring units turns out this was not the case. Localpest might mean well but I would save you money, time, and stress and use a different company. I switched to Raincity pest control a local business that has decades of experience in this area and had my issues resolved after one treatment visit. Enough said

Called them for a birds nest in my roof. The technician's name was Jamie and he was very friendly. Jamie first went up to inspect the roof and confirmed the nest. There were no eggs and he informed me that the bird was making a nest through a gap under the roof. Jamie checked to see the type of bird before proceeding with the removal to ensure that it was not a protected species. After confirming it was not, he proceeds with the nest removal. I was surprised by the amount of twigs that the bird accumulated. Jamie removed all of it and closed the gap under the roof. He informed me that it was common for my style of ceiling to shift downwards and create an opening for pests and to keep a close eye on in case ot shifts down again.He also gave me some.tips on what signs to look for if there are pests living on my property. Definitely recommend this company. Friendly and informative staff.

We worked with Theresa to schedule an appointment. Not only was it fast and easy, but she sent documentation, information about the pesticide and spent a ton of time educating us about options. When Chris came to do an inspection he spent time with us and looked through the entire 5 suite house. When we found no evidence of poop, or skins he suggested not doing a treatment, even though we would have done so immediately with him. This is an honest guy and an honest business. That’s a huge, huge piece. If we need help again, this is the first guy i will go to.

This pest control company is underhanded. Today their technicians were releasing skunks at my local park only 100 yards from my apartment. Instead of removing pests from the neighbourhoods of Vancouver they simply relocate them to places where they can become an infestation again, essentially just creating more business for themselves by moving the skunks to another home. When I called to let the company know what their technicians had done they told rudely told me this is what they always do and it's their standard practice. Dogs get skunked in our neighbourhood all the time and now we know why. Don't support this company. Pick another one that actually cares about our community and is doing quality work.

I would use a different company if I have problems in future. I paid around $200 for a bed bug treatment (it includes two treatments). The follow-up treatment did not look thorough, none of my furniture appeared to be moved (the bed/mattress wasn't lifted up or moved out). The bugs came back. When I called to use the warranty, I was told the cheapest option I bought (just couch/bed) does not have a warranty because "it doesn't work" - why sell this option then? I paid $100 to upgrade to treating full house. I would have rather paid $300 to have the full house treated in the first place and then that would have come with a second visit to catch any eggs that hatch later. The entire process of cleaning, bagging and laundering everything in the house is exhausting and I went through that the first two times for nothing. Luckily the third visit seems to have worked.

Chris was so great when we called in a panic suspecting a few bugs we found could be bed bugs. We asked for a bed bug dog but Chris advised us to send him some photos of the bugs first to confirm and save us a load of money. After texting him some photos, Chris texted right back and gave us some alternatives to what the bugs could be. He was thorough, considerate and polite. My family was discouraged to find out that we had a mice problem, shortly after moving into our brand new home. Our strata management got in contact with Local Group for an inspection. My colleague and I had a scare with some second-hand materials we bought online; since we were unsure if the bugs/stains were specifically bedbugs and could not machine dry it on high heat (as they suggested on the phone) because of the materials' size, their staff kindly suggested we brought them over (explaining how to be careful w car transportation) to avoid charges in case they weren't actually bedbugs. Chris, one of their technicians checked (luckily no bedbugs!). Overall would recommend!!

I had complete confidence in this company until the heat treatment damaged the Venetian blinds in my kitchen, replacements costing $212.83. Accidents happen and the manager assured me that the issue would be resolved. After two weeks, nobody contacted me. I called to book my third and final treatment. For reasons unknown, the manager had to approve my request. It took a further three telephone calls to confirm the date. I spent the weekend prepping my house for the treatment. The technician who had performed the first chemical treatment arrived. He refused to acknowledge the presence of bed bugs on the floor, surfaces, textiles or even the fresh bites on me, claimed he was not trained to recognize bed bug activity nor was he licensed to treat infestations and promptly left. I had to endure this textbook example of gaslighting because I had the nerve to complain about damage they caused to my kitchen blinds. They offered to cover the cost of replacing the blinds as long as I did not seek treatment from them again. This company is a scam. Avoid at all costs.

