Never want to deal with Stutters ever again. DON'T HIRE THEM! - Took an embarrassingly long time to pay ( Super unprofessional ) - The employees take lots of timely breaks during their "work day" - Have atleast one-two grumpy employees whom nobody wants to deal with - Workers breathe in dangerous and unhealthy chemicals all day for just $14-15 a day Please save yourself a headache and hire anybody but them.

Stutters was one of the worst companies I have had to deal with in my entire life. I am writing this review now that my insurance claim is finally complete. I will try my best to keep my review brief, as I have a LOT to mention. Stutters was brought in by my insurance agency to do an assessment of the damages. After doing a walk through, it was identified that water had gone into the next room under the flooring (with our brand new floor, installed a week prior). We were told not to worry about it and they would have a team there to dry and save what they can ASAP. The next day we heard nothing from them. We took it upon ourselves to remove and salvage the floorboards as we quickly realized these bozos weren't coming. That evening we gave them a call to see where they were, and nobody seemed to know. We eventually got a call back from the head honcho with an excuse and apologies, and was told they would have some people out the next day - but by then, our floors and walls had been soaking for a straight 48 hours with no fans, or dehumidifiers. By the time they actually got anyone out here with fans, and dehumidifiers, the water had been soaking for nearly 3 solid days. We ended up going to Rona and buying our own fans during this time. To this day, I can only assume their negligence was to increase the water damage caused in order to increase their billable hours to my insurance agency. Although this is merely an allegation, I reported this directly to my insurance agency, with as much evidence as possible in hopes that they may audit their past work, and reconsider recommending them to clients in the future. During the experience, there were many times where we were told that people would "come out" to do things, which they never did. In every single circumstance, I had to call in (usually multiple times) to get updates, and guaranteed dates when people would come out. The communication with the "manager" was a complete joke. We spoke with some of the employees about this, and they told us this was a regular occurrence. (Red flag much?) Eventually it got to the point where we told our insurance provider that we would refuse to work with Stutters anymore, and they would be refused to enter the property if they showed up. After some back and forth, we were able to negotiate a different contractor to complete the repairs (which they were able to do in under a week, under budget, and with no communication issues). Overall, my experience with Stutters was exhausting. I don't know if all the project managers at Stutters are idiots, or if it was just the one we had, but when your own employees are telling clients that the issue is with management, it's time for some self reflection. On the note of self reflection, I would also like to add that the work performed by the employees was great - all of the issues were purely a management, communications, and scheduling problem. For these reasons, I have been quite vocal to everyone I know to let them know of our experience with Stutters DKI. I will do everything in my power to save others from the experience we went through, and it takes every ounce of strength in my body to not bite through my tongue in anger when I drive by their office every other day. If someone at Stutters would like to contact me, please feel free. Although it has been a few months since this happened, I would be happy for another opportunity to explain how awful your organization is, and how I hope you are shut down for your abhorrent negligence and inability to do simple tasks like writing a date down on a calendar, or picking up the phone.

Zero communication!!! Nothing, zip. Would have contractors showing up randomly or not showing up at all. DO NOT bother with this company. They had so many times to get this right and blew it every time. Worst experience.

Avoid at all cost............ very unorganized..........a million different middle men. No one can give you a straight answer. Extremely frustrating. Avoid avoid avoid. Iam only leaving 1 star because you have to.

I had a pipe burst in the middle of the night and Stutters was there for me that night and right up until the rooms in the basement were rebuilt. I had carpets, floors, walls and ceilings torn out. I didn't have to lift a finger. From the drying of the room to moving stuff out to the rebuild, they were great. The area looks better than it did before the leak. I am so happy with the service and the work. I highly recommend Stutters!

We got stung by a leaky dishwasher that hid it's problem for several months (years maybe even) before showing any signs of a leak. By the time we realized there was a problem, the water damage had gone deep, the entire wall cavity was completely saturated. There was walls on two stories of house to open and dry out, about 1000SqFt of flooring to replace, several cabinets to replace and all the remediation work to get the house back to original condition. Stutters DKI was selected for us by our insurance so we didn't really get a say in the decision to hire them. I was somewhat aware of the company by reputation so I wasn't concerned when they were selected. I made the call to my insurance company at 900-930AM on a Monday, Stutters had a crew on site by 11AM! This impressed right off the start and my impression of them never dwindled. As I expected, the job went without a hitch. Our project manager (Brie) was both professional and pleasant to work with, while also being very good understanding our concerns and doing whatever she could to both put our minds at ease and streamline the job. They (contractors and Stutters) even went out of their way to split the job into phases so that the tenant could stay in the house while the repairs were being performed, this was absolutely above & beyond in my books. The job was completed to our complete satisfaction, the pricing was fair and all of the contractors involved were very professional. There was some minor issues with quality of work and some minor deficiencies at the end of the job but as soon as I mentioned anything, it was corrected right away. We'd definitely hire Stutters DKI again and I'd recommend them to anyone that asks.

Someone crashed a car into the front of our business and Stutters literally picked up the pieces. They organized rubbish removal and installed a temporary wall that afternoon. Within a week they were working with insurance to replace glass, doors, electrical and more. It was a traumatic experience and I'm glad that Stutters was there to assist.

