WOW BUYER BEWARE! I'd give them a 0 star if I could..... Spoke to the kitchen dept In late July about getting new countertops. Received a quote for new countertops, install and taxes included. We were so happy with the friendliness and knowledge of the lady there. Couldn't believe how awesome the customer service was. We decided to order but first wanted someone to come in and verify measurements. We paid $100.00 plus tax for someone to do that which, we gladly paid because we didnt want to take a chance on our own measurements being incorrect. At that time he took the measurements and also wrote down that we wanted no back splash, installed with a cut out for the sink and the color name. I then went to Rona a few days later on August 3rd and paid upfront for our order because it was a custom order. At that time the lady in the kitchen dept asked me to sign the peice of paper agreeing to the details that the "measurement guy" had written down. Which I was given a copy of. Still no big deal thinking that we were getting great customer service. Knowing that because of "covid times" that it may take a little longer and we were totally OK with that. On Sept 25th, I received a call telling me that my counter top was ready for pick up at which time I told lady lady that we paid for install so assumed that would include delivery as well. She said someone would get back to me with an install time. 6 days later another Rona associate called to inform me that she had no record of me paying for the install and that it would be another $1100 that would need to be paid in full before they can book anything. I went to speak to the lady whom I placed my order with and she said that even though I signed the paperwork agreeing to the terms stated on it that install was now not included and there must have been a mix up. I am so frustrated I could cry and refuse to give them another $1100 over what I already paid when the paperwork clearly states that install and sink cut out to be included. I will pick up the countertops and install them ourselves but I just want people to be aware that you can clearly be scammed even when you think you have yourself covered.

Great selection....if you can find it yourself because the in store workers don't know where anything is. If you are getting something from the yard make sure you bring some muscle. The yard "workers" might show you were your lumber purchase is located if you are lucky but you'll be loading it yourself.

BEWARE OF PRICE GOUGING! I recently needed to install a railing system on my deck. After cleaning out Spruceland of what they had in stock, I went to rona for a few extra items. Couldn't believe the price difference. Even a small hinge at Spruceland was $28, Rona had the identical item for $41... I took my Spruceland receipt and the price difference for everything I needed was $1000 vs Rona's $1400. Since then spread the word, many of my friends have come across the same price gouging. Definitely watch their prices, their playing the public for stupid.

I would recommend going to Rona if you need something they carry in stock at the store ("pick up in 2 hours"), or using rona.ca for in-town delivery (excellent and often the day after you order). I do not recommend using rona.ca for a pickup order ("3 to 7 days") in the store. Either you will be waiting for quite some time at one of four curbside pickup parking spots, or you will wait for the same amount of time in store (to confirm several times that yes, you did receive an email to pick up your order) and in the lumber yard (for someone to either find or not find the items you ordered). Lumber desk is always kind of slow, because of the nature of what people order and how the lumber desk has always been set up (so this is normal). However, I would recommend that Rona move their floor wait and lineup stickers closer to the inactive entrance beside the lumber desk, because of large loads frequently going in and out of the double doors on the other side of the lumber desk (it kind of defeats the purpose of social distancing during COVID-19). On the whole, Rona is not set up for the on-line retail space. They were late in the game and their company-wide customer service (phone and email) needs an overhaul. But, they are still my go-to hardware store in town for a box of screws or paint on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

I found most of what I was looking for, the staff was helpful (for the most part) and easy to find (unlike the products) The shelves on the SW side of the store are un-numbered then go 1 2 7 6 that is not how you number shelves that is how you come up with an Interac PIN. Finally the ropes & twine for tying down a load are sold in a different aisle from the bungees & straps for tying a load down.

I don't recommend this store at all. You can get far much better service and professional help with cheaper price at home hardware. I had to buy a Silicone during easter and unfortunately home hardware were closed so I had to go to Rona. Such a big mistake. I am not handy and asked a lady for help like I always do at home hardware. She mislead me and gave me a tube which needed a gun. After I couldn't use it and searching in utube I realized I need a gun!!! When I came back to exchange it to one without using a gun, even the management didn't accept their fault and didn't accept to Exchange the product because the the original package was opened.

On more then occasion I have gone in looking for a product. The staff tell me they have it in stock and it takes them over a hour to find it if they even find it at all. This time I thought I was save my time waiting around the store so I ordered online and picking up in store. It says two hour pick up. That’s a joke. It’s been over 6 hours. I called the store and I’ve been placed on hold for over 30 mins now. The staff needs more training and they need to get their inventory problem under control.

Don't ever seem to be able to get competent assistance. Last time I was in one of the people on the floor suggested I buy a puck light that was an extension for another primary item. When I opened the box it was obvious that there was another piece required. I went back to buy the primary fixture and couldn't find one. I asked for help finding it and the employe that was available to help began digging through phone cables. Makes me question if their floor staff actually gets any training at all.

the incompetence of the staff is all most unbelievable. had to go in three separate occasions to pay one bill. first time they didn't charge my card at all so I got a truck load for free second time only charged half the order and finally on the third time they might have gotten it right we shall wait and see if they call me to come back. Staff seems uninterested to help at the contractor desk. just all around unorganized, incompetent and rude from the managers down... unfortunately our other hardware stores are no better.....

Expensive, approximately 20% to 30% more expensive than Edmonton. I recommend not shopping locally at this business check Amazon first unless it is an emergency. If they can price match Edmonton then by all means shop locally. If you enjoy being gouged then by all means shop locally.

Went in looking for a bathroom faucet to replace a tap that has stripped couldn't get any help after asking 3 different associates for help. Only 1 made a call on the pa for someone to come nobody came. Asked a 4th to call again after a 20 min wait he refused and told me to go to the lumber desk. I for some reason was having severe cramping in my legs and almost collapsed in the store had to brace myself on a shelf to stop from falling multiple staff just kept on walking by I left I dont know if I'll ever go back in. I work in the customer service industry and have for over 30 years shaw atco and safeway if I demonstrated any of the to busy to care attitude I would have been sent for retraining.

recently developed our basement, unfortunately due to lack of competition, we were required to purchase significant amount of supplies (over $10,000) from RONA, with fort mcmurray mark up. We had wrong items be delivered or delivered damaged. Takes 2 months to deliver things (oh btw we're still waiting for our washer and dryer purchased on boxing day). We also purchased 6 doors, one of which was special order, however it was coded on the invoice that all 6 were special order. I guess customers are responsible to understand the fine print and codes on the invoice. When doors finally arrived two months later, I needed to exchange two doors but was told unable to exchange special orders, so I had to purchase the exact same doors, with hinges on the opposite side from the store. Overall poor experience. Never shop local, better off buying online and pay extra for delivery, or just pick things up when visiting down south.

I just found out there was a Rona store in Fort McMurray. I bought some small things for the house I just bought. No problem at all. My Fridge was down and I tried to buy a new one at Rona but the staff who helped me actually did not help on any thing. She even could not answer my question about how much and when for the delivery. She asked me to come back on Sunday when the knowlegeable personnel was back on duty. I needed a new fridge asap so I went to another store and get what I need in 10 minuts.