The thought of bed bugs is enough to make my skin crawl. I spoke at length with Chris about potential bed bugs at my mom’s house and he was so helpful! He asked some questions and then guided me to the website to do a mattress and bedframe inspection. I felt like he went out of his way to help me and I really appreciated his calming demeanor. He laid out several different options and because the chances of bed bugs was low, that if/when we found any bugs during our inspection, I could text him a photo and we could figure out a plan from there. I had a minor meltdown thinking I had bed bugs. I had about four random "bites" over the course of a few days. I tore my bed apart and found no sign of bed bugs anywhere. I cleaned and used a Doktor Doom spray, but was still very nervous so I called Local Pest Control to get some info (the internet is not always your friend in these situations). I spoke to Chris and he was so calm and helpful. He asked thoughtful questions when I gave him my rundown of what had been happening and what I was doing to make it stop. In the course of our phone call he sent me a link to their blog, "If It's Not Bed Bugs What is It?" and it turns out I have carpet beetles!!! I had found one of them on me earlier that same morning. Sweet relief!!! I'm continuing the deep clean but feel so relieved to know it's not bed bugs and that Chris fully talked me off the ledge. Hopefully I will never need their services again, but if I do I won't hesitate to call them!

I had a recent scare with bed bugs. I emailed Chris and he responded within minutes and had Jamie (technician) at my house the next morning. Jamie spent over an hour systematically checking my room. He was polite, knowledgeable and helped calm me. That evening I caught what I thought may be a bed bug. I emailed a pic to Chris and he responded saying he couldn’t tell what the bug was but would have another inspection done the following day free of charge. Rob the tech spent another hour plus very carefully inspecting my room to find nothing. Rob was also polite, helpful and calm. If you do have an issue with pest do not hesitate to call Chris and his team they are the best!

We noticed a wasps nest, called and this company sent Robbie out the same day. The nest was deep and needed a 2nd, stronger dose a few days later. I called in the morning and that same afternoon, Simon was here. It's so nice to get same day service when you've got wasps swarming around your outdoor space! In addition to being prompt, they really stands by their work. Both Robbie and Simon were great and told me to keep an eye on the area and give them a call if I noticed more activity. Have a family of skunks living under our deck. We were told that the $400 fee would cover ask skunks. After one was caught we were basically held ransom saying that they would not keep their traps in place unless we paid an extra $175 per skunk. I would advise looking elsewhere for your pest control needs.

I have an Ant problem in my suite, and while trying to determine what type of ant, what the potential issues could be happening while being such a stressful situation, I reached out to a couple different pest control places and when I called Local Pest Control, Ray answered. He was instantly friendly, reassuring, he advised he was on call but directed me to send him pics of the ants (as I mentioned having some) and that he'd get back to me. I did just that. He didn't disappoint. I'm an incredibly thorough person and asked soooo many questions days on end he didn't miss a beat. I went from knowing absolutely nothing about this insect or the different possibilities of damages, issues, treatments etc. He took the time completely to work with me. Later I found out that the ants are in my complex building so strata is using their own contracted pest control. However, if there is a time (hopefully not) that I'd need to contract pest control outside of my strata, Local Pest Control would be my very first call. Ray was so awesome and had his boss (owner) confirm specific items who reached out to me with a very honest and transparent response. Although I didn't end up utilizing their services the FACT they gave so much to me with NO strings attached, says so much about this business and the individual people I dealt with. What a great experience. This is the way all businesses should be run.