We had water damage from a burst pipe this summer. Stutters showed up immediately, brought in an electrician to make sure no electrical damage was done and got to work right away. We couldn't stay at home, so we handed over our keys and left. They kept us up-to-date with pictures, phone calls and emails. When we returned back, they were still working, I was impressed how clean they kept our house. Everything was packed up in boxes and labeled, I didn't have to look for our kitchen things long. They really respected our home. Thank you for the great work! And yes, I would totally recommend them!

Not only is the communication absolutely horrible as to what’s going on but getting a time-line from them is a pointless process. If you’re looking for a good, timely, stress-free project to be completed with good customer communication – run away from Stutters. I actually finished some work myself as it was already past their timeline and the job needed to be completed for occupancy… I took many pictures of what "complete" was. *I will thank Carey for communicating with me since the “Project manager” didn’t answer questions, didn’t return calls or messages and had ZERO sense of urgency for anything.

Repairs under my trailer have not been done properly and being charged for more materials than used/inferior materials. Whatever crew has been sent to site does not have skills required. Have been working with Warranty Mgr / PM to try and resolve. Crew revisit remains inadequate. I think mgmt is interested in making right, has made some attempts, but site workers clearly arent equipped. I will change the review if/when it is fully resolved.

I recently hired Stutters to clean up a small mold and mildew problem I had in my son Cassidi's bedroom (she identifies as a boy!) that was building up along her wall. From the start my experience was terrible; they scheduled a time to come and look at the damage, and did not show up. When they finally came by, they underquoted the cost and time it would take to do the job. 2 months after the work had been 'completed' the mold had returned despite them assuring me it would not happen again! I will not be calling them again.

Terrible. Would never ever deal with them or reccomend them to anyone! Customer service was just awful. There was no communication and they are very disorganized. Their time lines were always much longer than expected. They offered to reimburse me for the hotel stays after one of their employees put a foot through my bathroom ceiling causing more damage to my home but now they wont accept emailed receipts apparently. The manager, Leah, was rude and condescending on the phone. Potential customers please save yourself a massive headache and run far away from stutters.

We noticed some mould in a basement bathroom caused by an old leak. The leak had been repaired but there had been water trapped between the floors. Anyway, Stutters removed the mould and the bathroom was restored completely within short order. We were impressed with those involved and based on our experience we would recommend Stutters Restoration.

Stutters do you even look at your reviews? I am not surprised to see that I am not alone. Worst service. Worst communication. There were a couple Of good things granted but the bad outweighs the good. I would never recommend, ever.

Rude! My home flooded last year and I hired these 'professionals' to take a look at the water damage... what a mistake! Firstly, I am a vegan; I grow most of my organic produce and herbs in my garden. It is super important that I keep this environment clean of pollution and negative thoughts. When the people from Stutters came to look at my problem, they told me not to worry about following them around my yard and that they would look for signs of the damage themselves on the outside of my house. 30 minutes had gone by and no one had come to update me on the situation so my third-eye was beginning to see a distrusting aura from these technicians. I went to my kitchen window and spotted what was holding them up; they were standing in my organic garden smoking!! Can you believe it?! Needless to say I was peeved!! I mediated briefly to collect myself, and then stormed out there to uninvite them off of my property.

There were so many levels of poor service that it's hard to name them all. After our basement flood, Stutters' initial response was great--they arrived quickly and seemed to get everything organized right away. We were just grateful to have the disaster managed. But that's where the good organization ended. Despite us being told there was a schedule for the work, contractors either showed up days *before* we were expecting them (because no one kept them informed about the progress of the work), or failed to show up at all--as was the case with Stutters' plumber of choice, Checkered Plumbing. We waited weeks for those guys to come and finish the bathroom, which held up everything that came after them. And the contractor responsible for the cabinets, baseboards and painting actually abandoned the project at the end and paid *us* to finish his work. The Stutters "project manager" rarely knew what was going on and seemed to have no ability to manage anything. Getting updates from him was like pulling teeth and by the end we just wanted it to be over so we'd never have to deal with them again. There are a number of restoration companies in town, so do yourself a favour and call literally ANYONE else.

Tried Stutters services for a water leak in our basement and would not recommend. It was a very slow response to get a truck in to clean up the water and the water tech did not show up for 2 days to assess the damage. They brought a defunct dehumidifier that I had to remove from our house and it was a week later again when they started demo services. They left the garbage in my driveway for 3 weeks before collecting and the project manager won't return calls. It's been 6 weeks since our leak and they have still not started the work or contacted us regarding this despite many messages being left. We have given up and are now trying to fix it ourselves. We have had leaks in the past and have had Okanagan Restorations and have always been very happy with their service. Stutters does not even come close to comparing. Worst service I have ever experienced.

My new apartment was destroyed in a flood and Stutters was hired to fix it. It took them 4 months to finish the job and after it was done my place was in terrible shape. When they said the job was "finished" there were unpainted parts of walls, paint on the areas surrounding the walls, a hole in my bedroom door, a broken stove top, a chip on the tile floor and my taps were put on crooked. After several attempts to get them back in to fix it, they painted the unfinished parts and replaced the stove top. That was the last I heard from them, I had to fix all the other things myself. Two months later my shower door fell off and the bedroom carpet started to raise at the edges due to improper installation. The sealant they put around everything started to mold and flake off. The only good thing I have to say about Stutters is in the brief interaction I had with the people there, they were friendly. As for their work ethic and skills: BIG THUMBS DOWN.