The main reason I'm leaving a review now is because of their technician Josh. He came to do what (theoretically) should be our last treatment yesterday. He was so so awesome! He took the time to really listen to what we had to share about where we thought they were coming from, had some great insights into our space, and was super patient throughout. When we came back, it was clear he'd done an incredibly thorough job. If you're reading this, I highly encourage you to request to work with Josh. He's cares about doing a great job, and seems to be an awesome human being. Local Pest Control - you guys should give him a raise.

We recently hired Local when faced with an extreme hoarding + bedbug situation in one of the units in our building. After an initial inspection they listened to our concerns, discussed our options and then came to us with a plan. After the initial heat treatment and trauma-clean, they began with a variety of treatments that included heat, fumigation as well as spraying both the infested unit and surrounding units. The infestation was so bad, eventually they drilled small holes into the drywall and sprayed the interior. Because of the EXTREME bedbug infestation, it took several treatments but Local guarantees their work and did not stop until the job was done. Both office personnel and the on-site crew were honest and easy to communicate with. They answered our every email, all our questions, and dealt with concerned and sometimes difficult residents, both weekdays and weekends. This was an extraordinary situation but Local kept at it when some companies would have walked away. We are happy to report that we have been bug free for 5 months now and we have Local to thank.

I had some mice issues and decided to call Local Pest control based of their outstanding reviews. Boy, was I ever glad I did. I laid some of my own traps down but wanted a professional to inspect my house for mouse activity and to also lay down more traps. Chris the owner accommodated my schedule and came on a Sunday. After a walk through, he was very honest and said there was nothing more he could do because of the work I’ve already done. He gave me some advice on how to prevent the mice from coming back. I offered to pay for his time but he declined. The honesty and professionalism of Chris is why the company came highly recommended. If I ever have pest issues, he will be the first person I call.

Anthony in customer service was quick to reply to my emails, and Robbie the technician was very through in his search of the house. I recently contact Local Pest Control as I had a come across a number of large spiders in my home and I am incredibly afraid of spiders. I spoke with a woman named Denise and she was incredibly helpful and informative and very nice. She immediately arranged for a technician to come to our home to . Our technician, Michael, arrived on time and was very professional. Michael did a thorough job spraying our home and I have not seen one spider since! I could not be more pleased with the entire experience and I would highly recommend Local Pest Control. I am so happy that I contacted them.

Turned to Local after having a thoroughly disappointing experience with Orkin (seriously if you're weighing up the two don't go with Orkin go with these guys instead.) In short, they were great over the phone and sent Jamie out the next morning to look at our problem. Jamie instantly spotted our problem and got to work on solving it, it was a breath of fresh air from the dithering and lack of knowledge form the other guys. I think there are two things you want from a pest control professional. 1 - expertise to sort your problem, 2 - trust so you can get the peace of mind. Jamie gave us both of these and so much more. He was professional, punctual and thoroughly knowledgeable. More importantly he made us feel comfortable in our own home again which is priceless and gave us the advice we needed to stop the problem from coming back. Well done Local for employing such great people, it genuinely made something that is inherently unpleasant into an altogether more pleasant experience.

I needed to identify a bug that I've found in my apartment especially after my neighbor got the bed bug, after googling I came across the Local Pest Control and talked to Chris and since I wanted to know immediately I took the bug to the shop to find out it was just a carpet beetle, Chris explained the type of bug this was showing me pictures on the wall and some products I could use if I need to, I was very impressed by how patiently he explained and took his time especially since I've been very stressed. Two weeks later I went back for another type of bug I found and this time again they were extremely helpful, they've correctly identified it and definitely took the extra mile to explain what ones should do to keep them away from my place. I've waited 3 months to leave this review and during this time we've been bug free.

Dishonest bad business!! We paid $126 for them to treat the wasps on the property. After the “treatment” there are still hundreds of the them. And later we discovered he didn’t treat the nest. He said he treated the other one which was already inactive. And then they have to charge us another $110 plus tax or they move on. They arrived on the property and call me for payment. Saying that they won’t do it if I don’t pay. I mean so what the previous $126 was for ?
